Watts has some really nice people! We enjoyed our experience. My husband and I needed new filters to replace an old 'permanent' filter on our furnace. We needed a custom size, and Bobbi was kind and patient with me while my husband measured the current filter to make sure we had the correct measurements. She explained the MERV ratings for filters, so that we could make the best possible choice for our replacement filters. I really appreciated that, because I had started to do some research, and was confused. We were due for a complete furnace check and servicing to get ready for winter, so she put us on the schedule after she placed the order. She also followed up with a reminder call the day before our appointment which I really appreciated, because we had a lot going on that week. Thank you, Bobbi! Tanner came to service our furnace. He explained how to program our thermostat, and did a thorough cleaning and inspection of both the internal equipment as well as the external unit. He found a few things that needed to be addressed right away, and also made suggestions about items we might consider either during this visit or next time. Watts Heating has been servicing our furnace for the last 4 or 5 years. They also installed a new tankless water heater for us just last year. Watts Heating was originally recommended to us by Northwest Natural for their annual tune-up service discount. They called before they came, they showed up on time, and during the tuneup they discovered some condensation problems with our furnace we were not aware of and were able to get the parts and correct the problems efficiently before anything actually quit working, so there was no need to go without heat. We've had them do our annual service ever since. One cold weekend a couple of years ago our older thermostat shorted out (which also blew a fuse inside the furnace), and they came out on a Sunday to install a new thermostat and get our heat back on. Today we suddenly had no heat, and even though they had had a full day already, they came out and took care of the problem. They discovered a spider had spun a web which blocked up something inside of the furnace -- Luke even took a photo to show me! He cleared it out and thoroughly checked out the furnace, and it is now working just fine. Luke, Jesse, and Tanner are all very knowledgeable, professional, efficient and thorough technicians -- their service has been outstanding, and they're really nice young men. Our furnace broken on one of the coldest days of the year and Watts was able to come out and fix it in a days notice. The dispatch woman on the phone, Bobby, was super friendly and helpful. There was a fee for having them come out on the weekend, but I thought it was worth paying given the circumstance, especially because I know this must be one of their busiest times of the year. The man who came out to fix it, Tanner, recognized what the problem was right away and was able to fix it in a short amount of time and then explained what we needed to do to maintain the furnace so that we can prolong the life of it as much as possible. It took only about an hour. We are a house full of people who know nothing about furnaces so having him teach us about easy preventative maintenance was extremely helpful. The total cost for the new filters and labor was very reasonable (I was thinking we were going to spend at least twice as much as we did). He also left his personal cell phone number incase anything was still wrong after he left, and said that Bobby would give us a call in the spring to remind us to check our filters again then too. Overall, I highly recommend Watts to anyone with a broken furnace or air conditioner who wants to support a local family owned business that clearly puts customer service above all else. read more

I used Watts to 1) install new AC at my house 2) perform maintenance on my furnace. Josh/Keenan were my install team and they were very timely, professional, diligent and tidy. I'm very happy with the work they did. Watts was the most thorough in assessing my house for AC install and provided me the best combination of a great AC unit at a good value (I got several quotes!). Tanner performed the maintenance to my furnace. Tanner was great! Very professional, thorough, and took the time to answer questions and explain his findings. Originally I had had a third party inspect my furnace and they had recommended a more involved and expensive maintenance to my furnace. On inspection from Tanner, this was not needed at this time, nor likely for a long time. You can expect that Watts will not sell you products or services you don't need. In addition, you can expect that Watts will keep your house as tidy as they found it. I really appreciated this extra attention to detail. As other reviewers state, they can call ahead, and are on time. Watts had come as a recommendation from a friend who had used them, and I will gladly pass this recommendation forward here. read more

A Watts heating representative called and offered an inspection and tune-up for both of our furnaces at a special price. I thought about it and decided to go with the program. After much rescheduling (due to my other projects) we set a date for the services. Tanner Watts called, set a time, called when he was running a few minutes late, and arrived precisely at the time agreed upon. Our home has two gas furnaces, due to the remodel, and the size of our home. He was very much into crawling into our crawlspace and doing the service work (one has to climb through a small foundation window to be able to replace the filter) on our furnace. He advised me of some areas where future repairs would be necessary, and pledged to keep both furnaces running as long as he could, eventually needing repairs/replacement. Tanner was as great a service person as one could ask for. He was pleasant, informative, and willing to answer all of my questions. I am sold on this companies service and integrity. My Bryant furnace is 4 years old and Watts Heating began doing the yearly servicing after the 2nd year when the installing company sold its business accounts to Watts. When Watts did the annual tuneup this year their technician, Tanner, noticed that the pump component that discharges water from condensation from the furnace was not completely installed. The safety unit within the pump which shuts down the furnace if the pump fails had not been wired in and if the float pump activator failed I would have water all over my basement, including under the furnace. Further, when Tanner wired in the safety unit it would not function. At that point Tanner said he would research the availability of parts to keep the cost for me down and would get back to me promptly which he did. In pointing out and fixing this potentially damaging problem that I was unaware of promptly, Tanner and Watts Heating made me feel confident in their commitment to service and that I can rely upon them to be there when and if I need them. read more

