First off, great service! Ambiance ambiance ambiance! Dim lighting but not too dark...classical music playing in the background and if you're there in time, you'll catch an excellent live pianist! Our starter came after our meal so they decided to comp. it which was great! The variety of bread went well with the tasty salmon spread. The seared scallops and veggies were delicious. The chicken sandwich; who orders a chicken sandwich at a steak & seafood place?!...THIS GUY...it was pretty good though! Ending the night with homemade ice cream, which hit the spot! I've gone here a few times now usually to celebrate special occasions with friends. They have a pretty decent brunch buffet but I found it a little overpriced especially since I never eat that much for brunch anyways. I would prefer for my brunches to be lighter so I can function during the rest of the day instead of going into a food coma. They also have a "discounted" dinner if you go earlier which consists of a few of their menu items being $18-24. I thought that for the price, this place does an average job at preparing the food. The salmon I got was cooked pretty well but it was a little too simple with a small piece of salmon and 6 stalks of asparagus on the side. I was glad that it came with desert at least. The cheesecake we got was pretty good! In the past I've also gone here for dinner and I would recommend their prime rib or roast duck. While the duck and chicken is really juicy and flavorful, it's literally half of a bird roasted and put on a plate. It's really annoying to eat because you need to carve and try and get the meat off yourself, all while trying not to make a mess. To me the chefs seem a little lazy not wanting to prepare the dish to be more presentable. The restaurant itself is very cozy and classy. The servers are also great at making sure you are taken care of throughout your meal. read more

This used to be our to-go place for birthdays since they had a great deal where if you bought an entree, the birthday person got theirs free. COVID stopped us from going out but finally we were ready to celebrate again. Luckily I had decided to call ahead and was informed they no longer do the birthday deal, it's just a free dessert as long as they purchase an entree. After hearing about the famous family owned Weber's restaurant I knew I had to visit Ann Arbor someday to check this place out. My family and I stayed on the property since we had been visiting from Chicago. We made reservations upon check in and upon arrival at our time we were seated immediately. I loved the look of the whole place - stained glass windows that reached the high ceilings, the dark wood panel walls kept the room feeling cozy while the white beams painted white that crossed over on the ceiling gave an open feeling. The white tablecloths gave an elegant feel against the leather seating. I was also pleasantly surprised that they had a kids menu with crayons for my kids, perfect! We mainly ordered off the starters menu, so many good choices I had to try. Our order included the mushroom saute, spinach bread, PEI mussels, Oysters and Lobster bisque. My husband and I also shared a bottle of wine that the server helped us decide on. The mushroom saute was one of my favorites as I love mushrooms, there was a great cream sauce that the mushrooms were cooked in and served over toast points. The spinach bread was similar to a Calzone and came with a ranch dressing (kids loved - even with the spinach!). The mussels were very good but it could have used a little more substance to the broth (like onions, celery and peppers) to give the dish height and another dimension of flavor. We still devoured them all! Oysters were perfect and I appreciated the mignonette to enhance the flavor. Lobster bisque was delicious and the wine went with every starter. We then ordered another round of Oysters, the Crab Cake dinner and a caesar salad. My oldest son had the Fish and Chips off the kids menu. The crab cakes came with a nice coleslaw salad on the side and a complimentary mustard sauce. I only order caesar salad if it looks as thought the establishment will make it right. Sure enough I was very happy with the dish (I should have ordered a couple extra anchovies over top, but I love anchovies on caesar). The dressing was well seasoned and creamy and dressed the salad perfectly. For dessert we had the cream puff and the seasonal peach tart. Oh wow!! Those peaches were delicate and sweet and in the perfect layered shape over the delicate crust. The perfect ending to the meal. We were all very full and very happy with the entire experience. The staff was friendly and there seemed to be a good deal of teamwork going on. If our server was not immediately near by when we needed something there was always another team member close by that would make sure that our request was met in a timely manner. After 15 minutes the waiter stated that the cook put the wrong sauce on so we waited another 15 minutes. The crab cake was delicious. My husband ordered lobster but was notified that there was no lobster. I ordered the Maryland shrimp stuffed with crab. The shrimp were so over cooked