I had a great experience during dinner last night. The wait at Wild Fire was normal for a Thursday night, and we we seated at well cleaned table. Our server was knowledgeable and the Manager stopped by to see how everything was. Our steak was prepared correctly and our drinks were well made. Food was average at best! One person in our party got served a bit after everyone else. The tables and chairs are VERY CRAMPED!!! No one even asked us about dessert or brought over the tray of desserts to look at. Way to pricey for what you get. read more

We went tonight for Valentines dinner. I had reservations for weeks. We got in early, checked in and got drinks from the bar and waited for our table. I requested a booth when making the reservation and was told it would be quicker to grab a table so we took it when one opened. Once seated the waiter came by and realized we had drinks but we decided we would have have the 4 course special. We ordered the first two courses. The waiter asked if we were in a hurry and we weren't but just knew what we wanted. After that he was gone... For a long time. We wanted another round of drinks and he wouldn't return so we had to go to the bar for the drinks. We got bread, awhike linger and was the appetizer, then another 30 min and it was the salad. Right before we got the salad he said we should order our entre but then said they were out of the prime rib and augratin potatoes. How do they run out of butter, cream, cheese and potatoes? We got all of our food and it was good. My scallops had burnt garlic and breadcrumbs so it was a little bitter. I expect much better service from this place. I know they are capable of it because we have been here a lot. Maybe not do much any more. Food was good (been better other days) but the service was awful! This is the best steakhouse I've ever been to. Far better than any of the chain ones (Fleming's, Ruth's Chris, etc.). First, the atmosphere of the restaurant is awesome. It's quiet, and has a really nice feel. Our waitress was great, attentive but not annoying. We started off with the chop salad, and the salad dressing was SO GOOD we had to buy a bottle to take home with us. It was tempting to fill up completely on salad because it was so delicious. By the time our steaks came, we were stuffed on salad and rolls. Not complaining!! We both ordered the special, and got horseradish and Asiago topping for the steaks. They were delicious! I loved the three separate steaks, so that even though I was eating 3 pieces of steak, they all tasted a little bit different. The texture was perfect, perfectly cooked, and just truly delicious! We ended with some cheesecake to go, because we were too stuffed to eat it there but wanted to try something. The waitress brought out a big tray of desserts for us to choose from, and they all looked so good. I've heard incredible things about the cobbler, but because of the ice cream, we couldn't get it to go. We settled for the cheesecake, which definitely wasn't settling! It was the perfect texture, with slightly sour raspberry topping, and the best cheesecake I've ever had. read more

Why does it have to be connected to a mall? It's way too good for that!! I was expecting more of a bar/grill than a steakhouse, so I had to shift gears very quickly! Definately order a steak, and expect to pay around $20 -$30 bucks/plate. My friend got the scallops, and enjoyed them. I really was looking for a sandwich and a beer, so I got the Walleye sandwich. Should've done red meat, the walleye and fries were both so-so. The booths are the elevated, intimate kind - and are in a semi-circle fashion, so you are looking out at the rest of the diners. Basically, you are watching people watch you eat ;) Service was good. This would be the place for a special date or for business. read more

I've been there just to have an appetizer and some drinks. The appetizer that was highly recommended by the bartender - baked goat cheese with pizza bread was just gross. Cheap bread and they mixed the melted goat cheese with cheap tomato sauce. The whole thing tasted like heated up tomato ketchup. Drinks are expensive and not tasty. Will never come back. I wasn't impressed. It would have gotten three stars since food was average, but since the price inappropriate for the food quality it gets only two stars. The service was great, but it was only 4pm, so I'm not sure how they perform during rush hours. The sign outside says Wildfire Steak Chops Seafood, so when I opened the menu and see 5 seafood items, the impression didn't start out well. My wife ordered a New York Strip steak with cheesy potatoes and I had the Parmesan Crusted Cod with a loaded baked potato. I hate to start off the food review with something some might see as minor, but it was actually a twice baked potato with a small amount of cheese & bacon on top with sour cream mixed inside. Now, when I pay $3 extra to get that, I expect it to be decent. I don't like hot sour cream and they should have stated on the menu that it was a twice baked potato with sour cream inside. The cod was not even average. Plus, it was $26. Cod is a relatively cheap fish, it's not anything rare or fancy, so if you charge that much, it better be great. My wife's steak & potatoes were average. Nothing better than Outback or Fridays. Timberlodge is better steak and all three places are cheaper. Save your money and go to Fridays around the corner. read more

