Nova lox on pumpernickel
Lana K.

An efficiently run bagel shop located in a strip mall. The interior is a simple New York style bagel spot with a few seats along the wall. As you enter, you can place an order, or pick up your online order. We ordered a whitefish salad sandwich on an everything bagel and a nova lox sandwich on pumpernickel. Both were delicious. Reminded me of the bagels I'd get in the city. Definitely a stop if craving a taste of New York.

I had the breakfast sandwich was excellent. Small interior, but had some nice outdoor seating. Lots of workers, but still took a little while to get our food which I assume is because we ordered one hot bagel. Would eat there again as it was tasty.

This is my go to bagel spot. I ordered their premium nova lox bagel sandwich with an onion bagel and scallion cream cheese. It had a very nice salty and savory taste with the capers. The tomato balanced everything out making it very refreshing. The bagel had a crisp exterior and a soft interior. It was warm, fluffy and easy to bite into. My fiancé ordered the jalapeño cheddar bagel with bacon, egg, and Texas loaded cream cheese. It wasn't too heavy. All of the flavors really complimented each other and was very savory.

11/10! Today (2/06/25) I went and had a bacon egg and cheese on an everything bagel and I didn't even have to wait long. By the time I was able to find a table outside to sit they were calling my name. The place itself could use a deep clean but the overall aesthetic is warm and inviting. The drink cooler was available and full and I loved seeing the mensch on a bench! How fun! Not to mention all of the cream cheeses they have! I asked and yes they are all made by hand! ;) The staff were friendly and seemed to be having a good time. Overall a new go to for me. Thanks Wholy Bagel!

Lox Bagel Sandwich

I really liked Wholy Bagel. I got an everything bagel lox sandwich. The bagel was nice and chewy and well flavored. I think I would have preferred the sandwich without tomato but that's just personal preference. The capers and onions went well with the scallion cream cheese. I think I was comparing this to New York bagels where you expect a lot of cream cheese. I would have liked just a bit more.

The bagels I had. First off, nobody makes a real pumpernickel bagel. Second. The. Lite rye bagel had a lot of large holes. The bagels whether straight dough method , starter, poolish , mother , chef or preferment, need not to have as much yeast as French bread nor a short rise time. Guess the name is what they sell now..

Best Lox bagel I've had in a VERY VERY long time!! The service was great and the employees are so so kind. Will be back for sure.

Good cold brew coffee, but as you guessed it's mainly about the Bagels and smeer! Lots of variety and options, but I love the Nova Lox!

Does anyone know how the take out line works? Or just the inside lines in general? Seems like a bunch of people standing around aimlessly with no order.

Ever since Amazon took over whole foods their deli and salads area are so meh, bland and not fresh. I used to live in Long Beach CA and I would go up to LA for work a few times a month. I would look forward to those days when my accounts would ask to pick up Mendocino farms for lunch. All the salads delish. Always the most in-season veggies, freshly made salad dressings and it was just all the things I LOVE and really miss being so land locked here in Central Texas. 8/10. Service- the culture vibes are here. Friendly, helpful, efficient 8/10 Restaurant-fun, clean, quirky as I remember it.. cows hanging on the ceiling. 9/10 Food- I had the Crispy Rice Salad with tofu. -And a large side of the couscous (I LOVE that couscous... its creamy, light, the texture is fun and its super as a side or adds a boost to any salad or sandwich). -the salad greens crisp, rice was an amazing crunch. -dressing was soo good! Umami yet bright and light -all the extra veggies at the peak of season. Just chefs kiss! Ps: LOVE how the dressing has its own "home" in the to-go container. -points taken off for the tofu.. it was SUPER salty. Not sure if that is always the way or it was just a bit heavy handed today. It was not edible (bummer). The salad and the large couscous lasted me 4 meals. They pack a LOT of salad in that to go container. Is it worth for "just a salad or sandwich" here. YES! You will realize how GREAT good high sourced veggies taste when you eat here. Im so glad there is a piece of Cali here in Austin! I haven't had this level of greens in over 3 yrs since moving to ATX. The seasonal teas looked amazing-thats for next time! Come try it for yourself. Do a date day, girlfriends lunch. Its just so yummy!

We seriously love Diana for her recommendation got the knuckle and the veggies. Knuckles was perfect lettuce and perfect meat ratio. Not too much lettuce and very generous with meat. The cheese crisps was so so so so good and just made the perfect crunch. The veggie though was so so amazing I have never had such an amazing artichoke sandwhich it was so good. If your taking it to GO and eating later let them know and they will pack the soggy stuff separately. Once again we are in love with this sandwhich and its definetly a must ever time in Austin. Thank you Diana and team for the best sandwhich ever !

The fresh herbs were a bit excessive on the lamb sammie. Would have liked the lamb to be the dominant flavor, not the mint.

Seriously honest sourdough bread and bagels…read more Honest means that to maintain quality, They don't make a lot of what they've got. So when they sell out, everything really is gone. Since the word has gotten out about Casper Fermentables, They sell out early in the day. By lunch time, the bagels were all gone. By 1 pm, everything was all gone and they were shutting up to go home. So set your alarm clock early if you want to go to Casper Fermentables. * * * A charm of Casper Fermentables is that their sandwiches and bagels are seriously overstuffed. Samuel C. loves himself a good overstuffed sandwich. More is more. But Paradise Has Its Price. If your bagel or sourdough bread is overstuffed, that makes it harder to taste the sourdough. Which kind of defeats the primary purpose of you being there. However, if you really concentrate, And eat mindfully, You can make out the taste of that bagel or sourdough bread Underneath all the good stuff. That is a real pleasant moment when that taste comes through. You are going to have to concentrate to get to that sourdough taste. I was with interesting fascinating company - a good person who I hadn't seen in a long time. That was a pleasure in and of itself ... But like my really good tuna salad with excellent dijon and hot pepper oil, It was a delightful distraction from the sourdough. * * * Some things in life are better than fermented bread. But this is good honest fermented bread.
