Great view, bad experience! My family and I ate here on 4 June 2018 while vacationing in the area. It seemed like a great restaurant with an excellent view. We saw a dolphin in the marsh by the nearby marina; very neat! I ordered the Marshwalk, which is steak, crab legs, and some delicious mac'n'cheese. The cheesy Mac was great, but the steak was undercooked and our waiter told me that was the way I ordered it. It was not medium at all. He said the kitchen was very busy and it could take nearly an hour to cook it, or replace it. It was bleeding quite a bit (not juicy, bloody). The steak was mostly fat too. For a sirloin it wasn't much to look at. Many people say, "don't go to a seafood restaurant for steak." I should have kept that in mind. Also, the crab legs were cold upon arrival and I was told they did not have the utensils to crack them open. Our waiter also said he was unable to locate a cocktail fork. I had to crack it by hand and dig the meat out with a traditional table fork. Everyone else at my table watched me struggle to eat as much of my dinner as I was able to. They were finished eating before me because I foolishly waited ten minutes for the waiter to search for proper utensils for consuming crab legs. The waitstaff seemed to have little concern about our experience as we had to ask multiple times for them to refill our drinks. The only saving grace was the mac'n'cheese that was actually very tasty! I'm not a pain in the butt customer, but I actually felt quite let down as we left the restaurant. Visiting Litchfield Beach for vacay and read the reviews about this place on line and decided to give it a try. We went today, a Monday, around 6 pm. We were seated immediately and our server (Rosa?) greeted us quickly. She was friendly and attentive at first - more on that later. The menu is full of diversified choices - burgers, sushi, seafood entrees, lots to choose from. The prices are WICKEDLY OVERPRICED. I get that this is a tourist destination "hot spot" and I kept that in mind because I had reviewed the menu on line before arriving. So, I knew what to expect. However, I did not expect the SMALL portions. I ordered the Murrells Inlet Catch - fried grouper over grits. This was $27. I expected a bowl of grits or at least much more than what I got which appeared to be about a fourth of a cup of grits, smeared out across the plate to appear to be more than what it was. Two pieces of grouper lay on top. The grouper was overfried and tough to cut and to chew. Way overpriced at $27. Hubby ordered the tempura shrimp roll which was more of an appetizer or a side dish and the price was appropriate at $7. My kids ordered the Tuna Crunch Roll at $18 and the Tsunami Roll at $18. The Tsunami roll was large and my son enjoyed it. The Tuna Crunch Roll was too small for $18 - we were surprised that it was not as big as the Tsunami Roll for the same price. We also ordered 2 appetizers - the calamari (very small portion at $13) and the Avocado Dragon Egg at $16. The ADE was just ok. Now, back to our server. Initially, as I said, she was very attentive to us until a larger party came in. Then, she disappeared yet walked by our table several times without asking us if everything was ok. I understand that a larger party requires more attention but that does not mean that the smaller party now gets zero attention. We decreased her tip because of that. Overall, this place was just "meh". Our total bill was $157 before the tip. Husband didn't think it was worth it at all. We won't be returning here. read more

We normally came to this place every year as the food is typically great and so is the service. In this case we made a reservation and were seated immediately; however after being seated we waited 20-30+ minutes as waiters walked by and asked if we had been served. We finally had to ask the hostess to send someone over. When we ordered beers they didn't have any of the beers on the menu in fact they gave us one beer that was the end of the keg and only filled the glass 3/4 of the way, and yet they charged us for the beer. Then on our other orders which they didn't have instead of telling us they were out they just brought substitutes and charged us for these. The food was unfortunately cold and subpar. There is a lot of other options in Murrells Inlet that I would recommend. Especially for the average price of $25-30/per dish. Stay clear of wicked tuna until they turn themselves around. Annual dinner at our favorite restaurant. Ordered the weekly special, grouper covered with shrimp, lobster, & lemon butter sauce over rice w/ mushrooms. Recommended by our server as his top choice. It was delicious! The lemon butter sauce was the best. The grouper was tasty. We also had three of their signature desserts, Carmel, keylime, & smore type dessert. The Carmel was the best tasting. This restaurant never fails to provide awesome service, great quality food. Always look forward to our annual meal here when we are in town! read more