I have to say I'm completely disappointed. We called earlier in the day to double check if the restaurant had prime rib. Upon arrival they told us the prime rib was overcooked and unable to serve. The manager then came over to tell us they couldn't serve it and he was very unsympathetic. He said thats the way it is. He could have easily remedied the situation by offering a dinner or desert but instead let us walk out of the restaurant. Extremely disappointed in the service and I won't be back. read more

I agree with those that say OVERPRICED and POOR FOOD EXPERIENCE. Went there for 50th birthday. Had the Filet Medallions Oscar and they were warm but never arrived even close to hot. My friend's daughter had the pizza and ate very little. Has to be pretty sad to not like pizza! My friend had a filet medium and it was definitely medium rare. The other filet with horseradish was better, but come on...for these prices in a cramped booth by a mall??? Drop your prices and improve your cooking skills. I won't be back. read more

Found it!! That steakhouse with an amazing atmosphere and food that drives your tongue nuts. Wildfire is my new favorite restaurant in the Twin Cities. My wife and I have been there half a dozen times and have yet to be semi-disappointed about anything. The 50's style decor and slow jazz create an incredible atmosphere for this classy joint. We have yet to try anything but the beef, and I don't see myself venturing off anytime soon. The service staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. I encourage all of you to try the tenderloin trio medallions. Enjoy! read more

i was a bit skeptical when told we were going to eat in a restaurant in a mall but this place was mofo good. we had the ceaser and the chopped salad to start with- both good, the chopped one better. and it was chopped literally so that you dont have to deal with those mutant huge greens that are too big to deal with as served. we had a fantastic filet mignon- i think we got it charred- and if i went back again- id go for the thing where you get three cuts of filet cooked differently and with different sauces. the scallops were fantastic- though not filling- but its tough to get filled on scallops. they were divine the service is a little excessive- it wasnt packed but they kept coming to take plates away when we werent finished and trying to rush us out of there while being a tad too over enthusiastic, but not half as douchy as the guys working at that micro center something computer store in slp earlier today. i had to punish the guy working there for being an ass kissing bullshitter by not purchasing something that was clearly a good deal. anyways, expensive. but good. a place to have your parents or sugar daddy take you to. read more

8/2/2019 - I just called to inquire about the content of Beef Wellington dinner dish. The hostess seems annoyed by my inquiry .She hastily explained it to me. Before I could make my reservation, she said, "Okay Bye", and hung up on me. That was very rude of her! Extremely poor customer service coming from a high-end restaurant. Tried to call in at 6:00 PM last night for reservation for four. Put on hold for five minutes and then person answering phone said she was the wrong person to take reservations. We went for dinner on a Thursday night with my husband and another couple. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised with the ambiance, although it was super packed and the bar area was incredibly uncomfortable while we waited for a table. We were seated and our waitress was pleasant and attentive. The food, however, was not good. What a huge letdown! The scallops were the worst scallops I've ever eaten. The texture was mush -- as though they had been injected with water and frozen, then thawed and all the fibers had been destroyed. Additionally, the shape was all wrong. The scallops were super thin, I think they may have taken the scallops and sliced them in half?! They also had the weirdest seasoning -- so overseasoned, it left a film in your mouth and had the after taste of perm solution. My husbands had a steak, which was pleasant, but completely lacking seasoning and covered in copious amount of sauteed onions. A little salt would have gone a long way to flavor the steak. The side dishes were decent, although the wild rice had a bunch of extra vegetable pieces as space-fillers. Why add frozen mixed vegetables to an otherwise easy side dish?! Overall, I felt that we were charged wayyyyy to much for the quality of the food. If you want a great ambiance and great food in the southwest suburbs try any of the other upscale places around here for the same type of food, same pricing, and MUCH BETTER food. Redstone, Jimmy's Food and Cocktails, or Kona Grill will get you a LOT more for your money. read more

