My sister and I decided to grab some breakfast to go, and she'd looked this place up beforehand. We found plenty of options on the menu, I decided on a half order of the Return of the King pancakes and some breakfast tots. While we were waiting, the manager came and gave us complimentary fresh squeezed orange juice, which I'd gladly come back for. I got some pancakes with a melty peanut butter sauce. The pancakes are definitely meant for lazy Sundays: moist and fluffy but dense and filling simultaneously. Not sure who developed that alchemy, but they win in my book! I know it's a CHAIN but not all items are available at each location. That being said I have nothing bad to say about this place - I have been here probably 4-5 times now (I forget to check in). The BLUEBERRY muffins are dreamy and then if you are an omelet person like me: Surfer & Creole are both amazing go for what you are feelings I don't think you can go wrong with any of their omelet's (that's just what holds my attention). They also have a good recommended eggs benedict. SIDES: they have spinach, with tomatoes and garlic instead of potatoes (yeah for low carb options - saving those for the muffin). Oh and I know I mentioned the muffin but its an amazing way to top off the end of the meal!! BRUNCH PLEASE! By far one of my favorite spots for a great mimosa, and a very delicious filling breakfast. First off, the menu has endless choices, no matter what you wake up craving, the menu will have something to appeal to your wants. I always get the buffalo chicken omelet, which comes with amazing potatoes and a muffing ! I can only usually eat half and I am full, and best part is it doesn't break your bank! The mimosas are so good from the plain to the fresh fruit options. If you are a breakfast fan and have not been here I HIGHLY recommend it. My most recent visit I had the coffee to drink and Surfer Girl omelette with the everything muffin and skillet potatoes. So yummy! My girlfriend ordered the Big Stack pancakes and boy is the name fitting. The pancakes were HUGE. Way too much for just one person. She also added on stawberries for an additional $1.49. She got a whopping 6 slices (not whole) of strawberry. The ratio there just didn't add up. It also was definitely not worth the additional cost. The service has always been great. I wish I could give this 0 stars! This place is a racist piece of garbage. My partner and I came because their menu had a lot of breakfast options. When we got into the restaurant there were maybe 5 tables seated which was not a lot as their were several open tables and booths. The host sat us at the back by the bathrooms, even though as I just mentioned there were several open tables that were distanced from others. But we were still just happy to finally get breakfast. However, we sat at our table for 10 minutes without anyone coming to us asking if we wanted/needed anything (even though three servers walked past our table several times). The final straw was that a table of about 8 people came in at our 7 minute mark of waiting, we're sat, and within a minute a server approached their table and took the drink orders for all 8 people! We immediately got up, informed the host of the piss poor service and how racist they were acting (and yes the way we were serviced was racist, consciously or unconsciously), and then left. We will not be returning and I will not be recommending this place to anyone. And now I have to search for another place to eat. read more

While in Indianapolis visiting family, we thought it would be nice to have Sunday breakfast together. After doing my Yelp research, I thought Wild Eggs would be a good option. It was definitely a great choice. Be sure to get there early though, because it does get packed in there. We waited about about 20-25 minutes before being seated. While waiting, there was complimentary coffee offered which was a nice touch. When we did get seated, I was so excited to see the whole restaurant. There's actually a rounded bar that guests can sit for their meal that I thought was super cute! Our server was very knowledgeable and friendly. She really made the experience worth the wait. I ordered the lemon berry mimosa to start. For my meal, I had the breakfast burrito and substituted the fried potatoes for tater tots. The breakfast was amazing and my family seemed to enjoy their meal as well. Again, this place is packed from open to close, but I cannot wait for the next time to try Wild Eggs another time. We tried Wild Eggs for the first time this morning, as my husband and I are always looking to try new (to us) breakfast places. First thing, the restaurant is so pretty - lots of fun colors, clean, and fun breakfast-themed items on the walls. We were immediately ushered to a table, and greeted by Chris! Trust me, you want Chris as your server. He was attentive, funny, and ready to provide any and all suggestions on what to try on the menu. My husband is notoriously indecisive, and he gave Chris three different items he was trying to decide on, and with no hesitation, Chris told him his favorite of them all. He also let us know about the breakfast tots, which were SO GOOD. Get them, they were worth the small up charge in our opinion! My husband got the mushroom and garlic scramble with the breakfast tots and everything muffin. He ate every bit (minus the few bites I took). I had the raspberry and lemon pancakes with a side of skillet potatoes. My only criticism is that I wished there was more lemon curd to equal the raspberry! Otherwise, it was a sweet and delicious dish that bested me in the end. TL;DR - Get the breakfast tots, have Chris as your server, and don't hesitate to ask questions! On a road trip heading home we were not able to get in the Louisville location and continued on to Indianapolis. We did get seated quickly (as I had made a reservation). Clean and bright inside. My son got the cheeseburger kids meal...very basic. Daughter got the cinnamon roll and scraped off all the icing (too sweet). Husband and I got the bennies, chicken fried steak and kalamity Katie. Both were ok, neither bad nor spectacular. The poached eggs however were all cooked solid. When my husband showed the server and asked for new eggs she had no idea that they are to be runny. They did replace my husband's eggs. I just left mine as is but won't be going back. read more

