After quite a few years at Bernardi service I finally decided to try another place. I've only been here once now but everything went smoothly so the verdict is still out. Making an appt was easy. The service techs were knowledgable, friendly and helpful. Check in and pick up were easy. I didn't get a car wash coupon or a car wash and believe that is a Bernardi deal since we get those from both the Toyota and Honda dealerships. I'll keep coming and hope for the best. Although I did not wind up buying a car from this dealership, the choice was made based ONLY upon the specific vehicle's included options. Price was very similar, Wellesleys fees were more straightforward, which I very much appreciated. Brianna's service was excellent. I had used the Costco Program for car shopping, and WT gave them my contact info. Brianna contacted me via email the next day, and consistently got back to me promptly to answer all my questions. Very different experience this time. I was chastised by the "Business Development Manager" for sending in separate pricing requests on two vehicles. One was the hybrid and the other was the gas model. For past few months I have been contemplating a vehicle purchase. I have used their website on a few other models. ALL have been to assist me in doing calculations for myself as to what I need, what I want, prices, and interest rates. So, after requesting the quote on the gas model, she sends me this: "All of your requests go to my department, so there's no need to keep sending in separate inquiries. My internet price on the gas model 2020 Rav4 XLE is $xx,xxx. When are you planning on purchasing a vehicle?" Seriously? This snippy and arrogant response was unnecessary and downright rude. I guess that I was supposed to just now that sending in a price request on the gas version warranted in order for me to calculate whether the hybrid was worth the higher expenditure. Evidently she's tired of doing her job. I sent her this reply: "Sorry, but I had not realized that sending in quote requests on different vehicles was the incorrect method. I made my best guess. As you requested, I will not send in separate inquiries or any inquiries at all. My apologies for any inconveniences. When do I plan on purchasing a vehicle? That's not Wellesley Toyota's concern, as I will not be buying from them." Some "business development manager." I had previously purchased a Camry here and had used their service department multiple times. I am an established customer. Toyota dealerships are plentiful in the area. And, I got better price quotes on the gas and hybrid models from another dealership in the area. Up until now I had received excellent customer service here. I am done. It costs far less to replace a rude employee than to replace a customer. You have a lost a customer. I will share this experience with friends and family and will forewarn them about the temperamental BDM. read more

I guess being cautious at a dealership for service work is a given, but I have to be extra careful here. I needed a part for my car (driver's side door handle). I called and asked for an estimate for how much it would cost to install. I was told I couldn't be given one because it depended on labor. I called back a few weeks later asking if they could just ballpark because I needed this for a legal case (this is true. The handle had been pulled off by someone). Finally, I was emailed that it would cost $700 to install plus around $70 for the part! I let several months go by because I didn't want to spend that much. After a long winter of having to get in my car through the passenger side, I caved. I couldn't find the exact match anywhere else, and my car had a airbag recall, so I had to go anyways. I picked up the part and this time was quoted $200 to install. I said no thank you and took the part home. I was also told I needed new brakes and my battery was leaking. So, I go home expecting to spend at least an hour putting this handle on. I skimmed a YouTube video, grabbed two common household tools, and set my phone timer. It took me under 4 minutes total. Would've cost $200-$700?? Anyways, all the sudden my charger port isn't working in my car. I look at the panel and a piece is missing... I go back and they fix it (for free), but I'm told this is due to my "leaking" battery. Brakes and battery repair would be about $1000 together. After the door handle, I went somewhere else. Drove the extra miles to Worcester. Brakes cost $350 and I essentially got laughed at when I asked about my leaking battery. I got sent to the dollar store for a Coca Cola, gloves, and a scrubber. $3 to get the battery acid off my battery. Unless there's anymore recalls, I hope I don't have to go back here. 2 stars because the staff is nice (although dishonest), it's very clean, and the waiting room is nice. If you need a rental for repairs, call ahead1 they always seem to be out. read more

He answered all the technical questions I had and he was very forthcoming with offering additional help if I need it. After calling 10 different Toyota dealers around Boston, I was delighted that Wellesley Toyota seemed to have the last Prius Prime 2021 in the whole North East. Ok...I know, I went in during a major rain storm, but, there was 12 people working in this place, and one girl escorted me to the front desk, where two men were arguing over some work related dispute. I just wanted to see a car I saw online. I went to the bathroom, to give these guys time to discuss their issue, came back and they were still talking, not making any effort to make eye contacts. I really liked the car I saw, so I walked around the showroom, went back to desk, and the was now in the phone. All other people were staring at their computer, one had a smirk on his face, and hen he saw I was disgusted. Which pissed me off!! This is the review for the service - I usually come here for routine service on my Toyota and have had a generally good experience. Came in today for a routine 65k maintenance and a state inspection sticker and was given the expected wait time of 1.5 hours. I was informed I would have to replace my windshield wiper blades (admittedly they had minor streaking but am confident they would have passed elsewhere). I agreed to replace the windshield wiper blades. Here we are going on 3 hours and still no car. Update: Do not get your car inspected here. I was even told last year to get an inspection elsewhere by an EMPLOYEE of this dealership because another place would have passed me with my current tires but they would not pass me unless I got new tires. So an employee basically admitted they were more strict than they need to be by state law. read more

