This restaurant is nice. Something of a high-end feel to it. I really enjoyed the decor and space; it harkened to an early 20th century space in New York. We sat in the bar area and the booths were really comfortable. While the menu is incredibly underwhelming and limited (as it was lunch time) the food was really good. I ordered a Caesar salad and their charbroiled burger. The salad was a salad. The burger, however, was very good. Perfectly cooked and prepared very nicely. The bun tasted freshly baked and that added a lot to the flavor of the burger. The service was mediocre at best. Our server lacked a personality and was very mechanic. She was very attentive but not very personable. I gave three stars principally because of the limited menu options, value and the service. Between the salad, burger and two cocktails we spent $50. We visited here while traveling for work. My friend and I each got the filet mignon - it was delicious and cooked to perfection. The drink selection was reasonable and the ambience was dark and cozy. We got the shrimp cocktail as an appetizer and another appetizer that was on special. Waiter was very responsive and suggested the special. I ended up visiting Wildfire twice on my four day visit to Minnesota. We chose Wildfire on the first visit because it was adjacent to the Cinema. My companion and I both ordered a flight of wine, red for me, white for her. After we placed our order and our server (who was pleasant and personable) walked away, we noticed that they also had a martini flight, hence the second visit! Accompanying our wine flight was a pepperoni pizza. Wildfire is a steakhouse, and doesn't pretend to be anything it's not. That said I was pleasantly surprised by the pizza. It was a smaller, thin crust pizza with no red sauce, and the perfect size for two if you need a bite on the go. The wine flights are pretty standard fare but exactly what we expected. On our second visit we had a different server who wasn't as attentive as the first, even though he only appeared to be waiting on one, maybe two other table (one with a single patron). We ordered the intended Martinis, a flight for her, a Gin Gimlet for me. I know I'm always rolling the dice when I order a gin gimlet because it's more of a traditional vs modern cocktail, but when you inform someone it's gin, simple syrup and fresh lime, they still get it wrong 75% of the time. I made sure to ask if they had simple syrup instead of lime juice ahead of time and was assured that they did. Even so, it came (per usual) with lime juice. The dead giveaway is when the martini is clear instead of Cloudy. Lime juice is usually clear, traditional simple syrup is not. You shouldn't be able to see through your beverage clearly (like a glass of water)! My companion seemed satisfied with her Martini flight. On this visit no one was overly hungry so we ordered another small pizza. Mushroom this time. Surprisingly the mushroom pizza was just as tasty as the pepperoni from a few nights prior. Oh! I almost forgot the bread! I'm generally not a huge fan of the bread that's brought to your table prior to a meal, but the bread at Wildfire was so delicious we requested a second loaf. Due to the great service, atmosphere, and fare on the first visit, but the sub-par second visit, I'd prefer to give Wildfire three and a half stars. However, being that this is a steakhouse and I didn't try any of their fine cuts of beef, I think a four would be more appropriate based upon my companions prior experiences and input. read more

This was our first time here tonight and we will not be going back. The prices are not worth the experience and the food. They are way over priced for the service you get! Our server forgot to stop back a few times and they lost out on drinks. The Bloody Mary was overpriced and not good at all. The bread is just kinda OK. They don't have the Minnesota beer of choice which is Michelob Golden light or Ultra. They forgot my shrimp and never even offered to take it off my bill when I finally got it over half way through our meal. The server forgot other items as well. We treated our family to Wildfire in Eden Prairie for our 50th wedding anniversary, 9 people in total. Great food and good service. Problem was our adult son wanted something from the "kids" menu. The server was insistent that you had to be 12 or under to order from that menu. She said management was a stickler on this point. Our son didn't understand the problem. He didn't want anything on the regular menu. After some uncomfortable discussion, she said said she would check with the manager.  They have a pretty good menu but it doesn't serve everyone. Imagine bringing your grandparents there, and they can't order something simple, or with smaller portions. (They don't have a senior menu.) Shouldn't they allow anyone to order from the kids menu? It doesn't hurt anyone. Or does it? Apparently it's a matter of the short term bottom line. Here's how they handled it. They gave my son the dish he wanted from the kids menu, but charged for a regular adult entree. Really Wildfire! I just spent $300 on lunch. Don't be penny wise and nickel foolish. You can call this a compromise, but it only benefited them. I gave them a fair rating because they do have good food and service, but needless to say, I won't be back. Partly because they charged me $7 over the menu price, but mostly because they have a policy that is biased against seniors and the disabled. read more

