Been going to this restaurant since it opened. Great food, terrific service and wine list. Continues to be one of the very best restaurants in Door County. Creative menu. Terrific views and sunsets! Great outdoor space to carry out and enjoy a cocktail.

The view here is absolutely stunning! The food is good and the service was very nice. The crowd here is a bit on the older side, which isn't bad but notable. I'm not a fish eater but had the pappardelle as that was noted to be a special... the sauce was lacking and the pasta was overcooked.

Probably the best dinner my wife and I have ever had in Door County. Beautiful dinning room with lots of windows overlooking the marina and bay. With some very nice outdoor seating. (Make your reservation time just prior to sunset. So you can take in the beautiful views.) Highly recommend our server Benjamin.

I ate in the bar as the restaurant was full and I didn't have a reservation. The service was fantastic from the busy bartenders. I highly recommend this great restaurant! Be sure to have a reservation and you may want a windows seat as this restaurant is on the waterfront.

A reservation is a must even on a weeknight in mid-October. We got seated promptly in their lovely dining room. Earlier in the summer I am guessing the outside deck and the view would be an added attraction. I had seen on their website that they had a Mai Tai so I ordered that but they did not have it since it was a "summer drink". Very disappointing and a bit strange. We started with the lobster bisque - it was unbelievably rich and delicious. I wish the bowl was bigger but that may have not been good for my health! My wife ordered the crab cakes, which was a small plate, which she really enjoyed. I got the small plate smoked salmon which was tasty. The potato chips as a side was a bit odd but good. I took the bait and got the maple creme brûlée with a side of candied bacon for dessert. It was pretty darn good. Overall we had a great experience and a great meal.

Slow service & unapologetic staff. Skip it…read more Was seated 15+ minutes after our reservation, even though there seemed to be adequate staffing and many open tables. Food was good, bartender (ahead of being seated) was great, atmosphere was good. Service was SLOW and inattentive. There were multiple times where we waited 10-20 minutes with no food or drink in front of us. No one ever followed up for additional drink orders outside of the first. After about 1 hour & 10 minutes, I flagged down a bus boy and asked them to find out why we still hadn't gotten the main course. They said we were behind a big table and it should be about 5 minutes. 5 minutes later I flagged down my waiter and asked what was up. I was told that it was my fault for asking for our focaccia, appetizer, and main course to be spaced out. (the only options that were given were to have all items at once or spaced out) At this point I asked for a manager. The manager (owner) came out hot, acting like the soup guy from Seinfeld. He had the waiter repeat what she told to me earlier and when I tried to interject, told me to stop and listen to her. I reiterated that at this point we'd been there for over an hour after being seated (late) (also at this point it was almost and hour and a half since being seated) and that it was unacceptable to still not have been served the main course, whatever their excuse was. There were at least 3 servers, and not over 20 tables in the entire place. Instead of offering anything at all to make up for it, acknowledging any of the issues, or least of all apologizing, the owner told the waiter to "get us out of here". The waiter wound up bringing the entree in a bag and the check (including the entree) to us. I had to demand I wasn't, at all, paying for the entree in order to get it removed from the bill. (I left it on the table) The bottom line is that, the entree could've been the tastiest dish in the world, but this place doesn't deserve your patronage.

This restaurant is definitely on the smaller side but it has such the cutest charm! I ordered the Salmon Piccata with a side of Caesar salad, and pasta with oil, garlic, and butter. The Salmon Piccata was perfectly cooked; however, I wish it had a tad more seasoning (maybe a tad more salt or simply lemon juice) since I truly had to rely on the capers for any acidity. The Caesar salad has to be one of the best I've ever had--it honestly had the punch of lemony boquerones. If you truly love anchovies, I highly recommend ordering it with some extra anchovies! Lastly, the pasta was just as expected, but it was still delicious! Pro tip if you order the salmon piccata: dip the pasta in the lemon and white wine sauce--you'll thank me later!

Upon entering they will take your coats ( if you have them) service was great The ambience is low key, an intimate feeling. Selection of dishes check boxes for classic Italian. I love how you can choose your side pasta and kind of sauce with the entrée. That is a special touch worth going just for that. You are charged for sharing but they offer side and salad with the extra charge. Not unreasonable in my opinion. The bread brought out was delicious. Felt the marinara was a little salty for the eggplant But certainly not inedible. A nearby table had ordered mussels and the smell did carry over to us so a sensitivity to that could be an issue . Dessert The Tiramisu was fabulous. I actually liked the texture as you could taste every component. Usually soggy lady fingers which can taste great but here they kept their structure I felt making it stand out . Wonderful flavors. Parking is one way and could be icy in the lot. Well lit though. Worth the drive!

If there is a line of a dozen or more standing in line, plan on returning at 5:30 pm, or perhaps every half hour as the first in line get welcomed and seated first. Don't be upset if you press for seating even if the restaurant is half empty. We're puzzled as to why the restaurant doesn't take reservations, as there is a staff shortage in kitchen and wait staff. There is a permanent help wanted sign in its window. Perhaps taking reservations and guaranteeing showing up by taking a credit card first might help with greeting and accommodating the limited number of tables this restaurant can handle courteously and politely. If you do miss the first seating, don't be offended if the host/ hostess doesn't suggest waiting at the bar and enjoying a cocktail or glass of wine while you wait for your later seating. Be proactive and ask for permission to sit at the bar. Don't be offended if the bartender is curt and impatient. It's difficult to keep a good efficient staff. We're not sure if the food is good. As we were treated rudely upon entering, and they'd reached their initial seating capacity, our questions were answered impatiently and coldly. We did leave our name to return after 35 minutes. We left the restaurant and stood outside to reassess the situation. We decided it wasn't worth the attitude. So we crossed the street and had a welcoming and delicious dinner with drinks and desserts at Crate which we highly recommend. If you are familiar with the Seinfeld TV series, visiting Trattoria Dal Santo is very much like encountering the Soup Nazi. Proceed at your own risk
