Stopped here mid afternoon before catching a movie nearby. The place is very large with different rooms. It was quiet and pretty empty. Looked they were getting ready for the evening events of line dancing class and possibly some private parties. We sat at the bar. Our bartender was great and helped us with our decision on what to order as we couldn't decide. We ended up with the ribs and a fried chicken sandwich tossed in buffalo sauce. The ribs were fall off the bone good and the chicken sandwich was thin and crispy with great buffalo flavor. I'm picky when it comes to French fries. These were very good, cooked perfectly with a nice crisp to them. We will be back for sure to try a few other items on the menu that caught our eye. read more

If you like to shake your groove thang country style, this is the place for you! They have multiple bars, a very large dance floor, and plenty of good music. Thursday nights is red solo cup night and you get a smokin deal by purchasing a "cup." The crowd is diverse, and always a good time. Never going back to this place and I don't recommend anyone to come here either, if you want to line dance and request a few songs, go to Maverick on a Wednesday/Friday night or Corbett's on a Thursday night. The place says the DJ takes requests but every time I've tried or my friends or just anyone in general he goes "no", "not going to clear out the floor for a song no one knows" (even though it's very popular among students that come here), "no one even knows that song", "not the right crowd" (as it's literally filled with young people who came to line dance.) HOW ARE YOU GOING TO PROMOTE DJ TAKING REQUESTS IF YOU CAN'T EVEN GO NEAR HIM WITHOUT GETTING THE ABSOLUTE WORST ATTITUDE EVER. The DJ's name is Mike and is always extremely rude for no absolute reason at all. He literally only plays what he wants or what he feels like, tries to act like he's the "big man" even though the man is literally at retirement age and should pass the DJ station over to someone who actually likes their job and is about the people, like for example Corbetts on a Thursday night. (Which again go there instead of here.) I've been coming to whiskey for a couple years now and honestly ask myself why I even keep coming back or even try with the staff especially the DJ Mike at this point. This is hands down the funniest damn place I've ever been. It's large on the inside...so let me take you through it. There are steps and a ramp up to the front door and there is plenty of parking, which is nice. Upon entering, there's a long wall and you can walk around it to the right or left. There's a host stand to the right. We first got there and waited at the stand for a moment to realize that no one can see through the wall, so we walked around it to find someone to guide us to a table. Immediately, there are a couple of leather grey sofas giving off a lounge vibe. Cool this place is a lounge. Immediately past the sofas are two red-topped pool tables in excellent conditions. Cool, it's a pool hall. So it's not a lounge. And there are some hightop tables and counter height chairs with a DJ booth behind them. So it's not a lounge and it's not a pool hall. It's a club. Immediately across from the high tables, chairs and DJ booth is an open room. Cool, it's a dance club. But wait, no one's dancing, there's a corn hole tournament going on. There's also a large bar and a crapload of TVs showing sports. Cool it's a sports bar. But wait, it's not a club, nor a pool hall, nor a lounge. We spot a server and she brings us into a room with a bunch of tables and booths. Cool, it's a restaurant. But wait, it's not a sports bar, and it's not a club, and it's not a pool hall, and it's not a lounge. What the actual hell is going on here?! Oh, and it's brightly lit. WHAT??? They serve local beers on tap along with known brands. Cool. My buddy and both got their signature "Whiskey's burger" with an onion ring on it. Truthfully, the burger was very good and the onion ring wasn't huge, so just having that on their added to the overall flavor. I had a cider drink and my buddy had a lager drink (feel free to sing some Chumbawumba here). I don't recall what our wives ate, salad? I didn't pay attention as my burger was very tasty and the fries were good too. And again, I will say that Arizona servers know the right way to take orders. They asked if we wanted ketchup or ranch with our fries. I wanted ranch (ketchup sucks) and my buddy took the devil's sauce - ketchup). Oh, and my buddy and his wife told us the place is a biker bar. What. The. Heck?! So on top of all the things that bar is or is not, it is mostly a biker bar? It certainly isn't any biker bar I have ever seen. Whiskey Roads is a funky place that caters to literally everyone. You want the place to a: 1. Lounge? Check. 2. Pool Hall? Check. 3. Dance Club? Check. 4. Sports Bar? Check. 5. Restaurant? Check. 6. Karaoke Place? Check. 7. Local Pub with Local Drinks? Check. 8. Games like corn hole? Check. 9. Country Line Dancing Bar? Check. 10. Burger and wing joint? Check. 11. Live music? Check. 12. Brunch place? Check. 13. Biker Bar? Check. I think the owners watched 'Field of Dreams' and applied it to their restaurant and bar. "If You Build It, They Will Come." They sure did. And so did we. And the burgers were tasty and the drinks cold. What more could you ask for? Please don't comment on what you could ask for because I don't think they have any more space to add. read more