that they were tough and chewy. You know the food was really good. So I'm not gonna go down that path. But when you go out for fine dining the service is a big part of the contract.. The vegetarian server was totally inappropriate to tell us red meat makes her vomit. That is Webbers forte! And OMG, the preteen boy at the next table said she is worse than a Cracker Barrel server. My husband and I went for lunch the other day and it was one of the best meals we have had in our in a long time. I can't believe we hadn't been before. We each got the lunch prime rib, which was absolutely amazing. I got the veggies as a side and they were cooked to perfection and had Parmesan cheese on them. My husband got the mashed potatoes and loved them. We also received a bread basket with butter and a smoked salmon pate....so good! My family of four stayed at the hotel and decided to make reservations for the restaurant for our second night here. We arrived early for our reservation and they were very accommodating. With a 9 & 2 year old, dinner can sometimes be very interesting and this time we were pleasantly surprised. The food was phenomenal. We ordered the oysters and escargot for starters. Both were exceptional! The kids ordered the fish and shrimp off the kids menu with fruit and fries. No complaints from the pint sized department. My husband had the lobster thermidor with mushrooms as a side and he was overjoyed with the presentation and taste. He even mentioned the left overs were just as good reheated the next day. My main course was the prime rib with a baked potato. It was good. I wish more had been done with the potato as it was just served plain. The only odd thing with our dinner was the service. Our waitress was ok. She took care of us at the beginning when they were a tad slow but as she had to service more tables, she forgot us. She almost seemed overwhelmed with the tables. There were 2 or 3 times our plates were sitting stacked and no one took them. With the numerous staff we saw, no one would stop to grab the empty plate stacks. A little disappointed with the service considering the amazing food. My final thoughts- go for an early dinner or when they are slower. If going during rush dinner hour, be prepared to not see the best service. Food is amazing- whether your willing to sit through rough staff is a choice you will have to make! read more

My husband and I were guests at the hotel. We were celebrating our 21st anniversary and decided to eat there. My husband had Prime Rib, and l the Seafood pasta. We were both really disappointed with our food. His mashed potato side dish was served to him cold,and my seafood pasta was pathetic. The shrimp in the pasta were dime size "salad-shrimp." This should not even be on the menu. It was mushy and lacking actual visible seafood. The prime rib was not bad, but it was definitely not worth the price. On a positive note, hats off to the pastry chef because the piece of Key Lime Pie I had was excellent. Our salads were quality. We went to Weber's tonight for Ann Arbor Restaurant Week. The food was good. App were outstanding, as was my soup and her salad. Her London Broil was very tasty and cooked perfectly. My roast duck could have used a hotter broil for less time, but duck is tricky business and mine was certainly inside the realm of acceptable. The big problem was service. They were not swamped (we were actually sat ahead of our reservation). The problem was that our server was not really paying attention to serving. Maybe slacking, maybe trying to do side work to get released for the evening. Don't know. I do know that I would have expected better. A floor manager did make an appearance at our table, and took care of the things the waiter should have, so I think they have a service standard, but our fellow wasn't up to it this evening. We drove 70 miles roundtrip to try Weber's. I'm not sure we'll make the trip again. Certainly worth a try if you're nearby, though. read more

This has become our go-to spot for celebrating birthdays. We often come here during lunch, as the birthday special is you get one of the meals (the cheapest one) free, but if you both get prime rib, it's a great deal. They also have great restaurant week options too. Overall, this place has the best value. Compared to other steak houses around town, Webers entrees include a side (soup or salad). They are known for their prime rib, but their seafood medley pasta is hearty with various seafood options and also a great choice. They also have some nice sandwich options should we want something less big. The location also not being right in downtown makes it convenient if you want a nice place to eat without having to find parking. read more

