It was our first visit. Started out rough. We were sat in a table and no one came by for 10 minutes, We were ready to walk out, when our server finally made it to our table.Things improved a little at that point. The food was decent. Not fantastic for the pricing. I was super excited that there was a higher caliber steak house open in Morgan Hill, unfortunately I wouldn't label it high caliber any longer. It was average at best. I can see where people out here think its amazing, compared to the rest of the local dining establishments....... its new and shiny. Be prepared to dish out about $70 a person more if you drink. Went out with my friends and the service was a little slow but that didn't bother me. I ordered a risotto which didn't have much flavor at all and the worst part was there were grapes in my risotto. It was far too strange for my liking. The rice was a little over cooked too. so over all I would say bland meal with weird choices of putting grapes in my risotto. read more

It's seemed like they were apprehensive/timid about engaging their customers. We came here as a family for my birthday. The Brie appetizer was amazing. The boys both got burgers. Again amazing...I got the swordfish...yum. My daughter got the ribs. Terrific! My hubby got the stroganoff type pasta (can't remember the name) wonderful. Now the deserts. Key lime and the chocolate mousse...to die for. My husband and I had a 7:30 reservation on a Thursday. We weren't seated until 7:45 p.m. At 8 p.m. we hadn't received water or place settings. The restaurant seemed considerably understaffed. A second waiter finally came over and brought us water and took our drink order. Once we finally ordered and received our food, nearly an hour after we arrived, it was cooked perfectly. Our appetizer (the poke) and entrees (scallops & swordfish) were delicious. The restaurant has a nice ambiance​, but the indoors was very loud. It's unlikely we'll return. Love the jalapeño cornbread. Ribs are great too. I've been to their Campbell location so I'm glad they have a Morgan hill location too. Outdoor seating looks really nice. Nothing on the dessert menu caught our eye so we skipped dessert. But the service and food were both fantastic. read more

Second visit to this restaurant. The first time we were blown out of the water with their poblano cornbread and filet mignon. Tonight the cornbread was so overloaded with honey that it was drenched and over powered the Poblano corn flavor. Was so disappointed. Our sirloin was excellent but a guest with us had the ribs and they were so salty, you couldn't eat them.... our dogs loved them. Wine 75 Cabernet is awesome and the desserts were great. Great service but we asked waiter to tell the chef about the ribs. The chef agreed they were too salty but they never offered to take the ribs off the bill. Overall great atmosphere and service but the kitchen needs to be consistent. We will be back for another try! read more

This is only a review of service as we never got served. Worst customer service ever. Table was one foot away froM other guests on both sides of us. Balsamic or something like it was spilled on the table, the seat and the menu. Server was asked to clean it but disappeared and after ten minutes I decided to ask for a less claustrophobic table. After much waiting we were told there was no other table so we walked out. There were empty tables and seats at the bar that were not offered to us. This with a reservation. The coconut shrimp appetizer was almost a meal by itself. The risotto was excellent as was the short rib in horseradish potatoes. Great place for a date or a special evening. We went mid-week, figuring it would be slower than normal. However, the place was packed! Reservations are an excellent idea! It may be Morgan Hill, but WH is drawing a crowd. Our only complaint, and it is a small one, is the service was slow. Attentive, but slow. Yes, the place was packed, but we felt a little ignored at first. Ordered takeout, of course, first time ordering a steak! This meal was fantastic. We ordered the Poke, OMG SO GOOD!!!, Caesar Salad to split, tasted divine, loved the whole garlic pods, dressing spot on. Two filets done to RARE perfection, delicious, and large! Leftovers! Sauces, I had horseradish aioli and husband had teriyaki glaze, absolutely loved both. Sides were fully loaded baked potato, my husband could only eat half of it, leftovers!!!, and the grilled corn, 3 1/2 pieces of cob so leftover! Definitely recommend this place, food was the best I've had in a long time. Next time my husband wants the swordfish!!! read more

