Love those burgers! Fries are very skimpy. Staff re-did one of our orders to make things right.

I don't usually hit up fast food joints when I am traveling but I had to get my Whataburger fix on my recent trip to Phoenix. Why you may ask? In these parts, they have a specific item that we don't get in Texas. It is only available in West Texas all the way into the Southwest part of the United States where Whataburgers are located. It makes a brief appearance randomly where I live, but it's years apart when it does. After a night out, my friends and I called it a night early and decided to get food to take back to our respective hotels in Scottsdale. This was the closest location to me. It was around 10pm and the place was pretty empty including the drive thru. The staff here was super friendly, but service was extremely slow. I have never waited that long for food when ordering inside. That being said, my burger was exactly how I remembered it. The green chiles were a little bit on the mild and bland side, but the essence of the chile was there. They did not offer or give any condiments which was a bummer. I'm just used to being asked or just given it back home. My traveling companion got food next door but we both also got desserts here which were just fine. Whataburger still reigns supreme when it comes to fast food, but I will probably stay clear of this location next time I am in Scottsdale. read more

Soooo Dry! I ordered a jalapeño cheeseburger and added mushrooms, you would think they'd put the mushrooms on the melted cheese so that when you bite into the burger all the mushrooms don't fall on the ground, but no.. They put them on the DRY BUN and yes they fell out Ordered a chocolate shake but they gave me horchata , discovered this when they was already on the freeway Dry patty dry bun , I don't get the hype. Was heading home after a fun weekend in AZ, so we stopped for the breakfast of champions..WHATABURGER! I ordered a triple cheeseburger meal! As usual the burger was delicious and cooked perfectly. I showed my veteran ID and Conner, the guy running the counter gave me a nice discount! When my food was ready he brought it out to me and asked if I wanted any ketchup or anything else! I felt French so I ordered mayo for my fries! After finishing my meal I went to wash my hands and use the restroom. The bathroom was spotless like the rest of the store! This store had a lane blocked, not at the start, but all the way down to the ordering station. I informed them of this, they said it keeps getting "bumped up" (by forty feet?) I expressed incredulity at this, then the manager Jaden indicated his hurt feelings and stated they wouldn't serve me. So going to Smashburger instead, no more Whataburger if that's how they want to run their stores. read more

I'm not sure why the bad reviews. We DoorDashed to our Airbnb, 2 meals, chicken fingers and lots of extra sauce. Food was hot and I would highly recommend the chicken fingers with bbq. Delivery was super fast! Thanks can't wait to come back! read more

Tried Whataburger through catering, so it wasn't straight off the grill, but even giving it some grace, it was super meh. The flavor was just generic cafeteria burger. I typically like fast food breakfast items but am not a fan of their burgers. Whataburger is the exception. While pricy they really go all in on flavor. Just as an example, the Hatch Green Chili burger is really good. Lots of green chillies that are super tasty. Not spicy, they add to the juicy bite. The burgers are BIG and filling. The meat really covers the bun and the flavor of the beef isn't covered up with the usual ketchup, mustard, onion & pickle unless you ask for them. They have other toppings for extra price if you want them including avocado. They also have really good fried apple pies - the kind McDonald's used to have before they switched to baked. On the downside getting exactly what you want can take longer than the typical drive thru, and as I already stated, certainly pricier than most fast food places. However with the size and obvious quality difference, it's definitely worth it. read more

Nothing but kids, always just playing around which explains always getting your order wrong. Speaker is so low, you can barely hear. You order, but they never repeat it back. When you asked them to repeat your order, they still get it wrong. Attn: Manager - Isn't easier to correct the order at the speaker rather than correcting it when paying? Who does their training? They should always repeat the order to ensure it's correct. But, the manager is probably a kid as well. This is it for me, no more Whataburger for me. read more