Was not impressed ... Arrived hungry with a group of people ... Waitress seemed busy as it was fairly busy but we were never offered any bread and butter after waiting around hungry for 10 to 15 mins we asked if they offer any bread and butter there to guests and the waitress said they sure they can, so she brought them out... They looked like fast food style long breadsticks ... Not to my liking .. The garlic butter was good though ... But I prefer fresh baked bread especially for the high prices of this place ... For appetizers we ordered fish bites and fried pickles.. The fried pickles were great but the fish bites were gross .. They were very greasy and mostly breading and little tiny bits of fish embedded throughout the breading ... I wouldn't recommend them unless you want some greasy oily doughy bread with little bits of fish... I ordered the fish tacos .. They were ok, I've had better fish tacos at other places .. The rice was too salty and the temperature was cool not hot and tasted a little stale too as if it had been sitting out... Overall not impressed and would not come back here.. I don't mind paying high prices of the food is quality and service is too but this place was not really worth the high price .. I guess you are paying for the view of the water which was nice ... But service was a little below average as some of the people seemed like they didn't want to be there like the guy who brought our appetizers out and the waitress who didn't offer us bread and some people at our table got their food before others so the whole experience was not worth the price ... read more

We love Wicked Tuna. They are a second story restaurant at the end of the Marshwalk so you get great views of the whole area. Their sushi is fantastic as well as their other dishes if you're not into sushi. The prices are slightly higher than average but the food is worth it. Happy hour is the best time to go because they have great specials at reduced prices. They also have live music on the weekends. Treat yourself to this great spot on the marsh. read more

I am beyond devasted that Wicked Tuna didn't wow me. The view is stunning, our server was friendly- and it's near where I work! However I ate here on Saturday- we ordered a pitcher of White Sangria for $28 and it was basically all water, zero flavor. For dinner I ordered sushi- Rainbow Roll and Patriot Roll. About an hour after eating I felt faint and lightheaded, and an hour after that I was violently ill. I tried to keep down crackers but anything besides water made me sick. For almost 24hrs I couldn't keep my food down. It was the worst! I'm still afraid to have a real meal for fear of getting sick! Everyone else enjoyed their food- but I was the only one to get raw sushi. read more

Came here for dinner on a Thursday during bike week. We sat out on the deck which has a nice view of the water. Service was a bit on the slow/inattentive side. My friend ordered a cocktail which was a bit watered down. I ordered soup and the server came back later to let me know they were out of it. I asked for a salad instead which ended up coming out after my entree. The high point for me was the killer tuna roll which was great. My friend ordered the steak and lobster tail and unfortunately his steak was over cooked (well done instead of medium). For desert I ordered the Oreo pie which sounded better than it was. Maybe it's my fault for ordering it when what I really wanted was the cheesecake (they were out of that too), but at $10 for the slice I definitely don't think it was worth it. I think it may have just been an off night with the service and running out of things. I'd be willing to try it again because the killer tuna roll really was great. read more

Restaurant is lovely and had good service, but food was awful. Either no flavor or too salty. Sister's triggerfish was the standout. Kale/apple salad and beef carpaccio no flavor, all you tasted in she crab soup was sherry, but good amount of crab. Grits and crab that came with fried founder was good (but salty), but flounder just fried, fried, fried. Surf and Surf boring. Fish bites (appetizer) inedible. We didn't want to make a stink as it was Mom's birthday. They comped dessert which was very nice. So a mixed bag. Stay away from fried stuff including pickles. read more