I like to support our local businesses if they are deserving (through demonstrating outstanding performance). In my opinion, WATTS Heating and Cooling in Gladstone, OR is such a company. We have used them many times in the past for regular routine maintenance and necessary service. Their performance has always been top-notch and met / exceeded our expectations. Today, Tanner (the Service Technician) was on duty for our routine maintenance inspection and service. He was prompt, courteous, and communicated & explained very well what he would be doing. In addition to the service call, I highly appreciated his recommendations, and after discussing the cost / benefits factors, decided that his recommendations were well-founded. There was absolutely NO high-pressure sales "pitch" ... just the facts, and direct answers to our questions. My original heating & cooling company said I had a plugged secondary heat exchange and I should replace it at $1,068 or get a new furnace at $5,512.04. They recommended the new furnace because even at 13 years old, "they just don't last as long as they used to." My second quote from another company was for a new furnace at $3,512.37. Meanwhile, there's a bad smell in my living room which the first company said is from unburned flue gas, and it's not harmful to me. It was making me feel nauseous so I called NW Natural Gas to be sure. They came to check it out and luckily one of the technicians was a talkative sort and said I had a great furnace and I should check with his friend at Watts Heating & Cooling regarding the bad part. Yes, that part was bad and Carrier was replacing it for free and paying up to 4 hours of free service. The Watts technician replaced the part (which was difficult because it's in my attic and the furnace is on its side) 4 minutes less than 4 hours. It cost me $0. read more

Really,really,really impressed with the professional, courteous and kind manner in which Watts Heating and Cooling treated me and my system!! The thoroughness and care they took in examining my current furnace/heat pump setup was amazing...explaining every nuance and answering every question without hesitation or condescension...refreshing!! I have used other local hvac companies, but none match the personal attention Watts gives. No "up sell", just good advice on reconfiguring my current propane furnace and heat pump. From initial estimate, furnace & heat pump servicing, to moving my heat pump to a better location..it was all so seamless. These guys are the best in the business. We've used them to maintain our heating and air conditioning systems for many years. Always on time, always thoroughly professional, never a problem. Both Luke and Tanner have worked on our equipment over the years, and both of them have left us feeling very satisfied on every level... knowledgeable, great problem solvers, and, most importantly, always there for us. This latest snow siege is a case in point. We woke up on Saturday with no heat. We didn't know it at the time, but a water line had frozen, and the furnace had shut itself off to protect itself. We called Watts, explained the problem, and hoped for the best. Tanner called back within half an hour and was at our house just a couple of hours after that. I signed up for the discounted maintenance tune-up that NW Natural was offering and they referred me to Watts Heating & Cooling to send out a technician. The office lady was very helpful scheduling my appointment and was sure to call me the day before as a friendly reminder. About 30 minutes before the technician Tanner came out, he gave me a call to give me a heads up he was on his way and how long he would be. Once he arrived, he explained to me everything he would be doing. After checking the date on our furnace and finding out it was 22 years old, he forewarned me that he might find some components that might need to be replaced soon. I really appreciated that as he started doing the tune-up, he showed and explained to me each issue he discovered and how those components effect the performance of the furnace. We didn't know how our AC issue would be handled when we first called Watts Heating and Cooling. With actual luck and no referral, we happened to hire Watts for the job, and very happy we did! Luke arrived early within the in the previously scheduled one hour time window and had the AC quickly running again. He was very relatable and explained not only what he needed to do to fix the problem, but helped me to understand the cause as well. Watts was amazing, My family is a customer for life now. We have a very new home built 2 years ago. Late on a Sunday night our furnace went out. Total freak accident a million to one shot this would ever happen on a brand new furnace. YouTube taught me much about how old machines might be brought to life, but it was the stead hand of the kind folks at Watts to help me bury the old dead AC before I spent any more money on futile attempts. I had a great experience with Watts. When my furnace stopped working in a Monday morning, they confirmed they could get someone to me on overtime that day or regular time first thing the next morning. I chose the latter. Luke Watts showed up right on time and quickly confirmed what I could expect for the cost (between $89-$300), and did not try to hard sell me on anything that might seem expensive, relative to the basic repair. He had it running in an hour, plus completing the annual maintenance and offered good recommendations on how best to maintain it.
