Hidden gem. What a delight to experience this unpretentious restaurant tucked off the I-5. Let me be clear, i hate aioli. Their Tuscan burger was served with a requested side of chipotle aioli. Woodside grill was a pleasant surprise! I wasn't expecting a restaurant like this to be in Anderson of all places, and it was well worth the visit. To start the decor is really nice. The place isn't too uppity but the restaurant is quite pretty inside. The night I went they had live music which was very pleasant and fit the setting very well. The wait staff was extremely friendly and personable. We started with a baked Brie appetizer which was sweet and delicious. I had the California Burger for my main course and loved it. The burger was cooked perfectly and was full of flavor. I also tried the Chicken Saltimbocca with mushroom risotto and that too was delicious. If you're looking for a very nice place to eat in Anderson I recommend the Woodside Grill with its amazing food and wonderful atmosphere. It's a bit pricey but worth it in my opinion. read more

I had the opportunity to visit Woodside Grill 5 times between June 27 and June 30, 2024, as I was staying in hotel adjacent to this restaurant. On various days I was there for breakfast or lunch or dinner, the food was amazing, and the service was excellent. Peter was one of my first waiters. One morning the number in our breakfast party continued to grow from 2 to 6 by someone showing up every 15 minutes. Peter was always accommodating and friendly. I shared that we were in Anderson for my oldest son's graduation from medical residency at Mercy Hospital, Redding. After serving our dinner party of 10 one evening, Peter and Chef Megan brought out two pieces of cheesecake and asked if there was a doctor in the house. The next evening was a beautiful graduation banquet adjacent to restaurant and several waiters from Woodside Grill were assisting with serving, including Peter. As the evening was drawing near, I looked for Peter to let him know that we would be having a party of 17 for breakfast the next morning. There was - of course - a private dining room that was perfect. Peter, along with Chef Megan were there early the next morning to greet everyone. By the end of breakfast, Peter was family, calling us all by name, and continuing to provide incredible service; but more than service, he had a Servant's heart. My only regret - I don't know when my next trip is planned for that area - but whenever it is - I will stop at the Woodside Grill. Highly Recommend Woodside Grill - it is extraordinary! read more

What a quiet pleasant spot to eat breakfast or lunch. The lunch menu has about two dozen items on it. From vegetarian bowl's with couscous or rice and vegetables to meat dishes, sandwiches an hamburgers. They also prepare salads and a handmade soup every afternoon. The wait staff was helpful and kind. But with all their help I could barely get on the Wi-Fi for my second try. I believe it's due to the weakness of the Wi-Fi strength. I'll start by saying that I just don't understand this whole 4 stars to a mediocre joint. What I experienced here was simply ridiculous and I'd say at best it's worth 2 stars and that might be a little too much if you ask me. Came here ordered 2 mediocre burgers that tasted previously frozen and Yes, I can tell the difference between fresh and frozen and to top it off I asked for no cheese but there was cheese on my burger. At that point all the added fat I didn't want on my burger ended up on it regardless of scraping off the cheese. Something so simple and it can't be done... Ummm, sounds more like a fast food joint then a "4 star" restaurant. All the food that was served was at best mediocre and our waitress moved at the pace of a snail and looked like she was high or on something. I would have understood if there were other people in the restaurant but it was just the 4 of us, so I just don't understand why such poor, inefficient, slow service. What made this dining trip even more painful is that our Wendy's tasting burgers went for $17 a pop and the caesar salad with chicken was $14 + other items such as 1 glass of house wine and soup blah, blah, blah totaling $70 tip not included. What a flippin' joke people... next time I will make a bee line to a hole in the wall run of the mill joint and if I don't like it at least I know I didn't flush my hard earned money down a toilet called illusion. I have to admit, I was extremely disappointed with this restaurant. It looked beautiful from the outside, and beautiful from the inside. The waitress who greeted us was friendly and it was looking to be a good evening. We ordered our food (even if the table next to us mocked our order. "Fish and chips. Ha. Oh, how I wish that would have been the case. Yes, there was LESS nappy lettuce, but the slime was still there. I've uploaded photos that show what was in our 2nd requested salads. The men were brave and picked out the gross bits. When we told our waitress and showed her the rotting food, her response was "I'm sorry, but you know, it's out of a bag, so..." Let's take a minute to dissect this statement. So, because