    French Toast

I originally found this place on Beli's top 10 brunch list when looking for recommendations. A picture of their French toast caught my eye, and since that is my favorite brunch dish, I just had to go try it. They allow reservations so I would recommend making one before going. They are on the smaller side, but have seating both indoors and outdoors. We were seated right away despite our reservation being 15 minutes later. It can get a littleee crowded based on how busy they are so definitely be prepared to get a little comfy. Getting into the food, the French toast definitely met my expectations. It's a croissant French toast with custard and berries. It was SO good. We also got a chicken sandwich, which was great. The star of the show in this dish was the garlic aioli served with the sandwich. The fries were also very crispy and seasoned well. Finally, I also tried the quiche. The pastry tasted very good along with the eggs. I would very much recommend trying this place for brunch sometime!

Lovely and bustling French bistro in Cow Hollow. My partner and I squeezed in a reservation for SF Restaurant Week, as we thought the menu looked fantastic -- and we were right! Every single dish was so, so delicious, and the portions were solid. The servers were friendly and attentive, even though they were very busy. I would recommend making a reservation ahead of time, given how popular this spot is. I will definitely be coming back!

Came with a group of 4 who had a sudden French onion soup craving. We also ordered the salmon , mussels and fries. Service was quick and efficient. The mussels broth was the perfect accompaniment to the bread. The salmon could have been a little bit more flavorful- could have used more helpings of the bisque sauce it came with. Overall a good experience and we'll be back to try more.

Our family of four had a wonderful experience at this cute neighborhood restaurant. It was packed on a Thursday night, and we are glad we made reservations. The service is impressive with real French servers imported from France!! All of the food is well-prepared. We had: 1. The raviolis as a starter 2. The tartare as a starter 3. The traditional green salad 4. Steak frites--one with the goat iron steak and one with the filet, both excellent 5. French onion soup 6. Black cod 7. Duck confit 8. Tart tartin 9. Crème brulee I think the weakest dish was the confit, which was a bit surprising, given that is such a traditional French dish. It was just kind of dry. Everything else was fantastic! It was a very good value, too. We had a bottle of some kind of French Sauv Blanc that was only 50 bucks but excellent. Great spot and will be back.

Cutest little hidden gem! So we came to this place on my Boss's recommendation for a party! The spot was rather small for our group of 17 but the restaurant made it work. They had the cutest menu made up just for our office with my Boss's company name on it! I thought the personalization was a nice touch! There was a prefixed menu with starters for the group, personal starters, entrees and desserts. Our waitress was Sierra and she was super attentive and handled our huge group like a champ! The food was absolutely delicious! I had the steak frites (so sorry I forgot the photo) but from the apps to the entrees down to the crème brûlée I was licking my fingers in the end! I will have to come back with hubby for our next little date night out!

Little delicious jem, really enjoyed our brunch. Small & cozy but fun ambience. Service was great, waiter was fun. Dishes very pretty & yummy.

The menu has a pretty big variety of dishes to choose from, including vegetarian, meat and seafood options. There's also a good collection of different appetizers and desserts. Great wine selection. I highly recommend trying to the tiger prawn salad and beet salad - unique and tasty dishes. The butternut squash soup (yum!) is made of coconut milk. You can't go wrong with any of the mains. The steak frites are good, although the peppercorn sauce is a bit different from what I'm used to. The beef bourguignon has a really hearty flavor. The scallops with risotto is my favorite though - perfectly cooked and well flavored. The service is great and the atmosphere is pretty lively. There are heaters for the outdoor seating so it stays very comfortable. We went on a weeknight so it wasn't super busy, but I'm sure on Fridays, Saturdays and Sunday, it gets crowded so I highly recommend making a reservation.

Côte Ouest Bistro is an absolute gem! My spouse and I came with high expectations and they were exceeded. We were lucky to snag a reservation (this place definitely fills up!), and every part of the experience was fantastic. We started with the Escargots de Bourgogne, served in rich parsley and garlic butter with puff pastry which was perfectly tender and so flavorful. The Xipirons à la Plancha (sautéed calamari with Serrano ham, Anaheim pepper, balsamic, and persillade) was beautifully balanced and bursting with flavor. For mains, we had the Boeuf Bourguignon, which was melt in your mouth tender, served with creamy mashed potatoes, pearl onions, and pancetta, def a comfort food at its finest. We also ordered frites, which were crisp and golden, a perfect side. Every dish was exquisite and thoughtfully prepared. The bistro has a cozy, charming neighborhood vibe that feels both relaxed and special. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home throughout the evening. We absolutely loved the food and the experience and we'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu. Côte Ouest is a must-visit if you're in the area!