Solid breakfast/brunch place. We came on a Saturday about 11am and easily found a parking one crosswalk away from the restaurant. We were seated with no wait. Girlfriend started with a wild berry mocha - delicious. Food arrived quickly. Return of the king (we got the peanut butter syrup on the side) is a stack of pancakes with chocolate chips, bananas, and whipped cream on top. Very good, but stick with three pancakes, we got five and it was two much even between two people. Mom had corner beef hash - it's not the kind that's mushy and looks like it's from a can (although I don't actually hate that kind), it's actual pieces of thinly sliced meat mixed in with home style potatoes. When you order coffee, they will put an entire pot in your table for you to keep so you never have to worry about getting a refill from the server. When your meal arrives they offer fresh cracked pepper table side. These are just a few of my favorite things about this place. My favorite menu item is the Mr. Potato Head. Try it and don't think twice. You may never order anything again. The Surfer Girl is also delicious, it comes with a muffin which are great. This is the third location of Wild Eggs I've been to! The first was in Louisville, the second in Carmel, and now finally, and long last, the downtown location! (Yippee!) I brought my dear friend here on her birthday. Our waitress was absolutely incredible. She made our whole experience even more incredible (hence the five stars!) She guided us through the menu (wild eggs veteran though I may be, I still like to hear the favs of the staff). We both decided on the Mr. Potato head casserole, and by George am I glad that I did! It was divine. (Pro Tip: Cholula is your friend.) I also ordered an espresso over ice with cream, it was brought in a mug, which was the only strange part of our experience, but when you go off cuff and order something not on the menu, you can't be too upset when the vessel in which it's served is a little different that what you expected. But hey! It was excellent espresso. Definitely would order it again. The food was hot, delicious, and came in a timely manner. The restaurant is clean, not too noisy, and in the perfect location. Every bit as good as its Louisville cousin, the Wild Eggs in Indianapolis takes the same basic menu and trades out a few items for more Indy-centric options. Prices are in-line with other casual sit down breakfast spots, but quality is significantly higher than most chains. If you're a fan of places like Denny's, Perkins, or Baker's Square, you'll LOVE Wild Eggs. I love their scratch-made cinnamon rolls, served in a cast iron skillet and large enough to share. They also make a great biscuits and gravy with spicy chorizo. And if you love grits, you have to check out their daily grit special, with unique ingredients that change, well, daily. :-) Only downside to this particular spot was our wait. My group of five arrived around 9 AM and though there was no wait, it took a long time to get seated. Cleverly decorated and pastel painted the interior is more charming than the store front would lead you believe. Plenty of tables and booths would satisfy many a configuration of customers. The gluten free options were among the best we've had, with options to upgrade so to speak (gluten free bananas foster French toast) the menu desserves to be explored and varied upon return visits. The hearty steak and eggs were a pleasing well seasoned plate with some russet potatoes, although the potatoes were cool to luke warm, the manager quickly remedied it. Service was good, not outstanding but good enough not to be an issue. The overall attitude and spirit of the place is friendly and inviting. I have plans to make it back here regularly. It's crowded on weekend so expect a 30 minute way, the restaurant doesn't take reservations and will give you a buzzer when your table is ready. We sat at the breakfast bar and ordered immediately. There is a TV playing sports, and it's a nice relaxing place to grab breakfast (at the breakfast bar, that is). We had the Bennies gone wild - a mushroom eggs Benedict. It was bit heavy. The eggs were covered in a smokey Bernaise sauce on top of a mushroom patty all on top of a pancake. It's a bit rich for my taste. The mushroom omelette was meh - the eggs were kinda mushy. The breakfast tamale was a miss - two eggs atop of a tamale wasn't our thing. Breakfast entree all came with a side of grits - we got the daily special grits, bacon grits. It was okay, but surprisingly lacked flavor despite the presence of bacon. read more

