This is my second time coming here and both times were a great experience. The greeters, waiters, and bartenders are always very nice, welcoming, and knowledgeable. Every time I come I get the Smoked Salt Margarita, it's very delicious, we try to get there before 6pm on a weekday for their happy hour drink specials. Food wise, I'm a huge fan of their "Burnt Ends and Waffles" entree and the "Smokehouse Mac" signature entree. Their Roasted Brussels Sprouts and spicy green beans sides are also very great! I've had a lot (make that a whole lot) of brisket in my days. More than I care to admit. And there's no way that was fatty brisket. There was not a lick of fat on there and it was actually very tough and dry. Like what I would imagine the sole of my shoe taste like. This is the second brisket I've tried in Memphis (the other being Corky's) and I've not been impressed at all with either place. Granted Corky's was worse. But not by much. There were a dozen of us this time, and not a one liked it. We actually had two different groups place two separate orders at different pickup times, and we both got the same quality brisket. I think what may have happened was they ran out of fatty brisket so they just replaced it with lean brisket without telling us. Idk. But even if that's what happened, it was just too dry and tough for even lean brisket. I've never seen brisket go to waste, until that meal. Well, actually the dog ate the leftover brisket and I think he liked it. Hey, is that why it's called "wolf" brisket? Haha. Jk. Well, it's kinda funny but not really, cuz we dropped a lot of money there for food gone to waste. We were disappointed given all the great reviews which is why we chose the place. As for the rest of the food, the Mac and cheese was good. Chips were good too. I liked their take on coleslaw. Succotash was not bad - first time I've had it. Looked like beans mixed with corn. Waffle corn bread tasted like corn bread in the shape of a waffle. Nice spin. Oh and the burnt ends were pretty good. Smaller portion though, but good. FYI - the sauce on the burnt ends is kinda sweet, if you don't like sweet. We were really impressed by the photos of the giant pretzels online. But our pretzels all came all broken up in pieces to fit into their to go box I guess. Not impressed with that design/concept. Would've been great if they could've put it in a grocery bag or something to maintain it's impressive shape. Or at least given us the option to keep the original shape in tact. Just a thought. I mean, that's why you get it right? So much for the photo ops. Otherwise it's really just like pretzel bits, which we could've ordered anywhere. Was not impressed with the accompanying beer cheese either. Was hoping for something interesting, but it lacked flavor and I did not care for the somewhat gritty texture of it either. Stuck with the mustard instead. Looked like nice ambiance inside the restaurant. Lots of customers too. So I'm probably in the minority or else our group got a couple of bad orders. Was in Memphis for the weekend for a wedding and stopped in for quick bite before heading to the festivities. The lunch ambience was really nice and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful! Ordered the sliced brisket platter with coleslaw and mixed beans/veggies as the sides. Also got an order of the brisket nachos as those came highly recommended. I'll give the brisket 3/5 stars. Even the fattier cuts of meat were a little dry and the sides were somewhat underwhelming. This being my first time having Memphis BBQ I was excited to see how it fared compared to other cities but was a little underwhelmed as the sauce couldn't save the meal. For the brisket nachos, I'll go with 3.5/5 stars. They were super delicious but for an item being billed as "brisket" nachos, there was barely any brisket on there. In fact, I might have been able to count all of the small, chopped brisket pieces using the fingers on both my hands. Again, delicious nachos overall but more brisket would've been nice. Overall, I still had a good time at the restaurant and a lot of that was due to the atmosphere and friendly experience with the staff. First visit was on a Saturday night. Short wait, apparently they don't take reservations but you can put your name on the list. It is a small location, but I actually like that. The tables are like sitting in a booth/bench swinging your legs..they sit high. Open kitchen which I like, and I had a view of the young lady making waffle cornbread. Which you must try. The brisket I ordered was mixed (lean and fatty)and really good. This was my first time eating brisket, so I can't compare it to anything, but this was really good. Tender and can cut with a fork. Spicy green beans and smashed potatoes were also good. We ordered pimiento cheese dip for the table and it was a hit with everyone. Our waiter was very attentive and orders came out right. It took some time to get the meal, but it didn't seem to bother anyone in my party. The drinking situation, they have something for everyone and if not..welp choose something