4.5/5! my friend chose this spot on main st in pleasanton downtown and i didn't have the highest expectations cause most of the restaurants there are pretty subpar. but i was really surprised by how much i loved the food here! i ordered a white peach sangria which was yum and my main was the chicken and shrimp enchiladas. the sauce that came with the enchiladas was what really made this dish excellent. it's a similar sauce i believe in their other dishes and it really elevated their foods' flavor so much. we made a reservation and we're able to sit inside, a cute spot. the service was also good, no complaints! read more

Was scrolling online and found this place and liked the looks of their menu. Took the hubby there for Friday night dinner and we got there just before the rush a little after 530. . It's a small place but it's clean and well-maintained. The server was friendly and helpful. I ordered the pork plantain flautas and my husband had the chicken and shrimp enchiladas and both were delicious and I loved the plate presentation. They have wine, beer and soda for beverages. It was nice and cool inside which was welcome on a hot day. Will definitely be back as I like the menu as it's not typical Mexican fare but with a twist. And the ingredients are so fresh. Good (and different) Mexican food! Their menu definitely has some unique options you don't see at other Mexican restaurants so that was a nice change of pace. Fresh Mexican-Californian cuisine!! The food is fresh, colorful and delicious and all cooked to order. We've been here a few times and I have to share my review. The restaurant is in downtown Pleasanton on Main Street. It's a smaller restaurant with tables inside and out. The interior is colorful and welcoming. My son has been here a few times and raves about the housemade hot sauce!! He puts it on everything and uses an entire bottle every time. This light green sauce is really good. It's creamy and mildly spicy. We each had an entree and tried two appetizers tonight. Two Pigs-crispy pork chicharrones with bacon and cojita ranch served with pinto bean dip. My son's first time trying chicharrones and he could have had the entire plate to himself!! Guacamole and Pico de Gallo were served with chips-very fresh and tasty. Steak Fajitas are my youngest son's favorite!! Thinly sliced steak with onions and peppers served with brown rice, guacamole, refried pinto beans and flour tortillas. The steak is tender and full of flavor. Carnitas burrito-my oldest son loves the burritos here. He said the burrito is full of chunks of carnitas and he douses each bite with the chef's hit sauce. Avocado Lime Chicken-crispy panko crusted chicken served with Serrano avocado sauce, pico de Gallo, black beans and brown rice. Salmon a la Plancha-I enjoyed this grilled salmon dish. I opted for more veggies instead of brown rice. It was colorful and delicious. My family enjoyed a delicious dinner and will definitely be back!! Tip-don't forget to check in!! Excellent Mexican restaurant in downtown Pleasanton. My wife and I visited for lunch a couple of weeks ago. We sat indoors though they have decent outdoor seating, as there were a lot of yellow jackets in the area. The interior was clean and nicely decorated, and we were seated at a table by the window. We started with a drink and an appetizer. The drink - a Piña Colada sangria - came free with Yelp Check-in; they also offer white peach, pomegranate, wild strawberry and traditional citrus flavors. The app was crispy plantains with sour cream. The plantains were perfect - warm, sweet, with just the right amount of "crisp" to them. The sour cream complemented the plantains beautifully; the proprietor told us the chef is picky and special orders it, and it certainly showed. I'd go back for just for this dish alone! We then ordered our lunch entrées - salmon a la plancha for me, grilled chicken enchiladas for my better half. The salmon was healthy AND tasty; it was served on a bed of grilled veggies and brown rice. I also tasted my wife's dish - the mole sauce was authentic, and complemented the grilled chicken enchilada very nicely. Another winner! After lunch, I was hoping for a nice dessert, like flan or churros - but they didn't have either. It didn't matter though; we simply swung by the gelato shop next door to satisfy our sweet craving, then walked off the calories and sugar with a leisurely stroll along the leafy boulevards of Pleasanton. Bruno was such an awesome server! Me and my husband stopped by for a quiet dinner and we felt so cared for! I've been to plenty of restaurants in my day and know that great customer service is sometimes hit or miss. But Bruno continued to check on us, made sure to get us food out in a timely manner, kept our glasses full, our chips overflowing and accommodated literally every request ( and I always have at least one extra request) without as much as a hesitation or a sense of irritation. The food itself was satisfying and flavorful. Really no complaints. While I wouldn't consider this a purely authentic Mexican spot, I'd say it's a healthier twist on Mexican Food. Organic Brown Rice, Fresh Watermelon Salad, Vegetables Dishes and vegan options, etc, this is a good place for someone wanting mexican food without the "itis" or food comma that can sometimes follow a heavy meal ( this is actually why we decided to go). I got the California Camarones and was totally satisfied with my meal. I wouldn't say the dish was out of this world or anything extra special, but it was tasty and I would definitely reorder. The service itself was superb though and I would definitely eat their again for that reason. Really no complaints. My lasting impression of this restaurant goes to the great service Bruno provided me and my husband. Quaint Mexican restaurant in downtown with excellent service and beautifully prepare food. The waitress is super friendly and gave outstanding recommendations. I think she's the owner. They make their horchata fresh (not from a mix) and their sangria. I didn't order sangria but she offered a sample if I wanted to try it. My friend ordered the Crispy Pork and Plantain Flautas. They looked so appetizing and delicious in pictures that she needed to try them. Those flautas did not disappoint! Everything was fresh and the Mexican flavors were escalated. I ordered the Salmon a la Plancha per the waitress's recommendation. It was amazingly fabulous and bursting with many flavors. Since I'm following a keto diet, I ordered it without the brown rice and opted for more veggies instead. I will definitely be back with my family to try more dishes! read more