Dined here for brunch one Sunday morning with my sis. The wait wasn't too bad, about 20 minutes, but we found two open seats at the bar and posted up there. I thought the bar was really cool. Kind of gave it a diner feel. There was a flat screen tv in front of the bar. ANNNDDD...you can order alongside your breakfast a mimosa, blood mary or tequila sunrise. I had the tequila sunrise and it was fabulous. Almost as good as my pancakes. I ordered blueberry pancakes that were humongous and bacon. Been to the original location in Louisville a couple times, and it's definitely one of my favorite breakfast spots. So when I was staying in Indy, I was elated to find that a Wild Eggs had opened here. My wife and I were prepared for a long wait, if it was anywhere near as popular as the original. We called ahead to see how long the wait was. Phone was disconnected. Hmm. Must be really busy. We arrived around 11am to a crowd waiting in and around the entrance. We were told there would be a 45 minute wait. Curiously, there were 8 open tables! Over the course of the 45 minutes, never once was every table sat, even as the crowd waiting to sit remained. I'm sure there was a logistical restaurant reasoning to this that I don't know about. We were sat and brought some water glasses that felt like they had been rinsed in someone's spit. They smelled like dirty dishwater. We decided to pour our water into styrofoam coffee cups instead. Our server, before she got to us, was complaining about management to the table next to us. She seemd very frustrated about how things were running. Our food took a while, but that's to be expected. My French toast was good near the edges, but completely soggy mush in the middle. The server seemed salty. She brought our check and never said thank you for coming in. Damn. Just goes to show how much a place can differ from the original. read more

The Good: Coffee excellent taste and given a full insulated jug of it. Soy milk available Decor, bright and fresh. Full pitcher of water with lemon served immediately. Service was good, but the place was not busy at all mid week so it should be. 4 eggs used in the omelet. The Bad: The food took 25 minutes from placing the order, bear in mind the place was only about 20% full. The omelet (creole) had barely any filling in it, probably the worst omelet I have ever had in terms of filling. 3 small pieces of shrimp and 5 half thin slices of sausage, barely any onion or bell pepper and a thin smear of cheese. The hollandaise sauce I got on the side was unlike any hollandaise I have ever had, it was more like that nasty Velveeta than anything. That's about it. I doubt I will ever go back and if I did I would definitely avoid the omelet. read more

I continue to be pleasantly surprised by Wild Eggs. I was invited to its soft opening, and passed up the invitation. I moved within walking distance of the Delaware Street location, and still passed it up to go to places like Patachou instead. Finally, I tried Wild Eggs one morning and OH GOD I'm so glad I did. The wait is never very long and the tables turn over quickly. The longest I've waited on a busy Sunday morning was 15 minutes. On my first visit, I was quick to write it off as just a chain restaurant. I thought it looked too basic and cookie-cutter, but when I got my food, I was so surprised to find that it tasted thoughtful, original and well-crafted! I'm a vegetarian, and every veg option on the menu is incredible. They're also willing to make small modifications like leaving the meat off of a dish, or subbing in extra veg for me. The homemade buttermilk biscuits are the best biscuits I've had anywhere. The breakfast burrito is one of my favorites if I'm ravenous (or hungover). The Surfer Girl omelette is my favorite if I'm not quite as hungry, or if I'm just in the mood for something lighter. The coffee is good. The service is good. The staff is diverse and friendly. I have yet to have a bad experience. And my favorite part? The prices are so reasonable!
