I've never actually eaten at Wilder but all of the cocktails are delicious and it's a great place to go on a date or with a group of friends, especially for a Sunday Funday. Unfortunately didn't get to experience Wilder's food and had a negative experience with service (or lack there of) this past weekend. My bf and I attempted to eat brunch around noon on Saturday. We received a friendly greeting by the host and were promptly seated. Restaurant was casual, clean, and demonstrated all the trademarks of a quality brunch place based on atmosphere. We received menus and water, then nothing... crickets... nada. After 15 minutes without even an acknowledgement from a server, we gave up and left. The place was not busy, roughy 20-30 percent occupancy. The host stand was staffed with two people who appeared to mostly be busy with their phones. Unsure about how many servers were working. Regardless, it doesn't take much to swing by, introduce yourself, and say, "I'll be right with you." Not sure if this was a one-off occurrence, but it was a less than inspiring experience. We ordered the yuca fries, smoked brisket grilled cheese, and smoked brisket hash. yuca fries 3/5 - perfect crispness but i wish it came with different dipping sauce, not ketchup smoked brisket grilled cheese 4/5 - i think this one is worth getting! the side salad was good and the brisket was delicious. i wish the amount of cheese was uniform within the sandwich. smoked brisket hash 2/5 - very hearty but it was very plain. the meat needed more salt since it just tasted like fat. i added chulula and salsa to give it more acidity and it saved the dish. i wish the dish came with salsa already. overall this place is decent. i would go back for drinks and dinner since their dinner food looks better. read more

My plan was originally to only order fries, but that quickly dissolved as I saw the rest of the extensive menu, and I ended up basically having a full fledged dinner. It seemed like there would've been a wait to eat inside, but we got to choose wherever we wanted to sit outside. They've got QR codes to order and pay online. We had the: Fried Brussels sprouts and calamari ($19) - 5/5. So crispy and delicious but didn't taste oily. Also, I think it's brilliant to combine calamari and Brussels sprouts. Yuca fries ($10) - 4/5. Each of these was super thick and had a great crust. I wasn't a fan of the dip; it was overly sour and watery in my opinion. Ketchup was a better pairing. Spanish mussels with chorizo ($21) - 4/5. Lots of mussels and chunks of chorizo. The only sad part was that they only gave us two slices of bread to soak up that savory broth. The cocktail menu here looks great too, so I'll have to try that next time! read more

The drinks are good here, but the food is very meh... I came here with a few friends and we all ordered different items on the menu. None of us were super impressed with any of the dishes we ordered. It wasn't bad, just mediocre. And the price!!!!! The food definitely is not worth the price. The charcuterie board was so pricy but super underwhelming. The board was so empty!! It came with an OK amount of cheese and meat but only a few tiny pieces of bread? On top of that, one of the chicken dishes came severely undercooked. However, they did comp the price of that dish and the one we had to order to replace it. Additionally, I do not understand why they are serving food in skillets. Didn't realize this was more of a bar than a restaurant, but I based my decision on the fact that I booked a reservation on Open Table and wasn't expecting this. The place is super noisy and if you're looking for an intimate dinner this is not the place. Drunk people would regularly stumble in the dining side of the restaurant and the food was subpar at best. Probably the only thing that was decent was the burrata with crostini, and for whatever reason the chef seems to be obsessed with balsamic glaze. It was on almost every dish we had. This is a pretty solid restaurant with good drinks and good food. I will say that the menu is a bit limited. I wish they had more of a variety. The bolognese pasta is very good and the texture of the noodles were great. A few bites in and I was already full! The espresso martini was one of the best I've had as well. Our server was very polite and personable, but it was a bit slow. Maybe it just took a while for the food to be prepared, but he didn't check on us as much as I would've liked. The waiters for our table were periodically checking on us at the perfect times. A member of our party dropped his jacket off his chair a few times, and they were so prompt and caring to help pick it up. The food was fantastic; almost our entire party got the burgers. My husband and I hosted a dinner here for 25 friends a few nights before our wedding and were blown away with the service, food, and ambiance. We rented the "Wilderside" private room, which could seat up to 25 people, so it worked perfectly. I worked closely with someone from Wilder in the week leading up to the event to curate a menu that made sure to provide options for all of our guests. They even asked for a picture of my husband and I, printing copies and putting them throughout the room. Such a special and unexpected touch!! We also received a comp'd bottle of champagne to share with guests which really was just so thoughtful. We had one server for all 25 guests, but she did a stellar job and no one went drinkless or foodless. We only had the room booked for 3 hours, but once our time was up, we weren't rushed out of there whatsoever. I would host another event here without a doubt -- food, drinks, and service was top notch!! 10/10 recommend for a fun, casual dinner with friends or a large group!! read more

I came here with my partner week 2 of the playoffs around 2p, the streets were energetic but the restaurant wasn't too busy. We chose to sit outside and were greeted by all of the lovely pups (I personally enjoyed this ahhaa). There is seating outside that is a little more covered, that would prevent all the pup action if that's not for you. We were seated right away & the host was very accommodating. It was a little chilly in the shade & she went out of her way to make sure to seat us at a tablet that got plenty of sun. +1 Wilder! I ordered The Whiskey Glaze French Toast, I asked for it without the whipped cream but I knew when the server didn't write it down that I was going to get whipped cream on my french toast. Aside from that the food was delicious. I was a little hesitant about not getting syrup with my dish but it absolutely did not need it. My partner ordered the Smoked Brisket Grilled Cheese. He thought the side salad was really good. We also ordered a side of fries which were phenomenal, not your regular fry. For Drinks we ordered a moscow mule (it was not great) and a watermelon margarita. The watermelon margarita was good but nothing too noteworthy. I do want to go back to drink out of one of their party bowls. The service was just okay, we waited a while for our server to get back to us before we could order a 2nd round of drinks. Good thing she didn't check on us too much because whew that bill would have been even higher. Overall, the meal was really good and will come back for a boozy brunch with the girls. I do think the meal was overpriced but it's San Francisco, definitely not an every weekend kind of place. read more

Grabbed dinner with my husband and this place did not disappoint. I recommend sitting outside since it can get a little loud inside for a casual conversation. The watermelon margarita was super tasty and came with a Tajin rim. We really enjoyed the garlic bread and pork belly buns as our appetizers. My husband really enjoyed his steak and I liked the pork chop. If I were to order it again, I'd get it without the apple sauce on top. The cinnamon taste was a little strong, but when I pushed it off to the side the flavor did not linger. The apple turnover was also super good.
