Quick bite to eat, my wife and I headed to the bar on 1/19/24 Saturday night. We ordered the spinach artichoke, two cheese burger w/fries and side salad. Food was amazing!!! The drinks we ordered two Pineapple colada(I think) tasted like a Pina colada and one margarita(don't remember the name. I'm pretty sure I messed up the drink names, but you should definitely check out this restaurant. Kudos to our waitress named Sage(hopefully I spelled her name right, if not I apologize), but her customer service was . Thank you Sage, for being gracious and great mixologist !!! We did a little get away to get out of the house. Booked a room at the hotel so our daughter could swim. We treated ourselves with a nice dinner. Ambiance- beautiful inside. Very elegant. Most people were dressed up a bit. Very welcoming. Food - we started with the charcuterie board. It was myself, my husband and my 9 year old daughter. The board is enough for probably 4 people. It was really good. My husband ordered the NY strip. I ordered the crab cakes. Then we split au gratin potatoes. My daughter had a pizza from the kids menu. Everything was delicious. Steak cooked to perfection. Crab cakes all crab barely any filler. Yum! We got the 7 layer chocolate cake and tiramisu to go also so good. Service- Mary was our server. She was awesome! My husband and I went last night for the first time for our anniversary. The atmosphere is lovely, and we were seated immediately for our 6pm reservation. We started out ordering drinks, my husband said it was one of the best sangria's he has ever had. My drink was on the specials menu and was very good. We ordered the charcuterie board and bang bang shrimp for appetizers and both were excellent! Order the lobster bisque and that was good but we have had better. I ordered the poached maine lobster risotto which was very good and he got the 10 oz prime bone-in filet which again he said was one of the best steaks he's ever had (I tasted a piece) and he wasn't wrong! This place is a frequent visit for myself and my husband for a good date night. Service is always friendly and kind. Food is always good, and you can dress up or dress more casually without feeling out of place. Lots of different variety of people are always at this place. I had such high hopes for this place. Went in between lunch and dinner, so we could only order off of the bar menu. That would have been okay, but people to the left and right were able to order off of the lunch and dinner menus. I asked if we could (after seeing their orders), and the answer was no. We got a cheeseburger which was good, after we took off the raw bacon and the worst looking tomatoes ever. Seriously, it's the summer. Use some local produce. No excuse for the bacon or tomato. I ordered the prime rib French dip with Gruyère and horseradish sauce. This sandwich was worse than an Arby's sandwich. There is NO way in h#ll they used prime rib. It was overcooked, crap roast beef lunch meat. It clearly was not prime rib. If that was Gruyère, I'd be amazed. It was cold and congealed and had no flavor. The horseradish sauce had no heat. This was a disgrace. Even worse, I went into the bar bathroom, and could not even use it. I had to use the men's bathroom, with my husband standing outside. In the women's room, one toilet was clogged and the other was clogged and totally covered with urine on the toilet seat and the floor. Since there were only a few people in the bar area, and none of them had used the bathroom, I can't imagine how long that situation was there. I told the bartender about it, and it appeared that she told a floor manager about it. We were there another 20-30 minutes, and no one went into the bathroom to clean it. That was the last straw for us. You could not pay me to eat here again. Such a shame. read more

I went back on a Friday for my return visit. My second visit was not as good as the first service was very disconnected and the vegetables were awful like they weren't even cooked. The fillet mignon was good but aside from that it wasn't very good and didn't warrant the upscale price. I am amending my initial 5 star review and reducing it to three stars. Note to self do not sit on the outskirts of the bar you won't be able to hear the other person talking to you at your table. read more

Really a 3.5 but im rounding up. A surprisingly beautiful atmosphere on the ground floor of a Hyatt Place. Nice tables and booths in an upscale modern take on a steakhouse. The drinks were spot on. I had a Dirty FDR martini. Turkey meatball appetizer was a good idea but not well executed. My wife loved her salmon and the Turkey pot pie was impressive. The steak looked great too. The paella was disappointing. It was a poor imitation of what's supposed to be a stunner of a dish. The server and hostess were young and did ok, but they need better training. There's a certain level of service you expect at $400, and I got a decent TGI Friday's service experience instead. read more

We had reservations for Sunday brunch which was also on New Year's Eve. Last year we had Sunday brunch on New Year's Day and paid the regular $39 a person. When we got our bill for this most recent brunch we were charged $59 a person because it was a "holiday" brunch. Nowhere on their website or Facebook page was it advertised they were raising the price. They advertised a special Christmas Eve buffet for $59 but it was not a brunch. After I voiced my concerns with the manager the price was adjusted to the regular price as it should have been. There wasn't even any notice when you checked in they raised the price. The food was worth $39 but definitely not $59 as it was their standard Sunday brunch buffet. read more

