After 4 hour delayed flight, the team took us for a lovely dinner at wild fire. The team had 3 bottles of wine and had a private room reserved for dinner. The team had bacon wrapped scallops and wedged salad for dinner to start with then each had their own steak. The food was good. K had a rib- eye with broccoli which was cooked nicely. My rib-eye was juicy and huge for $42. The service was good and very attentive. I just had better steaks here in Minneapolis. This place is better though than what I expected. It has an old feel with their furniture which was nice. The team also ordered several desserts and I had one bite of the chocolate flourless cake. It was very good and decadent but cannot have another bite. This is a good place for dinners around the area. read more

My wife and I had a Living Social voucher for $30 at the Woodfire Grill. I had heard their naan was fantastic, so we got an order of it. We really would have preferred a Naan without the oil and green stuff, but it was really good. My wife pulled off the bottom half of each slice because she isn't a big oil fan. It was our fault for not ordering it without stuff on top. I ordered a Steel Toe IPA, which is a local IPA, great stuff. So good. For our entrees, she ordered a Caesar salad, which she liked okay, but they grilled the lettuce for some reason. She ate it, but was not a huge fan. I had her croutons dipped in my awesome dressing. It was fantastic! The Philly cheesesteak I got was wonderful. The cheese whiz on top made the sandwhich. The sliced beef was really good and every bite was like heaven. Our waitress was super great and refilled my wife's Diet Coke 2 times. Plus 1. I ordered a second Steel Toe and it ended a wonderful lunch. The atmosphere was of a northern ski lodge, pretty cool. We went here to celebrate our anniversary. I mean who doesn't like a steak dinner? Anyway, make a reservation. This place was packed on the Saturday we went. We didn't have to wait. Just walked right up to the desk, told them our reservation and sat right down. Other people were waiting a long time and pissed about it. Don't be dumb like them and assume every restaurant in the suburbs on the weekend will be dead and then take it out on the staff. I'd even recommend making a reservation on a weeknight just in case. Our server was great. The food was yummy and we had a great time. Definitely a nice place to have a celebration. There were a few other larger groups celebrating something too while we were there. Not sure I'd bring a kid to this place. Maybe a 10+ year old, but other than that, get a sitter. Don't waste your money on fancy food for a toddler. I was a little surprised at how many people did bring their little kids to this restaurant. Tonight was our first visit. The hostess was so sweet and good to us. She made us feel special and welcome. We had to wait for a booth but it was so worth it. As we waited we noticed how old Hollywood like this place is. Sherry was our server and she was on point. The drinks and food at this place were off the chain!! I had the steak medallions and my husband had parmesan crusted fish. Never the less we had a great time and we will be back. We drove all the way from Maple Grove to this restaurant. Along with my partner's plate, also good, the scallop appetizer, a greek salad and a beet salad, plus tip, the meal came 150 bucks without cocktails. . . I'm a decent cook. Whenever I eat at a place, I compare and contrast my abilities with the dishes at the restaurant. Steaks are easy. The sides were also tasty but simple to replicate. After the meal, satisfied and driving home to a clean kitchen, I had to ask if it was worth the bill. . . I should have shopped for 150.00 worth of ingredients, but sometimes letting someone else satisfy your need for meat is worth it. One of the few things I do like about business travel is trying the great local fare. I was taken here by a partner/client my last night in town. A beautifully designed restaurant designed after a 40's jazz/dinner club. Lot's of dark wood interiors, luxurious booths, with dim lighting and vintage jazz playing in the background. We started with the roasted sea scallops, wrapped in bacon, with an apricot dipping sauce. Scallops were perfectly grilled, firm but not tough because of the moisture of the bacon. The bacon also added the right amount of saltiness while the apricot sauce added a sweet tang to contrast. I chose a perfectly broiled, wood fired, aged NY strip steak with a peppercorn crust, medium rare. In addition, I added a side of the white cheddar au gratin potatoes. To wash it all down, a couple of pints of Guinness. To finish off the meal, we split the Wildfire homemade ice cream sandwich. The only way I could have made this meal better and more decadent would have been to add lobster. I'm sure if that was an option I probably would have. The service was formal, attentive and friendly. Something you'd expect from a higher end restaurant. The ambiance definitely had me feeling transported back in time. If you're ever in the Twin Cities definitely take some time to hit one of Wildfires' locations. read more

I came here for a work dinner where we had a separate room in the back that was able to accomodate about 40 of us. They laid out a pre-set menu with our company name on it, and everything was served family style. First course - caesar's salad and spinach artichoke fondue. Side - roasted veggies and mashed potatoes. Entree - a lemon chicken dish and a tri-tip dish. Dessert - chocolate cake and a pie. Everything was really good - there was really nothing to complain about! I feared that the chicken and beef would be overcooked, but everything was incredibly tender and juicy with the right amount of seasoning. The mashed potatoes was chunky, just the way I like it. And don't get me started on the dessert... the portions were massive and the cake was so moist and decadent. The service was top notch too. Everyone was really nice, prompt, and attentive. This restaurant has a wonderful menu and delightful servers. Nice bar. Very nice atmosphere that is warm and inviting. I would recommend as I would with most restaurants that when an elderly or handicapped patron enters and the person at the desk is assigning tables PLEASE do not seat them far from the desk. Ambulation is an issue otherwise they wouldn't be carrying a cane or a walker. Just be more aware. That is also part of service. read more