They also gave me a heads up that the next service is a big one and gave me a quote so I can plan for that expense. I like to believe that people are generally honest, and that when taking my car to a reputable place like the Toyota dealership, I'll get an honest response. Nothing could be further from the truth with Toyota of Wellesley. My drivers side window came off it's track. I took it to Toyota, where they removed the panel, inspected the situation and then told me that my regulator and window motor needed to be replaced to the tune of $800. They informed me that the part alone was $500. They also "discovered" that my water pump was leaking coolant, and suggested I immediately replace it...for a mere $600. I looked up the window regulator and motor online, it's $53, not $500. The water pump was $45. I purchased the window regulator and took my car to a trusted mechanic (who I didn't go to in the first place because he was out of town on vacation). The mechanic took the door apart, inspected the motor and the regulator, all of which were in perfect working condition. It appeared that the window just needed to be put back on it's track. Why would Toyota inform me differently? I also asked him to inspect my coolant and water pump, while the coolant was low, the water pump was not leaking. Why would Toyota tell me it was? I understand upselling and that they need to pay for their showroom and the ugly fruit art in their lobby. But they outright lied to me about what the problem was. I had to pay $110 for their "diagnosis." Moral of the story- never take you car to a dealership, and ALWAYS check the price of parts online. read more

The rating of this review would have been 5-star if I was told about the dent on the Toyota Camry SE 2015 before I decided to come in. That would have saved me travel expense to Wellesley Toyota. However, the dent was never mentioned in my initial phone conversation, car information available on the website, and the autocheck report. Generally a good experience (3.5 stars) - I ended up buying a car from them, and am happy with it so far (just a week an a few miles into ownership). The sales staff (Kevin Kielty) was knowledgeable, experienced, and helpful. There were a couple of times in the process where there was quite a bit of waiting - waiting for the car to be moved, waiting for the business manager, waiting for a receipt - a half hour here, 40 minutes there, etc. They were busy, so I understand that it happens - try and be patient. There was another issue. Their website has a tool to do a side-by-side comparison of multiple cars that you're interested in. At the bottom of the comparison, there's a statement: "Price(s) include(s) all costs to be paid by a consumer including $399 documentation fee, except for licensing costs, registration fees, and taxes." Based on that, and the price also clearly disclosed on the website, I felt that I knew the vehicle price. Well, that wasn't the case. When we came down to pricing, there WAS a documentation fee of $375. I showed the sales person my printout of the comparison sheet and the very clear statement that there wasn't an additional fee. Nobody seemed to know anything about the clear "no additional fee", everything included price - and they had no idea how that ever got on the website. I couldn't get them to budge on fee, or on honoring the clear written statement on their website. So, bottom line is: nice people, be prepared to be patient about some waiting, and keep an eye on the costs, fees, and paperwork. read more

I bought a used RAV4 from this dealership based on family recommendations. First the miles listed and actual miles differed by +4k. Said the sales manager had driven it and not updated the miles in the listing. They apologized but did not make any adjustments to price. I decided to get the car despite this. While driving home on the highway i noticed some scratches in the inside door, a whining sound in the rear and found a tear in the tire sidewall. I brought it back they replaced the tire and a new rear axle and said it was good to go. Drove it home and when got on highway.. same noise.. so back again and they replaced bearings in 2 wheels.. So now ok but really ?? so much for their multi point used car inspections. Good service but not a fan of their sales team. read more

Lease on my Toyota was up, and not knowing what to do with my lease which had gone over the miles I was allowed, I contacted Wellesley Toyota. Lucky for me I was transferred to a very polite Zackery! He told me when he works and that he would be able to help me buy on my lease or something. I called a head and made an appointment to see him. I was given such a hard time at the Watertown Toyota that I was not really sure I even wanted to stay with the Toyota family any more. But my last 6 cars had been Toyota's, I was not going to change now unless I had to. What impressed me with this young man was that he took his time and showed me different options. With each option there was what the down would be and what the payment. He also pointed out that since I did so many miles a year I should not be leasing. Best would be a purchase with almost the same payment, but a little more down. I'm very grateful for the way my situation was handled at this dealership. I would definitely recommend anyone who is in the process of buying or leasing to check this dealer out. What made my purchase even more special was that they didn't just hand me a key and the Manuel and tell me go figure everything out. I bought a Toyota Rav from them 8 months ago, last week by engine light came on, I checked my gas cap and it was off. I secured it and the light still was on, I took it to O'Reillys and they told me they are not allowed to erase the code. I took it to Wellesley Toyota thinking that as a courtesy they could turn it off. When I got there they told me that in fact it must be because the gas cap was off, but they needed to run diagnostics. After the diagnostic they agreed that that was the cause of the light but I paid $126. Not going back again!! read more

We had a great experience with Wellesley Toyota! We had done a lot of research beforehand and Wellesley had a specific Prius we were interested in. We worked with Andrew and found him friendly, honest, and really interested in helping us through the process. The car was ready to test drive when we got there (which was not the case at other dealers). Service department is absolutely terrible. Gave my wife a hard time about a part that failed under warranty without even looking. Eventually upon actually diagnosing the problem they determined it was covered and ordered the part. Part was a backup camera which had filled with water, quite obvious visually. Once replaced the car was returned and we were told that the new camera would not have the steering lines as the original but that is normal. 90 seconds on google confirmed this was BS and they had skipped a calibration procedure, which I was able to perform at home. Next day we discovered that the rear hatch would no longer function. A bit more troubleshooting on my part found that there is a switch to disable it in the glovebox that had been moved. Not sure why they were messing with that. Will never return to this dealer, not our first run in with their incompetence. read more
