We sat for about 10-15 minutes and didn't even get as much as eye-contact from any of the servers walking by our table. We caught the hosts attention and he brought us water and said he would take care of us instead. This caught the bartender's/server's attention and I overheard her tell the host she would get our table. Another 5-10 minutes go by and the server still had not came by to take care of us. We were in the middle of deciding if we wanted to leave and she finally came by. No apologies or acknowledgment regarding our wait. We had planned on ordering the juice flight, but they only had two of the nine or so options available, not enough to even order a flight. We ordered two of the juices, the croissant french toast, the chicken pesto wrap, the brunch burger, and a 'bottomless' drip coffee. The wait on the food was what we would expect with how busy it was, and the food was fantastic. No complaints to the kitchen, and it's the only reason we might give this place a second chance. As we were eating, our server came by and checked to see how we were doing, my husband asked for another coffee and I told her that I had got the wrong sauce with my fries. She apologized for the mistake and said she would be back with both the coffee and the aioli. She brought my sauce, we finished eating, but we never got another coffee. She brought us boxes when we were done eating, and my husband left to use the restroom. He came back and we still had not received our check. He went up to the bar where our server was and asked to close our tab. She said she'd come by our table to ring us up. She apologized for not bringing the check sooner and that it was 'hectic' (it was almost three o'clock with maybe four people at the bar and many many open tables). With the exception of the host, everyone on the floor was generally unfriendly and we felt very unimportant. I can't imagine what it would've been like had we gone during the peak time for a brunch place. Very impressed with the food, unfortunately it was overshadowed by the poor service.

The mistake was they made it with banana peppers instead of bell peppers. Honestly, I would not have cared if banana peppers were used. They should have called or texted, apologized for the error and just asked if we wanted a new one or if the banana peppers were fine. But instead I had to wait another 15 minutes for them to make a new pizza. By the time I got home it was an hour after we had planned to eat. I'll know better next time we want pizza and order from a place that has better service.

I've found some really great restaurants here over the years, so I was especially excited to finally make it to Bluebeard. Each year during Devour, my husband and I pick a restaurant for each other as a surprise, and this year I chose Bluebeard. We had a 6:15 reservation and arrived about 10 minutes late due to traffic. I apologized, and we were promptly seated. Unfortunately, that's where the experience started to go downhill. Our server took about 15 minutes to come over, and although our appetizer arrived quickly (chips&dip), our drinks took another 15 minutes. I held off on ordering our meal because I wanted to do the Devour menu with the wine pairing. The food & drinks was a mixed bag: - Beauregard cocktail: 10/10 - Chips & avocado ranch dip: 8/10 - Crudo: 9/10 - Smoked fish dip: 4/10 - Mushroom ravioli: 8/10 - Short Rib Ragu: 3/10 - Chocolate crème brûlée: 3/10 There were definitely some great dishes, but the slow service and inconsistent food were disappointing for a restaurant with this reputation. The biggest issue came toward the end of the meal. The hostess came to our table and told us we needed to hurry because she needed the table for another reservation. **We were still waiting for dessert.** I explained that the service had been very slow and that we were waiting on our desserts. Our server apologized and said the hostess likely didn't realize what had been happening and was under stress. I completely understand that Devour can bring in more traffic than usual, but that's also something a restaurant at this level needs to be prepared to handle. We shouldn't have been made to feel rushed when the delays were not on our end. I really wanted to love Bluebeard after having it on my list for five years, but unfortunately, it didn't live up to my expectations. For comparison, some of my favorite Indy restaurants for both food and service are Bocca, Union 50, Matador, Rosemary & Olive, Tinker Street, Strange Bird, Delicia, and Bodhi. Maybe we caught Bluebeard on an off night, but for me, this experience fell short.

We sat at the breakfast bar. The coffee was hot and bloody Mary's had a spicy salty rim. I had to pick between the mushroom garlic scrambled and the surfer girl omelet. I ended up going with the surfer girl omelet, which was mostly filled with different veggies and sprouts on top. I would say the surfer girl was an amazing pick and recommended to me by the waiter. The hash browns were small little potato bites. It seemed like those were pulled out of a frozen bag, not made in house. Shawn, our waiter, was super awesome, fast paced, and knowledgeable. The nicest part about sitting at the breakfast bar was that there were hooks underneath for your bag and coat. I wish the seats had a little more support to them, but all in all, it was decently comfy. The wait on Saturdays and Sundays is usually very long like 45-1 hour. I've heard of longer waits before for this place, so it was nice that we got there in time to sit down right away. They can seat pretty large groups, but it will be a wait. Once I stepped inside, I couldn't believe how much bigger the place was than I actually thought. There is a college crowd there on the weekends- FYI for anyone with families. Recommendation: the breakfast potatoes could use a bit of flare to make them unique! read more

I recently dined at Wild Eggs in downtown Indianapolis and had a delightful experience. The Carolina skillet, biscuits with bacon and regular gravy, and the mad platter were all delicious. The biscuits were particularly noteworthy for being light and fluffy. The potatoes and pancakes also earned our approval. The Carolina skillet could use a tad less sauce, according to one in our group, but overall, the flavors were a hit. We also tried their espresso martini and bourbon latte, both of which were fantastic. The espresso martini had a unique hint of chocolate, almost like chocolate milk. However, there was a hiccup with one member of our party having to reorder three times due to food unavailability. Thankfully, the third attempt was successful. The interior, featuring a cool circular blue bar reminiscent of a retro car, added to the overall ambiance. It's relaxing and filled with pastel colors. Despite a busy period, the servers were exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Service was a bit slow, likely due to the crowd, but our server's friendliness compensated for it. I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately, the food just missed the mark. I ordered a scramble without tomatoes, with sausage and bacon, but when my plate arrived, it was covered in tomatoes. While I was able to scoop them off, it was frustrating to have to do so. I also ordered eggs over easy, but they were cooked over hard. The food itself was lukewarm, as if it had been sitting out for a while, and unfortunately, the flavors just didn't come together well. My wife and I both struggled to finish our meals, and even after leaving, I had an unpleasant taste lingering in my mouth, reminding me of how disappointing the meal was. That said, I do want to acknowledge the positives: the presentation of the dish was nice, and both our server and the cook were incredibly kind and respectful. Their hospitality was appreciated, and I genuinely wish the food had matched their level of service. Maybe it was just an off day, but breakfast is usually such a simple thing to get right. Simple place, love that the interior's colors are pale. Give a bit of a cool and clean feeling. Some of their decorations, however, are very eye-catching. The roosters on the cashier, the paintings, even the wall lights. It's a big place. Very spacious. They offer a variety of menus most of which revolves around eggs. Which is exactly what they are offering and what their name stands for. You can build your own omelet by the way. Serving size is perfect for its price. I ordered a buffalo chicken omelet and my wife ordered their farmers market skillet with their everything muffin. Both of our orders were served hot and fresh which made u enjoy our meal even more. We made reservations for Saturday brunch and had a great meal! The border Benedict is fantastic and the fresh squeezed mimosas are so good. The everything muffin on the side was also really delicious. We had a group of 6 so we ordered mimosa pitchers that had provided about 9-10 glasses each so it's a solid bang for your buck. I have no ldea what their Covid-19 operating parameters are, but before the Pandemic we went here on a Saturday and enjoyed some excellent mimosas for just $2 each!! The other dressing may have been good but the mayo really paired well. Finally, the club sandwich was again prepared perfectly. Fresh meat, perfectly toasted bread (some places under toast and many over toast) - it was quite tasty. The French fries were fried so that they were crispy (but not overdone) on the outside but soft inside.
