So my brother says that Wong's Chinese Dining is the best he's ever had so I...had to try. He ain't wrong. It's probably the most flavorful and best Chinese I have ever had as well. Ordered the large Won Ton soup and glad I did cuz a small bowl would have had me wanting. There is no wrapped won ton but instead everything floats in the broth and it is mesmerizing. Not too strong and every ingredient holds its own in flavor and the won ton noodles have a very cool, bouncy texture. The Garlic Shrimp and General Tso's Chicken were cliché dishes but bomb. The sauce: one word...wow. The joint is not located the best of Phoenix so you'll have to do one of two things...trust people or be strapped and wish a muthafukkah would. Just kidding. What an absolute wonderful find. I am considering moving to Phoenix just for this restaurant. . Good Chinese food is so hard to find where I live in Colorado. This place looked like a complete hole in the wall but we had a very limited time to eat, there was nowhere else around m, and we had to make it to the airport. I am so glad that we stopped here at Wongs. This place is hopping first of all, the locals were in and out nonstop. Service was fast friendly, and the food was delicious. Each of my dining companions had something different and we all enjoyed our food. My sister-in-law had chop Suey, which is impossible to get at most other restaurants. I had the egg foo Young, which was so tasty and very properly prepared. I asked for the sauce on the side, since I am carnivore/keto, and they easily accommodated me. No questions asked. The restaurant was very clean. It is on the small side, so better to go with a smaller party. But I can highly recommend this restaurant for delicious authentic food and very friendly service. Last Saturday July 20th I went and ordered a meal at Wong's Chinese Dining restaurant and while I started eating the meal I came across an item that looked out of place. As I looked closer I realized it was a band-aid, yes a band-aid!. Before I called the waitress I took a couple of pictures, then told her about it and walked away disgusted and in disbelief. Wow!!! Stopped here for a quick lunch after passing by many times in the past. So happy I finally made it in. I ordered the express combo #9 (General Tso's chicken extra spicy, pork fried rice/it's BBQ pork!, and an egg roll). Such an amazing value for a super tasty, well prepared meal. Been back twice since my last review and I have been pleased both times. Apparently my issue with their rice has been resolved by avoiding the lunch menu and focusing on the "special combos". My current go to is special combo 2, teriyaki chicken, chicken egg foo yung, pork fried rice and two crab puffs. The pork fried rice has eggs, bean sprouts and bbq pork, much better than the fried rice that comes in the lunch combos. The crab puffs are sweet and delicious and the portions of chicken and egg foo yung are plentiful. Great value for $11.00 and easily makes two meals. Busy at lunch time but the service is great and quick. Never had to wait more than 10-15 minutes for food. read more

I saw this joint while driving to Sonoran Tacos. I saw it and instantly thought it looked kinda scary. Which made me instantly think, I bet they're good! Looked up the reviews and that seemed to be the general consensus. Turned around and parked. I ended up ordering the Happy Family and it was delicious. I might say the best I've had. The only thing I would say, is that they could've gave a little more meat. But the taste was on point. The prices were great as well. I recently started working in Downtown. You can't go "Wong" with this restaurant! After flying to Phoenix from Minneapolis we got off the plane very hungry. We googled the nearest Asian restaurant and found Wong's. Don't let the exterior of the building tour tour you from going in. They have the absolute best food and wonderful service. Just know, you will be taking a box of food home with you, regardless of how hungry you are. The portion are super sized, but the prices are small. We paid $8.50 for a full combination dinner that we could not eat. Will be having dinner tomorrow night, too.This will always be our first stop when we 2/19/19 - another "home run" at Wong's! It came with egg drop soup. The style of cooking is a little different than what I am used to from places in the metro NYC area. The lobster sauce was brown and not white. Overall it was ok. My lunch mate ordered orange chicken. I tried a piece and it was outstanding! Bottom line: I will return. Don't be scared off by the look of the place. Friendly staff and good food at a great price. First of all, the food tastes amazing and is cooked really well. This would have been a 5 star review if not for a couple mistakes. If the other food hadn't been so dang good this would be 3 stars. We ordered take out at 7:45pm thinking they were open until 8:30 per Apple Maps. Found out while waiting for the food that they close at 8 so I felt bad for coming in right at the end of their night. I ordered an express combo #7 which was fantastic! My partner ordered the sesame chicken and also enjoyed it. I asked if the wonton soup had shrimp in it as I'm allergic and was told it could be made without shrimp so I ordered a small wonton soup. First mistake was charging me for a large soup, but rather than making him go through the refund process I said don't sweat it and rolled with the error. The food was ready pretty quickly and we took it home to eat since they were closing. Arrived home and pulled out the wonton soup and noticed right off the bat that there was a huge piece of shrimp in it. I'm super bummed because I love wonton soup and not many places have it without shrimp. We were referred to Wong's as the best Chinese in Phoenix and for what I was able to eat I would have to agree, but I'll just have to return to test the wonton soup! read more

Thus far the best Chinese food I've had to date. They were closed for awhile due to COVID-19 but they are now open for take out only. I really enjoy the Wongs Special Combo menu, it's budget friendly and very good! If you ever stop by you must try the boneless spare ribs #11 and express combo # 2 which are currently my favorites. The Wor won tong soup has alot of vegetables which I appreciate. Last but not least, I always bring family here when they come to the valley for a nice treat. Excellent, and unexpected. A hidden gem. I'm in Phoenix on business for a couple days (near the convention center and ballpark), so I Googled "Chinese food" and this place has good reviews, fair prices (below market, actually), and was nearby. So I drove there for take-out. When you pull up, the exterior makes it look like a hole in the wall. (Not necessarily a bad thing in my experience, because I've had better Chinese food at obscure places than some of the nicer and more expensive restaurants. But judging by the exterior, you just don't know what awaits you inside.) Surprisingly, it was really cute inside. I wish the wife and kids were with me, because it looks like a nice place to have a family sit-down meal in a smaller place that may not be known by a lot of people. If it matters to you for authenticity or experience sake, the people working there seem LEGIT Chinese. They were very friendly with the greetings, and the menu was very impressive. All of the regulars that we want at our American-taste-influenced Chinese restaurants, but also MANY dishes that I'd never come across before, and that actually sounded delicious. The prices were lower than I expected, especially in this era of hyper-inflation, where my local Mexican food joint is charging $12 for a burrito that they were selling for $8 in 2020. They packaged the take-out really professionally (sealed, nice containers; no leakage in the car). And the food was really good. The General Tao's chicken had a spicier sauce then you get at most places, and it was perfect. As was the sesame chicken. Overall, a positive experience, and I'll likely return if I'm in downtown Phoenix again. read more
