Never been so since he suggested it I was glad to try it. Check out what the hype is about. It's a large burger. I went with the bacon cheese Whataburger and he had the double meat Whataburger. Added two cheese slices to it. I didn't realize they put mustard on their burgers. And diced onions instead of slices. I picked out all the pickles and diced onions. Too much for me. And I didn't like the mustard either. The bacon on my burger was the pre-made kind. Greasy and not crispy. It was ok. Not being a fan of burgers my opinion doesn't matter as much. He likes the Whataburger better than In-Night-Out burger. He knows burgers better than I do. The fries I liked. Not steak fries and fried just right. Crunchy and tender in the middle. Very tasty. The restaurant was clean and bright. Server was friendly. Restroom was clean too. Lots of parking. Now that I know the burgers come with mustard next time I'll ask for none. And maybe try the jalapeño burger. read more

I love whataburger and when I travel to regions that have them I always stop to get a double cheeseburger combo. Since I was in Phoenix I had got this delivered to my hotel. The delivery guy was friendly and got me my food on time. As for the food I felt this time around everything was kind of poorly done versus other establishments I've had in Texas or Alabama for comparison. The burger patties seemed overdone, large chunks of onions, the fries were ok but didn't give me any ketchup, lastly they must of literally filled my drink to the brim with ice than filled it with soda. Even though it was heavy there was actually very little soda and started to get watered down from all the ice pretty fast. The Hayden and Thomas location was so much better. This place gets worse every time I come. It is SO slow. Like a painful amount of time waiting. The service sucks, and the food is usually cold and hard. I was just handed a bag (?) of large soft drinks through my window with zero heads-up - it almost spilled all over me and my car. Fries from Hatch green chile burger combo. Mind you I went BACK through the line because the first fry was the same only cold. The young man at the window was very polite and apologetic but seemingly condescending about it... All of this directly in front of the store manager and he still let this through??? Just wow. I truly think it's the staff on the shifts when I go here that are targeting me because of my hearing and my originally review about the discrimination. Prove me other wise.... How do you drop a new basket of fresh fries and yet still I get a half box handed to me full of ends? That's intentional and I've had enough. I think corporate needs to know. 25 minutes to pick up an online order. Twenty-five, and I'm still waiting. After repeated 5 star reviews, no more. And no more business. Ever. And they had the audacity to look at me like I grew horns to suggest an on the spot refund. Start to finish 35 minutes and the food was sick slop. The staff at this location are beyond sweet and very helpful. Every time we come the manager, Taylyn, radiates joy and is very helpful. Today a super sweet older lady was handing out free shake samples and was also incredibly kind and funny. Very friendly staff and good food, but extremely slow. I've been here several times where you're sitting in the drive thru for 30 minutes waiting. I've since started doing mobile orders for pick up and you still have to wait forever. As I'm typing this, Ive been sitting in the parking lot for 20 minutes waiting on my mobile order. I placed the order 40 minutes ago and it was supposed to be ready 25 minutes ago and it's still not ready. Do not come here if you are looking for "fast" food, you will get stuck in the drive thru for 45 minutes. I've never been in and out of this location quickly out of dozens of times. read more

I was born and raised in Dallas where I lived for 58 years. From the time I Was a teenager Whataburger was the go to burger. No other fast food burger could compare. When I first moved to Scottsdale I saw an older location on Hayden and tried it. But it was not the same as those in Texas. Now this location opens on Thomas and its just like those I grew up with. Forget those other places in Old Town. If you want a burger. This is where you go. read more

Absurdly slow drive through. There was only one car in front of me and it literally took 20 minutes from order to food pick up.

Placed an online order for delivery to our hospital for our overnight crew. When we received our order, all of our meals were missing the fries. We called to see if we could get them delivered, and the woman who answered the phone was rude immediately from the start. Copped an attitude with us when we asked for a delivery of the fries or to speak with a manager about a refund for the food we just ordered. We were hung up on, the manager REFUSED to speak to us. We called back and we could actively hear the night shift people talking crap about us. It was completely unprofessional and rude. Service lacks, food is inconsistent. They should have never closed the Hayden location near Thomas, but apparently same franchisee? Sometimes the fries are hot, sometimes luke warm; sometimes the cheese doesn't even melt on the burger because they have precooked patties that are warm at best, when they're supposed to be cooked fresh? I asked for fries with no salt, it looks like they just dumped cooked fries back in the fryer. Not only were they just warm when they came out to my table, they were darker brown. 15 minutes as 2nd person in line while THREE people handle attempting to use multiple gift cards on an order instead of one of them opening a 2nd register for the line literally going out the door. All 3 were clearly trained on the register , so there is no short-staff excuse. Then, after giving up and going to drive through because I saw the drive through person wasn't busy at all, I'm told there are no large cups & none of the buns that are used on half of the sandwiches. I know there are shortages, but I'm sure they could have found a pen & paper to put up a sign so when their lack of competent management & training causes a simple task to take 3 people that long, customers can at least be informed that they won't be able to order what they want. It was extremely more likely that the lack of the items was due to bad inventory management as opposed to a shortage, based on the other location I went to having plenty of both. I was a shift supervisor at a fast food restaurant in the middle of the bar area in Chicago when I was 19. So I know this 100% could have been avoided if employees were competent. Until they get their act together, I would strongly suggest going to the Hayden, north of Thomas, location instead. read more
