Tofu Curry Udon
Angela K.

So yummy! I always order the ginger chicken jook when i want something hearty and warm. This will heal your hangover or sickness. I'm always looking for places that sell jook, and this is the one place I have enjoyed it every single time. It comes with fried Chinese donut so you can dip in the jook. I always order through delivery app because the restaurant is far away from where i live.

Didn't have to brave the cold for Wooly Pigs at Outside Lands but instead popped into their Dogpatch location and got that marinaded crispy Taiwanese Pork Cutlet two ways. Sandwiched between toasted brioche bun with iceberg lettuce and pickle and a side salad and in a rice plate with brown sugar minced pork over steamed rice, pickled mustard green and a soy sauce egg. Personally, I love the balance in the sandwich with the crunch of the iceberg and pickle and having a side salad.

I have been several times and each item I have ordered has been AMAZING! Their curry udon with steak is 10/10, their Szechuan chicken is also 10/10. Their portions are huge for the price point. Their service is absolutely outstanding. After Covid I felt that customer service died but they have reminded me it's alive and well! Their dining area is great for if you want to dine by yourself which I like. But they have plenty of seating!

5 Five Spice Chicken Banh Mi. SOO good!

One of my favourite banh mi(s) in the city! The bread is perfect and the helpings of meat are GENEROUS! I almost wish there was less meat and more veg, but all very tasty. I typically do a pick up order, but the service is fast and the turn around time is quick. A great sandwich to grab before you hit the park or catch a game nearby! The 5 spice chicken and the pork banh mi are definitely the ones to try.

first time visiting wooly pig over the weekend! Their food is very filling. I would've never expected even food to be on or along third Street Service was really good, ambience, and plenty of seating inside before closing

Ginger Chicken Jook

I liked the flavor of the ginger chicken jook but wish it came with more toppings. After eating the toppings at the top and the fried dough sticks, it got pretty bland. There was also almost no chicken. It's a big portion but I will have to add my own toppings when I eat it again!

Ever since Wooly Pig ran away to Dogpatch, it's just been a little out of sight, out of mind for me, but color me surprised to actually recognize how close it is to Thrive City! I went with the namesake Wooly Pig sandwich and found it delicious! The pulled pork was tender and the flavor was the perfect balance of sweet and savory. I also really enjoyed the side of shrimp chips which is very unique when it comes to sides. I decided to pair it with a lychee black tea and....yeah, skip this one. There was a single lychee in the bottom, but there was nary a hint of lychee flavor in the tea otherwise. Boyfriend went with the jook which was packed with chicken and ginger flavor. I would recommend this! He also added Becky's bagel which tasted of peak health. It...wasn't quite for me lol. All in all, it was a wonderful reunion with Wooly Pig. It was one of my favorite places back in the day to grab food and walk across the street to Golden Gate Park, but hey, if the new version means eating here before a Chase event? I can get behind it!

got weekend lunch takeout here and the banh mis are great! ratio of meat/veggies/bread was great and everything was flavorful and fresh! it took quite a while for our sandwiches to come out, but it seemed fairly busy inside with most tables occupied. the interior is pretty cute, but we didn't stay to eat. the sandwiches were good, but i would have preferred a regular baguette instead of the garlic butter bread. still delish tho and would recommend!

Great find for a nice casual, Asian fusion meal! Many casual Asian spots have disappointed me in the past but the flavors here were great and the signature curry udon soup is a must try! I got the curry udon with grilled pork and it was the perfect combination of creamy, slightly spicy curry soup with the nice chewy thick udon and the tender charred sliced pork on top. There's a good amount of protein and udon to make it a full meal. I also appreciate that there's gailan (chinese broccoli) as well to add some veggies to the bowl. Really delicious meal and super convenient if you're near Chase Center or the Medical Campus.

To go order of curry udon with fried chicken. Curry is a Thai style red coconut lime curry broth with seasonal choy. Picked up from the restaurant as opposed to having it delivered. Pick up was smooth. It was peak lunch and there was a line to order but I was able to bypass it to show my pickup order and have it handed to me. When I opened up my curry, I was surprised that the soup container was only half full. Skeptical, I poured all the ingredients into a bowl and

Love the variety of Asian fusion dishes offered at Wooly Pig! When my friends and I came in on a Friday evening, we had to wait a bit after our orders for ready for a table since they were all full. While the space itself is not too big, the white tables, walls, and chairs, makes the place seem quite roomy. I ordered their Katsu Curry. The fish cutlet was crispy, and the curry was flavorful with its seasoning and spicy sriracha aioli. The dish was presented neatly in a small curry bowl on top of a plate with the curry and rice. The portion size was decent, and I ended up having leftovers for the next day. My friends tried some of their sandwiches/burgers, and they look like an appetizing dish that I would like to try next! There are also interesting Asian drinks and premade coffee in plastic cups.

ginger chicken jook

my family and I came to wooly pig for brunch- we ordered the ginger chicken jook, grilled pork vermicelli bowl, fried chicken curry udon, and grilled pork banh mi. the banh mi was delicious- the smokey grilled pork was so flavorful combined with the veggies and sauce inside the sandwich. the crusty bread they use is perfect for a banh mi as well. the vermicelli bowl was light, refreshing, and had the same grilled pork so also very delicious. the curry udon and jook were so hearty and packed with flavor as well, would definitely recommend those on a chilly day. I wouldn't have minded even more flavor and creaminess in the curry. we also loved their vietnamese coffee which was very strong and sweet. overall, I would definitely come back if I'm in the mission bay area. It's a very casual cafe but offers full meal portions. service was great and fast even though there aren't people taking your order at the table. I highly recommend stopping by for a banh mi!

Staff is friendly and their gluten free brownie is pretty good. There are some tables but they are pretty small and the place gets busy. The coffee bar is open with the ability to see baristas making drinks as ordered with also a display for pastries to pair with the drinks. Service: The baristas were extremely friendly and diligent on getting drinks swiftly made to order, while also being knowledgeable and helpful with questions on the menu. Wait time: Less than 10 minutes between ordering of food / drink and it being ready when going at 10am on a Sunday. Matcha: The Velvet matcha had a good matcha flavor without being overly sweet and a good balance between ice and actual drink. The matcha foam that goes on top is also not excessive while providing a more deep flavor profile that the actual drink lacks a little in. They do also have lids on a side table to allow for you to take your drink on the go with both a straw option and sip lid built into the same top. The matcha crepe cake was okay but did not really have a strong matcha taste to it and the crepes themselves were not very flavorful either. For Presidio Heights, Q Specialty Coffee is a solid tasting matcha with plenty of natural lighting and a great place to catch up with friends or colleagues while enjoying a beverage.

The fish sandwich was decent, the cheese was cold but the fish was nice and flaky. I wish the fish skin was a bit more crunchy but I did like the slaw and sauce on it. 6.5/10 The pork one was soooo good and juicy. The crust was super crunchy and surrounded by the soft bread was such a nice texture. There was a sweet sauce which balanced the sandwhich nicely. TLDR; would get the pork katsu sandwhich and hojicha. Would come back to try the bento and the salmon in matcha broth!!

It's a solid assembly line operation they got going.
