Beef with Szechwan Sauce had tender sliced beef in a hot, spicy garlic-style sauce but it was not at all spicy as expected even though menu had specific option to choose spic level. Menu prices around $15-19 depending on portion. It fits the bold, spicy stir-fry category alongside other Szechuan-style items like chicken versions. Hot Spicy Crispy Orange Chicken was crispy fried chicken chunks in a hot, spicy orange sauce, sweet-citrusy with a kick. This one surely got the right flavors, throughly enjoyable dish. Chicken was crispy and better than some chain versions. Lastly the Vegetable Fried Rice, Egg and veggies including onions, bean sprouts, peas and cabbage. Many entrees come with rice options (steamed or fried) and sides like spring rolls or soup. I ordered the lunch special & got fried rice with it, which came loaded with MEAT in the fried rice. I also requested NO SOUP & a small salad be substituted instead or soup be eliminated completely & got a bowl of chicken soup, which I can't eat, since it's got chicken broth. I miss the family that owned Wong's Kitchen. Their restaurant was filled with the delicious aroma of their food, and a warm, inviting atmosphere was felt by every guest. I remember it being busy since the early 70s, and my grandfather would take his children and my mom there during the 50s and 60s. It was a family-run establishment, with multiple generations working together. Sadly, it was sold, and although the new owners retained the name, they couldn't match the original food quality and exceptional service. I hope they see this review and consider rebuilding what made Wong's Kitchen special, as they have a large community nearby that could support a loyal, heartfelt restaurant like the Wong family's. If they are unwilling to improve, I suggest changing the restaurant's name, as it no longer lives up to its legacy. read more

Terrible experience. My family and I paid almost $80 for just 3 regular dishes, one small side and drinks. Way too expensive for the quality. The food tasted reheated, like it had been sitting around for a while. The ribs and other dishes tasted old. The place looks very run-down, almost like a rat hole, and the bathrooms were very dirty. The service was terrible. They asked us to pay while we were still eating, and at 8:30 pm they were already rushing us out, even though it says they close at 9. The meat is tender and soft. Definitely, worth a try. The price is good and is worth every penny for the food that you get. After you order your food, it takes about 10-15 minutes. Super fast! Wong had the best Chinese food in the valley since they were across the street from a p.m. gas station with only two tables an continue their legacy in this new place but the last 3 years I've ordered has been the worse ever the flavor is not there anymore the chow mein had no veggies at all and hardly had any meat. it was only noodle and the beef and broccoli the sauce was way too thick and the shrimp fried rice had 3 shrimp for the whole order !!! I recently found one of the old menus in a drawer and just cried knowing that the Cantonese comfort food I grew up on is long gone. There's just nothing that reflects the over 40 years of grandmas cooking and quality that came with it. No one asked/asks for fusion recipes in this neighborhood. We want the constant that we all could pick out blindfolded from a dozen other local joints; that's how much this food was a part of us. I don't expect the prices to be a good as they were but I sure expect the taste, flavors and quality to be the same if you're gonna bite off that Family name! Depressing! I would suggest being humble and asking the Wong family for the old recipes and cook them proper and you might be as beloved as the 'old Wongs' was and have those weekend 2 hour wait times for pickup. We didn't even mind back in the day when you would order over the phone and it could be an hour/45 minute wait! I doubt they have such happy problems these days. They didn't ask to replace it with something else they just said I made the mistake and ordered wrong, which I think is dumb because a customer knows what they order. Anyways disappointed with my 2 out of four plates. My wonton soup was a joke because the wonton's were all paper and no meat in them.