I feel like the idiot for giving this place so many different tries. My husband and I have been to this restaurant 4 times now and every single time was terrible. However last night was the last straw. Only once were we ever served anything . That's how incompetent their servers are. My husband and I walked up to the outdoor bar and talked with the nice bartender about where we can sit and what not. He took our drink order and he told us to go ahead and take a seat and he would bring us our two drinks. Well my husband and I sat there for over a half hour waiting for those two drinks. We finally got up and left. No one ever came to our table to give us menus nothing. When he assured us someone would be. This very thing happened to us last time we tried them for a date night. We sat down inside the bar and no one helped us for over 40 minutes. Mind you! They were not busy at all. We left last night basically laughing at our dumb decision to give them another try. Lol! Never again. There are too many great restaurants in this town to give them any more chances. Sorry but not sorry! They can keep they're overpriced drinks and food. It's a shame bc we were so excited when we heard Willard Hicks was coming into town as we love WH and thought it was a great addition to downtown. No! We visited Willard Hicks yesterdaynight and had Nick as our server. We paid 111.00 for 4 drinks, the sticky chicken, and the blackberry filet. The food: We skipped the starters as we were both excited for our meals, but instantly regretted it when my little cube of meat came out. The blackberry filet was indeed delicious, but I guess I just expected more from a $40 plate. The sticky chicken was mediocre. Nothing special about it besides the "fancy" swirls of sauce they put on it. It was good, but for what you're paying, you would have been better off strolling to Panda Express since their chicken tastes the same. If you're going to order a filet or the chicken, be sure to order a side so you don't leave hungry. The atmosphere was nice. They dim the lights as it gets darker outside, leaving the inside glowing with candles at every table. As stated in another review, the flies were annoying, but what do you expect from a restaurant that keeps it's windows open? Either way, our night was relaxing. The ambient upbeat music by the DJ definitely added to the vibe of the restaurant as well. The employees don't look miserable and are more than happy to help you with whatever you need. Nick was great. He was attentive, respectful, and he frequently checked up on us in case we needed anything else. This is a review for dinner on a Sunday evening. We had reservations but had to wait about 10 minutes because our table was dirty. For starters we ordered the Poblano Cornbread and the House Cut Fries. The cornbread had a metallic taste and I didn't finish it. My wife liked the fries (they are quite large). Our entrees were New York Steak for me and the Kurobuta Pork Chop for my wife. Her pork chop came with Brussels Sprouts and Mashed Potatoes, a bargain at $26. I ordered the baked potato with the steak. The pork chop was liked by my wife but my steak and potato were way under-seasoned and almost tasteless. There was a very long wait between starter and entree. Server was okay. Ambiance is not quite up to the prices and it is a little noisy. The service and the food are very good. However, the front desk staff has yet to figure out that this is Morgan Hill and we value the personal touch. My husband and I made a reservation for two and were put in the small table which back to the DJ station. When I requested something in the back, I was told that was only for tables of 3 or 4, when in fact two gentlemen where seated and there were two tables empty. I will continue to take my business to Ladera or any of the other locals who value knowing and taking care of the locals until WH figures out we are not Silicon Valley, we are Morgan Hill. read more

