On a particularly weary day where I was exceptionally tired and my pursuit of completing errands was thwarted by sudden rainfall, I decided to finally give it a try. I was quickly ushered to a back room free of frills, aromas, or aesthetic warmth--only consisting of a double bed set-up for couples. I took this as an ominous sign that there would be no one coming to save me. They were extremely prompt in returning, thus hustling me to undress much faster. Once settled, the female masseuse went to town on my back. She was extremely attentive and was not shy about battling each and every sore muscle out of my back--kneading out my knots meticulously, as if she were tenderizing a tough piece of steak. This massage was not for the weak and timid--rather for those who seek solutions and reprieve from tightness, void of frivolity. Those who enter must decide which of these two categories they are, and throughout that massage, I had to remind myself that I was the latter. My boyfriend and I decided to go for a massage after a long week, but it was not relaxing at all. The two women who provided the service talked the entire time, which completely ruined the experience. At the end, they used hot wet towels, but they weren't careful at all--the towels were way too hot and actually burned my back. When it came time to pay, I was obviously not satisfied with the service, so I left a 10% tip. However, that didn't seem to be enough, as the cashier pressured us to leave more. As far as the massage I got an hr massage which was $50 which included hot stones. I didn't get the name of the person who did my massage but she did a good job. I came here cuz about a decade ago I received a good foot massage from here for like 30 mins and the price for a 90- minute full body was 75. when I got there they tell me its actually 83 with a card. thats insane but when I swipe the lowest tip to give was 16 dollars so I skipped thats almost a 120 why not go to a better place. I told him I had cash and would tip after service. thats weird that he continued to pressure me about a tip before service then I get serviced and he's belching nonstop digging his elbows into me. then someone else comes in she does a bit better but still digging elbows not focusing on areas I really needed or the pressure I need. I felt no relief when it was done. in fact I felt pain in my legs where I needed relief. then I go over and hand him 7 cash and he counts it in front of me and tries to guilt me into paying 20. I told him no and that thats all I had. he tells me thats how the masseuse gets paid. so im responsible for her whole payment?? I got the couple's massage combo (massage and foot reflexology) with my partner yesterday and holy moly it was the most intense massage of my life. I think they just defaulted to deep tissue massage for us, which I wasn't expecting. There were times when I was in so much pain or couldn't breathe, or both, but when I asked my masseuse to tone it down a little they did and it was more manageable for me. After we were both very thirsty, which from what I understand is typical after getting a real massage. Anyway, this morning, about 15 hours later, I'm pretty sore but I also feel much looser and comfortable so I think this is the point? I don't know if I'd get a deep tissue massage again, but I can say that my masseuse worked REALLY HARD for 90 minutes and when all was said and done I think I am better for it. read more

The seating area for the reflexology session was small and it was partially partitioned off from the entrance to this establishment. The masseuse did a decent job, it wasn't the best reflexology I've had. However, my feet felt better after she finished. They add a 2.50% charge if you use a debit/credit card. STAY AWAY DANGEROUS My fiancé and I went for a two hour couples massage yesterday afternoon and my back is tremendous pain today. Usually we have a good experience but this time around it was totally different. The woman that massaged me got up on the table and walked on my back! The guy massaging my fiancé said something to the lady walking on my back and she laughed and continued walking. I've been going to this place for years now. Went yesterday and got the 2 hour facial and massage. Both were okay. Before leaving, I asked the cashier to break a $20 ($10 tip). One masseuse wouldn't even take the $10 then the cashier told me "that wasn't enough...I HAD to give $20". From veryyy high end to a chair for 10 min at a street festival, which was very cheesy. The only place that was considered decent was in midtown but that came with a price tag - yet the service was like your own robe slippers sauna shower and bells and whistles. Again heavy price tag... and the masseuse was crazy good (could never find her again). So with that said... I am cracking up because this water lily spa is not even close to any of that. I am seeing reviews "top notch" etc etc. Then you probably have not been to a REAL spa!! This place is noooot a standard avid spa-goers type of spot---sorry to say!! Again, comparing what I know is standard and have experienced around the world. so why the 5 stars, if that is what you are asking. Because I prefer to warn someone of the environment while reading these reviews. Five stars because an hour of deeeeep tissue is $45!!!!!!!! And because it was deeeeep tissue (and they threw in hot stones) ,,, my tips were super high. That is right!!!!! You are paying for quality work. The lady who did my massage was sweet but not that good and doubled as the receptionist. During my massage she picked up the phone several times which was kind of annoying. And she used the hot stones only very briefly at the end... it was mainly just an oil rub. Fine, I thought it was just not the usual masseuse on staff. It was less than average, so I thought that a 15% tip would have already been sufficient. But when I left, some other guy was at the cashier and insisted 20% is normal. Not cool. We weren't too bothered by this. We entered a tiny room which had face pillows with a paper towel on them. This was fine - we weren't expecting frills. What we were expecting was a great massage, which we both got. But we left feeling disappointed as there were many small things which ruined the experience. My massage bed was INSANELY squeaky. I spent the entire time trying to push back toward the woman's hands so that my body would move less and not disturb my boyfriend. Not exactly relaxing. At the end, I asked if he had been bothered, and he said "yes", and also that his woman unfortunately had terrible B.O. At the end, we were offered a dixie cup of warm water (nothing was offered to us during the 30 minute wait). We wanted to tip 15% since we weren't very satisfied, but the woman said they would only accept a 20% tip! The space is quiet, well lit, clean & accommodating and a plus is that they have a shower inside the bathroom. This came as a surprise as most reflexology places do not. I've came to this place multiple times. Its a standard massage place in Chinatown/Soho area. I have mixed feelings about this place in the sense that sometimes its relaxing and great and other times it was not good. I give it three stars because its "clean" and professional. Is it the best massage I have ever gotten? No. One of the main problems is that in the couples massage room you can hear the front desk person speaking on the phone. You can also hear the outside traffic at some points which makes it a bit difficult to relax. Other than that the staff is very comforting. I mean its not as five star massage place but for the price your paying can you expect much. 40 dollars and hour its not going to be perfect but compared to other places in the Chinatown area it goes above expectations. The bathroom is small and the shower is not amazingly clean if you plan on getting a scrub which personally I never have because majority of showers are gross. GO for the Swedish, and deep tissue they are okay, I wouldn't go for the hot stone because they sometimes leave the room frequently for an extended period of time. At some point when I got massage the masseuses were speaking to each other which got annoying. The question is will I go back? The answer is yes. They do a standard good massage for the price. They also sometimes rush you out of the room to accommodate the people waiting which is annoying. Its a nice place but just don't bring company who have high expectations.
