I've been eyeing this spot at Cumming City Center for a while now, and finally took the plunge yesterday and went for it for a late lunch. Fantastic experience through and through! Fast casual where you order at the counter and seat yourself, and staff will bring the food out to your table. Just a few tables inside, so my guess is that a lot of people order takeout. They have a small but mighty menu filled with British staples that you would see in a proper English pub. I love that they offer two different kinds of fries depending on your mood - a thick and softer "chip" more like steak fries here in the U.S., or a thinner and crispier fry which is what I went for because I need crispy fries! They were fantastic, and so were the fried jumbo shrimp. Hushpuppies were a tad overdone for my liking, but always a nice side addition! My friend order the fish filet and said it was incredible. All of their sauces are made in house, and I tried the cocktail with my shrimp and it was delicious. The atmosphere and decor definitely gives off that vibe and adds to the whole aesthetic nicely. Full bar with plenty of comfy seating. Will definitely be back!

Excellent fish & chips!! Full portion was the right call for me. The food arrived hot, and the fryer oil was clearly fresh. We arrived at the 1130 opening on a Friday. Order at the counter and they deliver to table. Food was ready w/in 5 minutes. Loved the background tunes: Big Country, The Smiths! If they added a couple televisions, I'd be happy to sit and watch an EPL game at the bar. Cheers! RS

I like this place. It's close to the parking garage and a short walk. Feels very cozy inside and everyone seemed happy to be there. The phone booth is a hoot. My wife got the pretzel and beer cheese and it's probably the best pretzel I've ever had from anywhere. Very good. I got the General's Platter and it was really good. Fish was very good, and the shrimp were fried perfectly. Tried the curry sauce because I'd never had it before and I liked it a lot. The treason fries were good but my MIL got the traditional chips and I liked them better.

Loved the look of this place. The police box bathrooms & phone booth with alien are great. They have a full bar (unlike previous place that was here) Excellent service and GREAT fish!! We will be back to try more!

This was a pleasant discovery in an upscale pocket shopping center while passing through the area. Decor as expected for a British themed fish & chips pub. We got the 1/2 order, which was big enough. I got the British-style plank fries & wife got the "American-style Treason fries" (LOL). Both were good but I think we liked the slightly battered American fries a bit better. There was something about beverages that was different or not exactly what we wanted - can't remember now but give it a try if in area.

First time visiting this spot in Cumming City Center. After reading reviews that the fish and chips were British pub worthy. Nice location with indoor and outdoor seating, very friendly staff. We had the fish and chips which are battered with authentic imported British batter. The fish was nicely seasoned , a bit greasy and the original chips were dry but did like the other fries on the menu. It was fresh tasting , clean, and decent portion size. I would eat there again but maybe for lunch over dinner.

Delicious! Food tasted fresh and we were pleasantly surprised. Will definitely return.

Great fish and chips, really liked the Tatar sauce too!

Great Fish and Chips. Had not been here since wrights departed and had wanted to give this place a try and am sure glad we did. Amazing ambiance to feel like a British pub, with some draft beers. Still order from the counter however. Staff were all super friendly and had some nice conversation. They are planning on adding TV's to be able to watch soccer! Food was in my opinion better than Wrights was. Wrights quality declined! Will be back and wish this group great success!

Every person we talked to was fun, funny and just a joy to hang with. Harlow was great (bartender). She concocted this olive spin on a Hugo Spritz. Wife absolutely loved it. For me the bourbon selection was great. Got to try a newly opened Old Carter. Also dabbled in the Shackleton. Figured some exploration with one of the greatest explorers. Both were great. Finally the food. Every thing we ordered was absolutely delicious. Massive truffle fries (called chips but more like logs lol), don't sleep on the Gouda Mac and cheese, farmer fresh sliced squash and my meal, the 12oz steak on a bed of Peruvian mash potato's with shiitake mushrooms rounded out with asparagus. I can not accurately describe how amazing that meal was. You gotta try it for yourself. Andrew, we will be back.

And on the menu it said hand cut chips with my fish and chips. I did not receive that . So I'm thinking bait and switch. Thinking you're getting one thing then it comes out and it's totally different but yet you pay the same price for the meal. I'm thinking that since I didn't get what was quoted on the menu that there would have been a price difference. But there was not. Just a little disappointed. In my meal. The rest of my party really liked the salads.

Such friendly folks, absolutely nothing fancy, but patrons dressed in all types of dress; shorts, jeans, leather, short skirts with heals, dress pants, tie-die. Pretty fun. All ages too (no kids). We came to see Spirit of Dio, $10 pp at the door. PARKING... OMG GOOD LUCK. DO NOT GO DOWN THE SIDE OF THE BUILDING- NO PARKING & you will have to back out to turn around!!!! SMALL lot shared with others in the strip. I happened to get a spot right in front. Guy at the door said when other establishments close overflow parking can be there- don't get yourself towed! Maybe find a safe place & walk over?? You would THINK by looking at the outside food would be discussing- NOPE! ALL food we saw going by & the HUGE portion of chicken fingers & fries were piping hot & FRESH! Crispy & those fries!!! Beer is a great price!! See pics & video. The band sounded really great- they have a little sound booth that did a great job! The band (Spirit of Dio) always kills it!!! Server was Tiffany - she was THE BEST!!! You go in and it's a little bit dark and they have TV so you can watch sports but it's nothing fancy but it gets straight to the point. You'll come in and most likely sit at the bar which is where a lot of the action is. You park outside and have your own parking lot so you have to worry about that but it's very friendly and all the bartenders are really friendly as well. I had been one time and they acted like they were trying to get to know me and I appreciate it that customer service. I just came in for a quick meal to get my macros together, so I got the brussel sprouts and a chicken wrap. The chicken wrap was pretty good. Nothing crazy or nothing amazing or not. Nothing special, but it was still pretty good. The fries were steak fries, cooked pretty well. The brussel sprouts were good. It was just basic bar food so I don't have anything bad to say but just par if that makes any sense.

They host Team Trivia every Thursday at 8pm which can be difficult for a younger group, but is still fun. The ambiance of the bar is great. It's definitely a little limited on seating but that allows the bar to have a cozy vibe and really feel like you're in a British Pub. The bar also has some golf arcade games if trivia isn't your thing. Staffing can sometimes be a little light, but when staying for a while and playing trivia it isn't too noticeable. Most of the food is typical bar food and for all my previous visits it was decent but nothing special. However, on my most recent visit I tried their signature meatloaf and it was a level above all the other food and something I will definitely get again. Overall, I think The King George Tavern provides an excellent experience for a trivia night with friends, and I'll continue going back.
