Been a dozen times in 4 years. Has always had the horrendous smell upon entry. We chalk it up to seafood. At least we hoped. First two years we got the nasty looks from angry staff when we dared use the coupon that initially brought us there to try it. We have only been 3 times after covid times, staff still miserable. Hard to eat, feeling guilty 'are they forced to be there?' One nice male server this past weekend. Every other staff, ALWAYS female hostess, super bitter like she is doing you a favor. We return for the variety :( but past few years, pretty decor is now layered in funk. Hanging lights, walls, under tables, windows, ick. Food has always been generic buffet, ok taste, we go for variety. But yes, temps are never hot. I try to dig to the bottom for warm food. Would never trust cold food, any seafood buffet. We chuckle at the gamble people take with raw fish that has sat out for hours. If you like sushi, go get real sushi made to order at a sushi restaurant. The last time I had vibes like this, even after our last place shut down 3 times in 18 months for 'remodeling' we kept going, only to finally go on maricopa health services inspector sight. We found out why I 'imagined' things crawling on my feet under table. :/ not woochi, but another place finally closed down. Bottom line, if something seems off, follow your instincts. Look the place up, frequently. Save your trouble and $. Find another place. Though i do love a couple of woochi items, they need a full, heavy and frequent sanitization. Word of owners advice- figure out if that sushi bar brings in that much revenue. It might be costing you more customers than its worth (smell?) When I have gone here, I wonder if the staff is laughing in back knowing what we are actually eating. I visited this buffet on November 11 this year and it was not that good. My booth needed cleaning, floors were dirty and I wish that I would have noticed it before I started eating. Food was just ok. Food just was not very good. I would not recommend this place nor will I return. I wish that it was good because I live very close to it. The egg rolls were pretty good but what am I going to do, pay $16 for a bunch of egg rolls. There really was nothing else to say that it was pretty good. They should close down and clean the place a little better. Before you go up and start eating, look around the place to see if it's clean. I love this place. It's clean, they have different varieties of sushi, regular American food, deserts, salads. They recheck their food and replenish it for you. Prices are very decent for a buffet. Chinese buffets are typically mediocre, but do the job if you're looking for variety and value. This place exceeded my expectations. All the food, with one exception, was super fresh. The coconut shrimp, mongolian pork, and seafood delight were especially tasty. The eggrolls were above average, as were the cheese ragoons. The service was excellent! Many times at buffets you hardly see your server, but my server was very attentive, kept my water glass filled, and was friendly. Next time I'm in the area, I'm definitely coming back. read more

I'm a sushi lover and for my birthday son had it delivered via Uber eats . It had been two years at least since I had any (grocery store sushi doesn't count ) and it really was delicious! From his call to my stomach 25 minutes . The wasabi was very good and I had salmon, cali rolls and tuna all was terrific and will get my business again! We paid them a visit on Sunday 10/17 and found the following. I know you pay more for the buffet on a weekend / dinner but to charge full price and then limit the crab legs, bull fucking shit. If you " LIMIT " anything then it is not a buffet and you need to reduce the price. The crab legs were not " steamed " but " boiled " and totally water logged, soft / mushy, and small / thin as hell. The so called " steam tables " were luke warm and most of the food was NOT at the correct holding temperature, this was reported to county health on Monday 10/18 for inspection and follow up. The bathrooms are " FILTHY " to the max, so much dust and dirt on the fixtures that you can write in the filth. Outside the back door the trash and empty cartons were piled waist high, and the dumpster is just a short walk away. The was a nice place to eat at, but in the last year it has become a useless fucking dump, take your business else where. read more

The food was alright, just the same as every other Chinese buffet. And of course, they have their dinner prices; which you would HAVE to pay even if you don't eat the crab legs, ect. I FOUND A NEW HOME! (Buffett that is). Ever since a certain Buffett in Tempe closed down, (Yeah, I know. CRAZY right?) I've been looking for a new place for the Crab Leg Foodies to hang out. There's lots of seafood and Chinese Buffetts around but none seemed to fit the bill. Tonight, I came across WooChi Chinese Buffett in East Mesa. It's about 40 minutes east of sky harbor airport so a bit of a ride for all the non-east valley folks but you'll save enough on dinner to pay for the gas! First. It doesn't smell fishy when you walk in. That's pretty amazing with all the shellfish and sushi being served. Just goes to show you what good ventilation and a clean restaurant can do. Second, the flavors are good. Pretty typical for Chinese style buffets but there's a good sized variety and it's fresh. Anything more exotic, go to a restaurant not a buffett. Third. As I mentioned, the price is great. They gave me a veterans/military discount so with soda and hot tea, it was less than $17. This was on the weekend!! Lastly, they also have a take out. Prices vary depending on what you get, with crab legs, oysters and steak being a bit more expensive. But truly, at $9.99 a pound for crab legs, it would be worth it to get 2 or 3 pounds. I wanted to try a new Chinese buffet and wasn't pleased at all. Food was bland and some of it was room temperature. There was also a cockroach exploring our booth. Lets just say my children screamed when it crawled up the booth seat. We will never go back! We showed an employee the roach and all they did was kill it. I could have done that myself! This is my new favorite all you can eat buffet. Great selection of sushi. All kinds of other delightful entrées including bacon wrapped shrimp. The restaurant itself is very lovely, even the bathrooms are nice. There is a little bit of communication difficulty with the staff but we got through it. They also have very reasonable prices for to go food. You can top off your meal with six different choices of ice cream ,maybe it was even eight. The restaurant was clean and well lit, they are practicing social distancing and require you to wear masks and gloves when at the buffet line. I will definitely returning to WooChi read more

It has been a couple of years since we have eaten here. Never again! The Woo Chi used to have pretty decent food, but the quality has plummeted below the acceptable level. Hot food was tepid at best while the cold food was just below room temp. The coldest thing in the whole place was the staff. All of the table condiments had a built-up thick layer of mystery scuzz covering everything. Tasteless, bland, and probably unsafe to eat food. We couldn't wait to haul ass out of there. Have driven by this place many times, not giving it a 2nd glance, but had our daughter in town so we thought we'd go check it out. We went for a very early dinner but I forgot which day it was , Fri or Sat, and it was full, but not overly crowded. I have to say I was amazed at the quality of food there. Many choices and I'd have to say their food is on par with the best Chinese takeout or sit down type of restaurant. Everything was clean, and no food was slopped anywhere so they stay on things quickly. Food was very fresh, not mushy like other Chinese buffets. I tried to sample as many items as I could and didn't find anything I didn't like. The only thing I didn't try were any of the desserts or salads - stuck to the Core Chinese food items. The quality of the this place has declined quite a bit since the first opened. The crab legs tray is not filled with any frequency, and sometimes not at all. This is unfortunate because it empties within seconds, often by one or two people who hoard them leaving nearly nothing for everyone else. This is a problem that the staff does nothing about. The sushi selection is not as extensive as it first was when they opened. They used to make fresh and tasty sushi at first but not anymore. They still have clams, raw oysters, mussels and fried crab, plus the usual mediocre tasting buffet food. For me, without the appeal of good, fresh sushi or an abundance of crab legs, it's just another mediocre buffet. read more
