We've tried supporting them multiple times, but after continuously poor experiences I need to share my 2 star review. First: the ingredients. Everything tastes cheap. Honestly it tastes like enriched white flour with generic store bought cheap ingredients. If you're used to picking the cheapest flour, cheese and marinara sauce from Walmart this might taste similar, but if you have a palate that's used to high-quality ingredients, this just tastes cheap. The pizza crust is always extremely dry, flavorless, and there's no oil or crunch at the bottom. It's just bland. There's nothing worse than unmemorable calories but that's exactly what this is. Next: customer service. We've ordered pre-covid-19 and during. Pre-covid we were never greeted, never thanked for grabbing our order and if we asked for anything like extra marinara it was never given. Now that we're in the middle of it, we've waited in our car when they said they'd bring it out, but instead it was left in under artificial heat until we walked inside. Fool me once ok. But say it twice and I'm actually upset, especially if I'm waiting in my car a half hour longer than I need to and I have a type one diabetic sitting next to me who needs food when it's ready. Here's my story with Westside: I had previously ordered from them several times. They are pricier than Domino's however you definitely pay for pizza that's higher in quality and greater customer service. If you become a regular you'll occasionally receive coupons in the mail that offer spectacular deals. I once fed a whole group of 10 from Westside for under $45. That's a pretty smokin' deal for quality pizza. I must have decided to order in the wrong day or something but my most recent experience upset me so much I considered never ordering from Westside again. I placed an order with an incredibly nice man and upon hanging up realized I'd forgotten to apply a coupon that would have brought the price way down and gotten me a liter of soda. I immediately called back and ask if I could please apply the coupon. The man who I spoke to was different, a complete asshole. He gave me such a hard time and told me everything he could to try to convince me not to do it. I understand it was rush hour and it's my fault I forgot to apply the coupon in the first but don't be mean and say "Oh, geez, why didn't you do it when you placed the order, because now I gotta refund you and process the whole thing again. Do you really want me to do that? Ugh, okay." He literally said UGH. What the heck dude! I would have been fine if he had nicely told me how difficult the process would have been, I probably would have accepted the loss and move on. But he was such a jerk! I ended up telling him to forget it and hung up. I then called back asked to speak to the manager and THE SAME JERK answered saying it was him! So I hung up and decided to just swallow the loss. But wait, there's more... My order swiftly arrived (like always, great delivery service) and I couldn't believe what I saw when I opened the box. MY LARGE PIZZA WAS A MEDIUM. Almost smaller than a medium. I don't usually get this salty and I hate being Karen but this ticked me off even more. Whatever, I ate the damn pizza and it was still dang good. I felt so ripped off and I wasn't planning on ever giving Westside another dollar again. Next day, it still crossed my mind (yeah yeah I should've just gotten over it. it's freaking pizza) so I called them back. I wasn't expecting a refund, I just wanted to let them know about the certain employee. Would have been a good coaching for him. The rep was absolutely wonderful. After explaining the situation he offered to refund my entire order, no questions asked, and promised to speak with the abhorrent individual. Because of this quick, easy resolution I will continue to order from this Westside location. The outcome was even better than I expected, and for that I truly appreciate it. Our first visit to the pizza joint I heard is the best pizza in town and we weren't disappointed. I would rate it right up there with Pixel Chick, which is now no more. We had the gluten-free crust and they gave us the thick gluten Crest and thinner gluten free crust to try, which i wouldn't have even thought about without their offering. Westside Pizza is a nice little place shoved into a strip mall not too far down from the Overland Walmart and the city's largest Edwards movie theater complex. You might miss it if you're not looking, and you might miss the turn if you're passing by it on the west-bound side of the road. The question today is, should you make sure to make that turn? Here's the thing. Do you enjoy eating in spaces with a chrome-polished medical center cleanliness? If you answered yes, then Westside is ideal for you. Contrary to last week's Flying Pie, you won't find any cutesy plastered papers on the walls or hilarious soda fountain puns. Instead, you'll be greeted with a clean, shiny, orderly grouping of tables and chairs and the convenient drone of whatever sports game is likely to bring people in that week. Perhaps they haven't found the thing that "makes them cool" yet, but you could probably walk out of Westside and into any brand new sports bar and not know any different. The atmosphere was effectively nonexistent. The staff were friendly in the sense that they seemed thankful they didn't work in a Little Caesar's. Nothing to complain about, but nothing to praise. But of course, sometimes the quality of the pizza can be so good, it makes you forget about all your little disappointments in life. So, how was it? Well we ordered up a "Grand" sized pizza, half of it pepperoni and the other half was a specialty called "Veggie Gourmet," which boasted artichoke hearts, pesto base, and sun-dried tomatoes. The size chart in Westside claims "Grand, Large, Medium, and Small," but what we got out of a Grand felt like the same as what you'd get at Little Caesar's. No inches to help you confirm, either, but lemme tell you, the "Grand" is not so big as it might sound. The price, for the pizza and one drink (everyone else in our party got water), came out to around $30. -Pepperoni- Westside could probably boast their Pepperoni as their signature. To be honest, the visit was not my first in my tasting of their pizza. But in all my experiences with their pizza, no specialty has yet beat their pepperoni. But this isn't necessarily a compliment. It's good, nothing great. The sauce has a solid mixture of spices, the peps are toasted well (but not quite crunchy, unfortunately), and the cheese plays its part right. You eat it and go, "This is pizza, yep." And then you remember the price tag and you start to wonder if you shouldn't have just hit up the ol' LC. -Veggie Gourmet- The artichoke hearts were cut very large, which I like. The tomatoes, however, seemed almost absent. I'm pretty sure they were on there, but they were hidden under the layer of cheese. I know I tasted them at times, but it was hard to identify any thoughts towards the tomatoes because my buds were being severely overwhelmed by the thick pouring of pesto. Pesto base is generally a favorite of mine, but I have to say that it felt like a little much here. It wasn't awful, but it was even more mediocre than the pep. -Verdict- Westside is the kind of place you go when your dad wants to watch The Big Game and you want to eat pizza and browse Tumblr while pretending you get along with your dad's interests. FOOD: I went in in time to get the $1 pizza slices and was told fresh ones would be coming out shortly so I waited and it took about 6 minuets which was also the quoted time. When I got my pizza (pineapple and ham), I took off one of the pineapples and it just kind of tasted not fresh.
