OK, I know that everyone RAVES about this place, but I work across the street, and sadly, they get my order wrong 50% of the time. I tell myself, "Don't go there anymore." However, as I stated, I work across the street, so every other month, I give them another chance. UGH, this EAST COAST girl is NOT HAPPY! They do have a large selection of cold drinks. There are a lot of donuts, specialty donuts, bagels, etc. However, how hard is it to get an everything bagel with veggie cream cheese (not chive) or a white chocolate mocha (not a chocolate mocha). I've asked for bagels with sausage and cheese, with no egg, and received an egg. LISTEN UP PEOPLE ... this is not that hard. Write it down ... don't yell it across the room. Show your customers that you understand what their order is and care that it's right. It's not cheap! As with most customers, I put my items in my bag and leave, unknowing that my order is wrong until I get to my desk ... TOO LATE. My hope is that the management reads this and take it to heart. I'm not the only one to complain. If you just walk in for a donut, you should be fine. However, if you are ordering off the breakfast/lunch menu, please ask them to repeat your order ... and then check it before leaving the store. Wendi's ... Wendis is a small chain, they cook their bagels and donuts on site and they are AWESOME. Donuts- I can't personally comment on the donut experience (everyone says they are awesome), as I am a bagel man. I will say they are very popular and the selection of gut busting sugar filled / topped / stuffed/ slathered dough rings is impressive. Bagels- Their bagels are cooked fresh every day, very slightly doughy, large sized, and fantastic. Myself and co-workers choose Wendis over every other bagel shop, including Bruegers any day. Their prices are excellent and the selection of flavors is superb........Spinach Parmesean....YUM YUM! Bonus- they don't skimp on the cream cheese! Downside- they only serve plain cream cheese! WTF? Coffee- They offer a broad selection of fresh brewed, serve yourself coffees including numerous Deitrich choices. All sorts of creamers are available at the coffee counter, including non-dairy. Of course you can also order your lattes, caps, espressos, and double ding dong upside down mocha bean frappa chiller with whipped cream and a caramel drizzle. In General- I believe the business is Vietnamese owned and run, ok maybe Korean, no Vietnamese........sorry. The store is not fancy or well organized but it's clean and non-offensive. I think they stock and will sell just about anything you can imagine. Need a vase or a pot, aspirin, cigarettes, gatorade, red bull, fresh juice, need an ATM, they might even sell dvds out the back. It's a sort of convience store disguised as a donut / bagel shop. No offense to Wendis but they are not very chatty or personable, just take the order and get it out.....which is great for breakfast on the run! They have always been nice and I have never been disapponted. They are in the business to make money but thank goodness they decided to do it by making superior products! Wendi's, I curse the day that I found you. You have forever ruined other donuts for me. I can't bring myself to spend precious calories on inferior donuts. Ill sheepishly admit we had come for Cloud 9. I rarely eat sweets, I even more rarely eat gluten, but now that I've been cured of my intolerances and chronic disease I can indulge from time to time. Because it is truly an indulgence I guard these gastronomic experiences. I didn't even think I liked donuts, ESP. Cake donuts as they are usually dry and flavorless. But I'm a purist and the plain chocolate glazed cake donut was SO GOOD. It was so good I haven't been able to stop thinking about it for two weeks. So I broke down and found a local donut shop, It was highly reviewed on yelp, people set their alarms on weekends just to get in before they sell out. I was so disappointed I only took two small bites... It just didnt hold a candle to Wendi's. My husband had their Nutella Cronut and he too feels it is the best donut he has ever eaten. I guess I'm going to be stuck driving from Carlsbad to San Juan Capistrano now for a donut. Which is good, because if they were any closer it would be dangerous. read more

First time here, brought my interest with the local app and a free glazed donut. Wow! Iv been to a few donut stores but here, they had it all. Well stocked with bagels, muffins, croissants and donuts. Not to mention 4 standing coolers of every type of drink, fruit salad, and dessert you could enjoy. The tables were granite and chairs in good condition. Lots of staff behind the counter to help morning customers. I was actually amazed how well this place looked. You could tell they took pride in their business. The coffee condiments were tidier than a Starbucks and I was helped quickly. I ordered 8 dozen donuts for a 6:30am pickup on Saturday and Wendi's Donuts came through with some amazing donuts! They were ready at 6:10-6:15am when I arrived and they were packed into four boxes for easy