My wife & I decided to try something new for breakfast... I really wish we hadn't bothered. I ordered the chicken fried steak while my wife had a bacon omelette. My steak was so tough I could barely cut it with a steak knife but, if eating gravy-covered gristle is your thing, then this meal will be right up your alley. My wife's omelette was charred on the outside, runny on the inside, and the few pieces of bacon we found were undercooked, almost raw; her toast was burnt and our sodas were watered down. To top things off, during the entire meal, a gentleman behind the counter was playing with some sort of device which was loud and very unpleasant on the ears. We mentioned this to the server and she just smiled and said that "He's the owner," then walked away. Owner? Really?? Are you kidding me??? What are you Five???? But then again, this would explain why the food tasted like it came straight out of an Easy-Bake oven. The "Owner's" time would have been much better spent insuring that his customers had quality food served in a relaxing environment instead of going out of his way to annoy his clientele. I would highly recommend Ballard Street Cafe in Wylie instead, it's a little farther out but well worth the drive unless you're looking for a weight-loss program and then by all means eat at the Woodbridge Cafe. We recently moved to Sachse and this is the first time eating at the a Woodbridge Cafe. The family and I were very happy with the food here. I ordered a salad and asked for avocado instead of chicken since I'm vegetarian. A man, who appeared to be the owner, came out and apologized because they were out of avocado. He must have run out real quick and got some more, because he showed up with a bowl of avocado shortly after I got my salad. He went out of his way to make sure I had what I had wanted. What a great place, just found it on yelp and liked the reviews so we were hungry and we were not disappointed! We had the meat lovers skillet breakfast with hot soft biscuits and butter, it was so great! They don't skimp on the ingredients. We also had the bacon cheeseburger on toasted bun medium rare, it was perfect! The bacon was perfect, not overcooked. A rare combination of great breakfast and burgers, plus a lot more and we really liked the food and service. The prices are very fair. I am a total fan of Woodbridge Cafe! If you want breakfast, this is the spot! It is tucked away kind of out of site in a plaza but has ample parking. Food comes out in big portions. Convenient location but ... nothing special really (breakfast) and while omeletes are made with 3 eggs, most other dishes are with 1 or 2 eggs only. Price is average (not low). Service (mid-Sat) was ok and attentive but, perhaps I expect too much?- No pre-bussing (even the little stuff you set at the edge of the table, as a hint!) yet the 1-2 people clearing the tables work hard! And the staff would rather stand around and chat, not grab a broom and try to get all the stuff off the floor. (tables and chairs clean, by the buss staff; floor dirty!) This is a great local diner and they do a really good business. I found that they have a huge take out business that seems to slow down the process to get food, but the food is good and service is good as well. If they could balance it a little better I'd give 5 stars as it took 20 min for our waitress to take our orders. read more

I've heard a lot about Woodbridge Café, so I thought I would give it a shot. The sit down time was very fast. There was only maybe six tables taken at the time. Server was at my table right away. First thing silverware was dirty. I asked for another, she brought me another Set and rolled it and it was dirty as well. So I just wiped it down myself with a paper towel. Was looking forward to their biscuits and gravy. I asked for the sausage gravy came with white gravy with sausage. Bits sprinkled over the top. Wasn't a fan of that And the biscuits were as flat as my ex girlfriend. So I wouldn't recommend the biscuits and gravy but the hashbrowns are crispy. The bacon was see-through. Eggs were good ordered over easy that's how they came so from 1 to 10 I would give it a 2. I probably won't be back. read more

My cousin got the very berry crepes she said the crepes were pretty thick, usually they are thin. They needed condensed milk instead of syrup. I got the banana Nutella crepes, and I agree that they were thick (sorry for no picture to reference), I felt like I was eating folded pancakes, the Nutella was okay on top of my crepes but for some reason I felt like they could have been better. After sending the spawnling off to a Jazz Festival in Denton, it was time for a little mommy/daddy breakfast. New place, good reviews, why not? We both had Veggie Skillets and they were good but they were just a few minutes away from being mouthtastic™. The onion was just translucent but still way too crisp as well as the green pepper. This is not a topping for a Mexican dish or a salad. Cook that veg thoroughly! The spinach was perfect and that was the problem. Cooking spinach to a bright green tastiness is not enough time for other veg to cook. The eggs were sunny-side up for both and barely broke the horizon. They were a tad runny. Better over than shooting my gizzards out later, right? And not a lick of seasoning in either. Which is actually okay. I like controlling my pepper and hot sauce. But if the veg would have been cooked more and released some of those lovely juices, less condiment-aid would have been needed. Yes, all this is picky. But it's my breakfast so nyah. Honest feedback is always best and we go out because sometimes I want to pay someone else to deal with meticulous perfection. We will definitely be back with the hell-spawn because in the end, it was good and I want to see if it can be great. Okay, and they gave me a coffee to go. What a gem this place is! I was home in Sachse visiting my mom. On my last day there, I had a late flight, so we wanted to grab some breakfast. I looked on Yelp and found this place. My mom said she comes here all the time, her and my late father used to Sat morning date day there. So it was a nice place to take her. When we arrived they are pretty busy, but they got us a table with no wait. There is an old café diner vibe about the place. Don't let the décor speak for it, because the food does all of the talking. I will say, I was disappointed that the sweet tea tasted gross BUT holy moly my chocolate chip and banana pancakes were AMAZING!! Our waitress Kaleigh ( I know I probably spelled that wrong, but I didn't call you Kelly :)) Seemed really sweet. She seemed a bit in the weeds but I was there to chat with my mom anyways, since I live in Virginia, so the extra time was ok. I would recommend to her to work smarter, not harder. When we asked for the check, we asked for a to go box and bag. She came back with the check and box, but no bag. So when my mom, in her kind nature, reminded her of the bag, she kinda snapped back in a way that I wasn't ok with. If someone asks for 3 things, bring them in the same trip. However, I can see how this place was one of my parent's favorites to go together. I will definitely be back next time I am in town to try some other things that looked amazing on the menu. Delicious homemade breakfast on our Sunday morning visit. We were disappointed in the time it took to for a server to notice we were there. Several looked at us but no one acknowledged we didn't have menus or drinks. It was busy but it seemed no one was interested in taking care of us. We finally had to ask the hostess for a server to take our order. We had a nice chat with the owner at the end of our meal which helped to make up for the lack of attention from the servers.
