A nice break from all the starches and carbs at so many other restaurants in town. Nice waitress. Decor not high end, but interesting and inviting, warm stove. Cashew Chicken had lots of veggies. Broccoli was perfect in the Broccoli Beef (not practically raw like some cooks prepare). Veggie egg rolls were yummy, crisp but not greasy. No hot tea nor desserts, but hot tea will apparently come back with winter menu. We'll be back. read more

The lady at the register was super nice. Because of Covid restrictions, I was given a menu and asked to call the order in. Ordered Sesame Chicken, Sweet and Sour Chicken, Kung Pao Cabbage, spring rolls and pot stickers with sides of white rice and fried rice. White rice was fairly dry and looked like minute rice. Fried rice had no flavor. Sesame chicken had soggy breading and a teriyaki sauce with burned sesame seeds sprinkled on top. The sweet and sour chicken tasted like it had been defrosted with cheap store-bought sauce poured in. Stale tasting. The pot stickers were probably the best part but also tasted reheated and probably from a frozen bag. This meal was pretty awful. I've had much better from the grocery store. In short- stale tasting, over salted, bad recipes, unauthentic. This place needs a menu refresh and better training in the kitchen. read more

My family and I were on vacation and took a chance on this restaurant once we walked in the door we were told "no bye" before even getting the chance to sit down. There is no explanation for that type of rude service despite the large party size of 15 people, even though before showing up we were told our party size could be accommodated over the phone. This is the worst experience and most rude employees I have ever seen in my life. I am more than happy to take my money elsewhere and you should too. read more

I know the reviews for this restaurant aren't all good but we had a great experience.. the food was good, vegetarian options were good. My boyfriend had the Kung pao chicken and liked it.. he said it wasn't overly saucy and it was seasoned well. Very fresh ingredients. We did takeout which was fast and friendly. read more

Yelp reviewers of Mammoth eateries seem to have a beef when there is an ethnic restaurant run by people who are not of that ethnicity. Case in point is Wok N Rolls and Thai'd Up. I've read reviews commenting on that fact and I just don't get it. I'm Asian but that doesn't mean I can't make a mean scampi primavera. First of all... it's Mammoth. If you are new to Mammoth, you won't know what I am talking about. If you are a local or have been coming here for years, you know exactly what I mean. Sometimes, the quality of food and service suffers in a mountain town. Why? Probably because of the low population (and consequently small pool from which to get and keep quality talent). There are 4.5 star dining experiences to be had in Mammoth (think Nevado's, Petra, and Skadi). But generally, it's fairly difficult to find a REALLY amazing ethnic restaurant. In my opinion, Wok N Rolls does a decent job for being the only game in town for Chinese food. True, it's run by local Hispanic people. So what? The food is pretty good, as long as you keep your expectations in check. I liked their Chinese coleslaw (which is given free as a starter). I've had better egg drop soup. My entree (sesame chicken) was delicious. And the price of my dinner??? $8.00! Wok N Rolls has only been open for a year but I hope they will succeed! :) read more

Should of read the reviews first. I ordered take out. Absolutely awful. I honestly not sure I could even call this food, as it certainly was not edible. It's congealed goop at its finest. We ordered Sweet & Sour Chicken....it was some sort of goey protein. I've had better minute rice. And the orange beef had a rubber consistency and zero taste. All of this was throw away in the trash. The Orange Chicken was mushy. The flavor was good, really good, the service was prompt, the decor was ... Chinesey. But the Orange Chicken was mushy! Bad mushy too, like bread pudding. Limp, spongy, saucy, ex-fired, bread pudding. Gag. Now I'm not one to be put off by texture, I prefer my food to come with a shovel for rapid copious consumption. But this stuff was distracting. We saw mixed reviews for this place and wanted to give it a try. We were staying for the weekend and craving chinese. We ordered egg drop soup and chicken broccoli. We opened the egg drop soup and it smelled like it was rotten, we didn't risk even tasting it. The chicken broccoli was very salty and bland. It came with a side of fried rice which was also bland. Fried rice should have some scrambled egg and this one had none. The rice was gooey and the vegetables (the little it had) tasted dry. It may be that we are from L.A where we have endless options but we really were hoping it would be good. read more

So we decided on take out & got 2 fried rice orders, 2 chow mein orders, an order of their Kung pao chicken & some beef & brocolli. She seemed to get irritated at the questions I would ask her about the menu replying with "omg let me know when you guys are ready". Took our order & we were told to come back in 10-15 min. Got back & there were people dining in. Weird. Checked our food & the fried rice was missing. Thank god we didn't leave without making sure all of our order was there. Pretty disappointed with the food here, but then again did not expect much from a place called Wok N Rolls. I ordered the chicken chow mein which was near soggy, and reminisced thick pool noodles. The orange chicken came stuck together in a conjoined mess, and lacked the orange. The fried rice was okay, but was again, very flavorless and sad. I saw a lot of negative reviews on here so I decided to investigate. All I can say is: don't believe the hype. It's pretty decent but then again, it depends what your standards are. If you're expecting an authentic dish comparable to something from China Town in San Fran, you played yourself. I looked at a Chinese place named "wok and rolls" and pretty much expected Chinese-American dishes.. and they're good for that. It's a really small town and a good ways from a big city, so get yourself good ol orange chicken and call it a day. I had the hot and spicy shrimp and it was pretty good. Service was quick. I have been wanting to try Wok N Rolls for a while now, since Mammoth doesn't have any reasonable Chinese food. I was pleasantly surprised eating here. The prices were better than expected with the lunch special. The place is ran by a hispanics, complete with Corona bottle poster in the kitchen. The food was pretty good, although not the best or most authentic Chinese food ive had, but way better than the other Chinese place in town.
