Came here today for family lunch on a quest to find our new family BBQ celebration spot. We've been going to the same place in Central Jersey for over 20 years, but as we all moved closer to the city, we've been in search of a new place and other joints paled in comparison...until Taste 1080. We came in at 12 on a Saturday, and it was fairly empty (everyone started coming in around 1, and it was full by the time we left). Stellar presentation of the food and wonderful, attentive service that made my family feel very welcomed! The kalbi had beautiful marbleization and was much more tender then expected. I would prefer more pancheon like fishcakes or potatoes, but what was served was still very enjoyable and fresh (especially the fluffy, steamed eggs). The best meat, amazing banchan which always changes, attentive and friendly staff. What more could I ask for? This has become my go to KBBQ in the Fort Lee/Pal Park area. It can get a bit pricey, depending on how much you want to eat, but it's absolutely worth the premium price. I would like to try the wagyu eventually! read more

What a great surprise! I think I found my new favorite Korean barbecue in New Jersey. I love the service. Everyone was very nice. Food was excellent. We got the marinated short rib and it was absolutely delicious. We also got the non-marinated short rib and it was perfect.Our meal came with so many side dishes and we also ordered the glass noodles which were by far some of the best I've ever had. My girlfriend and I decided to give Wooga a Hail Mary chance. For context, we had to come to place quite often, back when it was still called Taste 1080. Back then it was unquestionably the best place for Korean bbq in the area. However, things changed. Started with the name for one, it changed to Wooga. More regrettably, the standards and quality changed as well. Our last visit was around half a year ago. The meat quality was so so and the service was so so. My girlfriend and I took a break from this establishment and visited a few others. Just tonight we decided to revisit Wooga to see if our last visit was a fluke. Turns out, it wasn't. The meat quality is still mid, a far cry from their Taste 1080 days. The thick pork belly was chewy and lacking any tasty fat. The thin brisket was alright, but for how much they are charging it needed to be better. Service was also mid, the pacing of the meal was not good (if you know you know). However, the most heinous part of the meal was the sandy egg soufflé. How is it even possible that an egg soufflé could have sand in it. I spent many minutes trying to figure out if it was salt, sugar, msg, or even some form of dashi powder. I refuse to gaslight myself, it was indeed sandy. Even on my way to get boba, the sand still lingered in my mouth. We actually ordered more meat, but luckily for us, they forgot. We cut our losses and agreed to never come back here. read more

Heads up: when I came they only opened at 3pm so yelp's hours might be wrong. So I lived in LA before which has some of the best kbbq around... and I like this place more than all the places I tried in LA!!! This place has amazing service and is the best value meal. It has the best quality meats, for a very reasonable price. I got the special combo (small for 3) which had beef and pork. The beef was literally the juiciest I ever had... it was so tender and it literally melts in your mouth! It's also so much more affordable than wagyu but in my opinion I'm just as satisfied.. the marbling is absolutely amazing. They grill it with rosemary and it's great. They also put their house special sauce on the grill so over time it simmers and becomes more and more flavorful and intense. It tastes seriously delicious with the beef. Usually, pork is an afterthought for me when it comes to kbbq. But at this place, It's crispy on the outside, and extremely juicy on the inside. Also, they put kimchi on the grill so that it cooks in the fat of the pork meat. When you put that grilled kimchi with the pork in a lettuce leaf.. you're going to be in heaven. Some of the best food I ever had.. The banchan is seriously so good too.. I never had an steamed egg that fluffy, a tofu soup that flavorful, and the cold noodle was so chewy and had a great sauce. they even gave us free corn cheese as an appetizer. The servers were really nice and made sure our meats were not over cooked. The venue is also big so you don't have to sit near other patrons. The bathrooms were clean too. Overall, I recommend this place wholeheartedly. I would go back many, many more times - it's been one of my favorite restaurant experiences so far. read more

Delicious meal and phenomenal service! They offer a variety of cuts, so we did a mix bbq to try everything. My go to is the pork belly and my new favorite is the marinated pork ribs. The staff here were so attentive and came back every couple of minutes to bbq the meat, bring napkins etc. Hands down one of the best service i've experienced because I never had to flag them down for anything! WHAT AN EXPERIENCE. I normally am not a fan of non-AYCE KBBQ spots, because it's not all AYCE. However, this places live up to all the hype I've been reading up on Yelp and was excited when my brother recommended this place. I was not disappointed at all. We got the Combo for 5 people ($220 at the time of this review), and man, we were so stuffed that half of us could not finish the cold noodles at the end. From the banchans, meat dishes, noodles, and everything else, it was cooked to perfection. Shoutouts to the servers who provided exceptional service throughout the whole 90 minute experience. Some of my favorite meats and dishes here were the pork jowl, fillet mignon, pork belly, and the hangar steak. The servers know how to grill, and that's what really made it for me. All in all, if you are looking for an occasion to celebrate with a family of 5, the Combo here is definitely the thing to do! read more