    Restaurant Week DAY BOAT Scallops

I came here for the $60 SF Restaurant Week Prix Fixe Menu. My party arrived 30 minutes early but was able to be seated right away. The restaurant was lively, packed full on a Tuesday night. The service was amazing! Our female service was attentive throughout dinner, getting us more bread to finish off our chicken liver mousse, bringing small sharing plates since we were eating family style, and even noticed our table was wobbly and fixed it for us. All the staff were constantly refilling our water glasses. I didn't have an empty cup at any point of the meal. Appetizer: Would get again - BUTTERNUT SQUASH SOUP Butternut velouté, coconut milk, roasted chestnut. This had almost a well sifted mash potato smooth yet textured mouth feel. - PORT CHICKEN LIVER MOUSSE Chicken liver mousse, port gelée, rustic batard toast. This was delicious on the toasted bread. I used the complimentary bread to finish the remaining mousse. Mains Pass on the BISTRO STYLE STEAK FRITES 8 oz Bavette steak, served with French fries and a peppercorn sauce. The steak was underwhelming. There was silver skin still attached, making cutting difficult. The flavor wasn't anything special. The peppercorn sauce had a strong punch to it, similar to the strength of very strong A1 sauce. The Garlic Aioli was the star of this dish. I'd get the Garlic Aioli again I would get the DAY BOAT SCALLOPS again. Sautéed day boat scallops, mushrooms, spinach and yellow corn risotto, sunchokes chips, lobster bisque beurre blanc sauce. The risotto was perfectly soft but not mushy. The corn was sweet and juicy. The chips somehow stayed crispy and added amazing texture. If I could only get one thing, it'd be this. Both of the desserts were alright. I wish this had more non-chocolate options like a fruity frozen dessert. We ordered the - PROFITEROLE - Cream puff dough, vanilla ice cream, warm chocolate sauce, almonds - The MOELLEUX CHOCOLAT- Warm chocolate cake, salted caramel, whipped cream, crème Anglaise and finished with a sprinkle of crushed nuts and crispy wafers, was a little dry on the inside.

Came here per a recommendation from a family friend for a birthday dinner! I love a good steak tartare but unfortunately they only serve that Thursdays-Sundays, so we couldn't include that in our Tuesday night dinner . The restaurant itself was really cute. There's not too much space inside but they have a nice outdoor area flooded with heating lamps with was great. We brought our dog so the outdoor seating worked out well for us! The menu wasn't huge, similar to most French restaurants we've been to, but they definitely had the classics. They also had this "set" menu where you could choose from either one app and one entree, or one entree and one dessert. We ended up getting two of those with the soup and salad, and adding an extra entree. The highlight was definitely the French onion soup. The mussels were also yummy but I can't say they were the best mussels we've ever had. The pork chop initially came out a bit undercooked but they gladly fixed that for us and the fish was tasty but nothing too special. Overall, I'm really glad we got to try this place and definitely recommend for a cute date night!

Special of the night: pork chop

Best French restaurant in the SF!! After trying many mediocre and expensive French bistros, this is the jackpot!! The food is delicious and so reasonable priced, especially for the Marina. All the entrees priced at mid $30, which is incredible deal for huge pork chop, duck confit or steak & frites. The starters are also great for sharing and the bread is complimentary. Lastly, don't skip dessert! The floating island is my all time favorite with meringue and vanilla custard sauce but all the choices looked great. The vibe is great both inside with tall ceilings and mirrors as well as outdoor seating with heating lamps. Service is warm....yes, the French can be :P Can't wait to return!

It wasn't even in our game plan to have brunch today, but while walking past C.O.B., the food caught our eyes. Hmmmm, looks pretty dang good. We were lucky to find a table and planted our butts down to enjoy a wonderful meal in the outskirts of Cow Hollow/Marina. Ooooooooey and goooooooey YUM. The French onion soup and a salad was my perfect brunch today. My BF chose the eggs Benedict and that was pretty tasty too. Just another bon appetit day in San Francisco with all the fixings. P.S. - the bread was AMAZING! Crunchy outside and a chewing soft inside. That in itself is worth the visit!

