When San Francisco gets a sunny day it is most likely that you feel it sunnier in the Mission. The microclimate in San Francisco gives neighborhoods like the Mission to receive more sun. One place to cool out and enjoy an ice dessert is on 16th street. They have many flavors of ice cream. They say every weekend in the Mission is Cinco de Mayo and you can enjoy a good treat at the corner of 16th and Julian street at Nieves Cinco de Mayo. On a Mission extended Summer but still Autumn stroll on 16th street I stepped inside Nieves Cinco de Mayo and was overwhelmed with so many different choices of ice cream. The ice treats come in all flavors but I wanted to try something I haven't tried before. I first got the rose pedal ice cream and it was creamy and tasty. It was more savory than sweet and it was just the way I like an ice treat. I then got the cheese ice cream and I thought it would be cheesy but it was savory and the cheese was not as creamy. You can taste the cheese bits in each bite. These ice cream are soft but the taste is solid and the ice cream doesn't get soupy even after a half hour of still enjoying it. Go inside" Nieves Cinco de Mayo" on 16th street where ice treats make people on a hot day "smile " they have ice cream by the "pile" with different deserts made in an authentic Mexican "style " The Mission is where in San Francisco my family "settle" lived between the barrio and the" ghetto " far from Conservatory of Flowers in Golden Gate Park's by "Peacock Meadow" but you can go on 16th street and enjoy ice cream at Nieves Cinco de Mayo with flavors like cheese and " rose pedal"

A mark of softness and not too sticky or hard on the outside. I was scared since the middle is always the best, but thankfully after gobbling up the middle, the rest was also soft on the inside albeit with a slightly harder exterior. Great morning bun. They also sprinkled cinnamon on top, reminiscent of having a nata. Beauty. The Tea Rx was BIG. I was not ready to be so caffeinated, served cold it has a hint of sweetness, no dryness or bitterness as with some teas. Just be prepared to nurse it, not chug it in 15 mins like me. There was also lovely decoration with works from local artists. I sat facing away so didn't actually enjoy it that much but crooned my neck to see what's up. I think I might have ordered the wrong thing, and there were a wide selection of other tasty-looking pastries in the display case. If I come back to this bakery, I might try the concha or the roll cakes!