Just had dinner here for Valentines Day. What a shit show. Had a reservation for 7:30. Got seated at 8. Whatever. Ordered drinks. Didn't get them until after our apps came. Oh yeah. Very private w/ great service thats attentive to detail. One guest was lactose intolerant. Our server brought out the chopped salad w/ the blue cheese and dressing on the side. I have patronized this location on a few occasions, for work, and have been impressed with the selection, and quality of the food. The food has always been prepared fresh, and flavorful. My wife and I had dinner this weekend at the EP location. We made a reservation on line and the process was very smooth. It was great to see activity in local restaurants and Wild Fire was busy but not too crowded. The host was well aware of our anniversary "date" and our waiter extended us an anniversary congratulations. Our waiter Oscar did a great job. We asked about a gluten free menu and we received a full explanation of the offerings and he presented us with gluten free bread. Dinner was excellent and Oscar was very attentive. The ONLY reason I am giving a one star is because I just noticed my receipt now when I looked at it at home. Shame on you Wildfire. Charging a $6.58 COVID-19 crisis charge. WOW! Food is excellent, service is excellent, but really? You need that $6.58? Prices went up and this too? This really disappoints me. We are regulars here, but not anymore. I get a mom and pop place doing this but a corporate company. So sad!!!!! It really isn't the money part of it, but the principle of it. We are all hurting for money right now during this crisis. Love this place. They have great steaks and an extensive wine list. I see it more as of a dress up, nice dinner kind of place. But you can definitely come casual as well. I'm not sure if they have this all the time, as it was on the specials menu, but I got the filet medallions and they were delicious. The steak was like butter, you could cut it with a knife. Walked in without a reservation for lunch and had our temperature taken at the hostess stand. We were seated safely distanced from others and our waiter was polite, giving us plenty of time to look at the menu and talk. The cornbread was AMAZING and the lunch menu was surprisingly diverse. I had the walleye sandwich, which is blackened with dill, and fries. The fries could have used salt and pepper, but with Covid, those aren't on the table. Not a huge deal. Sandwich was OK. Surprisingly, it didn't have a lot of flavor. I was disappointed since prices are on the high end for lunch. I had a glass of wine with it and without a tip, it was $38. Atmosphere was great. I ordered two Romanian skirt steaks one with red skinned mashed potatoes the other with French fries, both steaks with Parmesan crust on top(delicious, a must have). As always at some of my favorite restaurants there was the complimentary fresh cooked bread which by the way we asked for one to take home with us after the meal was over. Both steaks were well done, just a tiny tiny bit of pink but no blood so for me they were absolutely perfect, and by far the tastiest steak I've ever ate. The mashed potatoes were wonderful as expected and the French fries were incredibly addicting. Thanks for the wonderful service all around, and I'm looking forward to many more steaks in the future!!! read more

Sigh. Selected this place for happy hour specifically because I was meeting a friend and her baby for happy hour. Babies at happy hour is usually unexpected, but so is the terrible service I received while I was here. I walked in and sat down at a booth in the bar because it was open and I thought it would be the best option for the little guy. Had the host shoot me a dirty look from the host stand and she waved over a waiter, pointed at me and summoned him to go talk with me. So I learned that you must have reservations for the tables in the bar during happy hour. I didn't know that, but explained my situation (friend with baby coming) and said that for as long as I had been there, the tables were all empty so would it be okay if we sat here? No no no. No reservation, no table. I was told that our only options would be 1. sit at a high top (impossible with a baby) 2. sit at a table in the restaurant where I was vehemently told that I would have to order a full dinner (what does that mean...?) and I selected option 3. which was to leave and go elsewhere. This was after I waited in the lobby for a while for my friend and noticed that nobody ever sat at the tables there, so they could have easily been filled. SIGH. I find it ironic that Yelp is asking me below if this place is good for kids. Nope, it isn't. It's apparently not good for adults either. read more