The quality of the meat here blew me away. It's not AYCE, but definitely worth the price! We started off with sweet corn with melted mozzarella cheese and seafood pancake (not pictured). I don't really understand the grilling technique of this place. They only use one type of angled grill for all the meats meaning that the Prime Short Rib you spent some cash on never sees the flame and ends up a wet flavorless mess with no char at all. The grillman stands there and rubs a piece of rosemary on the sad meat as if that will help it. The Pork jowl gets the same treatment and never reaches peak flavor because of the weakness of the grill and the technique. Sure they grill it with Kimchi which I like but this time it was so salty as to be inedible. It's packed to the gills with customers so I'm sure they won't mind if I don't come back. read more

Never knew about this kbbq place until a friend recommended it to me. Absolutely one of the best kbbq places in the area! Prices are VERY fair for the quality of meat and also the service they provide. The second time i came, it was a Friday night and we ended up waiting for about an hour. We had no problem with it cause we anticipated a wait, but they gave us some service corn cheese dish to make up for our wait. The waiters are very diligent with cooking your meats and actually giving you time to eat!! Which surprisingly many kbbq places dont give you this time. Quality of food is great again and for the combo meat package you get not only beef and pork, but also steamed eggs, kimchi or bean paste stew, and cold buckwheat noodles. After finishing the meal my wife and I were both left wanting a little bit more, maybe some brisket or marinated flap. Now they have sell liquor to some limit like few beer types wine and korean hard liquor. They do not have other hard liquor but you may bring and be charged corkage fee. They used to be byob but not anymore. Food was better than expectations. They limit their space not tables next to each other from what I saw. Ventured out to new Jersey, for the first time, for a friend's bday on a Saturday night, because we are all kinda disillusioned by the k BBQ scene in Manhattan. The place doesn't take reservations and it's BYOB. We didn't take advantage of it but lots of tables brought many drinks by themselves. Looks authentic by the way of the crowd, new Jersey Korean community represent haha. We are a party of 8, ordered a combo for 6 people and got so FULL. Def better quality/price than those ones in Manhattan k town. The combo comes with soup and cold noodles, which really made us full. Came here for lunch yesterday and everything was great- Service, side dishes, meat. They have a variety of side dishes that tasted good and they weren't stingy with refills. We started with the grilled shrimp and it did not disappoint. They grill it and season it with butter and garlic towards the end which gives it extra flavor. We got the beef combo option for 4 ppl. Every cut of meat was tender and they grilled it perfectly for us. At the end we got the cold noodles and the mixed spicy noodles. Both were delicious and helped to cut the heaviness of the meal. COVID review~ SAFETY - 5 out of 5 Can't say enough how safe I felt. From the moment you approach the tented area, the host/hostess checks your temperature. Once you are seated, you will realize there is sufficient spacing between tables. On each table there is abundant amount of hand sanitizer for you to make sure you are safe. We went during dinnertime and they even thought of bug repellent coils burning around to make sure the outdoor dining experience is free of bugs. FOOD QUALITY - 5 out of 5 I've noticed that during this pandemic, quality of food just in general went down for most restaurants. It may be due to the lack of good quality meat or produce or it may be just an adjustment period that restaurants are going through for setting up food outdoors or what have you. However, Taste 1080, did not disappoint with the quality of their meat. It was seasoned well with a hint of rosemary and cooked to perfection. Their army stew was one of the richest, most flavorful stews I've ever had at a restaurant. Lastly, their gae-ran-jjim (egg dish), was huge and they provided more than enough ban-chan (side dishes). SERVICE and AMBIANCE - 4.5 out of 5 We were attended to quite frequently, couldn't complain. Noise level is on the louder side. There are people drinking around you and you are in a parking lot adjacent to a major road in Fort Lee so don't go there if you are looking for a quieter setting (this should be obvious but in case you are not familiar with korean bbq restaurants) BYOB? - YES We were able to bring our own wine bottle. Because we all love some alcohol with our favorite way to eat beef, Korean BBQ style!Decent beef, good side dishes: spicy raw crab, potato salad with apple(really good)and steam eggs. Wow! This place absolutely exceeded my expectations. Came here in the middle of the day during the week, and got the beef