I intentionally looked for a Cantonese food restaurant. And, I read that some folks are upset that progress made a few changes; Covid requires us to adapt. With that said... I ordered beef and peas along with mixed meat fried rice. Food was very enjoyable. Nice flavors and ingredients above and beyond that what you'd find when grabbing a #2 combo at the local mandarine spot. As for the ambience. I was pleasantly greeted by the dark haired lady with a very happy & bright demeanor. She was attentive. I ordered and she had my order ready almost within 5 minutes. I did notice a couple came in after me, I suspect it was their first time too. They had a bit of trouble determining if they were going to order in or take the meal to go. After they decided to take out the meal they attempted to pay with a credit card (like I did). However, they didn't get the same lady I did. They got a blonde lady that got a bit pushy trying to get them to pay cash. After they were a bit embarrassed by the rejection the woman said she could make an exception this time. To which the couple said they'd remember for next time. But, I suspect they won't be back. It's sad, because if they got the same lady I did their first impression would have been lovely. Hopefully, everyone gets to interact with the same lady I did and many more patrons appreciate the flavors Wong's has; there are not many places like this left around. DISAPPOINTING! Pork fried rice was LITE on the pork. Mongolian beef was boiled beef. This happens when wok temperature is not hot enough. Beef had no sign of crust which is flavor! I will no longer take out food because these issues could have been avoided by returning items to the kitchen to correct the mistakes. I have frequented this kitchen many times. Maybe the new ownership is lacking in quality control. This is no longer worth my time & money. I will not return. read more

Went there to eat with my kids. Portion size is very good. Beef with broccoli was fantastic and so was fried rice and chowmein. They did raise their prices but it's definitely in my top 10 of Chinese places in the valley. read more

We tried Wong's Kitchen for lunch today, after high praise from a couple of my wife's friends. And the verdict? Highly disappointing. No problem with the staff which we found to be friendly. Although the very aged lady which I presume was the proprietor, seemed very taken by the new baby of one couple that appeared to be regulars. She then slowly made her way over to the two gentlemen seated at the booth directly across from us, giving them a cordial greeting. After which she totally ignored us in passing, and greeted the next table behind us. No worries though, we won't be coming back anyway. Talk about bland Chinese cuisine! Meh!!! The only thing that stood out here were the complimentary crunchy noodles appetizer, and the oolong tea. But our orders of Vegetable Chop Suey, Chicken Egg Foo Young, Lemon Chicken, and Chicken With Black Beans left much to be desired. Decent pricing and portion sizes aside. Even something as simple as Steamed Rice was dry and off point, something I've rarely experienced at an Asian restaurant. My wife considers my 2 Star rating a bit generous. Haven't been here in YEARS. My family and this place go wayyyyy back- I'm talking the 70's. I'm not a big fan of Chinese but there's some nostalgic feeling of comfort I get when eating at Wong's Kitchen. I remember coming here all the time as a kid and today I had a nice dinner with my parents as an adult. They've been around for over 40 years. The owner, a now very old woman always recognizes my family when we come in even if we go a couple of years without coming. Her kids, who run the place are always so nice. The food is just as I remembered, as well as the hot tea and crispy noodles which we call churritos. (If you don't put those in the soup you aint real) My favorite dish here is the spicy diced chicken and peanuts and their fried rice. The seafood soup is amazing, another favorite of mine. I love adding the chili paste to my rice for a nice kick. And at the end a fortune cookie or even better a Chinese almond cookie that crumbles in your mouth after a single bite. We got: *Pork chop with spicy salt - not too fatty like some other places I've tried. Warning!!!! Do not go ! You will get your card information stolen by employees. We attempted to resolve it with the restaurant and they are no help, they told us "we cannot go back to the date and time" they are the only ones that handle our card. They were able to get sophisticated and create a chip with the card information . Wells Fargo of course with recent fraud cases decides to not give us refund, because it's considered authorized because of the use of the chip. Our statement clearly says we were close to the location. But like I said do not go!!! They will steal your information. No one in the restaurant could help us. read more

Wongs used to be a valley go to for great Chinese food - because of the homemade sauces. You'll notice that the place has been remodeled (which was needed) but also that it's under new ownership. The sweet and sour chicken, orange chicken, kung pao chicken, and mangolian beef that we ordered were very different than what we remembered from a few years back. I asked if this is under new ownership and the staff said yes. They kept the name, but not the from scratch sauces that make American Chinese food so tasty. The sauces tasted store bought and not worth the cost of dining here. I'm writing this review because many in the valley remember this place; save yourself from disappointed and your hard earned money. Go to another Chinese restaurant! Hopefully one with sauces that are scratch made. 3 stars because - it's decently clean, food came out fairly quickly, and the price is still about $9 per plate. read more

Really upgraded everything. I am impressed. Must be under new management or something. Everything is cooked to perfection and delivered without the attitude if your tip isn't big enough, unlike before. Ordered a few times after getting the new menu in my mailbox last week just to see if they've changed. The prices are still great, but now the food and service and presentation have improved. Ordered chicken chow mein and shrimp kung pao. Both came very shortly and appeared as expected. Upon tasting both, I couldn't help but spit it out. Both meats tasted old and the rice was extremely dry and had no flavor even with adding lemon and chile. Not to mention the chile dispenser was extremely dirty and sticky to the touch. My family and extended family have been coming to Wongs since the 1980s. I was in womb when I got the first taste tbh. I grew up on egg flower soup and even when my family moved and hour and half away, we would make the trip down just to eat here and catch up with ma. But everything changed after the new managers took over.... The price increase and changes in the food taste/quality. You can tell they changed recipes and probably chefs because this isn't wongs food I grew up with. It's really heartbreaking when I order the usual and it's tastes nothing like it used to. I tried to give the new recipes a chance but it was just plain disappointment and sadness. Great neighborhood Chinese Restaurant. The shoo got revamped and looks great! Nice open concept with booths and table seating. The servers are very nice and personable. They didn't make my wife and I feel rushed at all while ordering or eating. We ordered the Wonton Soup and Hot and Sour Soup with Szechuan Tofu plate. According to my wife, the new management stepped up their game in the kitchen. She's been coming here for more than 25 years. Not a bad place at all if you want a quick Chinese fix. Tried their crispy pork chop, all I can say is it wasn't crispy. It's more like soft but the seasoning is good. Not too salty not too spicy. Wouldn't order their beef with young corn. The beef was chewy, lacking seasoning. They delivered pretty quickly. The delivery person doesn't know how to follow instructions. Specifically said to leave food in front of door for no contact delivery, guy kept ringing doorbell. Thank goodness for ring doorbells can talk to them via ring.