I'm torn between 2 stars and 3 stars. I've been here maybe a half dozen times and generally it's been good so I'm rounding up. This review is for tonight's visit specifically. This was a business dinner for 3 on a Thursday night. Started off by being told it would be a 40 to 50 minute wait. After waiting the full 50 minutes went to check with the hostess politely to see how much longer. In a rather snotty manner she told us 20 more minutes, as if we were being held that long. She wasn't kidding, it was a total wait of 70 minutes. So anyway, we get seated and after an inordinately long time the waiter took our orders. He was clearly spread too thin. Two of us ordered salads and we all ordered steaks. This is where things sped up. 10 minutes later, guess what came out, our steaks. No signs of any salads. Not only that, but my steak wasn't even the steak I ordered. I specifically asked for the filet oscar and I got the filet nugget oscar trio. Similar but certainly not the same. The waiter was very apologetic and did offer to 1) take all our steaks back and hold them while he brought out our salads and 2) to redo my steak. We didn't want to wait any longer and certainly didn't want our steaks hanging out under a heat lamp so we declined the salads and I settled for the trio. He then said, well to make it up to you, I'll buy you dessert. We were expecting that at the appropriate time he'd bring out a dessert menu and let us pick desserts. But noooooo, at the end of the meal, he shows up with a sampler platter with itty bitty versions of 3 items and tells us he brought us the "best dessert on the menu". It was a big dissappointment and IMO their standard move, to bring out the little sampler dessert rather than 3 actual desserts that we might have picked. One of the 3 was a peanut butter something or other none of us wanted. I think this could have been handled better. They cheaped out. Was it tasty, certainly. No complaints about the quality of the food per se. I do think they have a few too many tables crammed in but I guess business is booming. I am always amazed that we are supposed to be in a recession yet every restaurant I go to seems packed but I digress..... At the end of the day, I'd have to rank Jimmy's above Wildfire and Wildfire above Redstone as for as EP fine dining. read more

By just a hair I prefer Capital Grille, but Wildfire is really darn good! Consistent steaks and superb service. Pete is a fantastic bartender and you can eat at the bar and enjoy it just fine. They also don't rob you blind on wine. Scott and Liam at the bar are also tops. read more

The food was really over priced for the quality, which was barely average-level good. My family ordered a French onion soup, a chicken sandwich, a double stacked burger with bearnaise substituted for the thousand island, a French dip sandwich, and an Angus burger. Our server was really nice, but we wouldn't see her for long periods of time and she was slow to help us. When we finally got our food, both the burgers were cooked improperly. The French dip sandwich (which the waitress had claimed was incredible) was incredibly bland. Even the flight of beer we got (the only one available) had only one beer that would be fairly good. The seats we were given were too small; we had a curved booth which wasn't large enough for 4 people. The venue seemed like it was trying to be classy and homey, but there were too many tables stuffed together, so it was just crowded and noisy. Overall it wasn't a great experience. read more

We have frequented Wildfire since it first opened in Eden Prairie and have never regretted a dining experience. Our last visit was in mid-January for an 18th birthday celebration. The chopped salad was very good, as always. The three medallions were once again a favorite, especially the horseradish encrusted and peppercorn varieties. A surprise was the beef Wellington! Very nice overall. Service was very good. The tables are a bit tightly packed in the main diining room, but we were not there for a secluded, romantic evening. Probably the best steak house in Eden Prairie for the price. read more

After a long morning of setting up my DVR (um...DVR's are really difficult to figure out my friends!), I needed an easy place to grab a salad and cool off. Wildfire seemed like a sure-fire hit. I sauntered in around 1pm and ordered up a shrimp cocktail and chop salad to share with my dining partner. The waitress seemed a little perturbed that we were sharing two dishes totalling $21.00, but hey-that is what we wanted! The shrimp cocktail was really great-the cocktail sauce was fresh and light, not too sweet, and the shrimp were nice and firm. Yum. The chop salad came out on a platter and wasbeasily enough for two entree sized servings. The salad was stock-full of avocados, tomatoes, and loads of yummy chopped up veggies. A really nice and refreshing lunch on a hot summer day. read more

This is definitely an awesome place! We went here with a bigger group and they accommodated us very well. We did the group menu in which you get to pick two appetizers, two entrees, and two desserts. Also, you get to refill those anytime you want more, which is wonderful because our whole group got to eat till they are full. Their steaks are one of the best I had and very freshly made. Also their redskin mash potatoes are so delicious. This is definitely a more dress up place, but I've seen people wear casual clothes in here too. Overall, it's a great experience. read more

