Worst pizza ever.. it was almost floating in grease and half the pizza was missing cheese.

Scam. Their delivery is the worst I've seen in the Albany area. Late night, looks to be a great option. However, they say 45 minutes and you end up waiting at least an hour. Always pay cash, do not give them your credit card. You can't rely on them to deliver within a reasonable time and they will give your order to the first person they see upon delivery. I called to check on my order and they said it should be there any moment. I called 20 minutes later and they said "any moment he is on the way." 45 minutes later, I call and they said it was delivered. They are a scam and a waste of time, energy and resources. read more

I'm finally submitting a review for this pizza place. Every Friday or Saturday we group up at my friend and we have a LAN party and we stay up till dawn. And our favorite place to order from is this pizza place, and surprisingly it stays open till 2-3 AM maybe even more.. But we order around 2 AM and Delivery takes between 30-40 minutes depends.. sometimes a bit more than that... First time we ordered several weeks ago was just 2 pizzas, to give them a shot. We really did enjoy the half-half BBQ-Buffalo pizza and the cheese pizza was good as well. And every week we starting try more things Wings and pizzas, Subs (REALLY GOOD) ,gyros, we are not a fan of Salads so we never tried the salads. And the cool thing is that every now and then they put those free garlic knots.. They are really good. Now we haven't tried all their food yet, and not all their pizzas yet. But for now we are sticking with place. And I assumed they stay open till 3 because we call around 2 Its really good, there prices are logic as well, I would definitely recommend this place especially to college students like us and gamers who stay awake all night. read more

My quest to find the best thin-crust pizza in Albany is underway. After spending 15 years away from New York, down South and out West, my homecoming has been marked by plentiful pizza by the slice. If you've lived in Texas, you know that there you can generally only get pizza by the pie and they will look at you screwy if you ask for a slice. Also the folks who brought you Texas toast are not the same folks who favor thin crust pizza. I've been sampling plain cheese slices at different shops to allow comparisons and because I believe in the sanctity of the unadorned pizza. I've stopped in at Pizza Bella three times, so I've formed a fairly firm opinion at this point--competent but not outstanding. I've never left Pizza Bella feeling like I can't wait to come back. Certainly prices are good and the slices are fine, but to me the taste is generic. The crust was cooked pretty well, not overdone but not very crispy either. Rather, it was a bit chewy in spots. The layers of cheese and sauce pulled apart somewhat but it wasn't a disaster. The sauce did not have a rich flavor. Instead it reminded me a little of Chef Boyardee or frozen pizza, I hate to say. The slice was a bit on the greasy side but that's not the end of the world. Pizza Bella is clearly geared toward take out or delivery. The counter for eat-in is quite narrow, and often partially taken up by cardboard, a stapler, or some other object. Boxes and supplies are stacked above the drinks cooler. It's not a pleasant atmosphere for eating. Overall, I'd say "not bad," but there are many pizzerias I prefer. read more

This is a restaurant that was once, very good. Now, they have been surpassed by competitors, mainly Golden Grain. If you are going to order from Westgate, my biggest recommendation are their hot subs though the pizza is very good. Not the best in Albany, but better then most. You'll be happy with it. Cold subs are disappointing, and are "too cold" in my opinion. I have had vritually frozen lettuce on a sub before. Any breaded item is "too" breaded. Stay away from these items unless being prepared this way is your preference. Customer service from delivery drivers is excellent, and prices are average. read more

I work in the plaza and I go there for lunch all the time. Besides having great slices I love their chicken wings, mozzarella sticks, and chicken sandwiches. Pretty much everything is delicious. Incredibly reliable delivery. I go to Siena College and they are always on time and are very nice when I meet them. Their products are amazing - the calzone is just super massive and delicious, comes with 4 toppings. One of my favorites in the capital region for pizza. Useful for late night, as they have even delivered after 4 a couple of times. Love this place! read more

I ordered a supreme mix pizza but they delivered a plain one. I called and then they told me they would come switch them out. I asked the supervisor what he meant? He said the driver had mine and he would come get this one from me to deliver to its rightful owner. Are you kidding me? This place is a rip off. Minimum $12 to deliver and then they tack on an additional $1 if delivering to a hotel. Hope the $1 is worth it for them for losing future business. Blames the customer for placing the wrong order. My son ordered 2 items online and waited nearly an hour for his delivery. When his order arrived (after going to the wrong address) he received a sausage pizza instead of the cheese pizza he ordered. When we called to have the order fixed and either a new pizza delivered or credited we were told we ordered the wrong thing online and it was our fault. What happened to the customer is always right? No one in our house eats sausage pizza, we wouldn't have ordered this pizza. They refused to honor the order or give a credit and they were extremely rude. We are stuck paying for a pizza no one will eat and without dinner. read more

The hours listed are incorrect they're actually open until 4 am. Great service and fast delivery. I was staying at the Cresthill Suites and they actually deliver right to your hotel room. Pizza taste ok but who cares if you're ordering that late. l'm sure you're drunk and don't care how it taste. read more

