Found this small diner that's a local favorite. It's pretty good. Our food wasn't anything to fancy to take pics of, but it was good, nothing stellar. We both got shrimp omelettes, which was a special. No shrimp in the omelette, just across the top. We also shared a French toast. Basic. The young man who sat us was polite. But our waitress made hardly any interaction with us besides taking our order and then our payment at the end. So probably wouldn't patronize this place again. read more

Four tables were sat after us. They were served food before our food order was even taken. The mimosas were watered down. The Bloody Mary's had no vodka and were not spicy. The server that delivered our drinks gave excuses about the drinks and the other tables belonged to another waitress. Very disappointed in today's services. I started coming to this place and I noticed how the costumer service and hygiene Is very unpleasant. I went there yesterday with my friend and her niece - we ordered and my friend ordered a Mickey Mouse pancake with sausage but she was served a Mickey Mouse pancake with bacon I let the waitress know that we ordered sausage and not bacon and OMG she says ok and goes ahead and grabs the bacon with her hand , touching the pancake and walks to the kitchen!!! I was shocked and ready to leave. Unfortunately my friend didn't want to go because her niece was starving. I don't know what is up with the process for serving and cleanliness of this breakfast place. I like the food. Why haven't I been here before?! Like the Modern Diner (which is just blocks from my home), this actual diner car is on the National Registry of Historic Places. Both diners have fixed dining spaces added on to handle larger crowds. Unlike the Modern Diner, this car has been fully renovated to pristine, airy and light-filled perfection. The added space is through a narrow hallway with well-placed restrooms connecting the spaces. Here too, clean, bright & a bit more upscale but still casual and comfortable. Food here is excellent, folks! The menu is smaller than Modern Diner's with maybe a teeny bit less creativity, and fewer specials. Still, my omelet was not greasy at all (that other place's eggs can be). The veggies inside tasted fresh, not watery, even the sautéed spinach, and were cooked through but still crunchy. Picked the home fries versus hash browns - and glad I did. Lightly seasoned, great char. Yum! The blueberry pancakes had a generous amount of berries baked in not just scattered on top, Coffee was decent; the cups are too small but the wait for a refill was short. Rainy days can't keep away the brunch crowds! Was busier than when I came last week but still just as good. Cute diner atmosphere in the front and full dining area with bar through the door. Definitely much larger than you would expect from the front of the place. So no worries, you most likely will get seated in a timely manner. Small private lot and on street parking. I had the veggie omelet last week (it was just ok, a bit under seasoned but chock full of fresh veggies), I ended up with the Mediterranean omelet today and it was so delicious! Great balance of flavors with fresh spinach and diced tomatoes and saltiness of the feta cheese. Came with side of home fries and toast. Home fries were prepared well with a bit of a crust to them. Coffee was good, sometimes coffee is an afterthought and a bit watered down tasting but it was definitely a good compliment to the meal. This is a great place. Absolutely no wait which was amazing on a Saturday morning. I love diners and this one was clean and hip! They have some parking spots which is a plus. The waiters were very nice and service was quick. Menu had anything you could ever want for breakfast and they were advertising that they have a ton of nacho choices. I mean it was pretty early so I wasn't ready for nachos but I will 100% be going back to try them. Can we also talk about how many topping choices they had for pancakes/waffles. Oreos! Cookie dough! Walked in this morning to sit down and have a nice breakfast with children. However, when we sat down the server had a horrible attitude almost as if she didn't want to be bothered with serving us. I couldn't fathom sitting through an entire meal of that kind of service seeing as how when we lived here in Providence a few years ago and would come here all the time... the service was NEVER like this. Unfortunately, this experience was enough for my family and I not to return. Which sucks because this was our favorite diner in the area. Management needs to coach this particular server on being bias because as we were seated we noticed that the service she gave the table sitting directly next to us wasn't the same. I wake up feeling like my stomach is a bottomless pit and sometimes you just need a giant omelette or delicious pancakes without having to put a dent in the wallet. I have not been here for a hangover cure but I am sure it would be a great spot for just that. There's a back patio for warmer weather and not too much seating inside but I've never had to wait for a table (however, I'm an early riser!) Good food, good service, good price. I want to start by saying I've never