    German pork knuckle
    Will M.

I've been eating here more often recently because I've been busy moving, and by the time I finish for the day it's usually pretty late. One of the reasons I keep coming back is that they're open until 1am, which is a lifesaver when most places around the area are already closed. They mainly serve Cantonese cafe style food, and so far I've tried quite a few items including the pork chop and chicken steak with scallion oil, salt and pepper chicken wings, scrambled egg and beef rice, scrambled egg beef chow fun, beef stew noodles, curry dishes, bitter melon with beef, German pork knuckle, and of course the lemon tea. Overall, the food is pretty decent. The chicken wings are good, and I really enjoy the scrambled egg beef chow fun. The chicken steak is another favorite with crispy skin and juicy meat. I was also pleasantly surprised by the German pork knuckle. The only complaint I have is that some menu items seem to sell out fairly often. We went twice in a row looking for the same dish and it was unavailable both times. Other than that, everything we've had has been solid. It feels more like a local neighborhood spot than a trendy destination, but sometimes those are the places you end up returning to the most. I'll definitely be back.

I haven't been to WeChat Cafe for a long time. Today I am back to try the afternoon tea. And I found out it has another special rice dish. For $8.99, the baked pork chop rice is delicious. The sauce has a balanced flavor, and they didn't skip on the pork chop. As you can see in the photo, there was a bunch of pork chop meat. Service is okay, and it is a great value.

The pork rice with eggs is so good. You can't get this somewhere else. They homemade it themselves with special recipes. It comes with two eggs too. Their price is so reasonable and very affordable. Their service is very nice and friendly. Alan is the best and very professional. The restaurant with TV and we just watched World Cup here. Thank you Alan! My daughter and grandma love it. You are the best! Highly recommended.

This is actually the first time I've ever left a 1-star review for a restaurant. I normally don't leave negative reviews, but this experience was so disappointing that I felt I had to share it. We ordered the Scallion Oil Poached Chicken Leg over Rice and the Minced Pork Rice. The poached chicken had a strong unpleasant odor that made it very difficult to eat. It was extremely overcooked, falling apart, and the texture was nothing like good poached chicken. The scallion oil was overloaded with green onions and was surprisingly spicy, which completely overpowered the dish. The minced pork rice was just as disappointing. It was almost entirely fatty pork with barely any lean meat. The rice had almost no flavor except grease. Even my daughter couldn't finish it because it was so greasy. We ended up throwing most of the food away. I've eaten at many restaurants over the years, and this was honestly one of the worst meals I've ever had. I sincerely hope the restaurant pays more attention to its food quality, but unfortunately, we will not be returning.

I can't believe the BBQ pork rice is only $8.99. The char siu was juicy and flavorful, especially mixed with the runny egg and rice. I also loved the steamed pork patty rice, super tender and comforting. The baked mussels and fermented tofu lettuce were delicious too. Great prices, generous portions, and everything tasted so satisfying. Definitely coming back!

You absolutely get what you pay for and then some at this WeCafe. I don't understand the name but let's Chat about the food! Man that barbecue pork rice and the Thai basil minced pork was fire! I enjoyed every bite of both. The service was meh but that's exactly what I expected when I stepped into this restaurant. It's true to culture. Less words more food. lol if you're looking for a hardy delicious meal for a great price I suggest you stop by. We heard about this place from social media. When I stepped into the restaurant I felt like I was in another country. The smell, the decor, and patrons let me know I was about get some good eating! Stop by and get yours. You're losing money if you don't go. Lol

When I say this is an authentic Chinese restaurant, I mean authentic. They still using plastic water cup. Which is not a dig. But also wouldn't be too bad if they upgraded a little bit to modern times? As far as their food goes, I saw that they had a little lunch special from my Facebook group that I am in- so I decided to stop by. Definitely did not disappoint. A fresh crispy fried egg on top of both dishes? 10/10. We didn't get to finish both dishes because the portion was big, and when we took it home and reheated it? It was even better. Not bad for $8 to $10. The customer service is very typical for your everyday Asian restaurant. Do not expect too much. I really do believe, that good food doesn't necessarily come with good service. Especially for Asian restaurants. The ambience itself is very Asian. They offer booth and chairs. I can tell they have loyal customers who come here to enjoy family style meals.

Ambien is a hole on the wall. Service is friendly, price is very cheap and the food was great. We ordered everything from the special menu and it is served all day. Definitely will come back with friends.

    AC is only a decoration

It has been years that WeChat did not turn on the AC, and even when it's in the summer with over 90 degrees Fahrenheit, it literally felt like eating in an oven. Never again!

Located in a busy neighborhood of El Monte, CA, this restaurant was a pleasant surprise. Limited parking is available behind the restaurant, and street parking is an option if you can find a space. Upon entering, I immediately noticed how clean, well-organized, and modern everything looked. The electronic menu board is clearly and prominently displayed as you walk in. The menu is quite extensive, with options including wraps, salads, bowls, breakfast items, smoothies, and meal-prepped dishes with chicken, beef, salmon, tofu, and much more. I was impressed by the variety of choices and portions. My wife ordered an Asian chicken salad and garlic edamame, while I had a house salad with chicken and shrimp, plus a strawberry-banana smoothie and (2) protein donuts. Each dish was absolutely delicious. The lettuce in our salads was crunchy and fresh, the chicken and shrimp were flavorful and well-seasoned, the garlic edamame was tasty and cooked perfectly, and my banana and strawberry smoothie--let's just say I wish I had another one right now, as I loved it! If I may make a small suggestion: please chop the lettuce into smaller pieces, as the lettuce on both our plates contained large pieces that we had to cut ourselves. Despite this minor item, it was a positive dining experience, and we definitely plan to return soon to try other items on the menu.