Its obvious why people say its good,when they get what they ordered. I was waiting 15 minutes at 3.30 - a slow period - on 15th March, only to discover they had 'forgotten' to make and place my order in the ovens. The reason was obvious. The staff were too busy talking to each other or on their phones. read more

The crust on the Sicilian style pizza was terrible but the toppings were great. The crust tasted and felt like cardboard. Apparently their regular crust pizza is really good. I doubt I will go here again though, because the Sicilian was such a disappointment (especially because it looked so good!). read more

I've ordered from Pizza Bella many times. I can say there pizza is awesome, but I recently placed an order to my home. I bought a Italian mix sub and a chef salad, and 2 slices of pizza. When I got my bill they charged me $6.00 dollars for 2 slices. That's a rip off, when I called to complain the girl that answered the phone said they charge more for slices for delivery. She was very rude and would not tell me her name. I called later and a gentleman answered and said that's what they charge. Well, I guess that's that. I'LL NEVER PLACE AN ORDER THERE AGAIN. read more

It's tough to give this a star rating. I have found food I really like here, but none of it is pizza with red pizza sauce. I have ever tried cheese pizza with the standard red sauce and added sauce I like from the grocery store but it wasn't good enough. What I usually order is a pepperoni pizza roll with plain chicken. The pizza rolls don't have sauce in them, only on the side for dipping, I promptly throw that out and use Prego pizza sauce from the grocery store. Or I get bbq chicken pizza which doesn't have red sauce. I don't think I've had much else other than the garlic knots which are sometimes too garlicky or the sweet corn nuggets which are great. The place is often very busy and I don't think English is any employees first language so sometimes your order is a little wrong or completely wrong. After 5pm they offer any 3 slices for the price of 2 which is good if you want a combination of slices or leftovers. read more

After being a loyal customer for years, usually corporate orders or pick up orders, I ordered from this place at my home twice, maybe three times. The first time was ok. Not as good as other times but ok. This time however my pizza was raw. I called to complain and was offered a free pizza. I told them I was cooking the first one to see if it was able to be edible and they said that is fine. No comment on returning it for the fresh cooked only cheese pizza they offered as an apology. The driver arrived and tried to tell them I ate it all. I scraped toppings off 2 pieces and that is all that was edible. Was happy to return the rest. Was told that wasn't good enough and that I was basically left with an inedible pizza and mediocre salad after dropping 25 on food and giving them a 7 tip when it first came. After calling back again, I was only offered the base cost of the very under cooked pizza, no tax back, no apology, no anything other than attitude. I have spent 1000's with their business through various events and offices, and I will never ever return here again. The customer service was disgusting and my food was horrible. Shame since I used to love them till they decided to treat the customer like garbage after sending out uncooked food. Shame on you Westgate Pizza. read more

Some of the best and most consistent pizza in Albany! The staff is very friendly and courteous. I always get the pizza with fresh mozzarella, basil, red pepper, and chicken. Their Garlic Knots are as good as they get, even by NYC standards. They are open late and their slices taste fresh even at 1:00 in the morning. Based on the poor reviews from last year I would assume the owner/staff made the necessary adjustments because I can't imagine giving anything less than a 4-Star review. I have recommended Westgate Pizza Bella to friends and they also agree with my assessment. I have not used their delivery service but while at the shop the drivers don't waste time standing around and BSing. They seem to take the orders and leave. I am happy to have a great pizza place so close to my house. read more

Not good!!! I ordered from Westgate on 7/19/2015 via GrubHub. I usually order my pizza from a different place but Westgate had decent reviews on GrubHub so I thought I'd give it a try. GrubHub gives you delivery window for your food once you place the order. The order was supposed to arrive at 7:40pm (I ordered at 6:30pm). By 8:15pm my order still hadn't arrived. I called Westgate and in a hurried response (didn't even ask me my name, order number, or address to identify what order I was referring to) the man told me it would be at my house in 2minutes. My order didn't arrive until 8:25pm. I also was charged a $0.99 fee for the delivery. When I finally received the food there was a menu in the bag and the menu said they do FREE delivery. I wrote a complaint to GrubHub and they said they spoke with the restaurant and Westgate was unwilling to refund me my $0.99 for the very late delivery and discrepancy since their menu said delivery was free. I really don't care about a lousy $0.99; it was the principal of the matter. GrubHub was great and refunded me the tip I gave to Westgate. Kudos to GrubHub but I will never order from or recommend Westgate. On top of all of this, the food wasn't too good either. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. This was one of the worst pizza experiences I have had. It took over two hours to get my order. The driver typed the zip code in wrong, so instead of calling to figure out the correct address, he decided to just do nothing for over an hour. I called to figure out what was going on and they offered a free pizza for the next time, oh okay because I would never order from here again. So not only was this my first time ever ordering from here, they think I would do it again after this? They wouldn't refund my food even though it showed up over an hour late and ice cold. Can't tell whether or not it tasted good considering how cold and congealed the cheese was. Also I paid online and I added the tip in which the driver got to keep! I will be spreading the word. Don't waste your time, whether or not you enjoy this place just remember when they mess up , they will value you as a customer or do much of anything to keep you. read more
