Wize Guyz in Cherokee, NC is located as soon as you exit Great Smokey National Park the on the North Carolina side. Cherokee is a very small town and there did not seem to be many options for a lunch/rest stop but Wise Guyz was a great choice. For a place in the middle of nowhere the food was respectable. We ordered Philly Cheese Sandwiches, Pizza, and Wings. Yes, junk food heaven! The boys. Loved the Philly cheese sandwiches. The wings were very crispy with nice lemon pepper and Parmesan garlic flavorings. The pizza pizza had good taste but the crust was soggy. The best part about the restaurant was the staff.....so friendly and helpful! Wise Guyz had WiFi but we still could not get service. We needed help with directions and the gentleman there got online to help us with directions. Definitely had to upgrade due to all the time they took to help us. Picked up an order to go while camping in the area. The service and hospitality were excellent. It was clear that the staff in the front of the house was well-coached and worked well together. While I was waiting the young lady, Kyra, who took our order, came by several times to check on me and let me know how much longer she expected my order to be. The sanitation rating was excellent and looking around while waiting on my order, they kept the place clean and continued to freshen up regularly. While the food was also excellent, the only concern came from the kitchen, in watching them work, the fry cook wasn't keeping up with the other kitchen staff and people who were waiting for wings, fries, etc had their other food stacked in the window while they were catching up. With a small amount of correction, I would certainly call it a 5! Overall, it was a great experience and I would dine there again! read more

A nice little cafe in Cherokee North Carolina. It is off the main drive and we were lucky to find it. There was ample parking for the visit. It's a walk up to order Cafe. They brought the food to us at our table. And enjoyed the burgers and fries. They offer a variety of food items, and I'm sure the other items are just as pleasurable to eat. Hidden Gem. This place has great food at a reasonable price. We ordered the Patty Melt Burger and the OMG Burger with homemade chips. Both burgers came out looking amazing! I had the patty melt burger and it had a generous amount of onions on it and was ooy-gooy with cheese. The burger was a little more done than I like, but they do not ask burger temp. Overall a good tasting burger. The OMG burger is just that! Crazy amount of food!! The burger patties on this are also cooked over what we would usually eat, but still taste good. Everything is fried: all out of a bag, a can, a box. Nothing fresh, nothing yummy. The oil on my Italian sub was actually rancid. Ok they did have fresh tomatoes: commercially grown sickly things so thinly sliced they were hardly visible. Our food was *terrible* and we paid $40 for two meals. read more

This place was on our route all week to and from the KOA Holiday in Cherokee, and after cooking all week, we wanted to stop by and get a pizza. Nothing but teenagers running the place and socializing with each other. Our "garden salad" was fluffy lettuce (not sure what kind) some red onion, a couple cherry tomatoes and a sparse sprinkling of cheese. We asked for Honey Mustard, but received Ranch, went to get the correct dressing and was given "dipping sauce". Very hard to use as a dressing. The pizza was a "Supreme", NOT hot, no sauce (even though I asked for light sauce), and was not even crispy. Well undercooked. The KOA had mentioned Wize Guyz, but now they will not recommend them to the campers any more after the number of issues campers and staff have had over the past month. We eat here 1-2 times a week because it is so close to our home. The staff is very polite and friendly. But about every third time we order, the order is wrong. It has become aggravating. Most of what we have ordered from here has been good food. With the exception of our last order. Wow! It was Horrible!!! We ordered a pizza for the first time from here and for the last time. It was a BBQ chicken pizza. Hardly any BBQ flavor and barely any chicken. The crust was rubbery and difficult to chew. I could have bought a frozen pizza from the grocery store and not only would it have been considerably cheaper but would have tasted A LOT better. Also, ordered mozzarella sticks. Never again. They were microwaved, there was more cheese in the to go plate than in the cheese stick. Very disappointed in this order. Great Food! We visited this little gem on our last trip to Cherokee. I'm so glad we gave it a try. As with many other small establishments, there is a shortage of employees. This did not change the level of customer service. The staff was still friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. This was my first visit, but it definitely won't be my last. Stopped here on our way to Mingo Falls. My friend and I ordered two fish sandwiches, chicken wings with hot Buffalo sauce and pretzel bites. Everything was cooked to perfection. The pretzel bite were crisp on the outside, soft in the center and loaded with salt, which I love. The fish sandwiches had two good sized pieces of fish. I added extra tarter. Fish did need just a sprinkle of salt but other than that, it was delicious. We ordered the wings extra crispy and that they were! I missed getting a picture before they were half gone. We saw a pizza at another table and it looked like it had thin and crispy crust, so we'll definitely be back to try that. Staff was friendly, service was quick. read more

After a day of hiking we ordered ahead on the way back to the casino. Tried the Pepperoni explosion and breadsticks and it was very good! Pizza Crust was tasty. Looking for a great burger in Cherokee, look no further, my husband and I recently spent a week in town and did a bit of carry out. We each ordered a burger, he had a double cheeseburger and I had the black and blu. Both were cooked perfectly and had a great taste, I had the onion rings and really enjoyed them, they were not overly breaded or greasy, my husband had fries and said they were just okay. Best Wings in Cherokee, NC! I was here over the weekend (needed a break from the city and all the overwhelming things going on in the world) and I was craving some wings and pizza. I was so fortunate to find this cozy establishment in walking distance of my hotel. This was one of the few places open that has quality food. I had the pleasure of meeting Thomas. He was so attentive and courteous. He recommended the wings and they did NOT disappoint. I went with the 10 inch pizza and 6 piece wings. First off, the pizza was so delicious! Thin crust and a little burnt just the way I LOVE IT! My favorite however were the wings! Coming from ATLANTA, GA, where everyone proclaims to have the best wings, I had high expectations and they didn't let me down. The wings were fully grown, full of tender, juicy meat. They were fried to perfection. I was honestly impressed. My meal came to $16, including my drink. They had a pretty large menu including burgers, salads and pasta. We've eaten at Wize Guyz several times and I've never had a single thing that wasn't delicious. We love the Chief Burger. It's really good with fries. My husband loves the hotdogs too. My favorite by far though is the MEATAZZA pizza! OMG it's so freaking good! The crust is New York style thin crust and the toppings are so fresh and tasty. I think it's the best pizza around. As an added bonus the last time we ordered the mozzarella sticks and they were delicious too. This restaurant has such a big variety of foods that everyone in your family will find something they like. The staff is very friendly also. It has a sports bar atmosphere without the bar. I really wanted to like this place. The staff was friendly and the food was out to our table quickly. We ordered spaghetti, wings/fries, and Boscoe sticks. The Boscoe sticks were good, and that was about it. The wings were way over cooked. I like crispy skin, but not crunchy meat (at times). The spaghetti had a very watery sauce, and lacked any real pizzazz. The bowl looked like white noodles as the watery sauce settled to the bottom. Pleasantly surprised by the pizza here! We wanted a little bite to eat and a beer and there wasn't much open that wasn't a "family" (ie doesn't serve beer) restaurant or breakfast/cafe. This place is in a very touristy part of town that I am sure is nuts in season. We got a pepperoni pizza and a few beers. Their beer selection isn't great right now but I think that is because it is the off season. The pizza came out quick and is the super greasy kind with the non stringy cheese - if you eat enough pizza you know what I mean.
