Baked pork chop: the hype is pretty on point. Pork chop was cooked well and it was boneless. Needed more cheese but that's just me. Sauce was towards the salty rather than sweet side. It's the best one I've tasted in SGV and I've tried almost every place that has this dish. But still not comparable to one I've had at a closed hk cafe years ago BUT would def come back for it. Salmon spaghetti with lobster sauce: nothing out of the ordinary but the salmon was cooked really well. The sauce is good but I wasn't too impressed. Skip this if you are having a hard time deciding between dishes. Lemon iced tea: a HK cafe common drink, it wasn't too sweet or sour, so it was balanced really well for tea. Service: amazing service ! Our server's name was JC and he was super helpful with food suggestions. And he kept following up with how my mom and I were doing. Went back again today, and try something different. Try the thai baby back rib with spaghetti. Make sure to get it with the spaghetti as it come with meat sauce. If they put cheese on it, it's would be a baked bolgonese. Compare to other Asian Cafe which only give you a simple tomato sauce, this was great. The ribs were moist and the bark had a sweet and savory candy crust. It was good and flavorful. The veggie was good but the potato Grattan needed more flavor. The interior and exterior could be greatly improved but the food is definitely much higher quality than other cafes I've been to in my opinion. My family got ordered a lot to get the $35 deal for an extra platter of fried/roasted pig feet. It was pretty good and comparable to roasted pig from other Asian barbeque places. My family didn't like the sauce that came with it because it was too bland - I didn't touch the sauce at all so I can't personally verify that. The seafood curry platter was tasty but wasn't thick enough - too liquid-y to nicely coat the white rice. The Indonesian fried rice was also good but I prefer it to be more spicy. The French style filet mignon was juicy and soft - the way I like it. My favorite was the Japanese wood case bowl with pork cubes and white rice but it needed more meat in there - its a selection I don't see at other places so I had more appreciation for it. I like foods that are lightly sweet and salty so it was perfect to my taste. All in all a good place to get some good mom and pop food. read more

Some friends had recommended this place so I know some people must like it. I didn't think the food was that great - definitely not the same as Garden Cafe or Tasty Garden. The Indonesian fried rice was supposed to be one of the better dishes but was kind of hard; I love egg but not if it's runny, so another minus for me. The lemongrass pork chop wasn't bad, but needed more lemongrass flavor; I did, however, like the tender sliced potatoes that came with this dish. Typical cafe Hong Kong style food. What made this a four star experience was the friendly service by one of the waiters. He offered us a ginger chicken deal (orders over $30) for a dollar more. I came here on Friday for a late night dinner. At around 9 p.m., there were only two other parties in the restaurant (which, while not big, made the place feel a little empty). No wait, obviously, for a table for two. I ordered the sweet and sour pork (咕咾肉), a Cantonese specialty with pineapples, onions, and bell peppers. I liked it decently but wasn't exactly wowed or anything, and it came with a side of rice. Plus, you could add a beverage for a dollar or so more, which is nice, because those kinds of deals are usually only available for lunch. We also got to try the stir-fried Chinese green veggie (油菜). It's a pretty generous serving for $7, and it was well stir-fried. Not overly cooked, but not raw, and the wok hei was definitely palatable. I'd get it again. They have some other dishes they're well known for, like the Indonesian fried rice and the pig knuckle, as some Yelpers have noted. I'd be back to try them, but I wouldn't be dying to come back. Service: For a HK cafe in the SGV, it was excellent! Of course they weren't super busy, so that might have had an effect. Everything we asked for we got very politely.