Visited Cote Ouest Bistro for an SF Restaurant Week lunch in the early afternoon on a Friday and it was lively! A few tables open but lots of people chatting, eating, and drinking, which was a great sign. Service was friendly despite the busyness. The Restaurant Week menu offered a choice of either an appetizer and entree, or entree and dessert for $45. We ordered the beet and goat cheese salad, chicken liver mousse with port jelly, steak frites, boeuf bourguignon, seared scallops, and the apple tarte. The chicken liver mousse was an excellent start, but the beet and goat cheese salad was absolutely phenomenal! The goat cheese was coated in kataifi and fried so that it was crunchy on the outside, and warm and cheesy on the inside. The mix of the kumquats, shallots, and pistachios offered acidity and sweetness and perfectly balanced out the bitterness of the arugula in the salad - as an arugula-hater, I absolutely loved this salad and wouldn't have wanted any other green. The boeuf bourguignon was rich, savory, and so comforting. The scallop risotto was also perfectly cooked and the dish as a whole was just another example of a well-balanced plate of flavors and textures with the creamy risotto, crispy sunchoke chips, and super-sweet corn, alongside the tender and sweet scallops. The steak frites was good, although there was a tendon or something similar through the length of it - it didn't quite compare to the scallop risotto or boeuf bourguignon but it was simple and tasty! It was nice to have a dessert for something sweet to conclude the meal, but I think next time I'd just go with a third appetizer since they were so delicious. The Restaurant Week menu is a great deal, but more importantly introduced us to some really wonderful dishes at this local spot. Would definitely love to come back and recommend checking them out, Restaurant Week or otherwise!

The inside of the restaurant is charming, with plentiful bar seating to watch as dishes are prepared in front of you in an open kitchen. The menu itself is constantly evolving and may be different with every visit. That being said, the main menu is a prix fixe 4-course meal with the option to add on 2-3 additional dishes to share. The meal starts with a amuse-bouche, generally a cold soup. For us it was a chilled golden beet soup, which tasted a bit like a nice, creamy sweet corn. One of the add-ons was the pâté de campagne, a blend of pork and fatty liver. Paired with a dijon mustard and fresh sourdough bread, it was surprisingly elevated for such a simple dish. Next were a pair of fish dishes that were the highlights of the meal, including sierra mackerel with fennel and peach, and monkfish and smoked butter. The monkfish was a particular standout as it was coated with a dill sauce, and complimented with the sweetness of diced rhubarb and earthiness of hazelnuts. The monkfish featured a smoky and lightly spiced flavor. The dish was extremely well-balanced and paired sweet, savory, sour, spicy, and smoky to a tee. Really excellent. The octopus and yukon potato was an add-on - the octopus was extremely tender, not rubbery at all, and the potatoes were perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside and soft like a mashed potato on the inside. The meal ended with a hanger steak which was solid, but compared to the other dishes, less extravagant. The dessert featured a rose sorbet, with milk foam and strawberries. As a whole, Mijoté dishes are simple, layered and extremely satisfying to eat. While presentationally may not blow you away, the taste will leave you feeling satisfied. The blend of French and Japanese culinary tradition and cuisine, Mijoté is comforting, elevated, and balanced. Very rare to find fine-dining that tastes so great while also feeling homey at the same time. If in SF, absolutely worth a visit.

With most non-main dishes around $15, it's a great way to slowly snack the afternoon away. French Onion Soup: Packed full of flavor! They put a lot of care into the cooking the onions, since they were nicely caramelized. This helped the soup flavor profile. With the soaked bread and cheese on top, it was quite a hearty soup. Beef Tartar: It seemed like the meat was diced small by hand, not mechanically processed into ground beef, which is how it should be. It came to the table pre-mixed except for the quail egg on top. The flavor had a nice a Dijon mustard tang. The portion of crispy crostini was just right for the amount of meat (many places short change you on that). Roasted Bone Marrow: Looks primal, with one large bone cut cross sectionally and charred on top. They added some Dijon mustard and breadcrumbs before the broiling, which really enhanced the experience. A little goes a long way with this intense marrow spread of crostini. Escargot: Traditional preparation, but I was pleasantly surprised that they added double escargot in every buttery hole. At first I thought it was a mistake, but then realize it was by design as every hole was filled that way. Such a nice treat. Duck Confit Croquettes: Three crispy dense balls with lots of shreds of duck inside. Plus a very pleasant presentation of sauce and pistachios on top. While I liked all the flavors and textures, I wasn't a fan of the fact that inside duck was chilled. Wish the whole ball was warm. Strawberry Fruit Crumble: Not what I was expecting for a crumble. Was more like buttery cookie crumbled on top, but it actually worked. The real star were the fresh strawberries in three forms: diced, sauce and ice cream. So delicious!

