Warning: WINC is one of those recurring subscription models that makes it impossible for you to cancel, and then provides a terrible customer experience when you attempt to. Great idea, decent wine, but not worth the cancellation experience. My roommate and I signed up for WINC through a promotion with HelloFresh, and tried it for a couple months. The wine was decent, but we decided we didn't need it since we had a large stock of wine to get through, so we attempted to cancel. We couldn't remember which email we used, so we logged into their portal using every email address both of us had. Every email allowed us to log in, but showed no order history, so we couldn't confirm which it was. We emailed the WINC team to request them to cancel, telling them our name, mailing address, and credit card used, and they said they couldn't process cancellations over email or chat, only over phone, and only during M-F business hours. So my roommate had to set a reminder to call them during his workday, and even after a 30 min call they couldn't locate the account. By this time, we had been hit with a another recurring charge of WINC wine, despite attempting to cancel it weeks prior. I called in to reattempt to locate the account via my CC info, and we finally found it. I asked to cancel the account and refund the last month, since we had already put a few hours into jumping through hoops to get this cancelled. I got escalated to a manager, and she gave me two options: 1. Ship the wine back at our expense and incur a $20 restock fee 2. "Meet half way" and they would reimburse $29 of the $60 shipment of wine I was incredibly frustrated at this point, having wasted over 4 hours of mine and my roommates time trying to work through their convoluted cancellation process, and to have the result be that WINC was going to negotiate with me and provide a suboptimal service experience. Companies like Zappos are as successful as they are because they put customers first and work with them to a solution that generates a raving fan of a customer, rather than getting defensive, blaming, and negotiating against their customers. Companies like WINC will find that this ends up harming their growth and success, because stories like these will be communicated and shared, and customers like me will highly encourage others to never try their services. I will also be encouraging Hello Fresh to not partner with them in the future, because it reflects poorly on their brand to partner with companies that don't hold the same customer service standards they do. WINC team if you read this, I hope you actually do something about it and re-evaluate your customer service philosophy (and make your cancellation process easier, if you had a great product & service then you shouldn't have to creates so many hoops to cancel). Generosity will get you a lot further in business and life than cheating and shortchanging people. read more

The bottles you receive are full size and most have beautiful labels as well which makes them nice to place out. I had a few monthly orders from Winc before I gave up drinking at home. I would say 85% of the wines received I loved, 10% were just ok, and 5% (one only) was what I consider bad. I believe they credit you for any wines you didn't like, although I didn't use this feature. As a vegan, I appreciated the ability to limit my wine shipments to vegan wines only (it has to do with the processing, if you're wondering). I think you can also limit the types in other ways, like organic. The best part is how easy they make it to skip a month. You literally just log on and click a button. Just make sure you do it 48 hours before the shipment goes out. Cancelling is not quite as easy, but still very painless. You can do it by chatting during business hours--no phone call required. The other thing is that cancelled is more like permanently paused-- you can always restart the membership by logging back in and making an order. Pricing is fair considering the quality, but keep in mind it will be around $50-60 a month if you get the minimum of 3 bottles. read more

I love Winc! I am a huge fan of the fact that you can pick the wines you want unlike other subscriptions that send you the "wine of the month," and the customer service is phenomenal! Whenever they send out a survey or ask what they can do to improve their service, they seem to genuinely listen and get better with each survey. I also love the "Schedule a Somm" feature, where you can chat with a sommelier about possible food pairings, suggest wines to try, or even pair you with a wine and food match for a special evening. read more

I understand that there are shipping delays right now, but there's no reason why an order should take 15 days to ship. I ordered from another wine club last night, and it has already shipped today. This leads me to believe that Winc just doesn't have product in stock, and if you don't have product in stock, you shouldn't be advertising as though you do. I cancelled my membership through a web chat with Ash (she was fabulous, btw) which was easy. I've read a lot about what a headache it is to cancel, and I agree that ANY business that does online dealings should allow you to also cancel online, through the website, without having to speak to anyone. However, I'm on the east coast, Winc is on the west, so you just have to remember that, if you're in a different time zone, the best way to contact that them through web chat is when they open YOUR TIME. That's what I did, and I was only 2nd in queue. I'm disappointed, all around, with this company. Hopefully, in the future, they'll get their shit together and make things easier for their customers. I love Winc! It's a reliable way to keep wine in the house without breaking the bank. I've only received 1 wine that I didn't particularly care for in the last 6 months of shipments. If you're a wine snob or looking for top notch stuff, this probably isn't for you. But if you're a casual drinker (like me), this is a great way to stock up. Great concept unfortunately it was ruined by the inability to cancel my membership when I needed to. The phone number available is bogus. You cannot email to cancel. You have to use Facebook Messenger- which I do not use or chat online which the reps seem to always disconnect. Really unfortunate. I've received 3 or 4 shipments now and have enjoyed trying new wines. Some of the wines are excellent (and I have those reshipped each month) and a couple have been so-so. But I like being able to rate them and keep track so that I don't get those again. I love the convenience of having the wine delivered (with very little packaging - a plus). And the labels and are all beautiful, so it's been nice to bring a bottle for a dinner party, especially since you can't buy these wines in stores. The only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars is because I think the prices are just a few dollars too high per bottle. When I go to the super market I end up always taking the same stuff, so with Winc I can taste new wines. I wish I could give this company a 0 star review. It's just sketchy. First of all, you can't just cancel the subscription easily. If you attempt to cancel, it will simply 'skip a month'. Then, surprise, you get charged next month for more wine that you didn't want. You can't cancel through the website. In order to cancel, you need to call/chat with them. If you do end up calling or getting into the chat to cancel fully, they send message after message trying to dissuade you from cancelling. But it doesn't end there! It seems, if you skip a month, they change your subscription without informing you. We went from receiving 4 bottles with free shipping, to 3 bottles + shipping cost. Again, no notice of this change until I opened the box and saw only three bottles (and the shipping cost was equal to one bottle of wine). I feel like I've been scammed out of several bottles of wine this way. Overall, this company has left a very bad taste in my mouth and I wouldn't recommend anyone to use this service. Spend ten minutes at your local wine/liquor store and save yourself the trouble. read more

I've been a member since May. I keep wanting to like the wine membership but have been repeatedly annoyed when trying to make purchases. It takes over an hour every time to try and make a purchase. The system does not update when items are out of stock so you add them then go to purchase and it take them out saying that they are not available but then stay on the website to add to cart. I then take the time to read about the next wine choice to substitute and it does it again. I've even worked with customer service and the same thing happens to them when trying to add to my cart. I have been ordering 6 bottles each time but gave up at 4 this time because I don't have any more time to waste. The wines are fine. SAVE YOURSELF AGREVATION, AND STRESS, DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS WITH WINC WINES. Two years ago I was a member of their wine club and found their wine mediocre at best. I also found very poor support on their web site. I cancelled my membership. This time, 2021 for New Year, I was given a gift coupon and when I tried to redeem it they charged my credit card instead of redeeming the coupon. The only time they responded to an email is when they gave me vague instructions on how to redeem the gift coupon. Since then they have failed to cancel my order, have not responded to over 6 emails, will not answer their phone, have charged my CC for an order they refused to cancel, and give you no way to remove my CC number from my account information. If you choose to use their web site you will find that you have to give them a CC number before you can redeem a coupon, or do any wine selection before the finale purchase. I ask you why would an honest company require your CC number before the final purchase? I would also ask you to look at most of the internet reviews for wink wine. You will find that they are not legitimate reviews at all, but links to their website. read more