Brand new and the staff was very nice so ill cut them some slack but for a "steakhouse" they really need to step it up. I was served a bone in ribeye that was not properly seared , so the fat wasn't rendered and it literally tasted like fry oil. While the manager was very understanding and agreed about the sear , I still had to ask and wonder why a chef would ever let a steak like that come out to be served to someone. Wifes ny strip came out looking the way it should, so it should have been even more obvious. I seriously don't think I would ever be upset if the server came up to me and said 'you know, your steak came out and it wasn't up to our standard, we'd like you to please wait so we can make another " they did take it off of the bill, but I wanted a good steak and I was prepared to pay Mozzarella was ok, nothing to disown your favorite Italian spot over but not disgusting or anything. read more

Westside Grill is the Lehigh Valley's newest steak house, according to the Morning Call. Located in the Hyatt on Grange Rd, in Trexlertown, the place is big, loud, very brightly lit and ... expensive. Our dinner for two tabbed at $175 before tip. That included two steaks, one side, four glasses of one of their better cabs, plus a beer and a Manhattan. I had a bone-in ribeye ($55), playmate had a 6 0z. filet ($49). We shared a side of potatoes au gratin ($11). The food was excellent. Our steaks were cooked exactly as requested and the au gratin was one of the best sides I've ever had. Creamy, cheesy ... just really good. Entrees took upwards of 50 minutes to come out, but the place was very crowded and our server checked back often to make sure our throats didn't get parched from shouting so much (see below) without alcohol to soothe our larynges (it's the plural of larynx; I looked it up). So, register that as a very minor complaint. Now let's talk about what you're really paying for in a place like this: ambience ... atmosphere ... vibe. A restaurant serving $50 entrees (in the Lehigh Valley) should ooze class and intimacy. Westside Grill was so loud that we had to make our server shout the specials, and even then could barely hear her. Granted, she was wearing a Covid mask. But a person three feet away from you shouldn't have to shout to be heard. They're competing with Top Cut but their aura is more like the Top Diner. Issue number 2 was the size of my Manhattan. I don't mind paying close to $20 for a drink in a fancy restaurant. But please ... give me some value (meaning, "don't skimp on the bourbon"). It was disappointingly small. I get Manhattans almost everywhere -from casual bars like the 1760 House to destination restaurants like Apollo Grill, Limeport Inn and Savory Grill. Westside's Manhattan was among the smallest I've ever seen. Worse yet, it had shards of ice floating in it, despite me asking it to be served up. Also had a minor issue with the draft beer list. When our server was reading them off, she mentioned that they had "Southern Tier." I asked what Southern Tier brew they had on tap (they make about two dozen beers). It confused her. She kept repeating "Southern Tier," as if it was the name of a beer, not a brewery. I settled on a Bells Two-hearted, to avoid creating more confusion. Bottom line: If Westside Grill wants to charge big city prices for its drinks and entrees, it has to do more than serve great food. It also has to sweat the small stuff like, well, the intimacy of its atmosphere and the skill level of its bartenders and waitstaff. The place is new and certainly deserves a little patience - especially in these crazy times. But they're competing against some very, very good restaurants (see above for a partial list), and right now, they're getting spanked. read more

I have been to this restaurant a number of times and have always been pleased with the food. However, yesterday was a disappointment. My husband enjoyed his steak but the scallop and shrimp risotto was not up to their normal standards. The risotto had no seasoning, the shrimp were overcooked cocktail shrimp that were cold, not sauteed as the description states. The scallops, which were on the small side, were also overcooked, pan seared on one side and the muscle was not removed. I did tell the waiter my concerns and he said he would let the kitchen know. I will try the restaurant again, but not the scallop and shrimp risotto. read more

