Wow. The chicken sandwich here is phenomenal. There are a couple places you think about when it comes to a bomb fried chicken sandwich and Wing Ferno needs to be one of those places. I always drive right by this place but finally got around to checking it out and I'm glad I did. The chicken sandwich is a little pricey (~$11) but it blows CFA and Popeyes out of the water. You can tell the chicken here is better quality and it's a FAT piece of chicken too. Not to mention, as you take each bite, the chicken is juicy and moist. I was looking for some late night food while staying near the airport when I came across wing Ferno on Uber eats. They had Caribbean jerk wings which are my favorite. That made up my mind for dinner plans and I placed order. First, the good news, the wings were fantastic. Really good flavor and plenty of meat on the bone. The jerk seasoning was spicy without being over the top. And the blue cheese came in a big dipping cup. I ordered two extra blue cheese because the places I am used to usually give you a tiny cup. But this place does not skimp and I was able to get through eight wings with just one cup of blue cheese. Now for the great news! Let me let you in a little secret. It's called garlic noodles. I've been traveling and I was just kind of over fries at the moment so I decide to see what other side options they had. They offered veggies but that's gross. What do I want to be healthier? and then something called garlic noodles. I figured let's roll the dice and see what they are. What they are is freaking fantastic! Best bone in wings in LA. 2nd best spicy chicken sandwich in LA (only Howlin Rays in Chinatown is better). I started out with walking dead bone in wings. Wow! Most places lie about how spicy their sauces are, but this place does not. I was sweating and downing waters the entire time. Sauce was just not hot enough to where it wouldn't be fun to eat, but still super spicy. Then, I ate the lemon pepper bone in wings. These were made to perfection. They had tons of flavor and I'd totally order hundreds of these for a party. Next I tried the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. I had the 2nd spiciest level (can't remember) and it wasn't all that spicy (compared to the walking dead sauce). However, the pickles, and cole slaw, plus it's a super thick cut of chicken made this bad boy bomb! I also tried the garlic fries. Very garlicy. Pretty standard, as you would expect. Skipped this place for so long because I thought it was another Wingstop like place. My mistake! So many more sauce options, but the real kicker for me is that they do salt and pepper as a topping. Food is really good. The ambience is really good was kind of bummed today. They didn't have the Kansas City and Dolphins game but when it comes to service the staff is very rude. They don't check all the boxes to make sure that you have everything that you need this is one of the reasons why I don't give them five stars cause a time or two before, I took their word on everything being there and I was shorted fries and I had the wrong flavor spice on a sandwich. They do say if you want to come back, you can do it at the end of the day that's long you don't wanna come back you just want your order right the first time. But yet they have the audacity to make you sign something acknowledging that you received everything 100% so they tried to give me a hard time. Just wish they would do a better job of verifying everything is there because they are very busy and the people at the front should be verifying every order. These were definitely "wings done right!" Crispy, flavorful and spicy. The perfect combination. Ordered through ubereats so I didn't get the full fresh out the kitchen experience but still worth it. This wing joint is good - what attracted me was the variety of heat levels. Now wings aren't my usual pick for dinner, an appetizer or snack yes, but it was his choosing so I obliged because I've had Wing Ferno bookmarked for a bit. All were tasty, heat as expected and my lips were tingling. Cleared the sinuses and I even wiped the sweat off my brow a couple times, the sign of some darn good heat! What I could not get past though was the distinct sweetness each flavor had. Was it me? Maybe. Everything was sweet. I was drinking water only so my beverage wasn't a factor. In any case the wings were good, decent amount of meat (we had drums only for the extra charge). Plenty of wings leftover so I'll give 'em a try at home later as a snack. Now the chicken sandwich was fantastic! Nuclear hot, temperature not spice but that's what I expect when food is freshly made. It was as big as my head, good thing I was sharing, I don't think leftover sammich would be as yummy the next day. Garlic noodles were tasty but not life changing - just like garlic noodles should. And then even tho you have stopped eating because you're not crazy, your mouth feels like it's on fire, and no amount of soda will calm it down. You try eating some fries, or some mild wings. Everything feels like fire, and your mouth is in pain. The only thing you can do is hold water in your mouth for about 5 min, until the pain subsides.