I am only giving 2 stars because the food was very good. The service had a lot of issues. We went on Fathers Day and got there before it got really crowded. Our appetizers were very good but when it came time for our main entree and sides major mistakes were made. There were 4 of us and only 3 entrees came to us and our son was served 1 unappetizing cup of Mac and cheese. I am no high falootin foodie snob, but I learned from years of eating in all kinds of places, that what happened should have never happened. Nevertheless, it did and the waitress began to blame the kitchen for messing up. Excuse me, shouldn't she have noticed only 3 dinners? Well, it got worse because our food would have gotten cold if we didn't start eating. It seemed like at least 5 minutes or more went by until the waitress returned. I made the comment to her that his meal should be comped because of how it was served and its delay. You NEVER serve side dishes before the main meal! She argued back that she couldn't do that. She chose to make an "executive" decision when she should have gotten a manager to come over. My family, as quiet as they were, didn't want to fuss. Then the waitress said that the missing entree was sitting on the kitchen's shelf. So why did she take so long to bring it? Our son spent a lot of money for our dinner, but as I see others critical of similar episodes, I will end with this. I will not return there nor would I recommend it to my friends or others. This place was amazing! The food fantastic, the article impeccable, the setting beyond gorgeous! The chairs are white and cushioned both bottom and backs, not too many places have such nice seats!! The view is well perfection! They have a great indoor and outdoor bar plus tons of patio seating as well as outdoor covered patio seating! The food was amazing!! We started with the New England egg roll and it was so good! I had the Surf and Surf and it was perfection! My husband had a grouper special and his was perfection as well! All the seafood or well majority of it comes from the boats right there in the water! They have a large sushi menu as well and it was very hard to make a decision on what we wanted because well we wanted it all!! We came for lunch and the menu was the same as their dinner menu which I like because we prefer going for lunch with our 3 year old and miss the dinner crowd but hate when places give a limited menu for the lunch. Anyway go here and eat you will be so happy!!! Muriels Inlet is the place to go for fresh good quality food in MB, stay away from the crappy restaurants on the boardwalk that over charge and serve fried frozen food that is crap crap! My wife and i eat here every time we come to beach which calculates to 3 times a year. Every other time we have eaten here it has been a great experience. The 2.5 stars are the average for the 5 star food which was great as always. But our service from Matthew tonight was NOT the quality Wicked Tuna's management is looking for based on our past servers. We ordered sushi and an appetizer which all came at the same time. I was trying to figure it out and missed him telling me he was going to get soy sause dishes. I caught him and ask for them and was wondering if i was going to get yelled at by his abrasive attitude. My wife was interested in their desserts but before we could ask for a preview tray, ol Matthew decided it was time for our check. Now to be clear, we are the 20% tippers. We double the first digit of the tab ie. Our bill was $76. We would usually leave $14. So the larger the bill the bigger tip. So there he lost money. And along with his horrible tableside manner he got a $6 tip. And he should be greatful for that. I know there are days that are just not your day.... but when you serve at a top end restaurant you may want to consider taking the night off for Yelps sake and the reputation of the fine establishment you are representing. Do not go here! We had a reservation for 16 at 7:30. We were not seated until 7:50. Our order took FOREVER!!!! Our meals for the most part were just okay and were not worth the wait. The management seem to be totally aware and okay with the fact that the service is extremely slow and offered no apology!! This restaurant obviously does not care about having repeat business and takes advantage of the vacation goers who have no idea what they are getting into. Majority of the time food drinks and service is spot on but had a few rough experiences. It took about 10 trips here before a bartender mentioned the locals discount... appreciate him for doing so though! The few times we've had food mishaps they've corrected. One time a bartender noticed we weren't eating our food and awkwardly told him it was ice cold (mozzarellas sticks and fries cold are not great..) and our sliders were way over cooked. He took them off the bill for us though and was super apologetic even though it wasn't his fault. We've had one bar back serve us and it was rough though. I asked how a seasonal beer was on draft he said good so I ordered the beer and then he made me some fruity drink and didn't seem to caress had totally screwed that one up... wicked trio is absolutely amazing and we always get the spicy tuna roll- so fresh! Bang bang grouper is also delicious! Whenever we sit at the bar outside it's a gamble if the food runners deliver us the correct meal but in the end we always eventually end up with what we ordered haha read more

