    Lunch special Mongolian beef
    April A.

This place looks like it's been there for a long time. It's small, no much tables and not much parking. Staff is friendly and on top of it. Lunch specials and combos are such a great price and good size meals. Food was not bad for what you're paying it's pretty good. Lunch specials came with egg roll, soup, wonton, fried rice and entree. I got the sweet and sour chicken and my husband got the Mongolian beef. Mongolian beef had way more veggies than beef but i actually liked the flavors.

Tasty and such good prices. We ordered three lunch combos and they served soup as appetizers. My picky food eater kids ate so much food and gave the dishes a thumbs up Service is fast and food came very fast. Well run and efficient.

The hype is real. Great prices. Generous portions. Food was flavorful. Service was great. Ambiance is old Chinese restaurant, but im not there for ambiance. Im there for zodiac sign placements and good fried rice

    Sizzling rice soup

The kind of hole in the wall I love finding. This place has the most amazing sizzling rice soup I've ever had. It's a little out of the way but worth the trip. I plan on coming back anytime I'm in the area.

    bug in Chicken Chow Mein

My food had a cockroach in it. The food for starters wasn't really good, the portions are huge but the food itself taste like a frozen tv dinner (unfortunately we had already tried a bite of the food from the other boxes before finding the bug..) . The only good part was the sweet and sour that came with the egg roll which was probably store bought. This place looks super scary and ratchet but had pretty good reviews and I live downtown so I thought i'd give it a try... biggest mistake it was so dirty inside and out and the people were nice but just wanting to get us out the door. We get home and open our food to find A COCKROACH. I've never been so shocked in my life I honestly have never had something like this happen to me. NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE. SO GROSS. NOT WORTH IT. I have never reviewed anything so poorly and pray I never have to again. This sucked because not only did I pay for this and have to throw it out I then lost my appetite and had to buy something new for dinner later in the night. I should get a refund!!!!

It looks like a total "hole in the wall" but don't let that stop you from coming in. The staff is very friendly, and the food is great!! I was surprised by how many people were here when I walked in. The prices are very reasonable, and the portions were huge!!!

Large menu options and portions. Service always pleasant. We drive from east side of valley just to meet friends there.

They have complimentary parking in the front, side, and back of the restaurant. There aren't a ton of spots, but there's street parking close by too. Ambiance (3.5/5): Like most Chinese restaurants, China Chili is pretty no frills. Which isn't a problem for me at all, I'm there for the food. It's a spacious restaurant with both regular tables and circular tables that rotates (good for large groups sharing dishes). Service (4/5): Fantastic service is also not something I expect at a Chinese restaurant. Yet again, I'm there for the food. With that being said, service, while not overly friendly, is typically pretty efficient. Which I always appreciate. Drinks (4/5): Pretty much your standard soft drinks, tea, and a limited selection of alcoholic beverages. My favorite option is their buddha beer which you don't see in a lot of places. It's a lager and it's in a buddha-shaped bottle. It doesn't get much better than that. Food (5/5): The first time I came was for one of my favorite dishes... Peking duck. There aren't a ton of spots in Phoenix that have it, but out of the ones that do, China Chili serves it at a high level. You can go with either crepes or baos (additional surcharge). The duck is absolutely to die for. Flavorful, juicy meat with crispy skin that fits in perfectly into your mini "sandwich" with green onions and Hoisin sauce. For a reasonable price too. Their food outside of duck is of a similar quality. I especially like their flat noodles with beef. Even classic dishes like sesame chicken have a twist here. It's sliced chicken rather than fully breaded chicken. Just as good as the typical way, the sauce is delicious. My only complaint? They give you a pretty small helping of white rice with your dish. Outside of that, the portions are generous. Everything I've had at China Chili has been a hit. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

There aren't many places in Phoenix that serve duck this neatly like in my photo, and I appreciate that it's not another chain restaurant. Is it the best version of this dish I've ever had, no...but it can be a nice change from the usual options of beef, pork, shrimp, and chicken.