Had hoped to try this spot out after hearing positive things from family friends over the years. Popped in this evening at 9:42 knowing the late night kitchen was open until 10:00. The hostess was short and discouraging of our arrival but curtly redirected us to the bar area. Upon sitting down the bartender greeted us and provided a menu confirming the kitchen was still operating. After waiting for 10+ minutes at the not-so-crowded bar hoping to place food and drink orders we left. It felt purposeful and obnoxious that the staff simply waited us out so as to avoid serving us. After hearing great things and being excited to finally try this spot out, this was frustrating and disappointing. It seems they have many new employees in the restaurant who need additional training. We had breakfast here twice and both days took our order and after we paid we're told they were out of the item we ordered. Today I ordered a toasted bagel with butter. After waiting 15 minutes I asked about it. The waitress was unaware and had to check. She returned telling me they were out of bagels and offering toast instead. I told her I just wanted a refund. The owner was there and I complained to him, telling him we were staying in the hotel for 3 nights and we were not happy with our experience in the restaurant. His response was to get me a piece of coffee cake for breakfast - which they said they were out of! An update, Ken did reach out to me with a resolution which is all we wanted to begin with. So disappointed! We have always looked forward to a wonderful dinner at Webers... but will not return anytime soon. We had reservations for six... but were seated at a table for twelve way back in the farthest corner of the restaurant... The size of the table made conversation very difficult. We were served water and a pitiful basket of bread but did not see a waitress for almost 45 minutes. When she did arrive to take our drink order, she was brusque and seemed irritated to say the least. I ordered scallops (there were 4 on the plate) which were SO salty as to be inedible accompanied by some unidentifiable greens... Insult to injury... we had to signal several times for the dessert menu and practically beg for coffee. This is a very pricey restaurant where one should expect top notch service and food... not anymore! read more

As good as ever! Beautifully executed food. To me, this still ranks among some of the best food I've ever eaten. My husband and I love the food and ambiance. Weber's features a fantastic cocktail program and well-thought out menus. The salmon is so tender and flavorful and 100% fresh. My husband loves their steaks and we both love their pasta dishes, particularly Fettuccine Alfredo. Salads are always plated perfectly and surpass any house salad you'll find most anywhere else. Delectable desserts and good breakfast omelets and waffles. In fact, the breakfast buffet is a pretty good option for anyone wanting to sample a variety of dishes instead of sticking with a specific menu item. An all-around top notch dining experience. My brother's friend spoke highly of this place, so we made a reservation here for lunch after the graduation ceremony at Michigan. They had a special graduation menu with raised prices. Strategic? Yes. Kind of obnoxious? Also yes. My mom ordered the crab cakes, my grandparents ordered the crab cakes to share, my brother ordered the half-duck, and I ordered the roasted portobello mushroom entree (the only vegan option they offered other than a salad). Each entree came with either a salad/soup option. The soups were lobster bisque and French onion (with beef broth), so while everyone else enjoyed the bisque, I ended up going with the house salad. This was probably the highlight of my meal as the raspberry vinaigrette was perfect with the slivered almonds and dried cranberries but was also probably the easiest dish to make. When our food came, I wanted to laugh. What I got for $18 was one portobello mushroom topped with spinach and red peppers and a massive amount of cut-up pieces of squash and zucchini and a cauliflower/broccoli floret here and there. The cauliflower/broccoli was practically still raw, to the point where my grandma ended up giving me hers because she was having trouble chewing it. Most surprising of all, the completely bland veggies were steamed without any oil (everyone else's appeared to be cooked in melted butter), herbs/spices, or seasoning. They also randomly forgot the rice on my mom's plate, and she asked the waiter if they'd also forgotten rice on my plate. Turns out the vegan dish doesn't come with rice, and apparently they think that a bland plateful of veggies is somehow going to satisfy. Folks, this is what happens when a non-vegan tries to cook for a vegan and has no idea what they're doing. For the record, I finished my meal still hungry. My brother did say the duck that he ordered was the juiciest he had ever had ($23), and as the graduating senior, he was the guest of honor. I did think it was a little silly that they literally gave him a duck cut in half and expected him to carve it himself. (Don't get this if you don't want to be using your fingers and generally getting meat grease all over your hands.) The waiter was really friendly and nice, but almost a little too overly zealous about trying to clear the table. Probably after I finished half of my plate, as every 10% was eaten, he would come by and ask if I was done. (I appreciate your fervor, but I just eat slowly, okay??) Our water glasses were also not filled until half of them had been empty for most of the meal, which was