Okay, it is in the suburbs. Next, it is attached to a mall. Lastly, it is part of a chain. Normally, my advice would be to run, not walk, away as fast as possible. But hold on... Walk inside and you feel a bit like you stepped back in time. Order the Wildfire Salad which has this awesome, tangy, dressy that works really well with the small bits of tortilla chips and chicken. Outstanding. Next, if you are a meat eater, I highly recommend the char-grilled ribeye. Simply put, the best steak I have had anywhere in the Twin Cities. LOVE the preparation. And order the fries and tell me who makes 'em better. For seafood, either get the halibut or grouper, whichever is in season. My wife gets this everytime and it is so good she can't bring herself to try anything else. The beer list is fine, wine by the glass is not bad, and the wine list is pretty good. The dessert list has some fun things. For simple but delicious, go with the old fashioned hot fudge/caramel sundae. The servers tend to be on the highly scripted but professional side of things. I gotta admit. I was a skeptic from the get go. It looks like a chain, it boasts like a chain. There are some good ones out there but Wildfire isn't one of them. We arrived on a rainy Friday for lunch, party of six. We waited a good ten minutes to get seated in an empty restaurant. atmosphere: The place isn't bad but we were seated directly under an AC vent, which enhanced just how cold we were after a dash in the summer rain. Our waiter was terrible. We asked him for recommendations. What does he say? "I can't tell you what's good but I'll tell you what's not good on the menu. don't get the pasta, the salads are pretty bad. everything else is serviceable." ... really? I understand he's not a salesman in any way but I was almost tempted to walk next door to Panera to grab a sandwich instead of spending money on a place that has "serviceable" food. Food: Against my intuitions, I ordered the "special", a macademia nut crusted halibut. This was really good at Redstone so I thought I'd give it a shot. Unfortunately, the fish wasn't to my liking. It was overcooked and mealy and not much flavor. The asparagus was also not cooked to tender as well. The only good on my plate were the fries. Gratuity: I usually don't call this out but I will this time. Wildfire includes a mandatory gratuity for tables of six and up, which I think was dumb given the level of service we got. If I need to take someone out around EP, I'm headed to Redstone instead. read more

My hubby called my on the way home and asked me if I wanted to go to Wildfire for dinner. What a nice surprise and perfect ending to a work day (or so I thought). He made a reservation in the martini lounge, one of my "favorite" spots. We had a cozy booth in the bar area and a very attentive waiter. Happy hour deals were on from 3 to 6 and they had a special half price starter menu. Nothing appealed to me but my husband ended up ordering the crab cakes. He enjoyed them. When it came time to order dinner I'm kind of stuck on their "Cobb salad". It is truly amazing and one of the best. The smaller version can easily feed up to 2 or 3 mouths so plan on sharing or order it alongside an entree. My husband was looking for something a little lighter and went with the Waldorf chicken salad. Certainly a different spin than most "Waldorf's" but tasty. I usually come here for their Macadamia crusted halibut but it's out of season right now. I'm not a fish person but this one "melts" in your mouth. Needless to say we're "frequent diners" here. We signed up a number of years ago. For those of you looking to sign think twice before you do! We came in with our frequent dinner coupon only to be told it wouldn't apply to our meal?? The fine print says "not valid with any other offers" and we didn't realize happy hour was considered an offer?? OK who's fretting over a few dollars but guess it was the manager who we found out right "rude". If you can avoid having any confrontations with the manager you'll probably have an OK experience. This is a family favorite that we've been coming to about once a year for a nice, more upscale meal and dining experience. I have never once been disappointed. It is a great place for dates or work meals, too. Like I said, whoever you choose to bring, I don't think anyone has ever left not satisfied. Yes, it may be on the higher price spectrum, but the quality of the food and service is well worth it. First, I highly recommend making a reservation regardless of the day or time (you can do so online or over the phone). It is almost always crowded. They have several different rooms, all with their own unique touch and style. I love the dim lighting, background jazz music, and neat decor. The servers have always been friendly and attentive, no matter how busy they are. Once you are seated, you will be served a small-ish serving of bread and butter; the reason I say small-ish is because it is just so dang good that you will find yourself devouring every last bite and will be so happy when the server brings you a second load immediately afterward. Also, GET A CHOPPED SALAD TO SHARE. Yes, I am just that excited that I had to put that in all caps. Do not skip the salad. The portions are generous and the server divides it out evenly for everyone. This is one of the best, most filling salads I've had, with tortilla strips, blue cheese, bacon bits, tomato, corn, and probably more things that just make it perfection. Especially if you find yourself no longer famished after the bread and salad, you can expect to take some of your entree home with you. The seafood is normally what I go with and I have never left without leftovers, but wanting to eat more just because it tastes so good. Also, if you like mashed potatoes, be sure to get those as your side option because WOW they are one of a kind. They have a tray of desserts that they show you afterward, all of which could be shared for a couple of bites each. The staff is super knowledgable and helpful. The steaks are delicious. And finally, what makes it probably the top gluten-free restaurant in town: They make their own gluten-free bread & gluten-free chocolate chip cookies! No more staring with envy at your dining partner's bread basket. They bring you your own gluten-free bread, straight from the oven. The only con? Upon discovering that our original dinner destination had closed (Outback), a quick Yelp Mobile search for steakhouses yielded Wildfire as an option. Having dined at the Wildfire in Chicago, I generally knew what to expect and so my sister and I carted ourselves over. It was very nearly the same experience I'd had at the Chicago Wildfire; the service was a little slow, the prices were fairly high, the outside of my steak was burnt (which I'm guessing is just how they do it here), the drinks were strong and pleasing and the place was COLD. We were sat in a booth under a vent and froze. Initially, I'd wondered if it was because I specifically asked the host to please not sit us near small children (one pea-hurling moppet was creating his own personal hell just inside the restaurant entrance). This booth was far enough away to somewhat lessen the audible impact of the tyke's shrieks and coos. So yeah. This place was fine. It didn't impress me at all, and I think it's too expensive for the overall atmosphere and service, for EP or Chicago. read more
