This was one of the BEST burger's i have had at a Whataburger. The Doublemeat Jr w/ cheese was so tasty! I also ordered the prickly pear drink which is amazing!! I love this drink! I always come to this location when working. Today, I did have to wait awhile for my fresh strip sandwich but it's usually worth the wait. It was missing a whole strip and I politely asked for a new one. Then they came back with that and a fry and cookie. I only ordered the sandwich. Not sure how long the new manager has been there, but he sure knows how to run a restaurant! I was very impressed on how clean the establishment was and my order was accurate and was ready in about 5 minutes after I ordered (despite me requesting specific ingredients). The staff are always very nice and respectful. I applaud the manager for his outstanding work. Every single table that wasn't in use was nice and clean. Orders came out fast and accurate. Again I am very impressed with the management. This has to be one of, if not the best Whataburger location in San Antonio. My hat goes off to the management as well as the employees. I drove all day, meeting friends and ran errands. At the end of day, I just want some wholesome meal. The only place came to mind was Whataburger. For being an out-of-towner, I can only relate to familiar foods. I ordered a chicken fajita taco meal. I waited longer than usual. I enjoyed every bits of that taco. It was fresh and flavorful. However, I found something other than fries in my fries. I didn't mind eating fried batter pieces. They were delicious, too. Uh, can I have some more of those crunchy thingy, please? The counter help was friendly. He apologized for the delay, which I didn't mind. I was just glad for the true 24-hr dining room with cool AC and I never feel rushed. The clientele were very cordial. If a customer orders breakfast and you have them pull up and don't ask what they might need. Then that means you are going to throw everything in the bag you think they might need. Not 1 syrup and that's it. Ridiculous. I shouldn't have to tell you what I might need if I'm pulling up and waiting for you and letting you process more vehicles if you don't ask you should put everything inside the bag bag. Ahh what is there not to love about the beloved "whataburger". Always a fantastic Texas staple for people who have never tried before should definitely get their hands on. This place is a little special to me for only one reason, after gettin out of the Metallica concert we had obviously wanted whata, yes maybe a little on the feeling good side after the concert so we were hungry and were looking towards the goat. We had stopped by the one on Steve's and rosevelt but sadly they close the inside around 12-3am which sucks, but is understandable for the sketchy area. Anyways we had seen this whata location was open drive thru and inside so right away we saw it as amazing at the time. Anyways we came in everyone who had went to the concert virtually seemed to all be there as well which was a cool sight. When we ordered the workers kept asking how was it and got our food out in 5mins which is always good! They took really good care of us here!! We're from Las Vegas but have had burgers here before and think they are some of the best burgers we've ever had!! A good restaurant is a reflection of its manager. Tom McLaughlin is no exception. This location is clean, orderly, and the staff is friendly and happy. Over all I would highly recommend this Whataburger. Given that every visit can have good and bad things happen, I would encourage those who have any bad experiences to ask for Tom the manager and he is more than willing to correct the mistake. read more

I'm so embarrassed to have checked-in here nearly 40 times!! Imagine adding all those times I didn't check in and wow, I've gained 15lbs. I think I know why! Mainly it's been my breakfast drive-thru pitstop because they have bacon and egg tacos, a large hot coffee with vanilla creamer (you have to ask for it) and I also like ordering the BoB (breakfast on a bun). It's easy and affordable. About half the time they tend to get orders wrong. For instance, I always ask for NO CHEESE but there it is, all gooey and melty and sticky on my precious eggs. Lunch/dinner is even worse. Just ketchup and pickle on the kid's burger but we often find mustard and sometimes cheese. I try not to sound rude when I order but you kinda have to be explicit and speak up to the box. The voice machine thingie works just fine. They're just speeding through the order that they tend to get it wrong. Alas, their coffee is better than other fast food places in the area so out of convenience and cost, I have 40 check-ins and 15lbs extra, for shame. read more

I was really bothered the fact that no one in the kitchen that was handling food was wearing gloves. I saw 4 different workers with food that was going to be served in their bare hands.
