Me and my boyfriend came here around noon because I saw on one of the menus it said "breakfast all day" which is what we were hoping for, but that must have been an old menu because they weren't serving breakfast (we asked). So change of plans! The (virgin) piña colada was probably the best I've ever had, you can just taste that is wasn't made with some premade mixture. The pizza empanada wasn't the best, it tasted like cheap canned tomato sauce with a little bit of cheese but the filling kind of disappeared so it turned into a hollow crust. The alcapurria was better- it was beef along with other stuffings and had good texture and flavor. The steakstrami jibarito sounds like such a good concept-- replacing bread with two tostones-- but execution isn't as successful. The inside was too saucy to pick up and on the other hand the steak was a little tough to cut of a knife. Other than that, it is a good meal PLUS it is the "Guy Fieri favorite". The pernil papas locas is also a good concept-- who doesn't want to top fries with awesome meats and awesome sauces?! It's not quite a looker I'll admit, but it was the bomb. Saw this place on triple d and had to come check it out. We waited like 5-10 minutes for a table which wasn't bad. The pina colada was amazing and for food I got the pernil jibarito and wow. Great hole in the wall! I was recommended this place for their mofonogo, and it did not disappoint! It was hard finding this place at first as there are many small local shops next to it but it's found towards the further end of the parking lot. The parking is a free lot for all the businesses. Inside, the place is small, but it had more seating than I had expected with about 5 tables. But location and seating was on the back-burner for me; I was here for the mofongo! I ordered the bistec (steak) combo plate which had a thin slice of steak that came out whole rather than chopped, which I prefer anyway. The plate comes with 2 toasted bread slices, a small salad of chopped lettuce and tomatoes, and both spicy mayo + cilantro mayo. The steak was pretty good, and as for the mofongo which I had ordered as the side... it was delicious! Firm crust on the outside and it had a good bite to it, not too soft. The Alcapurria was warm and savory with a crisp outside and filled with rich plantain flavor and seasoned ground beef. The Mofongo was some of the best I have tried in Florida: garlicky and savory with both soft and crisp textures. The Pork Pincho was tender and smoky with a brush of sweet and flavorful barbecue sauce. Second time stopping here. I came in a while ago before they remodeled. It looks like they expanded over a bit, allowing for a large dining space so larger groups could come in and dine. I really like their rustic, very PR charm. But I came here for my mofongo and piña colada, and It did not disappoint. The mofongo was moist and just right. Nothing wrong with that it's just you should be AWARE of the set up before you go. I opted for take out since I am only a few miles away. The reviews are very accurate as far as the friendly service. Despite being slammed busy each customer still got a smile and a pleasant tone. That goes far in my book. They were able to explain all the dishes in Spanish, English, Portuguese or whatever is needed ! Since the line was so long and they only had one tablet to ring up stuff, they sent a girl through the line with an old school waitress pad to gather the orders and expedite the process. Great job! Nice way to try and take care of hungry waiting customers. I think it's great they were not complacent and took steps to help expedite things. While I waited I was apologized for the wait but I was aware FRESH MADE takes time. I did not come there for something heated up, I came for good FRESHLY prepared food. My wait was about 30 minutes which I understood looking at the volume of people. The phone rang at least once every 5 minutes with a new order so this place was really really really hopping busy. The grill made it a bit smokey inside. I would have enjoyed a little more ventilation but they were so so busy I understand why it was like that. However, Despite the hectic restaurant my order was CORRECT and tasted great. I had eaten pinchos at other places but this was my first Mofongo. I had the dish explained by a few different friends from D.R. and P.R. I enjoyed the food and it was tasty. Having never tried it before I can't compare it to other dishes. I was a bit confused that I was "told" the Pork is usually served ON TOP of the mofongo and/or mixed in. Perhaps it was because my order was "to go" that i got a "scoop" of mofongo and the pork and onions were on the side. As well as a "salad?" Basically lettuce and tomato slice. Again, I this was my first time with this dish so perhaps that is exactly as it is supposed to be. My friend got the burger on the tostone and it was delicious. So happy to have found Willie's Pinchos thanks to Yelp. They were so so good! Our favorite were our jibaritos. Oh they were so huge and big. I had steak and my hubby asked for two meats! You can just imagine how stacked it was. We also ordered two Pinchos! They were just okay to me. I think they should have been better considering that's part of