Between the price, the friendly service, and the food, this is worth a visit. Just know what you're getting into: it isn't a fancy place, but you aren't paying for a fancy place, and the servers working the counter were nevertheless more courteous and considerate than those at a lot of fancy places (really). It isn't the best pizza in the world, but you aren't in Naples. It isn't a steal as far as prices go, but you aren't going to be gouged, either. All in all, it's a great place in a tourist area for a casual, middle-class lunch. We ordered pizza (Hawaiian!), burgers, fries, salads, and I think soup, too. They brought the food to us relatively quickly, and I was surprised at how good the pizza and the hamburger were: at least the pizza was better than a dedicated, otherwise-unnmed pizza restaurant in Sevierville, which itself was no slouch. I don't believe we had any of the dessert; we were already pretty well stuffed. I was a little disappointed in the soda fountain drinks (no root beer, no cherry coke) and while contemplating my choices one server came up to me and started discussing her preference: an "Arnold Palmer"; that is, lemonade and tea. They made me pay first before receiving my food. I also did not get any sort of ticket or receipt. The lady just wrote down a price and said that was my total. I decided to calculate everything on the menu and somehow an extra 3 dollars was charged. It did not add up to the price she told me. It was until after the fact I realized that another table had gotten a ticket and was billed after they received their food and ate already. Surprisingly good food for a little hole-in-the-wall place tucked in just off the main drag in Cherokee. Wife and I both had a Chief Burger and we split a lunch special (7.00) of 2 huge pepperoni pizza slices and a drink. Plus I had a salad and an order of breaded mushrooms. Everything was great. We were both full, but I wanted to try the jalapeno poppers, so that will have to wait for next time. Counter personnel were very friendly and kept checking back with us to make sure everything was OK. Scope this place out if you're passing through Cherokee. read more

Dinging one star because it took 40 minutes to get my food and one star because the lady who brought food out and bussed tables had a nasty attitude to everyone she encountered and at one point was yelling at an empty table for something (presumably because the people left and had not turned in their order placard?). I can't tell you if the food is good, we never got to eat. We stood in line for about 10 minutes. My parents were ahead of us in line and got to order, but when it got to us the cashier just walked away because someone in the back told her to stop taking orders because they were backed up. We waited another 15 minutes. The people behind the counter never acknowledged us, never apologized, or gave us any indication of when they would start taking orders again and the line was now backed out the door. The phone rang off the hook and someone behind the counter just said to ignore it. They were also out of chicken and french fries somehow, even though it was only lunchtime. We discovered this place on our way through Cherokee and are so glad that we ventured off the beaten path for it! It is in a strip mall and is kind of a "two-in-one" set up with a counter for burgers/hotdogs/fries and another counter for pizza. The restaurant is very clean and the employees were friendly and helpful. The burgers were nothing short of amazing. They were huge and well cooked. They come with ketchup, mustard, mayo and lettuce and tomato which is how I like them. One of the best burgers I have ever eaten. The fries were also good, they were the kind that is battered - but really the burger is the standout here. The portions were generous. We will definitely swing by again when we are on our way through the area and will recommend to others! read more

This unassuming restaurant has first-rate NY style pizza at very reasonable prices. It's as good as you'll get anywhere. Hamburgers and deli sandwiches are very good. One in our group had the chicken wings. Also very good. Simple, well-prepared and reasonably priced restaurant well suited to feeding a family. In July 2020, the restaurant is takeout only due to state COVID-19 rules. But the Oconaluftee river is across the street, and it makes a great spot for a picnic. read more

What a great spot to stop for a quick bite! The staff is exceptionally friendly!!! The food was fresh, tasty, and affordable. A family of 5 cost us $36. Kids pizza was very good...thin crust with quality ingredients. Not a frozen pizza for sure. Kids chicken fingers were very good. Us grown ups opted for a party melt and philly. I'm very picky about patty melts and this one did not disappoint. Grilled (not toasted thankfully) with onions and cheese on texas toast. The philly was a nice size and also fresh. The cowboy poppers were very good...fried little nuggets of jalepeno, cheese, corn, and bacon.YUM! Need I say more? We aren't local and dont always find decent places to eat in touristy towns but we definitely recommend this gem and will be back! read more