transport. Inside the boxes were a variety of delicious donuts that were gobbled up by the staff and volunteers at my event! Eight dozen donuts gone by 10:00am! The donuts are good but the service is the worst. The older woman whom I'm assuming is the owner is very nice, but out of the all the times I've been to the store I've only had the privilege of her service a few times. Usually the guy with the bad attitude who's always on his phone assists me. He has an I don't care expression on his face. You have to double check your order because every time he grabs the wrong donut. Not sure why it's so difficult for him. I personally have stopped going here because of him. My husband hasn't though. Needed some sort of light dessert... So I just happened to be in the area and walked in to this family run business....I asked them about "cronuts" and they had one left. I wanted to eat something that I was more familiar with, so I opted for the apple turnover. Yummy - you will not regret it. It had just the right amount of sweetness. What is NOT good is their service. Ever since employing more employees to serve clients, the service has been sub-par. This morning I had ordered a plain bagel and cream-cheese. The one Hispanic employee put my bagel I ordered through the toaster and went to unload some bagels into the case in the front. He COMPLETELY FORGOT putting my bagel through the toaster! Took an average of 7-8 minutes to get my bagel to me and at that point, the bagel was cold and I had to rush to work I will NOT be returning, due to this unfortunate event. If an employee forgets to due his job and provide the customer with what he ordered , then I'm sorry, but he should not be working in the food business. Update: On 06/26, I came in to grab a quick plain bagel with cream-cheese. I received my order promptly, but I noticed the bagel was 2x smaller than average (the bagel I received the day before) and was still charged the same price. I do not like to get ripped off or told that all the bagels in thr case are the same size (when clearly I saw that some bagels were bigger than average). Wendi's Donuts: Learn some honest and true business practices and people will like you and return to your store. I KNOW that after today, I won't be returning for good. I'm sorry... This is one of the worst donut shops I've ever been to. I politely asked a simple question about their donuts and the guy behind the counter was completely aloof. Not only did he know nothing about their Donuts but he told me that he couldn't find out anything and that there wasnt anybody who works there including the manager or owner who could answer any questions about their Donuts. I will happily take my business elsewhere and I suggest you do the same. .... You've missed my point entirely. It's perfectly acceptable not to know the answer to a question. But attitude is everything. If you expect to retain your customers business beyond that of the convenience of your location I suggest you hire employees that don't demonstrate a cavalier dismissive attitude towards your customers inquiries. He didn't show the least bit of interest in even wanting to help me with my needs. Didn't take down my number or make any effort whatsoever. He may as well have been asleep! There was a time young people didn't conduct themselves that way. People young and old alike used to try really hard at their jobs no matter what they were because they actually cared! It's unbelievable what has happened to people's attitudes. I mean first of all, it's a doughnut shop. It's pretty hard to screw up a doughnut shop. But nevertheless, this place is decent. There's nothing special really that makes them really stick out with the loads of other bakeries nearby, but then again there isn't THAT much to complain about. Service here is kind of friendly, dependent on who you order with, but usually it's fine. Wendi's also has a pretty wide selection too, specializing in the namesake doughnuts, but also having actually quite delicious bagels and smoothies. And I swear to god, the apple fritter gets them a whole extra star. I mean, If you're coming in you a meal, go ahead, knock yourself out. You probably won't be disappointed, but then again you won't be going, "Wow! That was great!" However, if you're going in for something like a quick snack, then this place will probably be for you. Better to get something small here like a bagel or doughnut than a full on sandwich when there are plenty of restaurant's nearby anyways for the same price. The only problem with this place is that it's kind of overpriced. Nothing to obscene, but you'll have moments thinking to yourself, "Really?". The donuts are not overly oily or heavy, the number of drink choices outpaces any gas station on the 15 to Vegas, the sandwiches are surprisingly good, and the service is excellent. Because this place is so popular, they tend to get swamped during mealtimes so if you see lines out the door, don't expect to swoop and get get anything quickly (although their staff powers through orders without compromising on quality).