Service was fast and friendly. Cashier was super sweet and made sure we were taken care of at all times. As she overlooked the floor she noticed previous customers left trash and she quickly cleaned it up. She asked me if she could also take the tray we slid on the bench I was sitting on to get it out of the way. Cashier also allowed me to taste test the White Chocolate Raspberry shake and while it was not my personal favorite (due to the milky-flavor - I'm lactose intolerant) I'm sure plenty of others love it because it's back and available to all. We ordered 3 burgers (very specific on additions and modifications of ingredients) and what I can say is this Whataburger is NOT GREEDY with ingredients as our burgers were deliciously loaded. Fries were seasoned well and the establishment was clean and in great order. I took photos when most of the customers departed hoping to get pics with no bodies. Second time for drive up window order today. Second time it was wrong when I got home & ready to eat. I repeated my order a few times to be sure they'd get it right this time AND she repeated it back to me as well. They still didn't get it right again & most of it went directly in the trash! Whataburger is a good choice of you are craving a burger versus a burrito after a night out in Old Town. There just are not many choices for late night fast food that isn't Mexican or Pizza in the heart of the Scottsdale Entertainment District. I got the basic Whataburger and added cheese. The burger was good, but it not exceptional. It has lots of iceberg lettuce but seemed thrown together. The bun was smashed and ripped a bit. When you are paying for food, even a fast food restaurant, the way the food looks still matters. Went here at 2am after my husband was discharged from the hospital. Ordered a single burger with just cheese, pickles, and onions. The repeat the order back to us and it's correct. Get home and the burger has mayo, lettuce, and tomato on it. We were the only customers so there was a deliberate lack of attention to detail here. Finally had a chance to try out Whataburger and I'm glad I did. I got the patty melt and some french fries. We were a group of 10 and the service was quick and the worker came by and gave us some regular ketchup and spicy ketchup. Was the spicy ketchup any different, not really couldn't tell a difference. Patty melt, sheesh its huge! The toast was nicely toasted and the meat patties were pretty hefty. The cheese, grilled onion, toasted bun, meat and sauce they all blended in perfectly and was good from start to finish. The french fries, were overly salted. Felt like my tongue started burning after finishing the fries. Their drink sizes are HUGE by the way. Whataburger at Thomas and Scottsdale Rd. I dined in at 1:15 PM asked if the employee if she could wait to mop or not mop where i was sitting. The employee proceeded to mop and made the dining area smell like cleaning chemicals. It was nasty so I bagged up my stuff and left. Two other guests were left to eat with that smell. When we came in around 1:10pm not crowded at all. After the wait in about 15 minutes no food and had to ask status. The female manager dismissive and not engaged. Wow, disappointing... My friends and I came here after a late night of drinking around midnight on a weekend. I've had Whataburger before but did not recall what it tasted like so I wanted to give it a try again since my group never had it before. Everyone was so excited, but once we received our burgers we instantly became very disappointed. The burger was soooo dry and it looked like there was no effort put in it at all. It was a great day, I spent the day watching football with my friends and was craving a classic whataburger with onion rings and some spicy ketchup. Little known to me I arrive back to my home and am ready to indulge in my food but the first flaw I noticed was no spicy ketchup and then NO ONION RINGS?! I used to like this spot but they screwed me over. Monday I placed an online order for breakfast at 10:36. It was going to be ready between 10:50-10:58. I arrive at 10:44 and wait. At 10:56 I went in to ask about my curbside order. They were clearly in the weeds and it seemed like it was everyone's first day. I asked a guy about it and he left and never came back. I hope he's ok? I asked another guy who dipped into the kitchen and four mins later came out and said "There's been an issue with the coffee." (I had a black coffee as a drink- not an exotic latte made with unicorn tears). I'm not sure how an issue with coffee equates to never getting any of the food items- so your guess is as good as mine. Looking at my watch it was now after 11:00am and I had to leave for an appointment so I asked the guy to please cancel my order. I called whataburger customer service and explained what happened and was told the charge would be reversed. I thanked them and went on with my day. Next day I got an email stating essentially you can't get a refund or cancel- once an order is prepared. . I again called and explained to this super nice lady that the entire problem is that I never got any kind of order. The entire crux of my problem is no food ever arrived, even after nearly 30 mins. If they wanted- they could confirm on camera that I left hungry and empty handed. So now I am disputing the charge. This level of service is something you'd think about with Walmart- not a billion dollar fast food empire. I had Whataburger before at the airport but it just wasn't the same. I'm so glad I gave it another chance! I wish we had a chain in California! My food was perfectly cooked. The service was painfully slow and inaccurate yet very friendly! I was disappointed that my meal was prepared incorrectly after waiting in line at a drive-thru for so long at nearly 2am. They forgot to give the people ahead of me their burger until after they had left, and they clearly regretted the mistake. Then I was sad to see my Cobb Salad With No Bacon was topped with three slices of bacon, and the entire salad was hot and wilted from the heat of the grilled chicken, which was not at all tasty. I've been here twice now (shhhhh). It's late night, when all those I know are sleeping and the closest spot open is this joint. I'm reviewing and putting myself on blast that I've been here (twice now) because of some other reviews. Both times, the service was. Meaning, I didn't wait an extraordinarily long time, not to order or get my food... the lady on the speaker was friendly. There were 2 cars in front of me and if I could review anything more, it would be the idgits blocking the drive through exit (has me wonder if this is where folks wait for inordinate amounts of time?) I've got no tips or pointers really, but for late night need a shake and some chicken strips, sure why not? I'd go back for another malt shake, maybe next time I'll remember why I don't usually... and stick with just a shake. read more

I wanted to give this location a second chance and I'm glad I did! The main reason I go to Whataburger is for the gravy and this time they did not disappoint. The gravy had the perfect consistency and was full of flavor. The toast and fries were nice and crispy, though the fries were a little saltier than I prefer. Overall my meal was satisfactory. The only downsides for this location are: that my Dr. Pepper tasted slightly off and the drive thru was particularly slow for not being busy. read more

I'm a California resident who traveled down with my partner and her team the Ventura County Derby Darlings to play a team in Casa Grande. We have always wanted to try Whataburger being from California and all. Happy to say I picked a great location to introduce us to the delicious place that is Whataburger. The associate at the counter was really welcoming and even sparked a small conversation with us. The food was made in a timely manner and was presented nicely in our tray even facing in the direction according to where we were sitting.