Tonite was my spouses birthday. I don't know where to begin with our disappointment. It took 30 minutes just to get a glass of water. That was after waiting 20 minutes and speaking to the hostess. She was young and inexperienced and instead of apologizing offered excuses..."tonite was our first happy hour" I responded oh should I have chosen another night? Our waitress pleasant but spent more time chatting than working, see pic. Took video but it would not upload. Manager Eileen brought wrong beer to my spouse and when he told her it was wrong she said " this is what they gave me. Oh and it was very noisy. The table next to mind spent quite a bit of time trying to pay his bill. Waving it around so hard his crefit card flew out (this was post happ hour). He finally marched up to.the register to pay and thecstaff person disappeared for another 10 minutes. The misteps of this evening were just unbelievable. These are just a few. This is my second chance for this venue and not much has changed from my first review. What a shame for the prices and the named owners. Fingers crossed that this gets figured out. Extremely disappointing! 45 minutes before we got drinks, 2 steaks luke warm and flavorless, lamb chops were under cooked and cold to touch, to be fair, 1 entre was very good (crab cakes). Lamb chops were sent back to be reheated and it had been taken off our bill. Sides- spinach was good, lobster mac was ok, augratin potatoes the potatoes weren't cooked all the way and wasn't very hot. Server was nice. After the horrible dinner we chose to go somewhere else for dessert. And these are just the highlights, there were more bad things. Wow! What a beautiful restaurant with a relaxed steakhouse vibe. I was greeted by the nicest hostess and servers who were extremely attentive. Vanessa was so informative and helpful. The food was amazing. I ordered a hodge podge of items so I could try them. I had the sirloin tips which were cooked beautifully with a really nice flavor. I also had probably the best creamed spinach ever! It was even better than my grandmother's - sorry Grandma! The mashed potatoes were creamy and flavorful. I had an appetizer of mozzarella sticks which were perfectly crunchy on the outside but cheesy on the inside. This place got it right! And to top it off, the chocolate lava cake was sublime! I reserved on Open Table. Brought my 97 year old mother. I asked for a booth where we could sit together not across from each other. There was 2 available. They said none available. One was taken and the other was for owners coming in. I took the one across from each other with table way too wide. She couldn't hear me or see me. 10 min later they sat two guys from bar in the table next to us that could have allowed my mom close to me and her comfortable. Restaurant is expensive. Dinner had no taste. How do you ruin a Caesar salad. Bolognese was terrible. We both had wine. She hated her Pinot Grigio. So to cheer her up ordered coffee with Baileys. Coffee took over 20 min and arrived luke warm. Will never go back. Oh and father and son next to us barely ate their meal either. read more

Decided to try the new location. I was a bit disappointed on a number of fronts. When we arrived, it seemed the hostess had no idea how to seat us since she stood there looking at the ipad to find us a table for a few minutes before going to find a Server when the place was full of open tables. What seemed to be a Manager finally came over to seat us and explained the hostess was new. Got seated and ordered drinks. They changed servers on us after the drink order. Waited for quite a bit before the server came back for the order and finally the drinks. I assume there were no specials since there was no mention of any. I ordered first which included French onion soup and my husband ordered a vegetable panini and they were out of vegetable paninis. How can you be out of bread and vegetables. He didn't have a backup plan so needed another few minutes to look. She came back with my soup before she even took his order! That is so odd. On top of that, the soup was only slightly warm. Warm enough to eat but that was it. I have never gotten French onion soup that wasn't piping hot. Clearly it had just been sitting in the kitchen. The rest of the food was good, not excellent and it came with $100 tab. They definitely need to step it up. Not sure we will go back for that service or price! read more

This restaurant is quite attractive. However, the noise level is extreme. Difficult to hear across the table. The staff could not have been better with excellent presentation and attentiveness. Our server was one of the best we have had in quite some time. So why only 3.5 stars? My wife had lobster which she says was very good but was only warm on serving. My strip steak was actually cool, but likewise had good flavor. The lobster Mac and cheese however, was cool, dry, and little flavor. Our server was overwhelmed by the number of tables she had to service. So I think a better system needs to be in place to deliver the entrees more expeditiously when they are prepared. The desserts also were very good. They still may be having growing pains, so I would try this again after a few months. The problem also may be related to having enough staff which has affected many other similar businesses. I feel certain the owners and management will move forward and the restaurant will thrive. read more

HUGE disappointment!! Went tonight for my birthday. Our server was OK at best. Gave us 1 bottle of water on a hot day. Didnt even fill all 4 glasses. Then seemed annoyed when we asked for more. We were without drinks most of the night. We were given one set of silverware for everything then had to get up and get our own after asking many times. Apps were disappointing. Spinach artichoke and creamed spinach were the exact same thing. I order a filet medium rare that had NO juice. Driest steak with zero flavor. We ask for additional steak sauces and she brought us one for four people. Mind you we all ordered a sauce and got none. Bread was so sour and raw dough tasting. Never asked how everything was. We had to stack our own dished so she would take them. Very inattentive. Usually you hear about new places, I should of been leery when I hear nothing about this place. All show No Go!! read more