The attendant is pretty attentive and on top of everything. Impressive. I have ordered Chicken Fajitas, 2 Pigs Appetizer, Steak Salad and Carne Asada with Homemade Pomegranate Sangria. The most impressive is the 2 Pigs appetizer; large chicharron with drizzles of white sauce (cream) and pickled red onion - yum!!! crowd-pleaser!!! Not enough flavor for the carne asada. Chicken Fajita is interesting reminds me of Peruvians style, okay. Received complimentary Sangria if check in to promote their new house-made drink. Don't you hate it when you order tacos and you're forced to scrape the cheese off beans because the taco you ordered has zero cheese? This was more of a weird experience, but nevertheless disappointing. Not sure if it was experimental new-age cooking, or just a bad idea, but the tacos just sucked. Overly greased soft tortillas, dry chicken (or dry beef in the other one), this really inappropriate thousand-island mustardy sauce, and WAY too many cold red onion slices to top everything off. What an odd combination of flavors. It is family friendly with equal indoor and outdoor seating. The waitress was very kind and knew what's in the dishes could be personalized and not. The cleanliness is good. We came back after sometime to get a quick bite for lunch, and so glad we did and still furious why we did not do so earlier. The staff here is really friendly and also the service is fast. We got the chips, salsa, guac platter to start and they have this house made lemon spicy dip which is great. For the main plates we got the Camarones California ( shrimps) and the Salmon Negro. Both these dishes were so tasty and flavorful. The shrimp dish had a nice salad and also yummy brown rice that went really well together. Also, the salmon was grilled perfectly and with amazing cajun spices. The sweet potatoes were great in the salmon dish. I've eaten at Wild One twice so far-- both dined there. Once before Covid and just a few weeks ago. The first time I was there I was at a Gem Show at the fair grounds. Second time I was going to plant nurseries with a friend. Let me tell you, this place is beyond delicious! You can see that by the photos. Both times I came I got the salmon and my friend got nachos and the ahi. He said it was beyond words. The salmon was so fresh without a fishy taste, seasoned very well, topped with all Fresh salsa and the rice was good too. I didn't feel super heavy after eating. Okay, I don't understand why this has such high reviews. I hate to give it low stars because the service was really kind and sweet. But when it comes to the quality and flavor of food, all the entrees were weird. Quesadilla had little flavor and had a wrap that looked like naan. Crispy tacos, felt like a salad with a wrap and meat added. The burrito, also tasted the same. This restaurant's flavor feels like an American joint with a mexican name to it. The great thing about this place is their sauce and fries. We loved it, it was one of a kind and delicious. But overall, the price and food we received was unsatisfying. read more

I asked the server for a vegetarian recommendation, and he suggested the taquitos. I'm so glad I took his recommendation, and I will be back to try the six other vegetarian options. This restaurant has a very casual vibe inside, with a tv playing a repeat of a football game from last week. I would love to sit outside on a warmer night for great people watching on Main Street.