for 2. Second time I got the beef+pork for 3 with A5 Wagyu. Both times were super filling, and I came in hungry! I'm so used to AYCE K-BBQ but the servings sizes are more than enough considering all the sides. The quality of the meat is what really sets them apart, the beef is flavorful and well marbalized and the pork belly, my gosh, it really just melted in my mouth. Oh yum. Everything here is yum. If you love Korean food and have some money- get here fast!! My two favorite items are the marinated short ribs and bulgolgi. I just wish there was more food with each order especially because one entrée will cost you approx $32. It does come with awesome apps such as kimchi. The shrimp shumai are also amazing that comes with yummy dipping sauce. Also bring your wine here! BYOB restaurants are the best. Perhaps the first thing to know is that when you click on the Yelp link to the website, you are taken to the website of Wooga, which is what the restaurant calls itself on its menu, but the street signage still says Taste 1810. There's a good sized parking lot, and some benches outside for waiting. We had a twenty minute wait at peak dinenr time on a July Saturday - the host's forecast was accurate. Once inside, I took the easy way out and ordered the Wooga Special for three - even though we were two, a doggie bag always a possibility. For beverages I had a draft Orion (a Japanese brew), La Portena went with her usual glass of white wine. Don't get the house wine. On the table, some salt, sesame oil (sweetened) and a bit of mild gochujang. First to arrive a large bowl of marinated onions - not sure if these were intended a s a banchan or as an accompanuiment to the barbecue. The banchan included two kinds of kimchi, green beans, a potato and ham salad, and macaroni salad. Our trencher of meat apeared. Short rib, hanger steak abd skirt steak were listed, but I am not sure whether the skirt steak made an aappearance or if the third steak was the rib steak. These were accompanied by mushroom caps and slices, and a bunch of enoki-daki. Also three dokbukki. Our servers expertly grilled the meats. A small container of a soy based dresing warmed on each side of the grill. Absent were the lettuce leaves that usually accompany these meats. I thought the servers did a ood job of pacing the meal, but might have gone a little bit slower if left to my own devices. After a change of grill plate, our pork course began. Our server placed marinated cabbage on the grill - sort of like unfermented kimchi. Pork shoulder, pork belly and pork jowl. The jowl had an interesting texture, a litle bit crunchy, the shoulder was flavorful but a little dry. No surprise, the pork belly was the clear winner. I would recommedn you order a beef combo and an a la care order of pork belly. Along with the meats, our combo includied a nice portion of egg souffle, which deflaed when cut into as a souffle should. You also get one small bowl of stew - either miso or kimchi. We opted for the miso, which was very savory. We had no point finsihing everything to this point - but were getting full. Then the cold buckwheat moodles arrived - one spicy and one plain to eat in, with a container for the third to take home. I had aniticpated a small bowl of something cold and refreshiong after the meats - but these were just about main course sized - think medium size bowl of ramen as offered in a place that also has a large. The noodles were refreshiong but entirely too much food - La Portena barly put a dent in hers - whcih was a shame as it included an egg and meat along with the noodles and veggies. We took the third bowl home -i drained the noodles and reassembled it the next day, adding chili crisp and sesame oil to enliven it and the dish was still absolutely delicious. I would rate the service as very good to excellent - not an easy feat in a crowded restarurant where the servers do double duty as grill cooks. Recommended. read more

The best kbbq place around! The meat combos come with side dishes (egg soufflé, dwenjang stew or kimchi stew, other veggie based dishes). The galbitang comes with three large meat on the bone. The mul naengmyun comes with floating bits of ice that makes the soup base extra refreshing. The noodles are perfectly chewy. Although they have a parking lot, it gets quite packed. Since it's busy service takes a bit but they're usually pretty good about it. Overall, great place for Korean bbq. read more

Totally blown away by this bbq spot. The service 5 stars! The food 5 stars! The staff 5 stars! My exception going in was pretty bad. I thought it would've been just a par based Korean bbq experience. Non English speaking staff... okay food ... cheap quality meat ... etc... but I was blown away! Our waitress was the bomb. She was a BBQ pit master cooked and cut everything to perfection! We did the beef and pork combo for 3 and orders a spicy squid (was amazing) to share amongst 4 and barley walked out the restaurant. I didn't take as many photos because I was to busy eating.