Cute little place to have dinner. Food and drinks were great! Service however.... yikes! Our server Neil completely disregarded us, didn't introduce himself and just stood there until I awkwardly broke the silence with my order to drink. I was only able to get his name when he greeted the guests next to us. After our drinks and appetizer arrived, it took a while for Neil to check on us and get our order. Finally after he got to us he just asked "So uuum are we going to order food or just stay with drinks?" Willard Hicks might want to brush up on inclusivity training and maybe train their staff to not judge based on appearances. You guys are smart enough to put 1+1. You're acting pretty racist or classist. Yes, I am brown and young but you're not paying my bill. Have respect for ALL customers. Why were other guests not treated like that? I'd be more than glad to further discuss this incident with whom it may concern. My husband and I arrived for our reservation but a table was not ready. We were seated 20 minutes after our reservation time. We placed order for appetizer and our meal at the same time. Appetizer came (tacos, 2 shrimp, 1 tuna) and were delicious. We waited, and waited.....and waited for our meals to come out. It took over an hour from when we placed our order. I will say that our server was super attentive and knew that we were waiting. She kept coming back to let us know she was checking on our order. My husband ordered the steak burger and I ordered the sticky chicken. Both were really good. I am hoping the seating wait time and the wait time for the meals to come out were just a new opening learning curve. I had dinner Monday, July 16th at Willard Hicks Morgan Hill with a friend. We arrived at 4:30 and were seated right away. Jordan our waiter greeted us immediately. He was a breath of fresh air, professional and very experience. I will personally ask for him the next time I eat there. We had the Brie appetizer which was delicious. Just had dinner there with a group of six. Everyone got their dish and mine was 25 min late. And I ordered Scallops which takes the least amount of time to order. Apparently they are not used to making anything other than steak. For a highend restaurant you'd expect they get their act together for the price they charge. I would expect that from a Cilli's but not from a Willard Hicks. Disappointed!!! Cornbread wasn't as it was describe. Have no ideas wth was that. The Old Fashion didn't have the orange and lemon peel as described. Instead it had some fufu cherry, wtf!!! The waiter just shrugged it off. I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

Went to WH last night with my husband and 2 sister-in-laws. We made reservations on Open Table and requested a booth for the four of us. When we arrived we confirmed that we had requested a booth and the hostess was very short and cut me off saying they save the booths for larger parties that might come in disregarding our request. The restaurant was not even half full with all but one of the booths empty throughout most of our meal. The booths are not made for larger parties as they finally put a party of six in one of the booths and the poor people were smashed in arm to arm. They could barely cut their steaks. Food was mediocre, sister-in-law ordered coffee three times before she finally got one cup that was somewhat hot. Ordered the Steak Burger and was given only 4 French fries!! Cocktails with no finesse whatsoever.!! Would have given only one star but our waitress was pleasant, although obviously management had her spread pretty thin with not enough help. Campbell WH so much better! We have given this location a few chances and although a lovely decor, it seems to be deteriorating more and more. We will not return. read more

We left and went to have an appetizer elsewhere and came back to be told they would not be able to accommodate us as they had too many reservations an hour before they closed. This is the second time we have had unsatisfactory service with them as well as Tac-oh. Your food is good but not that great and your excuse was not even genuine. We've enjoyed the WH in Campbell so was hoping this place was up to par. The ambiance and food were decent but the customer service and dismissive hostess left a poor taste. We had reservations for four adults and one child. We asked if we can be seated at a booth or table towards the back wall since we'd need a high chair and it's the largest area. We were told that that area is for 6 or more people only despite there being several open table and booths that could only hold four patrons? We were seated at a middle table in between a table and a booth in front of the DJ area. Our son was seated right smack dab in the center of an aisle back to back with another patron and within the only walkway to our side. We had asked to be moved before ordering as the high chair was blocking half the aisle and made it difficult for anyone to walk through, including the waiter. He went to ask and returned stating that he "couldn't move us as he didn't want to mess with the hostess' territory because that's their thing". Really? The staff was weaving around the high chair holding hot plates and drinks above our son's head and behind him throughout the night. There was ample seating in the larger area that just made more sense for everyone. And several parties of less than six, with older kids, were seated after us so we just don't understand why they couldn't accommodate in the first place. If all the tables were reserved, that would have been fine but there was no other reason given aside from not having enough people in our group. Needless to say, having to worry about the foot traffic/dishes above and behind our son all night left for a less than stellar dining experience. I'm pretty sure blocking the aisle/walk way with no clear path is a fire hazard in which most restaurants would try to avoid? It doesn't necessarily matter but we spent nearly $500+ on dinner and drinks that evening. Suffice it to say, we'd rather spend that much elsewhere considering the lack of common sense, courtesy and customer service. read more

I walked in with a party of four around 8 o'clock and got seated fairly quickly but didn't get greeted by the server almost 25min later.