written a review before, but this needed to be said. After hearing such great reviews from my friend about this place, I was excited to try this local spot. It was a Saturday, as busy as you would assume at 10:30, so I was ready to wait a bit. My friends and I sat patiently for about 15-20 minutes before anyone came to great us. I was giving it the benefit of the doubt, as it's a small place and it was a busy time. Our server then said she had "other tables to attend to before us" she had already said she would be back multiple times in passing. Again, benefit of the doubt, they could be under staffed. Finally she was able to take our order, after asking her to "please take a quick second, we've been waiting for a while and just want something to drink. After we watched three serves stand around and watch our server make our drinks, we were served our mimosas, and asked for a round of waters. Still no waters were served after another 10 minutes. It was now 11:10, we had our drinks, no waters, and saw another server ask to fill a dog bowl, which a server swiftly and immediately filled. Sitting there, still with no waters, after asking multiple times, and seeing your staff fill a dog bowl, right in front of us, was understandably disturbing. I understand dogs need water, but to prioritize a dog over a customer, blatantly in front of their face, is unacceptable. I then had to ask again, practically begging for waters, maybe even a second to put in our orders, the server said "yea I just have this table and that table and I'll come get you". We had to practically beg for any sort of attention. I understand the industry and how things can get busy. But to be looked at as less than a dog was dehumanizing. We then decided to take our food to go, hoping all of this would be worth a decent meal. My over-easy eggs were practically scrambled and fried rubber and inedible. This is my first and only review because I've never felt the need to express my opinion, but I have never felt so disrespected and devalued as a customer before. This will definitely be a story that I'll tell again and again because of how insane this experience truly was. read more

West Side Diner is cute as hell. And when you're hungover on the west side and want some pancakes in a highly Instagramable establishment you have found the right place. The thing is the food isn't that great. The servers are all delightful, and they serve booze now. It's a diner that serves typical American diner food. If you like this kind of food, chances are you'll like this particular diner just fine. What the other reviews don't mention though, is that this particular diner has the significance of being listed in the National Register of Historic Places. As a lover of history, I appreciate how the owners decided to save this little piece of Americana and spiffy up this little section of Westminster Street for the neighborhood to enjoy. I've been here twice. I really enjoyed my breakfast this morning and my apple cider mimosa. So,basic is what I wanted and it is what I got. I got a pepperoni and cheese omelet. WHAT?! How could something so simple not have crossed my mind before?! It was amazing and my side of fruit was as fresh as fresh can be. The French toast was delicious but the service was the worst. Our waitress took our order and that was the only thing she did. Never gave us napkins our silverware even after our food came, we had to get up to ask the other waitress to get it for us. Never came back to check on us or see how our food was. Never came back to offer me a coffee refill. Spent time flirting with the guy at the counter next to us instead. Going to make this as brief as I can. Started going here with my family n friends because we liked the food n the drinks for n early breakfast. Well the service always seemed ok. Not the most pleasant employees. No smiles here but tolerable. One day around 1pm we i decide to take a friend for a quick lunch, as soon as we sat an employee told us "We close at 2pm and we like to leave a few minutes before". My friend and I, which by the way it was her first time there. We just looked at one another but since we were hungry we stayed. Had our meal and left a bit disappointed. I returned again with my family a few weeks ago. We tell our waiters (mind you the same one that told us they close at 2pm) that we had a few more people com ing shortly. She tells us very rudely well how long because theres people waiting. There was not. Was here a few weeks ago with my wife and the wait staff was horrible! Most of the staff was on their phones and sitting around doing nothing. Our loud mouth waitress was crass and clearly playing favorites with some people she knew. She sat down with another table chatting for like 20 minutes while we waited to be served only to wait an extra 30 minutes for our food. It was not busy enough to take that long and we didn't order anything particularly complicated. I believe she just forgot about us because we weren't known there. Then she had to audacity to ask another table to leave because they had already paid and were taking up her table. There was no wait and, as i said, it was not busy enough to warrant that.
