Wecks has become a staple in our week! My team has eaten at Wecks in Albuquerque & left overwhelmed with food bliss & service perfection. Up until today that was true of this particular Wecks on Cerillos Road...Today we arrived at 12:40, they were crowded & we were told up to a 25 minute wait. We watched more people come in & be seated. We watched a party of 7 come in & the Dad put his timer on to show his kids how long it would really be. He & I laughed about it since my brother & I were there 8 minutes before him & YES I was watching the clock. After 12 more minutes that family of 7 got their table & the father & son both said this seems unfair...i told him party of 7 beats party of 2..lol! We laughed & they went on. 10 more minutes passed & my brother Terence asked have you come up to Tuffy yet. No we were told...i saw 2 parties of 2 that came in 15 minutes after us go to there tables & I got up & looked at the hostesses list...we were hightlighted & checked off...i asked why that was...they spoke in Spanish & proceeded to seat us with no apology or explanations. The hostess get a 0 for assistance, no manager came over to apologize after I stated I will contact corporate...if it wasn't for Miguel who served us, we more than likely would never return! This place was surprising. I just assumed it was a chain like restaurant but don't let the building deceive you. Inside is spacious and they churn and burn the customers through-in a good way of course. They have great customer service and are more than willing to give you their favorites. I ordered from a vast menu that offered a little bit of everything. They even had a hand made chicken fry for breakfast. I ordered a meat lovers omelet that had mushrooms, onions, peppers, bacon, sausage, ham, and a very nicely simmered and spiced pork that the name escapes me. It came with hash-Browns and a wide selection of toast. The sauce is green chili or red sauce. I got both to see which I like better and Texas toast. The toast was good but saturated with butter to where you have to wipe your hands every time you pick it up. That is my fault though, some people love their butter but not me and I should have ordered without. The green chili is good and flavorful but I think most green chili in Santa Fe is vegetarian and I like pork in mine-that being said-they have the better of the green chili I had in Santa Fe. I am a huge fan of their red sauce-a little smokey and packed full of flavor. I like to try new restaurants and try not to go back to the same place twice on vacation. Always very clean, friendly and food is consistent. Been going there for lunch and breakfast for about six months and very happy with it. Great breakfasts as well - usually averages around $15 a person for either meal. Good selection of healthy items and vegetarian dishes as well. Amazing homemade potato chips and onion rings (they are HUGE). Servers are on top of it and management always checks to make sure you are happy with food and service. read more

Big fan of Wecks! We get the breakfast burritos with both red and Green sauce. ( Christmas ) Once I got something else and pouted because I missed the Breakfast burritos. The portions are so large that we have to take some home. We got 2 bottles of Green chili sauce to take back to Greenville SC. Great service. Ah, Weck's. They said it would be a 15 minute wait. I was really not impressed. And then they turned my frown upside down. 3 minute wait untill a 6 man/women table. Waiter was right on point. Got us cups that we couldn't finish in 5 minutes, which isn't a really cool thing, it was just nice. I ordered the Pancake Combo. The pancake was really big. This just in, the 20th century is taking place in the Weck's resturant with them serving bacon and eggs on one plate, and pancakes on another. No more eating sweet and cooked eggs and bacon. I finish my drink after im done eating, no refills. Now the cups are getting a +1 on the rating. The waiter comes and gives us our check, we pay up front, and get out. My husband and I went to Weck's for breakfast this morning. Yes, the staff was all over us asking to tell them if we needed anything. We ordered and the meal arrived in short order without a 2nd helping of toast which the waited assured us would arrive in a minute. So before anything cooled down we decided to start eating-but NO cutlery or napins were to be found. So we waited for the toast & eating utensils, and waited, and waited and finally my husband went looking for someone to help us and came back with utensils. Never did get the toast. Told the waitress that the food was okay but the service was awful. Since we had 3 people waiting on us and had such bad service - that's our 1st and last time at Weck's!!!! read more

I ate at the Wecks in Santa Fe and it was a great meal don't get me wrong and the service from the hostess and the cashier were great they were very polite and asked me about my day. Her name was crystal or Christie one or the other I can not remember at the moment. The one thing that bothered me though was the manager on duty he was rude and the waitress. The waitress didn't take our drink order for over 15 minutes. Throughout the meal the waitress did not give us much attention and the manager asked how our service was and I told him what had happened and he argued rather then apologize or fix the problem. His name was CARLOS I did not forget that name because of how rude he was. I am a manager at my own business and from a managers point of view I think it is unacceptable to wear shorts when you are supposed to look professional on your job. I have eaten here multiple times and I always see him in shorts and everyone else is wearing pants. I thought he was the bus boy not a manager based on his attire. Not that there is anything wrong with bus boys but the manager should always look sharp and professional. A few people I know who are regulars there have told me the same thing about this manager CARLOS and I am surprised someone like this is actually in charge of a restaurant. P.S. Went to Wecks today, on a visit to Santa Fe! Our first time to this location, and it was great! Our server was very attentive! Our food came out fast and hot, and it was delicious! I like it. Can't understand the complaint of over friendly staff. Always seated promptly. I usually go for lunch, and have a soup and salad combination. I love their home made chips. Nicely proportioned. I like other local restaurants also, but Weck's is a nice occasional change. read more

We have been wanting to try this place such moving to Santa Fe and few months back, but their limited hours never seemed to fit into our schedule. However, this afternoon (January 12) we finally were able stop in and try things out. We got there roughly an hour before they were to close. So, I was expecting the food to be so-so, if not worse. But, to my stomach and my personal delight the service, the food, and the entire experience was GREAT. The food portions were than enough for one person and the taste was one better tasting that I've found since being here. BTW ... the onion rings are huge and too die for. The service was even greater and our waitress was the sweetest and politest person anyone could ever have. We will be back again and again ... TWO BIG THUMBS UP!!!