their name. The best part ever was my gigantic pina colada. Talk about heaven. This place is fun, quirky, and different as is the location. After hearing about this place for months, the hubby and I decided to check it out. It was my cheat day for being keto and let me tell you, I was glad it was cheat day. Alcapurria is like an empanada with ground beef filling but instead of the dough around the filling, it's great plantains. It was a very flavor! I would have preferred to have some sauces for it but they didn't have any. I ordered a pork pincho with sweet plantains as a side. It was really good! However, I was still hungry afterwards. My husband ordered the Super Willie Jibaritos which was phenomenal! A much better choice. His order included a chicken breast (yes, a whole chicken breast!), ham, steak, lettuce, and tomato in between two fried plantains. Sooo good! My only concern was that I wish they had more COVID precautions. Most of the food being eaten is finger food and they only had one hand sanitizer by the payment area but not in the room where everyone is eating. Do not judge this place by the run down strip mall it is in. Located across from Sam's Club on Goldenrod, this small restaurant is worth checking out! I stopped in for dinner with my husband last night. I didn't really have any expectations and I left so impressed with everything. You place your order at the counter and it is brought to your table. Payment is made after you finish your delicious meal. The staff is super friendly and funny. I had a great time talking to them. After I found out they make a burger with tostones as the bun (tostones are twice fried green plantain slices), I had to try one! So I ordered the playero burger ($7.50) which comes with two fried plantians (no bread), lettuce, tomatoes, ketchup, pickles, mayo, cheese, and potato sticks. I have tried this before at other places, mostly a popular Colombian thing, and this one was by far the best. They make the tostones fresh! No frozen here. So it does take a little bit to make but it is worth the wait. What I also loved about this burger was the pickles. Next time I think I'll tell them to skip the potato sticks and add extra pickles! I feel that with the crispy plantains the potato sticks are not needed or noticed. My husband got the Island Burger ($7.50) which comes with pineapple jam, mayo, ketchup, mustard, potato sticks, pink sauce, garlic cilantro sauce, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and cheese. The pineapple jam is what caught his eye. This burger was also excellent! Both of our burgers were juicy and flavorful. The sides we got were the fries which are crinkle cut and fried to perfection! This place is a little hole in the wall that I would have never found if I didn't actually walk around that area after getting desserts next door. As I walk in, I see this little restaurant featuring pinchos. After going to Puerto Rico a couple times, and having the best pinchos,whenever I see pinchos in the area, I always want some. After coming in here and ordering the pinchos, it was a great choice. This restaurant prides themselves on being featuring on the Food Network with Guy's show. Normally I don't do this but, just today on 06/14/2020 I walk into the store as usual to purchase my Chicken Pincho and when I get home and begin to eat on my very last meat I realized something dark at the end. When I looked it was a fly, crispy on my chicken. My instant reaction is to throw it out but I quickly took a picture and called to tell them I wanted a refund in which then the person who answered told me to bring the food in. I've been living in the Orlando area for years, having been born and raised in Puerto Rico. I don't typically search out Puerto Rican food. This location was recommended by our friend who had seen it on tv. Walking in, it's a smaller location but you are easily reminded of the island. Where nothing really fits together, but there is a sense of home. We sat and ordered our food quickly, since it's a smaller location, the server was manning the register and phone. This was sometimes a bit difficult, as if you wanted to get a drink, you are going to need to get up and grab it from the fridge yourself. We ordered a Fritura and it was the first to come out which was the perfect appetizer. The Carne Empanadilla was great and well cooked. Unfortunately, the crab option wasn't available during our visit. For our entree we got Pinchos with mofongo and a bistec. The mofongo was amazing and perfectly cooked, I could eat mofongo all day everyday and this is one I would gladly eat. I do wish they had some mofongo relleno that would have protein in the center though. I was very excited for the Pinchos, they were well sauced up with a barbecue-like sauce and it was quite tasty! Unfortunately the chicken was a bit dry, I'm assuming it was because they were thicker cuts. Finally the bistec was well seasoned, but was likely the least I cared for. It could have used more onions. I didn't specifically ask for alcoholic but I didn't see any on the menu or in the fridge. It would have been great to have a medalla or heineken while waiting and through our meal. Overall it was a great location and I would recommend it.