Upon arriving around 11:40 we were told it was a 25 minute wait to get food. We proceeded to order as we weren't in a hurry. We noticed a large group of probably 15 had arrived just before us and they obviously weren't staffed for that. My wife and I stopped into Wize Guyz Grille on September 5th 2018, due to the fact that we happened to be in Cherokee, NC and it was listed #1 on yelp. Finding the location was real easy and parking was abundant. Upon our arrival. we were pleasantly surprised. The location looks small from the outside but in fact is quite big inside. Plenty of seating and very clean. As we approached the counter, the menu was rather large and contained just about anything and everything you could possibly want from this style of restaurant. And, they just started serving pasta on the menu too! The lady at the counter was extremely polite and patient with us as we both looked over the menu and our choices. So many things to choose from. We both ordered fountain drinks. Then, my wife ended up ordering the Philly Steak Burger with provolone cheese, American cheese, mayo, green peppers and onions with homemade chips. I ordered a Nathan's Famous Hot Dog with ketchup, mustard and sweet relish, with a side of Jalapeno Poppers and a slice of Cheesecake. (Which, I absolutely knew, I'd never get a bite of.) The lady at the counter finished up the order and we filled our fountain drinks. Upon filling the drinks, we seated ourselves so that we could watch over the entire restaurant and be within view of nearly all the televisions playing various different programs. Our food came out rather quicker than I had expected it to. Everything was so fresh. I have been to many Nathan's Famous Hot Dog locations, even the one on Coney Island, and have never gotten a Nathan's Famous Hot Dog so hot in many entire life! (Way to go Wize Guyz!) The jalapeno poppers were extremely hot in a very fresh way. My meal was correct and very tasty! My wife's (which I also tasted) was just as good! The Philly Steak Burger was great. The homemade chips were phenomenal. And... the cheesecake, I actually got a bite! A very small bite she said, but a bite. All in all, the service here was great. The two girls working the dining room were very nice and helpful. They asked us a few times if we needed anything and cleared the table promptly as soon as we were finished. The service here was great. Quality and freshness was exceptional. Loved the food. Loved the Wize Guyz shirts the crew were wearing. Nice visit. Our only regret... we didn't get any pictures of the food. But, it gives us an excuse to go back. Which we will most definitely do! We were looking for a reasonably priced restaurant in Cherokee that had good food and boy did we get it. I had the Philly cheese steak with their homemade chips and it was just yummy. Mama had a fish sandwich and my aunt a burger, both were enjoyed. The location is kind of off the main strip and in an area that seems to be on the decline, but inside it was spotless, the people were beyond friendly and the food was good. 1st time going, wanted wings, best wings I've ever had. They were cooked beautifully, the fries were absolutely fantastic, and their pizza looked pretty high quality. I don't want people to expect having the best wings in the world when they get there because I know how much experience, planning, preparation, and work must go into making a perfect wing every time, but all signs upon first inspection point to a great place to trust to make you a decent meal with integrity. Being that I take my wings and fries seriously, I urge anyone going to eat there to give them more than even a couple chances before you realize that this place may be 1 of only a handful of places if even that oin the region that can be trusted with your health and respect. read more

The establishment itself was nicely decorated. The staff although friendly for the most part, made you feel a bit uncomfortable with the staring at you while you were trying to order. The burger had WAY too much mustard about $.69 bottles worth, the patty was paper-thin and burnt. After you sat down the staff, being extremely bored, came round about every 10 minutes wanting to know if everything was ok. Teach your staff not to STARE at customers. This is not a nice sit down restaurant, it is expensive fast food. If that is what you are looking for, my family says the burger was good, the wings were acceptable, the philly and garlic bread were gross. It smells like a dumpster outside and the A/C barely works inside. They were out of chicken. The bathroom was yucky. But the cashier was very nice. There is a $2 up charge on every ticket for Covid... instead of appreciating that we have come to their business instead of a chain food restaurant they charge you more money.... they also charge you a service fee for using a CC when they are already charging you for Covid and most prefer cashless payments... Pizza was pretty good. I wish it has been a little thicker but to each their own. read more