the lettuce was out of a bag, it's okay to serve rotting food to your customers? I understand that it's not her fault (unless she's supposed to prep the salads), however, attempting to make an excuse for serving decaying food is sort of unacceptable waitress behavior. The rest of dinner was good. The actual dinner was rather tasty, and after discussing with the table the lack of a possible tip (and taking photos), our waitress was suddenly extremely attentive. She did give us a small discount (less than 10%) for the issue which was nice. We did give her a tip, despite the initial nonchalant attitude. However, in the forefront of our minds was the constant question of "what else could have been bad"? The fish that I was eating could have been slimy. The shrimp in his pasta could have started to turn. If you have rotting lettuce in your fridge, what else has already gone bad? So really, it's up to you in you want to chance it. I, personally, wouldn't recommend it and won't be going back. EDIT: After contacting a local vineyard about ordering wine, I realized that their wine markup is absolutely ridiculous as well. Nearly a 50% markup on the bottle (retail price, not even wholesale), and charging half the price of the bottle for just a glass?? Hmmm... go to the vineyard for a $23 bottle, or pay $12 a glass? Get the burger! 5 stars for being there when we needed it. We had to leave a large family dinner elsewhere just after ordering due to some health issues and by the time we got back to the hotel it was 8:30 and we were HUNGRY. So I popped over to order to-go. The host was an absolutely sweet heart. The food was going to take a bit so I got some wine and took it to the room to wait. They had Freakshow Cab, which I'm a big fan of so that helped ease my tummy (or my mind). They called the room when it was ready. We got a couple of their salads, calamari, and the burger. The burger was delicious. The patty was huge and juicy, the bacon was super flavorful, the shredded lettuce kinda reminded me of a Big Mac (in a good way), and the brioche bun was sweet and toasted just right. Not only was I satisfied, but all the other stress from earlier faded away. What else could I ask for from a meal? Apparently, in some circles, poached really means hardboiled. I like to take the yolk and pop it in my mouth where warm runny goodness explodes. This time there was no explosion and instantly my mouth felt like the Sahara desert as the yolk was completely dried up. Blech! Adding insult to injury, instead of having 'Lox' like Salmon it was dried out and shriveled up just like the Salmon Jerky you can buy in Curry Village except nowhere near as tasty. I was recently visiting my son inn Anderson who recently bought a house there. He and his father had just finished a golf game and came to pick me up for lunch. Every time we come to see our son, we will be having lunch at "The Woodside". My husband and I usually eat lite at lunch so we ordered to share, the fried chicken sandwich. Oh my, what a delight! It had an Asian chare with what I would guess a mild Asian slaw on top served on a toasted bun served with amazing garlic fries. My son chose the burger which was charbroiled and done to perfection, pink, juicy and tasty! Second Visit was just this weekend... added to another spectatcular dish was an appetizer: the nachos! I'll just say the chicken nachos, too, had an Asian flare and were "WOW WOW WOW"! The food was really just good again,, except.. party foul.. some of the dishes were on the cold side. Worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. Staff was incompetent and rude. Kitchen didn't have half the ingredients offered on the menu. Server didn't seem at all interested in being there (though did make sure to add on an automatic gratuity). Website advertises the menu as being farm to table. This is a bold faced lie. I have spent my entire adult life working and owning restaurants, and there wasn't an ingredient served that wasn't packaged by either US Foods or Sysco. The Woodside Grill was located right next to our hotel, so we decided to give their breakfast a try. Our server here was absolutely amazing. As soon as we walked in, everyone made us feel welcome. We were one of the only people eating there at the time, which was great because we were in a bit of a time crunch. We ordered almost immediately and received our food just as fast. I ordered an omelette, which was tasty and had a great ratio of bacon, tomatoes, avocado, and cheese. I was a huge fan of the hash browns, they were cooked just the way I like them: crispy and thin. Before we left, our server offered us a variety of pastries for no charge. I ordered the cranberry muffin which was delicious. Then she offered us coffee to go. Went in for a pick up order that was supposed to only take 20 minutes, waited closer to a hour which is completely fine (places get busy it happens) when I finally got my order I got home and found I was missing items. When I called I was told that I would need to get back there before 2:00pm (it was 1:36pm) to get my order fixed. I live over 20 minutes away so that was impossible.
