Very lively place and the vibe is chill. Great hangout spot for sure. Food/drinks is decent and the place is very clean. Non-smoking indoors is also a plus! Service is good and the staff is very attentive! I recommend this place for a good night out with friends, adult family, or date. read more

Service was a little slow for it to not be that busy; it's new, so I wasn't expecting perfection but the bar staff seemed like they didn't know what they were doing. I had a cuecumber cooler and I don't think it was made correctly -- no watermelon puree or tajin rim (didn't get a pic early enough but it's the one on the right). Then I got a ranch water; it tasted like nothing but straight lime juice (pictured on the left). I'd love to return but maybe in a few more weeks to let them work out the kinks! read more

At my Father's Day, my whole family of 8 ( 3 ladies and 5 gentlemens) all over 21 years old)went to try this place, i don't recommend it at all, from the waitress, assistant manager to the manager are unqualified personal, Why? Because we were inside ready when the waitress ask us for Id's, by accident one of the ladies forgot her Id at home, the waitress told us that we couldn't play because this lady didn't have her Id with her, we ask her if would be ok with a picture of passport on the phone and she said not, at that point everything was handle ok, as soon as we were leaving we noticed thay was pouring raining so I told my family to wait because i was making a phone call to another place to see if they card , as soon as i hang up my son told me hurry because the waitress is kicking us ! My son told her that we will be leaving as soon as i finish with the phone call but she keep saying you guys have to leave NOW . Like it we were doing something wrong! She didn't care that was pouring outside. 6 of the 8 exit the place, my son and I request to speak with a manager , a assistant mgr. Came out and start talking with us and told us that the waitress was right to us ask to leave immediately! She keep saying the same thing that the waitress was right!I So i ask to call the manager. The manager came and handled the same immature, unprofessional and inappropriate way! He keep defending what ever the waitress told him which was all a lie. Some friends wanted to meet with us to try this place out last week. Food was overpriced and not quality...seemed like processed food...Jessica and Tommy were wonderful! Other than that, please tell your servers/waitresses to not check on the same table literally every five minutes!!! If they want a tip that badly, that is not the way to go about doing it. If a customer wants or needs something, they will usually ask for it. We do not mind a waitress dropping by occasionally, but every few minutes is just too excessive! Overall, this place is decent. We were at a table where the young guys (seemed like just out of high school/early college) playing on the table next to us were smoking those vape cigarettes, and it did not even smell like regular cigarettes (nicotine), the clouds of smoke were very large, and if they wanted to smoke, they should have gone outside on the patio. They acted very important just because apparently they had their pool equipment with them, and they told us that they were on a pool league. Big deal! We don't care if they are on a pool league - they should respect others' health. That smoke made most of us dizzy, as you can basically figure out what they might have been smoking. You have a nice establishment, but it is a shame that you have customers that want to do their own thing. We will not be back! Thoroughly disgusted! read more

In short, do not go here for good food or great service. I will elaborate: Woody's Hideaway is an attractive place and offers pool, darts, food, music, and television. The inside is large and has various areas for pool, darts, dining, and drinking. The main problem with Woody's Hideaway is the food. They have a simple and plain menu, which I love, but the food I had was very poorly executed. With a menu this short, everything should be great. The good is not great. It's poor. Spcifically the "BBQ Ranch Chicken Wrap" was swimming in mayo and lettuce and had very little chicken. The pathetic dish was lucky to have given me 1 ounce of chicken. The result was a goopy, drippy, soggy tortilla oozing mayo and offering very little interest. The buffalo wings were maginally better, but rely on a thick breaded coating to make the tiny amount of chicken look bigger. The result is that you get a great deal of cheap fried batter, soaked with sauce, and very little meat. The wings are served with 2 small tubs of dressing, which i did not open, and a few thin pieces of plain looking celery. The taste of the wings was OK, but the overall impression was poor after I realized I was getting mostly fried batter. Another problem was availability of beer. After ordering 2 different beers and being told they were not available, I was finally able to find something in stock. The beer selection gravitates towards watery bland lagers, so don't execpt much interest beyond one IPA if you are lucky. The service was lackluster, in spite of the place being half empty on a Friday night with many waitresses clustered together, talking, mostly not serving customers. We sat in the dining area and had fairly quick service initially but the waitress was not attentive or quick to return. She also was not happy to be there. I felt like we were a problem to her. After eating the poor food, we paid the tab and moved to the darts area and opened a new tab with a different waitress there. The second waitress was friendlier but it started to get tedoius after she returned twice to tell me the beer I ordered was not available. I can't fault her for the lack of inventory and she did the best she could. When I was ready to pay, she was nowhere to be found but the bartender did locate her. Ultimtely we are very unlikely to return primarily due to the highly lackluster food. A kitchinb cranking out a small number of simple dishes should be doing an excellent job on each one, but whoever was running the kitchen that day either had no clue about how to make great food, or just didn't care to do it. I really wanted to like Woody's Hideaway, but the mangement needs to do a great deal better to keep people coming back. Houston has thousands of bars, restaurants and entertainment venues, and Woody's doesn't rise to the level of quality that its signage, decor, marketing, and atmpsohere suggest. If the kitchen can't get it's act together, the place is just another bar with pool tables and bland beer. read more

My friends and I made the mistake of visiting this place on a Thursday night and experienced an absolute disaster. After ordering a round of drinks and four appetizers, we waited over an hour with nothing to show for it but two more rounds. When we asked the so-called manager, Steve, about the delay, he argued it had only been 45 minutes--completely dismissing our concerns. When the food finally showed up, two dishes were cold. Instead of handling it professionally, Steve accused us of lying and told the waitress to take it back and refund us, which felt like a not-so-subtle way of saying "leave." He then came over himself to double down on his attitude, insinuating that we were making things up because he saw the food come out hot. Rather than take any responsibility, Steve chose to insult us, adding a layer of arrogance to the already horrendous service. It's clear Steve doesn't know the first thing about managing or customer service. To the owner: train your staff properly or just get rid of Steve, because treating customers like this is beyond unacceptable. We won't be back, and I strongly advise others to steer clear of this dumpster fire of an establishment. read more

My friend & I had a rough day killing sharks in Galveston, afterwards, we drove north and stumbled upon this joint. It was an amazing experience! Kara literally saved my life! Thankfully she knew the Heimlich maneuver, I was choking on a lime dipped in ketchup and she saved me! The food was spectacular! Kara recommended buttermilk cheesesticks! They were really good! They lied about the prices of the beer, it advertised $18 per bucket, we even asked the waitress and she said it was 18, but when we got the check they charged us $32.50 per bucket. Also the margaritas tasted like dog water. read more