I heard about Wildfire through Opentable's Restaurant Week and I'm really glad to have taken advantage of the opportunity. The ambience was masculine, but very cozy in an old Hollywood, leather chairs, steak knives in your bread kind of way. The service was attentive and well-timed. The set menu included: Salad: House or Caesar Main Course: 1/2 Chicken with Mashed Potatoes, NY Hanger steak with peppercorn sauce and mashed potatoes, or Dill Crusted Walleye with another vegetable that I've forgotten Dessert: Chocolate Cream Pie, Key Lime Pie or Cheesecake The bread that came first was really delicious, but it's starch so I can't really say anything bad about it. In addition to the set menu we ordered calamari which was delicious and tender, more calamari than breading which is always a plus in my book. What was actually ordered. Me: House Salad with Balsamic Vinaigrette- Very hearty for a starter salad 1/2 Chicken and Mashed Poatoes- A little underwhelming, I guess that's what I get for getting chicken at a steak house Key Lime Pie- Tart, refreshing, and more mini pie than small slice Boyfriend ordered: House Salad with Red Wine Garlic Vinaigrette NY Hanger Steak with peppercorn sauce- This made me regret my chicken, it was totally awesome. When in Minneapolis I frequently end up in Eden Prairie, and Wildfire has been a most unexpected but pleasant find. Before I go much farther I have to say one thing: If they happen to have Halibut available TRY IT! Oh, wow. I could rate this place a full 5 stars on the halibut alone. But then I would overlook the mushroom crusted pork chops, or the chipotle chicken sausage pizza which I've also fallen hard for. While I've ate inside and enjoyed the experience, their food also stands out when ordered as carry-out and taken back to a hotel room. I've never had a bad experience here and my most recent visit was just another example of great food, attentive service, and my favorite, service with a smile. It's not cheap, but this place is worth a cab ride from MSP just to eat here. read more

We went to wildfire this past weekend and overall I didn't think it was worth the price tag. The food was good; steak trio and calamari for my wife and I, ribs for the kids. But with a bill at $180 I though the food should be great... not just good. The calamari app was somewhat small and the steak was just ok. I could have made it at home though. Our server was very attentive and nice. The Surly on tap was good too. In my opinion it was a middle of the road experience with a top dollar price tag. read more

I have eaten here many times before so I thought I knew what to expect. How disappointing! I had given them 5 stars in previous reviews, but this time, it was just too many little things that added up to a bad experience. First they put us in a crowded room at a table that was right in the path of every waiter. My wife and I were constantly being bumped into as we ate. Next was the fact that the twice baked potato that is usually delicious was overdone and dry. We both ordered the filet mignon with parmesan crust which we have had in the past. This time the parmesan crust had very little taste and was not at all the way I remembered it from just 6 months ago. I ordered mine medium well, and what I got was part medium rare and part well done. Plus it wasn't the greatest cut of meat I've ever had there. As my wife is finishing her meal, the waitress comes by and asks if she can box it up for my wife! My wife tells her she is still eating! Finally, after my wife had had enough of being bumped into, she moved to another chair at the table. The waitress saw that she had moved and instead of asking if anything is wrong, just gets our bill. I know that this might seem trivial to some, but when you're paying $100 plus for dinner, you expect a little better. We had a fabulous meal . Great atmosphere. The food was amazing, melted goat cheese appetizer... Out of this world. We ordered chicken, seafood and steak and everyone LOVED their meal. Portions were on the large size, but for us that just meant extra food for tomorrow. One of us has food allergies and the general manger personally stepped in to make sure her food was safe (and it was delicious too). Kids meals included salmon or steak as choices (with other more traditional options also available). The desert trio was perfect- shared between 6. The servers were warm, kind and prompt. The food was good, but the service was bafflingly bad. We had a big group so they had to split the reservation into two tables, which was fine, but we were also assigned two separate servers who would not communicate with each other. When we got our order in everything was fine we finished our meal. We asked for boxes for our leftovers and they said they would box them for us. Which was fine except that the server piled dirty plates and the food we wanted to take home on top of each other. When I suggested he wait and either bring us the boxes or take the dirty plates back to the kitchen and do the food we wanted to keep in the next round, he continued to pile the last dirty plate on top of my leftovers. Then dessert came, they brought the birthday girl cake and then 15 minutes later (after her cake was gone) brought out dessert trays out for the rest of the table to order. We order a few desserts and waited. And waited. And waited. It seemed our servers had given up on serving us. Finally, it arrived and then splitting the bill was a bungle. Normally, I wouldn't be upset about this level of service. No one was rude. Everyone appeared to be trying (until they disappeared between dessert courses), but when you pay $40/plate I expect the service to match. TGI Fridays might not need to train their servers on basic protocol, but a "swanky" (their word not mine) steakhouse should do better. read more