a little disappointing for a nice restaurant. Ironically, the glass-filling picked up at the end when everyone was done. My brother and mom also ordered alcohol-spiked coffee in lieu of dessert, which they both really enjoyed. Overall, I was surprised that as a pretty nice restaurant that they didn't get a lot of the details right (the forgotten rice on my mom's plate, the undercooked broccoli/cauliflower, etc). And I get that this is a steakhouse/seafood place, but there are plenty of people with dietary restrictions these days, enough so that a little more thought should be put into what was honestly a pretty terrible entree for me. Excellent experience. Not 5-star, but a solid 4+. Food was quite good, other than the sautéed mushrooms. Service was a little slow, although we generally prefer that anyway. The crab cake appetizer was top-notch. The prime rib was delicious, the steak was perfectly cooked. The strawberry shortcake dessert was just OK (hard, flavorless biscuit), but the other desserts looked pretty good as they went past. We will be back. read more

We haven't been to Webers for decades mainly because we decided back then they survived on reputation vs basic good food. Regardless it seemed time to give it the old college try one more time. I ordered the Sea Bass with sushi rice and kale. Standard Asian sauce sweetness, actually pretty decent with a twist of having the portions cut in two instead of one fillet and something you might order at say Mitchell's and be satisfied. Lynn ordered the crab cakes given our long memories that said they were always pretty good. There is something about a restaurants style that say crab cakes can be different but you just can't mess it up. These were for sure different, aside from the first delivery as not very hot, but corrected, the taste and texture were mostly of filler not premium crab, with a salsa that was not that complimentary. They were served with a broiled tomato which I expected similar to stewed - no chance. Overall, a decision we all experience - should have made a different decision. Oh, forgot to mention our server (decided to not mention her name) was originally extremely nice until our cold order had to go back then we became non - persons. Hosted a rehearsal dinner and was somewhat disappointed, not enough to raise concern or expect something back just poor service. We opted for a buffet style dinner and self serve wine station for the group of 25 or so. After everyone arriving, the back table in the room had about 20 wine glasses, a single bottle of red and white wine, unopened with a bottle opener that had no knife attachment which was needed to remove the foil around the corks, messing with this seemed petty, especially on the first bottles. The presentation to me seemed off/poor as well. We were not notified if dinner was ready, just decided to get up and eat after we noticed no further adjustments to the buffet area. The main courses at our buffet were excellent to the point where we ran out, questioning if there was enough provided which was disappointing... I would rather an additional charge than wondering if everyone got a share.... I was the groom so I ate first. One of the side courses was misplaced with another, this was corrected after a number of guests already went through. We chose carrots as one of our sides, imagine full size/length carrots chopped 2-3 times and partially cooked, barely seasoned. This is not something I expected from this restaurant. (This was not the side that was replaced with the correct side) Desert was excellent but some details were missed again, throwing two traditional glass coffee pots (the ones that sit on a station to stay heated) on the buffet tables again is poor presentation and pretty sad. I came to find out one of our servers was "filling in" for the night and did not know how to process our final bill. Really nice place! The food was outstanding! A tad overpriced, but if you want to treat yourself or have a nice date night, it's worth the cost. There's a piano player during dinner and dimmed lights which gives it a more romantic / date night feel. But then at night, its a party lol! We had my brother-in-laws surprise 40th here and it was soooo much fun! The lights go out, the live band comes out, dance floor opens up, drinks start flowing, and then howwwww convenient -- you don't even have to drive home...just grab a room if you need to! The experience I had comes from restaurant week. The food was decent but the way the food came out of the kitchen was ridiculous. We were half way finished with our first appetizer when both the second appetizer and main entree came out. It was unbelievable, our food became cold and our table was an island of plates. The server even tried to take away our food before we were finished eating. I understand that restaurants have to turn tables but when we left they were not at full capacity. The server didn't even apologize and he even had the balls to tell us to make room for all the food. The table next to us just a few feet away didn't have the same problem, so I don't know why we were treated that way. I would never come back. read more