else lol. I told four ppl about my visit and the food, hoping they will be interested in trying it out. I believe our waiter was Jonathan, he was really nice, patient, and explained the cooking process of getting tender brisket and where it's located on the animal. Came here for lunch with my brother. Took 2 and a half hours. Service was absolutely terrible. Took forever, asked multiple people for napkins and ranch multiple times. Waitress never came with them. I had to get paper towels from the bathroom to use as a napkin. Manager and all waitresses were sassy, rude, and unprofessional. They spent more time complaining about customers and joking around than taking care of the restaurant. Check took an hour to come. I stoped by this place for lunch while I was in Memphis for work. The resultant was clean and the staff were really friendly and nice. I ordered the burnt ends but had questions about the sides. First I was trying to figure out what in the world were baked cheese grits. The waiter explained that it was kind of like a grit loaf. It sounded interesting so I had to try it. I then asked about the sweet turnip greens. Now in all my years of living I have only had sweet greens once and that was because someone had put sugar in the instead of salt. If you could only see my face when he was telling me about them. I then ordered them just to see how good/bad they would be. The burnt ends were great! What you expect for burnt ends. The baked cheese grits were better then I expected. It was like a baked cheese polenta! I wanted to added some more cheese on top to just set it off. Overall very good experience at the restaurant. The barbecue chicken was spot on. The brisket was very good, but had better ones. My favorite was the smoked wings appetizer. Really different and and great way to serve wings. I didn't get what was going on with the smashed potato, for me, it was the texture that needed some attention. Great staff and service. The food and atmosphere here is fantastic! It's conveniently located in the strip center near Wolf River and Houston Levee. I really like the exposed rafters and homey feel once inside. The menu is southern-eclectic with a good mix of familiar flavors with a twist. Like pickled onions on the brisket or the idea of brisket & grits with fries onion strings. Service was great, but we were there when it was pretty much dead around 2. But the sever was very attentive and helpful. So many good things on the menu that I look forward to returning. read more

Got home from my travel nurse contract and ordered this last minute as something new. We normally order Baby Jacks. What a disappointment, as we sit here eating cereal after I paid 126$ for mine and my husbands meal that never came and my sons raw, smoked chicken coated with hair. My wife and I visited Wolf River Brisket Co (WRBC) today 04.12.2024. We were not disappointed. The brisket, was outstanding as was the smoked sausage and burnt ends. The taste of the food was excellent, the restaurant was clean and our server Tish was superb. She was polite and went above and beyond that of most servers we have encountered over the years. A new addition to the Collierville dining scene. My son and I came here on Cinco de Mayo, and they were having Margarita specials (natch), so I ordered one. It was rimmed with smoked sea salt and was one of the best margaritas I've had in quite some time. I ordered the brisket plate, non-lean, and it was good. There was quite a bit of fat on the brisket, which I would expect, however, there was something missing off the taste. It wasn't bad, it was just missing something. I've eaten Texas Brisket before, and perhaps my expectations were to experience that depth of flavor. All in all, it was a good meal, attentive service, and a great location. UPDATE: We came back and it was delicious. Everyone enjoyed their meal. I had the smoked chicken, the wife had the burnt ends, other couple had the chicken sandwich and the brisket. The cornbread was delicious, the maple butter didn't hurt ;). Glad we have it another chance. We'll be back. So, I know new restaurants go through an adjustment period, but we arrived at 5:30pm to find out they were out of several items on the menu. I had looked at the website and it said when they run out of brisket, they are done. So we sit down and order the cornbread appetizer. Our waiter tells us they are out of the maple butter, but we just ask for regular butter. He comes back and says they won't serve the cornbread without it, ok, whatever. We then order dinner, the wife orders the Burnt Ends plate with Brussels Sprouts and ba cheese grits. I then "try" to order the half chicken, but they are out of that as well. I then order the chicken sandwich, which is $1 less than a half chicken. I decide to pay extra for the cheese grits. Approximately 15 minutes later the waiter returns to tell us they were out of the grits as well. At that point we had enough and departed. Someone at the hostess stand said it had been a record day for their brisket, apparently it was for chicken and grits as well.
