I have been a member of Winc for quite some time (back when it was still Club W). I'm very happy with the service, and use it as a fun way to experiment with different varietals and styles of wine. In general the wines are pretty good. Every now and then I get a dud, but not often. They deliver via FedEx (at least in my area-LA area), which works great for me. I have a FedEx location near me, so I always alter my delivery so I can just pickup at the store. That way I don't worry about being out when the wine arrives. I've never received a broken bottle as some reviewers claimed. It might be because of FedEx... maybe other delivery services are used elsewhere. The only complaint I have is this: when they switched over to Winc and redesigned the webpage they took down all the sommelier videos. They used to have short little videos describing the wines. We live in Pennsylvania, a difficult state to do a wine business in. So when I found that Winc would deliver, and actually had a distribution facility outside of Philadelphia (about 60 miles away), we took a chance. We've been members for 9 months and the wines have been, generally, a good value. We're not too fussy and enjoyed trying some new things. I'm cancelling today, however, because Winc is just about impossible to do business with. Their subscription service is the Hotel California - the only reliable way to get a response from them is to leave a nasty message on their Facebook board. Then they want to IM with you over Facebook. And you have to 'request' to unsubscribe that way as well - and you can't delete a credit card that is current. The biggest issue we've had is the breakage. Last month two shipments arrived at the FedEx facility broken (again, a trip of 60 miles) so that was two days I had to be home to accept the shipment. Winc had no idea what the problem was, but kept reissuing boxes. But the wines kept changing because they'd sold out of the ones that I had ordered. Finally the third box arrived intact. My FedEx driver confessed they have the worst time with Winc packaging. He even showed me where Winc doesn't label the boxes as Fragile according to FedEx protocol. He gave me the name of two other subscription services he said they never have a problem with. So we're switching. Unless you spend a lot of time at home I'd advise looking elsewhere. read more

What an utter disappointment, after being with Winc for almost 2 years, and over 40 bottles of wine delivered, today I tried to "skip a month" when I clicked the button, somehow I clicked "deliver now". While I admit that it was my user error that did this, I immediately contacted Winc, they got back to my message 4 hours later and informed me that since my order was in a box ready to be shipped there was nothing they can do. ( IT HAD MOT SHIPPED YET, IT WAS IN THEIR WAREHOUSE IN A BOX.) What horrible customer service! There are lots of other wine clubs out there, I will have to try a new one with better customer service. read more

I am disappointed in the shipping service. The wines have been delicious but the last THREE months orders have either broken during shipment or failed to arrive at all. I have no idea what is going on with FedEx but it is completely unreliable. I waited at home THREE DAYS in a row because I was waiting for wine for a special event and not one attempt was made by the shipper although I was notified that delivery failed due to no one being home. I swear FedEx is stealing my wine. Would love to know if anyone else is having these issues. I would give 4/5 stars for the wine quality and customer service, however they have not been able to resolve this issue sooo if I can't ever get the wine it is pretty pointless. read more

The marketing and packaging is fantastic but the wine is not. The cost might make it seem like a good value but have us paying a huge markup on really crappy wine. The wine lacks complexity and flavor. Much of what I've received is tart. I've poured several unpalatable bottles down the drain. Even more frustrating is how difficult it is to unsubscribe. Buyer beware that you can't just do it online. You have to call some number where you're put on hold. You then have to wait to speak to an agent who will try to convince you to stay. No reputable wine company would make you jump through these hoops. Save your money for liquor barn. read more

Beware!!! I was satisfied with my selections; the difficulties came with communications and ethical operations. When I tried to cancel I was referred to online forms - I clearly quit - MULTIPLE TIMES. When that didn't work , I tried the phones which are down again, which is very common with this organization. WINC keeps charging your card no matter what you say or do. They are super difficult to deal with. SO SORRY I SUBSCRIBED. I never got my so called points credited, either! Ripoff! I had my first order delivered with problems. FedEx the carrier they use only delivers in my area between 9-1 and You have to have someone 21 years of age or older to sign for the package. The emails and registration did not mention this at the time or what you need to do if you can't be home to pick it up. Because we work normal 8-5 hours I had to find a local fed ex drop off location and schedule a pick up which the closest was 7 miles away. Then I placed my account on hold. Never received any emails that it was off the hold and going to be delivered until I checked my cc and saw a $61 charge! I called customer service they said there is a non refundable $20 restocking fee. I asked to have it waived due to not receiving any notification of shipment, which they refused. Save your money. You can buy cheaper tastier wine at Trader Joe's or BevMo .99 deal, or Even the supermarket. read more