Best French restaurant in SF IMO!…read more If you're getting anything off the menu, I recommend the LES MOULES POULETTE . This plate is an assortment of mussels, bacon, garlic, white wine, cream, and parsley. Make sure you order bread as well, so that you can dip it into the plate/sauce . Staff is friendly and there's also outdoor seating which is perfect for the summer. This place is located in Potrero Hill, surrounded by other restaurants, bars, and a book store. Make sure to take a walk around the neighborhood after.

Was busy as usual but I came with a group of two(highly recommended) as the seating was much faster than the larger parties. The portions for some of the entrees are huge so be mindful not to over order! We tried the mussels which were delicious and the sauce it came with was great with the fries from the hamburger. I found the burger to be way more luxurious than what you'd normally expect. Again be prepared some things can be quite large. we also tried the soup of the day which was this lovely tomato basil soup and the pork chop which was perfectly cooked with another great sauce that i kept on dipping the fries in. One last note is the atmosphere it definitely feels like a nice cozy cafe that makes you wanna stay and chat with ur neighbors. Had a blast and i'm looking forward to trying their other entrees someday!

Flexible fine dining…read more Heard about this place from a friend and figured we would try it out. It was pretty easy to secure a resy on open table. The inside is dimly lit yet warm and the staff were extremely friendly. The intriguing thing about their menu setup is its modularity - choose between 3-5 courses with any combination of appetizers, entrees, and desserts. Not being super big on desserts, we opted to share 2 x 3 courses, which was more than enough (too much) food. Seared Ahi Tuna 4/5 - Fresh tuna with a gentle sear, paired with avocado and an herbaceous dressing Seared Scallops 5/5 - Perfectly seared scallops on a bed of pasta. The earthiness of the cumin paired well carrots and pumpkin seeds. Branzini 5/5 - Fish was incredibly flakey with a satisfying crispy skin. Didn't know raisins and capers went together, but it does. Sweet and salty. Roast Lobster 5/5 - Can't hate on lobster when it cooked right. Edamame in mashed potatoes surprised me in a good way. They actually both have mild flavors with different textures and absorbed the sauce well. I used the bread to soak up the extra sauce Roast Quail 4/5 - Quail is always tough to do right. Their quails were really tiny, which was kinda cute and welcome (I didn't really want to eat a large quantity of quail anyway). The only bones is just from the drumsticks, which makes it very easy to eat. The meat itself was tender and the inside contained a sweet stuffing. The pasta on the side was al dente and the addition of lightly cooked spigarello provided a nice contrast in texture and taste. Filet of Beef 5/5 - Juicy steak, cooked medium rare. Potato gratin seems like the appropriate pairing, though I wish it was slightly crispier. Bone marrow bearnaise tied it all together. If I were to summarize the menu, it feels classic at first glance with unexpected ingredient pairings. They were quite intelligent about their menu in that they provide a solid number of choices. I did notice that they do recycle some of their sauces across dishes, which is probably how they get away with a larger menu. We were celebrating a special occasion and they did provide us with a complimentary cake and small bites, which was welcome. I am really glad we didn't order actual dessert because that would have been too much. They also give you a pineapple cake to take home, which was nice. If I were to go back in time, I would have not eaten the complimentary bread as it turned out I needed the stomach space. We haven't been back since 10 years exactly next month. Came to celebrate Father's Day , my bday, and anniversary! The 3 course went up in price due to inflation from $83 to $130pp. It's more expensive than getting the 5 course back then. 3 course is a good size to share for 2 people so you get to try 6 dishes. Cheese spread is intense but counts a dish for 4 Types of cheese. They bring the cart to you, we didn't order but saw many did. We skipped the appetizer and dessert to ge the most bang for the buck. We saw others getting salads though. Scallop, Lobster, Branzini fish, duck, Lamb, and filet Bonus starter soup My fav dish was the scallop Though most dishes I would say are on the salty side They gave us each a small dessert plate to celebrate Get to leave with the breakfast pineapple goodie Ambiance was a bit chiller than I recall though I was naive to fine dining back then. They do still fold the napkins for you when you step away from the table though.
