Our waiter hung around talking with other employees the majority of our visit and I noticed the manager started coming to our table more to check on us. We waited about 25 minutes just to be greeted and get water only to find out our waiter was the person in front of us hanging around talking with other employees the whole time. The restaurant is nice, I love the area, I came here for whatever was gluten free,but also what the "favorites" were meaning the pork schnitzel and roasted 1/2 chicken. I had the half roast chicken and yes, its great.It 100% is worth the visit as the same with the pork schnitzel. They both were perfectly cooked. The fried oysters are cooked in a dedicated fryer for seafood and its gluten free per the manager and waiter. I really liked the fried oysters, I didn't care for the aioli and would have loved like a tarter sauce toe honest. Their other selections are interesting and I am a picky eater so this part should be taken lightly, I just wanted a regular dressing option for my salad. I tried 2 dressings (both gluten free, but I did not like either and they did not have anything like ranch or vinaigrette etc). I had one drink and it went and gone and our waiter never asked me if I wanted another so it left no immediate impact on me, but it was the drink that. had the house brewed seltzer water that was supposed to be really great. We had another side, potatoes which to me were gummy and textured, but interesting. My husband loved them and he loved everything to be clear. We thought the prices were fair, loved the decor & ambiance, loved the chicken and everything else including the salads, and was glad the manager stepped in to assist that day. I would recommend and I would return. I have Celiacs and am highly reactive to gluten and had 0 issues with anything they told me was gluten free. It's funny, I went here originally to go to Willa's Provisions which is the coffee shop in front. But I ended up noticing the restaurant and we decided to eat there instead.IT WAS WELL WORTH IT! Me and my sister came to Fellowship after church and everything was lovely here. The decor is gorgeous very modern with a touch of a retro feel. A lot of spots in and around the building are insta-worthy Me and my sister had the macaroni au gratin and the rotisserie chicken and they were both banging We got the roasted mushrooms too but those something to share with three or more people. We couldn't eat more than a couple of mushrooms before we were tired of them. Also the service was great too Max was our server and he was super attentive, knowledgeable about the menu and very efficient. We didn't have to wait long to get help. Walked in with a group of 6 girls on a Sunday for brunch and got sat right away. A few of the girls ordered the small bloody Mary's and it came with a full shrimp and they said it was delicious. I got the Caesar salad with chicken paillard. The breaded homemade croutons with crunchy and delicious and homemade dressing was a perfect match. The restaurant was laid out beautifully and it was bright and comfortable. As other reviewers have mentioned, every staff member we came in contact with was kind and sweet. Our server was Matt and he was amazing, and I told him that. For appetizers we ordered: Focaccia - It was delicious! Prosciutto Di Parma - Delicious, as well. Whipped Ricotta Toast - whipped ricotta, honey, hazelnuts on sourdough toast. My favorite!! I could've eaten a tray of them by myself! Beef Tartare - I don't eat this but my kids loved it and said it was amazing! I have to admit it looked very good. For dinner I ordered the Pork Schnitzel, it was served with a nice portion of dressed greens. I've been to German restaurants and this was by far the tastiest pork schnitzel I've ever eaten. Willa's is the 2nd restaurant located in the heart of North Hyde Park directly across from Rome + Fig. And although the restaurants are drastically different, it holds its own. Willa's is a scratch kitchen and overall it's just good eating. We tried nearly everything on the menu...well about 60% of it, which is just plain greedy but the menu concept really makes it easy. And there are plenty of options for vegetarians and carnivores. We had the oysters, prosciutto, pull apart bread, house salad with the green goddess vinaigrette, shrimp cocktail, braised greens, Mac & cheese, potatoes, broccolini, salmon, and chicken. We also ordered the pickles and mushrooms but unfortunately they never showed up. Food is priced great for location but avocado toast was alright I could make the exact same at home and mac and cheese was fine I added bacon didn't add much to the flavor unfortunately though. Willa's was a decent brunch option in a great part of Tampa! The menu had a lot of items that branched off from the norm, and we were excited to try something new. The wait was only about 10 minutes, and the service was great from the hostess to our waiter (& the kitchen staff for being cautious about my allergies). I do want to note that it's hard to know what to expect based off the menu descriptions alone. While my ratatouille was good, I wouldn't have called it that in the first place based on the additives. It tasted completely different than anything I'd had before. Additionally, the portion was pretty small for $18. They were also out of three of the menu items we originally wanted the most, which made it difficult to find good alternatives within a reasonable amount of time. Once we ordered, everything was fine though! The drinks were strong - I definitely upvote the house sangria. The