He took our specific orders and made sure they were exactly how we wanted. Let him know our fries had been undercooked previously and he even got them done extra crispy as I requested. Excellent customer service. Restaurant was being cleaned as we were there...it was right after lunch rush. Looked good and smelled good. Nothing beats a freshly prepared Whataburger (with grilled onions) and hot fries on a cold winter day! Add in a freshly brewed iced tea and a hot cinnamon roll and you have heaven in Texas! The Whataburger on North Beach Street is my family's Whataburger of choice. They are friendly and courteous and their food is deliciously tasty. Whether we dine in or order takeout the service is fast and friendly. I'm still trying to get used to the recent remodel where they used freestanding tables and chairs. This review is specifically about the Western Center location just west of 35. First I wanted to make sure that the quality of the meal is addressed. All things considered meal was a 4 out if 5, but... Burger (initially), not how it was ordered. Fries when onion rings were ordered, and for some reason, no carbonated drinks (likely CO2 was not ordered on time or system simply not working). The first time (yes, there was a return trip), I got the meal all the way to the house, opened it and saw fries. This made me de ide to read the order taped to the bag and it was not my order. Went back to let them know and they asked for my name. I told them and they then presented me with the food, that was ordered and made about 25 minutes ago, and they felt it was taken care of. I went to my car and in handling the food, found out it was room temperature. So, against my better judgment, I went back in and let the crew know that the food was unacceptable. So they let me they would "remake it." I said that would be fine. Less than 3 minutes later they brought my food out, letting me know it had been redone. I have, many decades ago, worked in fast food. So the double fried onion rings I recognized right away. I had shared with the crew that I was not in a hurry and that I would wait without any pressure or complaint. The crew looked like there were no adults in charge. Although the food is good here, the price has gone up and the service has gone down. I have been inside the store, the place is always a bit dirty, but in any case, this review is mainly for the drive thru. The speaker to order needs to be replaced or the communication system altogether. Once again, I ordered today, but somehow when I received my order part of it was missing. The delivery girl said, "oh well, you weren't charged for it, which is not the point. I was very pleased with the lady who was taking orders at drive thru! She read my order back to me(I customized my two burger meals) and got everything correct. I have to take into consideration that every Whataburger location I've gone to is s-l-o-w. You wait every time you go, but it's okay because you know your food will be fresh. We normally get breakfast because the honey butter biscuits are to good to pass up for a quick, on the go meal. But we love their burgers too. On this trip, I ordered the Monterey melt subbing spicy ranch for regular. Hubby got the whataburger (#1) with no tomatoes or lettuce, add cheese and bacon. Both were DELICIOUS and hot! Specific to this visit though, the side entrance had the left lane closed so traffic was a bit backed up on this visit. I even considered climbing the curb just to get in because I was turning left into the parking lot and holding up traffic behind me since there was also someone coming out but they couldn't move because their lane was stopped at the light, didn't have anywhere to go. It was a little mess. All things considered, I didn't take any stars away because the food was exactly how I ordered it, the staff was pleasant and the traffic situation eventually thawed out once the light turned green. Now, I will start this off by saying I love Whataburger. I mean, it is a full on obsession. I have the flying W painted on my garage wall. I was pretty bummed with my most recent visit. I ordered a salad and a bunless burger on the app for curbside pickup. I pulled up to my space and checked in and was given about 10-15 minutes until my food would be ready. There weren't many cars (surprisingly) at the location so I didn't think it would take the full time to get the food. I actually waited an extra 10 or so minutes after the designated time, which I thought was weird being that it wasn't busy. When the food was delivered, there was no apology for the wait, which also kind of bummed me out. Then, when I brought the food home, there was no plastic ware for my salad. Not too sure what happened there. Thankfully I was just taking it home. The food was awesome, as always. No complaints there! I can fully understand the time it takes to prepare the food. There were difficulties in communicating my order due to the speaker box. For the dessert portion I noticed chocolate chip was noted but I received a sugar cookie instead. Most ghetto third shift (11pm-7 pm) crew ever. I've been to this location several times late at night when I'm either returning from the airport or from a night out on 7th Street when you want to take the edge off of the alcohol. Every single time, my dining experience seems to get progressively worse. For starters, I'm constantly greeted by tables that have napkins, empty condiment packages and other trash from the moment that I walk in. The front end staff is in the back yapping loudly with other employees while the drive-thru line outside gets longer, as well as the line inside. My advice: shut y'alls yappers!!! My order of a #1 combo meal (a traditional WhataBurger hamburger with fries + drink) gets mistaken for chicken tenders, fries and no drink. This leads me to ask the question of how you can mess up a #1 combo? Meanwhile, the loud girl that is my cashier continues to have a conversation over her shoulder, obviously not paying attention to my order (as well as not caring, apparently). While getting my dine-in number, my correct order is served in a to-go paper bag. I mention to the employee that I was dining in, to which she asks me if I need a tray? I'm polite, asking her for a tray when I could've easily said that I'll just pour my food on the dirty table and eat like a hog in a pen. All the while, some random guy comes into WhataBurger and asks folks for money while the employees just snicker & laugh. When it was time to leave, I nearly slipped on the floor due to more garbage strewn next to the waste receptacle. I've been to this WhataBurger in the morning (around 9-11 am), and the employees that work then aren't like this. Purely a night & day difference between that of the 3rd shift. Although I may patronize other WhataBurger locations in the Metroplex in the future, this one is now one that I'll avoid, especially when the JV team of the 3rd shift is working. read more

I've heard a lot about Whataburger and I had it last time I was in TX in December; my boyfriend got me the honey chicken breakfast sandwich but this is the first time I actually paid attention to what he was ordering. We went through the drive thru for a quick dinner, he suggested I tried the BBQ chicken strips sandwich. And OMG. OHMYGOD. It was SO good. The BBQ sauce isn't like your typical BBQ sauce. It appears the manager who was working at the window whom was taking my order gave us an attitude that is disrespectful at best and in another situation may have caused an altercation all because when we pulled up to the window.