Came here for an event with tipsypicassos- hat burning! Really fun. I had never been to whiskey roads so that was a bonus getting to try a new place! We just had drinks and appetizers.. but they were tasty! And during happy hour so it was nicely priced. Our server was very nice and fast. It's a big place, lots of different eating areas plus a dance floor! Very nice :) we'd come back to do some dancing for sure. The cheese crisp was really good.. but the app sampler was ok.. nothing to write home about. Overall good experience! read more

First time ever down at this place. Great country bar huge dance floor live bands and a DJ. Two separate bars so the ambience before the live band started was pretty decent. You could still hear each other talk once the band got going a certain parts. it's just a little bit loud but no big deal. I mean, you could still have a good conversation. I ordered The sampler appetizer platter. Very good had a good variety. I had some wings and fried zucchini, mozzarella sticks, potato skins, and french fries all in all it was really good. The service was good and prompt. The bars were on it really good. Make sure you got your drinks quickly and Got going. One of the few remaining businesses at the Foot Hills Mall, this is a great divey country-western hangout. Big dance floor and friendly people. The sound system needs improvement; volume is not quality. The live band I saw was outstanding and the audience was more than happy. The drinks and food are a bit pricy, but that's only fair since most folks are going to stay a long time dancing and hanging. One issue for me is the use of high-top tables; I prefer normal seating. However, if you're looking for ambiance for two-stepping, this is a great environment and again great music. read more

I saw a lot of college-aged people there for line dancing, and that looked fun. I've been here twice now, both for larger groups events, so I was hesitant to leave a review because I haven't been just to eat/drink individually. I've gotten appetizers both times, and the food was average. I was a little disappointed by the BBQ sauce (my expectations may have been too high, as I was expecting some signature whiskey sauce, and it was similar to any generic bottled sauce). The fries were good. The service both times has been pretty bad though, very unresponsive and hard to track down the servers. There's an automatic 20% gratuity added for groups, so I'm not sure if it's just because there's no real motivation to provide good service to groups or if it's like that all the time. read more

We met a group of friends here for the first time on a Sunday, November 17th. This place is big! We were happy to see the place was busy. There are many separate rooms; a main bar area with a multitude of screens for sports fans, one with a stage for live music and dancing, other areas that make it great for group/private parties, dog friendly patios, and even a mechanical bull. They have local craft beers and great food. They were even knowledgeable and accommodating for one of our guests that needed a gluten free meal. Do not leave your tab open at this place as they will charge you INSANE amounts without you noticing and even adding extra crazy tips without your authorization. This counts as fraud and I think it's absolutely disrespectful and so unprofessional from them. Always check in to close it and make sure they're charging the right amount. Nice folks, a variety of ages and darn good music. Drinks & and bartenders we're what I expected - efficient, which is what you want on a Friday night. Told me he "would not clear out the floor for a dance nobody would know" although it was a VERY popular line dance. I asked what line dances were popular around here and he gave me 2 answers and said that was it. I tried again later in the night as the dance floor was clearing out and he practically told me to go away. DO NOT GO IF FROM OUT OF TOWN AND KNOW HOW TO DANCE. Came back after a previously great experience. This experience was anything but. The bartender ignored us after trying to place our drink order, then proceeded to never give us our drink order. When food arrived our burgers were cold and didn't come with all of the ordered sides. The place was a zoo and was impossible to get around due to all of the drunks. Will not be returning. read more