I'm actually kind of excited to officially write my first ever restaurant review! My beautiful wife and I wanted to get some food in Eden Prairie because we were going to see a movie at the AMC. I wanted to go to either Crave or Kona, but my wife threw a curve ball and suggested we enjoy a nice steak dinner at Wildfire. Knowing what I know now, I don't think she really loves me, based on her recommendation to go there.. Let's get the two positive experiences out of the way first! One, our server Jeff was so dang nice I might try to friend him on Facebook. He was relentlessly kind and polite. Second, our chocolate cake actually made me tear up a little. That's more than likely because of how little I expected any item on the menu to taste, but non the less I really did like it. Maybe the scariest part of our experience was when I inquired about the Manhattan cut, wondering if it was any different than a New York strip. Jeff's response made it loud and clear that the cooks are subpar at best, "the manhattan cut is like a New York strip, but much thicker. The only problem is that since it's so thick, we still haven't quite figured out how to cook it to the requested temp." I'm still kicking myself for not taking that gentle hint and for not ordering a flatbread. Okay, so here it goes: I ordered a Manhattan cut with a horseradish crust, medium temp and my wife got the petite filet. I just want to apologize to anyone reading this because I really should've taken a picture of my wife's filet. It was hilarious. Not sure if someone took a hacksaw to it in the kitchen but it was almost butterflied open with sauce on top with a drenched piece of bread underneath. It looked like a dirty nappy at best. She laughed it off, pushed aside the decomposed bread and took a few bites. She was struggling to swallow it. I then took a bite.. I regret that. It was a lower caliber steak than the frozen no name steak my mom made for me throughout my childhood. the only thing that was lower caliber than her steak was when we told our server and he sent over the General Manager. Poor guy didn't have a talkative bone in his body. It was odd. On a last ditch effort to salvage our botched experience, he quickly told us he'd take the filet off of our bill. My steak also never had the horseradish crust, so they then proceeded to buy us a dessert. I myself am a restaurant manager. I've actually worked as a sever, bartender and cook. I love the industry. This was just too funny of an experience to not write about. I really hope this restaurant improves. Also, Jeff is awesome. I will probably come back to have a flatbread and a glass of wine in his section! read more

Supper club feel. Make a reservation to avoid the wait. Service is good but food is just really ok. I had the bone in filet, and it was just a hunk of meat that wasn't cooked evenly throughout, some spots were medium as I ordered and others were well done. Service was only fair, with no willingness to adjust to our needs. Very noisy environment- impossible to hold a conversation across the table. Also, the booth we were in was cramped. I went here for a wedding rehearsal dinner, and the place was GREAT! We ate group style, every table got about 8 big dishes to share. Steakhouse setting, but not as dark and dreary as I'm used to with steakhouses. I have yet to eat at the restaurant but the place is wonderful for a big party and they are overly generous with the food---your guests will never leave hungry. read more

Wildfire does have decent food (the chopped salad is enormous and very tasty), but I find the atmosphere unpleasant. The tables are very close together, making the restaurant remarkably loud. The lighting is so dim that it is difficult to read the menus. That said, for the area it is a solid choice for moderately upscale dining. read more

This is our (my hubby and I) go-to place when we want something nicer than Outback and cheaper than say, Manny's. Every single time I go there I get the filet trio (bleu cheese, horseradish, and Béarnaise crusted). We took our 87+ old mother here for lunch.@12:30 on black Friday and got right in. They had the steak burger w/fries and slaw. Burger was tasty and fries done well.I had the am.spinich and bacon salad that was tasteless and had too much bacon/but mixture and didn't arrive before the meal as requested. They didn't charge me for it so that was appreciated. The penne pasta with roasted vegetables was hot, plentiful and flavorful-too much really for one person.we did appreciate the Waiter listening to us and bringing the burger/fries/slaw already split on 2 plates. I made the mistake of ordering one of the chef's specials, parmesan crusted cod. What a greasy oily mess. My business associate ordered one of their signature specials, scallops and a fillet. The scallops were over cooked and greasy and his steak was served rare when he ordered it medium. For a place that is supposed to be a "chop" house, somebody needs to go to Chicago, Kansas City or Omaha to see what a real chop house is. I will not be back with any clients. read more

Always an amazing, consistent dinner. Just moved back from California and it was my first dinner back in Minnesota. Never disappoints.