Winc Wine made it so easy to treat my man to some exceptional wines that we don't normally have access to! I enjoyed the profile survey asking for specifics on my likes and dislikes so they could suggest some really great wine options. I ended up customizing my own box based on their recommendations and my husband has loved each one! This monthly service was so easy to choose and have shipped to my local FedEx (I was busy the day the package was to arrive so I was able to have it stored at Walgreens until I could pick it up). I came across Winc online through an article that mentioned how top quality and reasonably priced they were. I don't join mail order clubs as a rule and so I did quite a bit of research before I decided to try them. Today was evidence that I chose a great company to go with. There was an issue with my delivery and Winc was easy to reach out to. Their response was timely and helpful. I have enjoyed many of their wines and their suggestions were very helpful. The wine selection is not terrible, but the customer service is. In a current state of being able to sign up for an account on the internet, not being able to cancel through a similar interface, or an order, is highly unacceptable. In addition, policies that they advertise as being the way to handle things on their website are advertising their approach to business. In my case, as stated on their website, I attempted to cancel an order at what they listed as "captured", when as per their website FAQ, states can be cancelled before the "committed" state. Will not be recommending this service to other wine enthusiasts, and be seeking methods to get as much of a refund of my money as possible. read more

Bottom line: awful. Not one bottle we have gotten is anything beyond nasty tasting. We had difficulty finding anything good as they were all out of the vast majority of wines showing on their site. I was looking forward to my first order however there was a problem with my delivery leading to the wine spending three days on the back of a truck during the Texas summer where temperatures inside a vehicle easily reach over 100 degrees. I just joined recently and have enjoyed the wines to date. However, as some of you may be aware, there is a growing movement following the Parkland shooting to sever ties with businesses that do business with the NRA. How does this relate to WINC? Unfortunately their only shipping service is FEDEX, a company which has close ties to the NRA and offers their members discounts on shipping. I am skipping a month's shipment while I hope FEDEX has a change of heart or WINC. decides to use another shipping service or at least provide its members with a choice of shippers. However, when I used a discount code to purchase my first order I was automatically enrolled in a membership and discreetly charged each month with ZERO notifications. No receipts or notice of the charges were emailed to me. I simply wanted to purchase the singular order with the discount code. I was not notified that I was enrolled in a membership and I received NO receipts or notifications that my credit card was being charged monthly. WINC is extremely shady in this regard. I had no clue that I was a member, and I think customers should always be made aware of things like this. This is too bad, because the wine was great and so is the easy method of ordering. I've had 2 shipments from Winc thus far and have been overall very pleased with the wines they have curated for me. I have opted for only red wines, and sometimes I pick ones other than their recommendations, but I've found both their recommended wines and their descriptions online very helpful in expanding my wine palate. I would highly recommend wine lovers giving it a try. My only complaint is having to be home to sign for the package when it comes, and you have to pay extra to FedEx to request a certain delivery time frame. Other than that, I love Winc. read more

Most concerning was the lack of customer service- after they delivered the wrong shipment to me, I tried calling, texting and emailing, and only got auto responses. The wine was good. Scheduling for the delivery is a big hassle. I thought it was going to be convenient, but I have missed my delivery twice, then I paid FedEx an extra fee to get it delivered in the evening, and I still missed it. It's a nice concept but the whole delivery process of getting someone to sign does not work for people who have jobs. I also cannot have it delivered to my workplace due to the fact that I'm not always there, and I'm not comfortable with having the admin signing for my personal packages. That's not in her job description and is highly unprofessional. If you have someone that works from home or is available this may work for you, but for those that have regular jobs it does not. I will just pick my wine up at the grocery store. read more