Security pulled my friend aside and said they couldn't let him in because they couldn't validate his id. My friend told them he was willing to involve the police to prove his ID was valid. Then I asked if he could show credit cards to verify his name and the manager said yes and once he stated he had other cards to identify the manager changed his response and said no he needed another form of identification. How many people are carrying multiple identification cards?? When we asked the manager why they were questioning his ID he said "I don't want to say what it is", couldn't even explain why they just "didn't trust it". Yikes... this place just keeps getting worse and worse as the years go by. The service? The food? It's never been great, but lately it's been absolutely terrible. After coming here over a year, I have come to the determination that this place is merely a country dancing venue that just so happens to serve food and drinks, as opposed to a multi-faceted operation... everything beyond dancing and music feels very half-assed. I find the demeanor of some of the bouncers during ID checks to be very peculiar. Wait staff is among the worst I've dealt with, though the few that are good are near-perfect at what they do. With the mediocre wait staff, table rounding, or lack thereof, is a serious issue. You'll see them when they seat you for initial food and drink ordering, then you're on your own. Rarely is your waiter or waitress the one who drops off your food or drink. If you want anything else from the bar, you'd better go up and order it yourself, because your waitress is off somewhere else not tending to tables. You know when your waitress will conveniently show up? When it gets close to 9pm when the kitchen closes and table service is suspended and they want to close out all the checks. Bartenders are largely hit-and-miss. Some, you can tell were born to do it, others don't know their butt from a hole in the ground about anything other than popping-open bottles of beer. A nightclub-type place should get alcoholic beverages of all things correct. Food still isn't anything to write home about. You'd think given the name and theme of the place that the food would take on a more uniquely southern feel. In reality, it's lower-end pub fare. Again, half-assed. The reason I continue to come back is because I have friends that love it despite holding many of the same opinions I do. If it weren't for that, I likely wouldn't be keen on returning. Amazing time when we come, love the atmosphere and the ability to either sit at the bar or get on the dance floor. Bartenders are amazing, especially Levi and Jessica. Their servers on busy night need a little more training, they're very rude and absent most of the time. Had a large tab on a reserved table and the server failed to mention there was gratuity included so I tipped and asked for a detailed receipt because the tab seemed a little high but she never came back after i paid. This place is big and has alot going on. I was here for a birthday party and it was my first time being here. There's bar areas, didning areas, live music and a dance floor. The prices on the food menu were about like any other restaurant. I ordered the wings. They were good, except that they give you about enough dipping dressing for 3 wings. I'm not a fan of restaurants cutting corners on the essentials like that. I had a great server. Only problem was, she had way too many people and tables to cover. Service suffered extremely from it. This is such a big place and was packed by 730 on a Saturday night. I dont know if it's the management or if its really hard to find employees right now, but whatever it is, this place is suffering from it. Went in for the 2 step dance lessons, and the woman bartender that was tending bar during this time had real attitude just because I was asking for fresh ice for my water. Her attitude made it feel like because I wasn't buying alcohol and thus tipping her, I wasn't worth being treated with respect. Doesn't matter if I I was battling sobriety or just not in the mood to drink tonight. Bartenders should make all customers feel welcomed regardless if they are going to get a tip or not. read more

Good afternoon! I'm writing in regards to our experience at your establishment. We had a large party of about 20 people all together with non of us have ever gone here(and I live across the street.) all but about 5 did the brunch and the others ordered off the menu. We got there at 11:30am and did not leave til about 2:15pm (almost 3 hours). My entire family drove from the south side of town to try it out since my nana loves to go out to eat. In the beginning all was good. Once we all began to eat our server (cierra) was MIA. Some of us had to approach her for refills or things that we're needed. At one point I asked if she could swap out my brothers drink because it tasted flat & when she brought it out she slammed the drink on the table to where it startled those around me. We also caught your staff eating off the buffet as we were in line. The 5 people who ordered off the menu did not get their food for 1 hr 40 minutes (WTF). The server did not educate us it would be so long or failed to acknowledge the length of time. We asked for the manger (who looked nothing like or acted like a manger ) all she could say was "it's Mother's Day". Which that was no excuse because most of the restaurant was doing the brunch. We asked for some kind of courtesy and all that was given was a measly 20%. She could've covered some entrees. As someone familiar with this industry this was hands down a horrible experience especially on Mother's Day. The server knew she was getting gratuity off the back so she didn't need to be so attentive. She would service the other tables in the same room yet fail to also provide the same to us . For a place as big we expected more & you need to hire better servers with customer service & empathy or retrain the ones you have. Will not be back & will be sure not to recommend large parties at your location. We'd get better service at Applebee's. read more

Tried this place the other week. I love good whisky! Most of the food has a whiskey component, like ribs with bbq sauce that is made with whisky (it was good sauce). They have a place for those there to drink and dance to chill out on couches and they have an awesome dance floor and live bands some times. The best thing was they had my favorite brand of whiskey - Glenfiddich it's hard to find and expensive but so delicious! I'll be back! read more

I wanted to wait until I had gone a couple of times before writing this review in order to give it its best chance. Sadly, it was a failure overall. The food was mediocre at best. It was a greasy, undercooked, and overpriced. The drinks are also overpriced. Their well whiskey, which is an unknown brand was $5 and was essentially brown colored rubbing alcohol. A bud light was $4. A shot of Wild Turkey was $9! Ouch. Next is the service...the guys "security" in white shirts are the only ones who are polite and seem to be knowledgeable. There was one female bartender who was courteous and helpful, however the rest we encountered were impolite and short tempered. God forbid you ask for a glass of water. Be careful where you walk. A waitress ran into me, skilled beer and tequila all down my side and walked away, unapologetically, leaving me covered in alcohol. The dance floor is not clearly delineated so people are just kind of standing wherever and dancing is hard to maneuver. The patio is nice and there are 2 pool tables, however, it just seems chaotic and cramped on the weekends. There are too many people and not enough staff or organization to make it work. Also, whenever we had a problem, we were told "we just opened last week so we are still working on things." My response is...don't open until you are ready. The live music was good, and that is where I'll credit the 1 Star. read more