It came with some eggrolls because I didn't want the soup and it was really good flavor. Everything was perfect. The service was great. The only flaw there was one thing that went wrong, but I'm not even tripping. I ordered a Kung pow beef and I received the Kung pow shrimp. It's OK. It was so delicious, but I'm gonna have to come back and try that beef. I walked out feeling very satisfied. My stomach felt good. It felt like good ingredients and I only paid $14 and some change and I even got a Diet Coke. Definitely gonna come back for the lunch special because I love the spice. The flavor was really on point. One thing about me is that I love spice I go to specific spots just to eat the spice. Thanks you ; I am slowly disappointed that I didn't receive what I wanted, but it's all good. I wasn't going to say anything just cause like I didn't want the food to go to waste. I don't know who made the mistake but it's all good. I just wanted to point that out.

I spent over $50 on food, and the quality was extremely disappointing. The General Tso's chicken was basically nothing but breaded chicken pieces -- no vegetables and barely any sauce. The Orange Chicken was also dry and lacked sauce, making both dishes bland and unappetizing. To make matters worse, each entrée is supposed to come with rice, yet only a very small portion was provided. At this point, it feels like this restaurant is cutting corners and poorly managed. I'm generally not someone who leaves negative reviews, but the lack of care, consistency, and food quality is impossible to ignore. This was my last time giving this establishment my hard-earned money. I'd rather spend it somewhere that values its customers and takes pride in the food they serve.

It's probably the fanciest Chinese restaurant I've been to in AZ. The lunch menu is excellent and quite impressive! There are 8 entrees to choose along with a side for only $20. What's crazy is that a full size seafood and wagyu beef belly jjampong is a side! They're regularly $24 so it's a crazy deal to get an additional entree!! We ordered seafood jjampong and wagyu beef jjampong as sides and genghis khan beef and chili garlic fried chicken as mains. The jjampong had that great umami taste without the oiliness that's unavoidable at other restaurants. The ingredients felt very premium and fresh. Ghengis khan beef pieces were very generous and tender with a savory sauce. Chili garlic chicken was a tad salty for me but had great crisp. Service was impeccable and one you'd expect from an upscale restaurant. I can't wait to go back to try other dishes from the lunch menu. I also want to try their happy hour that's available everyday from 4-7PM. All the food items are only $7 and variety looks amazing.

The front entrance doesn't really match the size of the restaurant, though. It looks surprisingly small compared to how big the place is inside. The restaurant is decorated with lots of red, lanterns, and even a giant fortune cookie. The food is a mix of Chinese and Korean dishes, but it's definitely more Americanized Asian food. We ordered from their Lunch Combo Special. My friend got the Chili Garlic Fried Chicken and the Seafood Jjampong without shrimp because she's allergic to it. I got the Chili Garlic Shrimp with fried rice. When our server found out it was my friend's birthday, she told us we could choose a complimentary dessert from the menu, which was so nice! My friend picked the Glazed Sweet Potato with Lemon Sorbet. The lunch combos were huge. My friend was already so full after eating the jjampong that she had to take the chicken home. I really liked my shrimp and fried rice. They were so tasty that I finished everything! We also really enjoyed the Glazed Sweet Potato with Lemon Sorbet. The refreshing lemon sorbet paired perfectly with the sweet, warm glazed sweet potato. I try, I review, and I might come back again to try something else.

Gotta support local when you can I say! The menu is pretty basic and has all your typical options for Americanized Chinese food. Wanting to get something that had noodles in it, I opted for the combination #1 which has chow mein crispy noodles, pork fried rice, and two tempura shrimp. Quite a lot of food and for a very reasonable price! I think the combo was around $10. If you are a fan of bean sprouts, this is your place. The chow mein had a massive pile of beansprouts on top. The noodles were indeed crispy but they was such a meager portion compared to the beansprouts. The fried rice was pretty basic but also a generous portion and the two tempura shrimp had a nice crispy batter. I tried some of the eggroll too which is one of the most unique versions I've had since the super crispy outer layer was either a different preparation or different wrap material than I'm used to. The interior was made primarily of beansprouts too. Service was good. Our food was prepared fairly quickly.