I recently came back here again for a quick Sunday dinner, and here are some of the key highlights:…read more * Parking was easy this time as I was able to find an available spot in the parking lot immediately. * I was able to check in 5 minutes ahead of time via Yelp and only waited 5 more minutes in person before receiving a text that our table was ready on Sunday at 7:30 PM. * One of the most efficient services for Chinese restaurants in the SGV (San Gabriel Valley) area as the staff wasted no time serving food, refilling water, and responding to a check request. * Ordered slightly different dishes this time and C1 Xiao Long Bao (juicy pork dumplings 8 pieces -$13.00) and C5 Beef Roll (6 pieces - $16.00) were A-tier dishes. Xiao Long Bao's flavor profile tasted more like steamed dumplings. Beef roll didn't taste as good as I remembered (probably because it had slightly less hoisin sauce), but it was still a good beef roll nonetheless. * Personally G4 Black Pepper Beef Fried Udon ($15.99) was a surprising discovery and an S-tier dish. Basically think of it as beef chow fun, but replace flat noodles with udon and add egg and bell pepper - excellent flavor profile. C3 Pan Fried Pork Bao (6 pieces - $13.00) were comparable to the ones from Kang Kang Food Court. 4.5 stars for the food with 4 items enough to feed 3 to 4 adults. I would say their noodle dishes like Beef Noodle Soup / Black Pepper Beef Fried Udon / Fujian Style Fried Vermicelli are slightly better than their dumpling dishes. Bump it up to 5-star for the excellent service. P.S. - There's another new location in Diamond Bar.

8/29/2026: Wow! Second visit almost exactly 1 year later, and this place still doesn't disappoint!…read more We pulled in to the parking lot around 8pm on a Saturday night, and the very ample parking lot was packed to the gills. There are several restaurants in the lot, but Mr. Dragon Noodle House seemed to be the busiest with several groups of people waiting outside for a table. I called and was told they're open until 9pm, but if you arrive before 8:40pm they will still seat you and you can order and dine. He quoted a 10-20 minute wait which didn't seem possible, but we took a chance and placed our name on the waitlist. I love the tablets that most restaurants in SGV use. It's so efficient! The host handed us a laminated menu and an order form after we checked in so we could figure out what we wanted even before we sat down. They get high marks for efficiency! Within 10 minutes, we were called to our waiting table. They are a well oiled machine! As soon as a party leaves, a team of 3 smiling staff converge on the table to clear the dishes, clean the table and re-set for the next patrons. We ordered our drinks and a Popcorn Chicken appetizer. Hubby says this is the best popcorn chicken he's had to date, and he's a bit of a snob! No dipping sauces needed. He ordered "No Spicy" and they brought chili powder on the side. They fried what I believe was fresh basil with the chicken and it was so tasty, I would request extra next time! It's well seasoned and crispy. The portion is easily generous enough to share with 4 or more people. Their 0% Sugar Green Tea is served icy cold in a huge beer stein, and is so refreshing! A perfect accompaniment to the meal. It comes in many flavors as well but I didn't want anything sweet. We shared an order of their Hot Oil Shrimp, Pork & Cabbage wontons in a bowl. Delicious, but if you're not a heat seeker don't forget to request it "mild". Now for what I considered the star of the table, their House Special Beef Noodle Soup. This is a dish that I love and am always looking for the best bowl.. and Mr Dragon is high up there. Don't come at me, but we had heard the hype about Corner Beef Noodle House and tried theirs last year. In an evening without a crowd we were virtually ignored when we walked in and I had to accost someone to seat us. The soup wasn't nearly as good as Mr Dragon, and their service couldn't compare. I'll have to give them one more chance. There was no room for improvement at Mr Dragon Noodle House. Beefy broth, tender chunks of beef and perfectly bouncy noodles. Yum!

I enjoyed the fresh ingredients they put at the self-serve bar including large peeled shrimp and abalone along with the sauce bar. My bowl came out to be about $17 and I was pretty full from it. After you finish eating, they give you a soft served ice cream (black sesame) which was so yummy! Anyway for the experience / service - Since it was my first time, the worker had to explain the process to me but she was sooo soft spoken, I can barely hear her so I just figured it out myself. We did bring cake to the restaurant and maybe it's not a traditional place to celebrate? But they were nice enough to help us store the cake in the fridge. However, when they brought it out for us, I guess I thought they would offer forks or a small bowl or plate for the cake. None of that was offered. We had to flag down someone and asked but the guy only gave us forks so we just looked at each other. And ended up grabbing the sauce bowls as our plates. My dad also some restrictions with biting large pieces of food so we asked for scissors and they did not have any. We ended up going next door to Daiso to buy a pair of scissors. Overall, this place is not extremely accommodating for these extra requests but the food is good. There's some happy hour but signs are not at every table so I had to zoom in on the poster to see what the deals were.