aesthetic was pleasant, and you can tell it was designed to complement the large amount of natural light that shines in. It was $60 for two drinks and two entrees, and I can't say it was worth it based on our specific experience. My boyfriend forgot to book a reservation for his birthday dinner so I scrambled to find a restaurant where we were able to accommodate our party size and in short notice. I called plenty of places in Tampa such as Bulla Gastrobar and the only way they were able to accommodate a party of our size were if we were to deposit around $300 and have a fixed menu for the guest... I was very frustrated but luckily remembered that we haven't tried Willa's yet and I always hear great reviews about the service and food. I went on the Willa's website and was able to email them to book a reservation. I was answered in a timely manner and felt like a valued guest. Willa's was able to accommodate the party free of charge and last minute. The food was flavorful and tasty and didn't take long to come out of the kitchen. Awful, I don't know if they changed owners or what, but, what a total letdown! The bagel with salmon was absolutely, totally plain. Just some salmon, inside a bagel, some tomato and sprouts. Totally artless. Not bad tasting, but, seriously? It's like something I would do. The huevos rancheros were visually ugly, a mix of tastes, kind of brownish thing on a plate. It looks like they change their menu up which I can appreciate because I saw different items from the first time I came from the most recent. The place is absolutely adorable! From the decor to the waiters. The reservation process was different, I've never had to leave my card for a possible deposit before for brunch. I came here with a friend for brunch and it was a decent crowd, not too busy. The restaurant was smaller than expected but it was cozy. What I Ordered: French Toast Mac and Cheese Willa's Tonic The french toast was topped with macerated berries, honey citrus syrup, brown butter almonds, and pastry cream. According to the menu, that was what I was supposed to receive. The almonds were slivered so there was practically no taste and the honey citrus syrup was so light I didn't even know it was there. The part that I was not a fan of is there was either pastry cream or custard inside of the french toast. It was unexpectant and extremely raw tasting. The filling inside was so overpowering, that I forgot about the other items! I probably would not order that again. The Mac and Cheese was filled with gruyére, cheddar, and provolone. IT actually looked amazing but the taste is where it fell short. The noodle to cheese ratio was off and it made the dish fall short. The flavor was a 2 with no seasoning whatsoever in the performance. The only thing that I truly loves was the Willa's Tonic. Im not a drinker but I do appreciate when restaurants have crafted drinks for non drinkers. Overall, I was completely underwhelmed by the food. The Service here for us was spot on starting with the host, Ronnie, who welcomed us in. We were early and decided to have a drink at the bar. Ronnie said the table would be available whenever we were ready. The bar service was great. I had the Strawberry Aperol Spritz which was very refreshing. After our drinks Ronnie took us to our table and we were lucky to get Joe D. as our server. He was personable and attentive and made us feel like family. I ordered the pork Schnitzel and my boyfriend ordered the steak Frites. The Schnitzel was a generous portion and super tasty. The greens on the side were light and I really liked the dressing. My boyfriend's steak arrived cold and they made him a new one. The manager came over and apologized. The new steak was perfectly cooked. For dessert we got the Peach Blueberry Cobbler which was off the chain. Joe recommended Pumpkin Vanilla Swirl on the side. It was the perfect ending to a delicious meal. My bff and I were determined to try a few restaurant week picks and this was 1st up. Restaurant week brought us in, but we tried a ton of things off the regular menu too. Immediately upon entering you know it's a great stocked bar and it just has the vibe that drinks will be old school, trendy and delicious; they are. We started with the lavender gin drink and it was I thought unbeatable as a gin lover. Our server later suggested the homemade tonic with gin and she was so passionate that I would love it, I tried it despite thinking a gin and tonic couldn't be as excellent as the gin cocktail. I was wrong. Their homemade tonic is unbelievable and you can get it alcohol free if that's your preference! The homemade potato chips were a must to snack on while perusing the menu (and the dip was good for the fries later!). Tahini cesear was out of this world.. I didn't know a cesear salad could get much better. Ricotta toast was wonderful and would be a brunch must for sure. For dinner we split the broccolini sandwich and rotisserie chicken as our mains (subbed side salad for mushrooms). Everything was better than the next. Broccolini sandwich was so unique we had to try it. The roasted flavor and gruyere cheese was such a fun combo! Overall great value, delicious food and I look forward to coming back and trying more. My bestie and I had a fabulous lady date at Willa's! We started with the beef tartare. It was delicious. My bestie has never had beef tartare before, so I'm thrilled this was her first experience. We shared the rotisserie chicken frites w a side of the asparagus. Everything was amazing. Dare I say....the best rotisserie chicken I have ever had...EVER.
