I came here during the lunch special hour, and what you see in the picture is worth $20. There are other lunch special items like sashimi, rolls, and hand rolls, etc. but I was craving for a rice and meat dish, so I got the chicken Katsu dish. All the lunch menu items included salad and miso soup. The rice dishes also had a side choice, so I chose the California rolls. I came here on a Thursday at noon, and there was no wait at all for me, so the service was very fast. The staff was attentive and made sure I was well taken care of. Once I got seated, more people were coming in for lunch, and it got busy fast, so I'm thankful that I got here early. Also, the ambiance was small and modern. BEST SUSHI IVE HAD. The quality of the fish is amazing. I've been to nobu and this place has the same high quality fish as them if not better. My favorite is the octopus sashimi with jalapeño. Octopus is very tricky because most times it's too tough and chewy and has this watery fishy taste however here at wasabi that's not the case. I do recommend the hamachi with jalapenos as well SO REFRESHING. The service is so freaking fast it's just a 10/10 place!! The only downside side is the restaurant is very small however I personally don't mind because everything else makes up for it. They are the best sushi in CA hands down. read more

This happens to be my sister and nieces favorite spot. Honestly, I think the food is just OK. My husband ordered the katsu chicken dinner and opted for mixed tempura rather than a California roll. It came with a salad and rice. My husband said the chicken was pretty dry and the sauce tasted a little off. I did notice that it was very very thick, but I did not taste it. I ate his salad, which had an odd peanut butter flavored dressing on it. I ordered the snow white roll, which is made with soy paper and no rice. It does come with quite a bit of a creamy sauce all over it, so please keep that in mind. If I had to go back, I would order the same role with a little bit of Sriracha on top. My sister-in-law ordered teriyaki chicken with a California roll and she loved it. Service is always very nice The ambience is pretty relax but keep in mind. Here's the thing, I've been coming to Wazabi Sushi since they opened in Orange. I thought I would share my experience because it may help guide your choice of restaurant, especially if you have allergies. I have a ton of allergies, from eggs to gluten to shellfish (of all things at a SUSHI restaurant) but Wazabi has ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS cared and I have NEVER been exposed to any of my allergies. Talking about the service can feel to judgmental, but truly, everyone who works there wants you to enjoy your experience. They are all kind people and they can cater to your needs, whether that be allergies like me, or if you're in a rush. My review is long overdue. Finally got a chance to try this place on a Monday bc a lot of sushi places close on Monday. Anyways, we came in around 6 and got seated right away and the menu is pretty extensive with different of rolls, appetizers and cooked items. I ordered a sushi platter that came with about 10 pieces of nigiri sushi and a small position of tuna roll. The sushi platter is 40 dollars and surprisingly they didn't give you any miso soup or starter like a salad. Most sushi places I have been to offer those for a sushi platter. Came here for Mother's Day to check out orange circle for the first time and we yelped for sushi. He ordered the baked salmon roll and said it was among the better ones he's ordered at sushi places. I got my usual unagi fare which I think is called dragon or caterpillar (I forget). Not bad. Pretty standard. We tried the lollipop for something different. I ordered a glass of plum wine. However, the quality of fish has declined over the years, and last night was the final straw. When my husband had a bite, he immediately made a face, and told me not to eat it because the fish was well past its freshness date. Both were so good, I told my sisters they had to try them, and then even returned the next day to fulfill my craving. The spicy edamame is deliciously seasoned and has crunchy bits of garlic that are so flavorful. It is mild enough for my 9 year old, while still having the flavor of the spice. The cherry blossom roll is so fresh and flavorful and presented so beautifully. The spice level of that one is also mild, so it doesn't overpower the other flavors. Perfectly balanced and so tasty. I also loved the Thai iced tea, north shore roll, and miso soup. The service was great and it's a cute little restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating.