Atmosphere. Great. Feels like an old-school steak-house, with a warm, mellow charm. A great place for happy hour with girlfriends - ask for one of the c-shaped banquet booths if you're in a party of 4 or under. Great atmosphere for anything from a romantic date to a business meeting. Wait Staff. Professional, friendly and warm. Our server was attentive, welcomed us with a plate of warm cornbread and was knowledgable and helpful with suggestions. Food. I had the chopped salad, which I've had in the past. It was still great. Others in my party had the coconut shrimp, crab bisque and melt sandwiches and all enjoyed their lunches entirely. Price. Fantastic value for money - all of our lunches were at or around $12. Location. Perfect place to lunch or dinner, whether shopping at Eden Prairie Center, seeing a movie, meeting business associates / clients or just having drinks with the girls. I would frequent Wildfire if I didn't live in Lakeville, but whenever I'm in the area, I'll be dropping in for lunch, dinner or drinks at Wildfire. read more

Normally they are excellent in everyway, but this time we were pickup up takeout. The bags they use are so cheap that it ripped when I went to pick it up out of the car. Food went everywhere. Not a pleasant experience. Use better bags or double bag. read more

We have been going to Wildfire for many years and the atmosphere and food are both excellent. Unfortunately the happy hour pizza has went down hill. We have tried 2 different ones in the last week and both were almost un edible. They used to have a pastry like crust and great cheese that was out of this world and now its like cardboard with goat cheese.We hope they bring the original ones back. What the hell happened? My date and I arrived on a Friday night and sat at the bar while we waited for our table. We had a martini flight and it was great, especially the Stormy Night. We were called earlier than quoted which was nice. Our server was super sales-y with kind of dumb one liners but we didn't think too much of it. I had promised my date that Wildfire's walleye was always good and because we have such a hard time finding good walleye he was excited to try it. We asked our server what he recommended and he was going batshit over the ribeye. We decided to go with his recommendation with a horseradish crust and the walleye. He pushed the mashed potatoes ("I'm a mama's boy and you gotta have the mashed potatoes!") but my boyfriend hates them so we chose another side. For the other dish the waiter was like, DEAD SET that we needed those mashed potatoes but I chose Au Gratins which clearly ruined his whole night. He snapped his book shut, snatched the menus and was gone. Here's where it went to hell. Our food arrived and my walleye looked great. I took a bite and it tasted like nothing. Light, flaky nothing. I dipped the fish in the lemon buerre blanc and it was better but only if drenched in it. My boyfriend started in on the steak and I noticed he was really carving. He cut me a piece and I took a bite of pure fat. I asked if that was how his dinner was going and he said yes. It also had these weird white "cakes" on top of the steak and that was the horseradish crust. It just looked like little potato patties on the steak. Weird. Our server was pissy about our rejection of his mashed potatoes and stopped by once but mostly steered clear of us. Finally, we picked at our food, neither of us wanting to admit it blew and we'd wasted a rare night out. I'm sad. I used to love Wildfire. read more

Same ambience as Maggiano's. Excellent, high quality food with a Bogart kind of atmosphere. Good for wine drinkers. My favorite things here are the Creamed Spinach, the Calamari, and the Skirt Steak. The special planned event dinners are a treat where a chef will try out new dishes or expose you to different pairings of food with drink. Most of them are worth the price. read more

Had the halibut and it was outstanding. We did go later at night and some of the specials were out but the menu offered enough to pick from. We started with the lobster artichoke bake for an appetizer. Amazing! Then tried the soup of the day. So good. Very unique. Then had dinner. Halibut for me and the trio for my date. Pushy wait staff touting before dinner munches, we did order a few. The calamari was greasy but plentiful. The artichoke/spinach was ok but not exceptional. My medium rare crusted rib eye steak (allegedly a house specialty) was well done. When I presented a grey dry cross section to our seasoned waiter and asked if it was medium well, he said the kitchen was slow and it would take a while to correct. In other words, suck it up, enjoy your poorly prepared $35 steak. A late arrival at our party got a perfectly prepared steak on 5 minutes notice. Guess i didn't rate. My table noticed the my dinner slight and blew off the waiter when he asked if we wanted dessert/coffee. Shame, there were 11 in our party. We'll go to Lord Fletcher's from now on.