Great food, bad service. We sat in the bar area at 9:00 on a Thursday night and barely saw our waiter at all. After being seated, it took a few minutes for him to come get our drink orders. When he did, he seemed flustered and rushed. He came back with our drinks but just dropped them off to go tend to other tables without asking if we wanted to order. After finally ordering, it took a long time for the food to come out. We had 2 different people bring out appetizers and food, and never saw our weight or again until it was time for the check. I normally wouldn't be bothered by this because they were semi busy, however, I noticed our waiter at the table next to us about 5 or 6 times to get them more drinks etc.... But we couldn't even get him to stop at our table long enough to ask for silver wear or a refill on our water. Food ended up being delicious, but good service would keep me coming back. read more

This was the worst dining experience I have probably ever witnessed. We waited so long for our food, two of our kids started watching a movie (Goon-runtime 92 minutes) on a phone after we ordered. They watched the entire movie and still had to wait before our food arrived. This was our last night on vacation, and it took almost 3 hours to dine at the Wicked Tuna. TOTAL FAIL!!! I don't think I saw any food served in the entire restaurant for over an hour. Props only to our waitress who was trying her best to placate. Arrived around 5:30 on a Friday evening. The restaurant was not very busy yet. We were seated outside right a way. This is the last time we had contact with anyone who worked there. We waited for 20 minutes and not a single person ever came over. We even tried to get the attention of a waitress who just stared at us and walked away. Needless to say we just got up and left. Visited Wicked Tuna on 8/22/17 6 adults and 2 children, all the food for the adults came out at different times, with my wife, having ordering the special hogfish coming out 5-10 minutes after everyone was served. Completely unacceptable for a $35 meal!, serving the lady last, class less. Even a greater display of lack of class was adding the tip to the bill. I sat with 3 friends on their porch, which was very busy at the time. One of our appetizers did not arrive until after our entrees. Also, neither of the 2 sushi items I ordered arrived until everyone else at the table had finished eating. When my salmon sashimi finally came out, most of the other tables on the porch had been cleared. The salmon was warm and mediocre. When we asked if they were keeping it on our bill they asked if we had received it, quietly sighed and took it off. Overall the food was quite good. The place was pretty. Our waiter was very pleasant even under the circumstances of a completely backed up kitchen. Management could do a better job of judging their wait times versus the obvious struggle in the kitchen. I worked many of years in successful restaurants in my younger years and I can say, they have the bones for something good but the machine doesn't run well under pressure. I have been coming to Murrells Inlet since 2010 when I met my husband whose parents retired here. Long before "wicked tuna" was the name of the restaurant. We have always been blown away by the quality of the seafood and sushi (and burgers- one of my husbands favorites). Tonight's food was just as delicious- but we waited over 3 hours for it. We arrived at 6:45 and put our name in the list ( the Friday after the 4th of July- we knew it would be busy) the wait was 45 minutes and we were stoked! We headed to the Tuma shack (formerly tiki bar) for a cocktail while we waited. At 8pm we went back to the restaurant to inquire about the wait. The stag apologized and immediately sat us outside Ricky next to the water- score! After about 15 min I flagged down the hostess and told her we had yet to be waited on- she sent the server right over. He was great and very attentive- especially to the fact that the grill kitchen was running one hour behind schedule. I ordered a an appetizer of sushi and he asked if we would like more appetizers due to the long wait for our upcoming meal. My husband isn't into sushi so we decided to stick with what we had ordered. It was just between 815 and 830 when we put in our food order. We received our meal at 9:50 PM. Just a little ridiculous to say the least- and we were the only ones everyone in the entire restaurant had been waiting over an hour to two hours for their meal. After speaking with our server and explaining the fact that we come here every year if not twice a year both in season and off-season- he informed us that the management has changed hands three times and each time the management expresses to the owner that the kitchen is too small to serve as many guests as they seat the owner fires the manager. This message is to the owner you need to get smart about your business or it will fail. At first you shunned the locals and now you are treating the tourist equally as bad. Mark my word you might be sitting pretty now but give it a few years and you will fail. You need to either upgrade the kitchen to a larger size or minimize the amount of seating in the restaurant and tuna shack. Let's stop being so money hungry and remember why were all here -to enjoy the beautiful marsh, spend time with our families and have a delicious meal (in under 3 hours). read more
